In the instant between them pulling the trigger and the bullets reaching his armor, he drew his daggers. With his blades, he met the bullets head on, slicing the sheer onslaught apart.

Some bullets split in half on contact. With others, he used the dull side of the blade to deflect them back at the soldiers. It happened in a blur too fast for the human eye to comprehend. The firing of weapons, a swift motion of the arms, and twenty men fell to the ground, either unconscious or deceased.
