  1. 06[21:48] * Altea has snuck down to the planet. Sneaking being a relative term, of course, but she has something she has to do. She's made it onto the tram and is on her way.
  2. [21:50] <Ikiryo> The few garrison troops who see her let her through without a word. The tomb is empty and silent when she arrives...
  3. 06[21:58] * Altea walks in silently and sits on the dais next to the giant, waiting in silence for a few moments.
  4. 06[21:59] * Altea leans back, resting against the armor. "I came to apologize...I couldn't stop them from breaking in here and stealing your sword..." She sighs.
  5. 01[21:59] <Altea> "I just...if I had been able to get here faster...or if I had been here instead of fighting the golem...but then the golem might have won...I don't know."
  6. [22:02] <Ikiryo> She feels a hand on her shoulder...
  7. 06[22:02] * Altea freezes...she didn't see anyone here. She turns around.
  8. [22:03] <Ikiryo> ...there is no one there. Has the giant slightly shifted? Or is it just her imagination.
  9. 06[22:03] * Altea looks at the giant.
  10. [22:06] <Ikiryo> The giant is silent but the area feels occupied by more than her. Companionable silence rather than empty silence.
  11. 01[22:06] <Altea> "Anyway, I'm still kinda upset about that. We lost the sword, we shouldn't have let them have anything. But I know we're gonna get them eventually. And I know I'm gonna bring that sword back to you. So don't worry about anything, okay? Just rest here a while and leave it all to me."
  12. 06[22:06] * Altea relaxes and leans back to rest on the giant, closing her eyes.
  13. [22:10] <Ikiryo> Again, she feels the hand on her shoulder. It's large, warm and strong.
  14. 06[22:12] * Altea smiles and relaxes a bit.
  15. [22:14] <Ikiryo> An image comes to her mind. The sword, runes glowing. It slices down...and reality itself splits in half around the blade.
  16. [22:14] <Ikiryo> The world creaks and cracks as a rift is torn in the world.
  17. 06[22:15] * Altea frowns. That's not good. Another reason to recover it as soon as possible.
  18. [22:18] <Ikiryo> The image shifts to the cairne they saved and she feels a weight of presence. The sword feels powerful...but the bones? They are like an ocean compared to a small lake of the sword. She sees abominations of black steel and giant bone. They gesture...and a TSAB battleship is aged a million years in a moment.
  19. 01[22:18] <Altea> "So I did make the right decision..."
  20. [22:20] <Ikiryo> She feels warmth around her, comforting but silent.
  21. [22:22] <Ikiryo> ...and then an ice coldness. She sees a reliquary, arms and armour along every wall. All in a Belkan style. Armed devices and heavy plate. Bows, swords and spears...
  22. [22:22] <Ikiryo> She sees a shadowy figure walking through it...
  23. 06[22:25] * Altea scrunches her brow, trying to think about what that could mean.
  24. [22:28] <Ikiryo> The figure reaches out and opens up a case. It draws out a spear. White bone and a black metal head. Deeply engraved with symbols of hunting and death. Altea feels like she knows exactly what sort of bone that is. The figure turns to leave and she catches a glimpse of a face. Hugo Jaeger. The image fades.
  25. 06[22:28] * Altea jolts up. "He found the spear?"
  26. [22:30] <Ikiryo> The spear...it felt despairing...and hateful. Like something that has hated so long it's stopped caring what it hates, lashing out at all around it.
  27. [22:32] <Ikiryo> The warmth returns, the feeling of a hand on her shoulder. Along with a small edge of concern about that spear.
  28. 01[22:32] <Altea> "I don't really get it, but if we need to get the spear, I'll get it."
  29. 01[22:33] <Altea> "Or maybe he hasn't gotten it. Either way, leave it to me!"
  30. [22:33] <Ikiryo> The warmth intensifies, comforting her.
  31. 01[22:37] <Altea> "Anyway, sorry again that we couldn't stop them from getting the sword. We'll stop them before they can do anything bad with them."
  32. [22:38] <Ikiryo> There is no reply, just the warmth.
  33. 06[22:40] * Altea jumps to her feet. "Alright, I'm fired up now! I gotta go check on Marcos, one of the people that helped defend you, but after that, those jerks are gonna have to run a long way to get away from me!"
  34. [22:41] <Ikiryo> ...she thinks she sees the giant nod. It migh have been her imagination though.
  35. 06[22:41] * Altea charges out of the tomb, enthusiastic again. She's got somebody to see.
  36. [22:54] <Ikiryo> Marcos is, supposedly, back at the Garrison at this point. Though he's not behind the desk when she arrives...
  37. 06[22:57] * Altea shouts at whoever is behind the desk. "I'M GONNA GO SEE MARCOS."
  38. 06[22:57] * Altea doesn't even bother waiting for a response.
  39. [22:57] <Ikiryo> There is no one there. She hears a groan from above.
  40. 06[22:59] * Altea looks up.
  41. [23:03] <Ikiryo> Marcos is laying on the ceiling. He's got bandages around his head and one of his arms is heavily splinted.
  42. 01[23:04] <Altea> "Why are you on the ceiling when you just got out of the hospital? Come down here."
  43. [23:06] <Ikiryo> He pulls himself slowly to his feet. "Because people don't bother me here." He staggers over to the wall and down it to the floor.
  44. 01[23:10] <Altea> "Well, you need to take it easy right now."
