  1. Findings from the stuff I posted yesterday (https://pastebin.com/AfzkZRgm):
  2.
  3. 1. Since speedrunning is already such an arbitrary hobby, it falls apart pretty easily when challenged by anything. There's usually no "right" answer to problems.
  4.
  5. 2. Vast majority of people dislike hiding strats as it's likely just a temporary solution, others may enjoy the new strats, and others may find better applications for the new tech.
  6. - I agree, it's not a good solution. If the tech is super cancer people may just agree to not use it.
  7.
  8. 3. Many people would want to split categories even for fairly small timesaves (1min out of 28min)
  9. - I disagree, very few games have the competition to support multiple categories like that. Just run the route you want, you don't need a category for every one.
  10.
  11. 4. I don't think most people really care about the routing possibilities with speedtech, they're mostly concerned with how fun or cancer strats are to perform.
  12. - I find myself way less interested in the grind and way more interested in routing these days.
  13.
  14. 5. More people are solely motivated by lowering the time than I thought.
  15.
  16. 6. People love discussing speedruns
  17. 7. Twitter is not a great place for discussion but it's still somewhat effective
  18. 8. Always open with the pastebin context since most people won't notice your reply with it an hour later >(
