  1. Clarification of the rules for /r/skyrimmods official discord. (These clarifications also apply to the subreddit where relevant).
  2.
  3. We ask that you do your research about questions before speaking, regardless of whether you are asking a question or answering one. If people request additional information about your mod setup, it is best to provide it without questioning its relevance (it's always useful).
  4.
  5. Rule 1 (be respectful) is our most important rule. Disrespectful behavior includes, but is not limited to, racism, homophobia, and sexism, as well as any other form of bigotry, trolling, flaming, verbal abuse, personal attacks / insults, making crude, offensive or antagonistic statements to other members, unnecessary pings, or repeatedly bothering people to work on a mod project for you.
  6.
  7. "No Piracy" means no promotion of, or participation in, piracy, hacking or illegal material. This includes, but is not limited to, pirated games, software, and/or the distribution or unauthorized sharing of mod files. Promotion includes discussing where to get pirated files, as well as defending those who pirate files. MOD AUTHORS RETAIN ALL RIGHTS TO THEIR FILES. The rights of mod authors are well established by Bethesda and is not up for discussion.
  8.
  9. Please keep all nsfw mod talk to #nsfwmods. Non-modding related nsfw content is strictly forbidden on this server. Pictures must be uploaded to an external source (such as imgur) if you need to share them. If you are not sure if something is NSFW (for example gore/reproductive system but non-sexual imagery) default to NSFW. The moderators are not prudes so if we say something is NSFW, it's fucking NSFW.
  10.
  11. Memes and off-topic (aka not related to the ongoing discussion) screenshots, links, or other content go in #linkspicsmemes. Images and links that are directly relevant to the ongoing discussion may be posted in that channel. Discussion of movies and TV shows should go in #moviestelevision and discussion of games outside of Skyrim belong in #othergames. We are not a FO4 support channel and FO4 questions do not belong in #general or #help.
  12.
  13. #general is a catch all and discussion of mod development and help questions is appropriate there, as well as non-modding related conversations. However, we want this channel to be a comfortable and welcoming place, as opposed to a replica of the chaos and inanity in a larger Twitch channel's chat or a YouTube comment section. "Shitposting," shouldn't be the default mode of communication with actual conversation being the rare exception. If mods or minimods ask you to cut back, do so. In addition if people are actively discussing modding trying to start a conversation about non-modding topics is frowned upon.
  14.
  15. Profanity is explicitly allowed, as long as it is not targeted at another user.
  16.
  17. Discussion of complex and emotionally charged subjects such as religion, politics, mental health, nexus moderation, and apollodown is discouraged but not prohibited. Keep in mind that we will be even more strict about the above rules when discussing these topics because of the potential for harm.
  18.
  19. We are not a mental health support room. If you are in need of mental health support, we suggest contacting a therapist or a trusted meatspace friend. If those are not available there are resources available here: https://www.nami.org/find-support/nami-helpline. Mental health issues are not an excuse for bad behavior on this chatroom.
  20.
  21. Discussion of /r/skyrimmods moderation is best done in private. If you have any concerns with the moderation send a PM to one of the moderators or minimods or send a modmail to /r/skyrimmods.
  22.
  23. Keep in mind that this is a public chatroom and anything you say will be visible to everyone (until you delete it). If you don't want 4chan to know about it, don't say it.