  45. 06[23:10] * Altea sits down next to him.
  46. [23:12] <Ikiryo> "I'm trying to..." He sighs. "...I'm sorry."
  47. 01[23:13] <Altea> "Don't apologize. You did good, but you gotta take care of yourself too."
  48. 06[23:13] * Altea smiles. "There aren't many people that'd be standing after spending that much time alone with Achilles. Alexa and Tazzari were almost out after one."
  49. [23:15] <Ikiryo> He shrugs "I don't think he was trying that hard. Otherwise I'd be dead."
  50. 01[23:24] <Altea> "Well, no, he wasn't, but that's not the point."
  51. 01[23:25] <Altea> "He wasn't trying that hard on Alexa or Tazzari either. And just one hit on each of them."
  52. [23:30] <Ikiryo> "Still...they got away with the sword."
  53. 01[23:31] <Altea> "Yeah, I know, but I think it'll be okay. We still need to get it back though."
  54. 01[23:31] <Altea> "I went and saw the giant a little bit ago."
  55. [23:31] <Ikiryo> "Oh? What did he say?" His voice drips sarcasm before he takes a breath. "...sorry."
  56. 06[23:32] * Altea doesn't notice the sarcasm. "It seems like he was trying to comfort me when I apologized for losing it, but it looks like the sword is really dangerous. But the bones would have been worse. We stopped a much worse thing."

  58. 03[23:33] * Ikiryo ([email protected]) has joined #tsabic
  59. [23:36] <Ikiryo> "Well, you did."
  60. 01[23:37] <Altea> "If they hadn't had some kind of control device in Achilles we would have protected it all. Which reminds me."
  61. 06[23:37] * Altea puts her arm around his neck and pulls him close. "I'm glad you're okay." She whispers.
  62. [23:39] <Ikiryo> "I...umm...thanks. I'm glad you are too..." His pale face flushes a little.
  63. 01[23:40] <Altea> "BUT! You lost our bet. So now you have to apply for Cerberus."
  64. [23:40] <Ikiryo> "Wait...what?"
  65. 01[23:41] <Altea> "You protected the other giantblooded against Achilles and you were still standing when we arrived. You held off a physically superior force. You've proven you're good enough." She grins.
  66. 01[23:41] <Altea> "I know you're over there, come back me up on this." She shouts to the familiar.
  67. [23:41] <Ikiryo> "But..." He trails off.
  68. [23:42] <Ikiryo> "I'm not allowed to disagree with my idiot master." A bat's voice comes from over ont he desk.
  69. 01[23:42] <Altea> "Yeah, well, he's an idiot so agree with the truth instead."
  70. 01[23:42] <Altea> "Also I already asked the twins to forward your personnel file to my Lieutenant, so the process has already started."
  71. [23:45] <Ikiryo> "...you did what?" He looks stunned. The bat starts giggling.
  72. 01[23:46] <Altea> "Yep! So, once the admission department contacts you for the interview, let me know and I'll take you to dinner on Mid. Sound good?"
  73. 02[23:46] * Alexa_Kalina ([email protected]) Quit (Quit: )
  74. [23:46] <Ikiryo> He slowly nods, lost for words
  75. 01[23:47] <Altea> "I know the perfect place too. I already have a job there so I get a discount."
  76. 01[23:49] <Altea> "Okay, so, the interview is pretty easy. The test is kind of hard but you're smarter than me so you got this. And after that, you'll be in."
  77. 06[23:50] * Altea gives him a big, painful hug. "Alright, you go ahead and rest now, and I'll see you later. We have a few days around so I'll probably say goodbye to you and Nad and Val and the twins. See you later!" She gets up and goes to leave.
  78. [23:51] <Ikiryo> "Altea...umm...wait a moment?"
  79. 06[23:51] * Altea turns around. "Hmm?"
  80. [23:52] <Ikiryo> He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, working up his courage...before leaning in to kiss Altea on the lips.
  81. 06[23:52] * Altea leans into it. "Took you long enough, idiot."
  82. [23:54] <Ikiryo> "What?"
  83. 01[23:55] <Altea> "I thought I was being pretty obvious before I left to go to Mid."
  84. 01[23:55] <Altea> "I guess I was also kinda mad though."
  85. [23:55] <Ikiryo> "You were? I thought you hated me then."
  86. 06[23:56] * Altea bops him on the head. "Papa says the only reason people get mad is because they care. If people don't care, they don't have to get mad."
  87. [23:58] <Ikiryo> "So you like me? Why? I'm not giantblooded and you are..."
  88. [23:58] <Ikiryo> He rubs his head "And careful with the skull..."
  89. 06[23:58] * Altea bops him again. "I'm not looking at your blood when I look at you. I mean, I was in the tomb but that was a different reason."
  90. 01[23:59] <Altea> "But I mean. If it's such a tough thing then just think of it as some sort of fate thing smiling at you and go from there."
  91. [23:59] <Ikiryo> "Yeah but...you are so much better than I could ever be. Whatever could you see in me?"
  92. 01[23:59] <Altea> "You're thinking about it too much. Don't think so much."

  97. 06[00:14] * Altea kisses him back
  98. 01[00:15] <Altea> "Now, you actually need to go rest. I'll call you for dinner with the others before I leave, okay?"
  99. [00:18] <Ikiryo> He nods "Sure thing."
  100. 06[00:19] * Altea heads out.
