- The battle with Nyphadora was rather fierce, and the Archon moved away from the city to practice his newfound art, as always.
- It was still broad daylight, still the time when the most of Agarthan population is awake. Perhaps someone would notice him from the distance, but he cared little for such - only practising his ability mattered the most.
- Upon arrival, without any further waiting, he already began to cloak himself in the wind shroud that oft protected him from effects of friction and atmospheric resistance. But despite the fact that he already mastered such part of this technique, one could not go without it at his further improvement, no.
- He must learn how to control it precisely.
- For that, he merged himself with the wind once more; mana circuits were flooded with the wind-attuned mana, and his form was slowly beginning to resemble that of transparency, of the wind itself.
- Day by day, Zaruma was slowly becoming the Tempest that he claimedto be.
- But this time around, he did not intend to merely accelerate himself and defy the speed limit. That much was already done - issues pertaining with control were thoroughly noted after the fight with Nyphadora, and that's what the Archon would work upon.
- (Zaruma)
- Shroud of wind extended itself around the Archon's form, seeking to take upon every single inch of his body. Much like the darkness consumes the light, his shroud consumed all air around him to further enhance the speed prowess. With creation of temporary vacuums, he would not lose any speed by facing the resistance from local air.
- Now it was the time to practice control.
- His body floated from the ground, surrounded by that shroud of wind; Zaruma had to quickly remember everything that he learnt so far from these practice lessons with Nyphadora and previous fights he had. It was not only about accelerating out of control, but it was also about controlling your movement.
- Winds howled, accelerating Zaruma with a push from behind. It started.
- Much like the bullet, he flew at incredible speed almost immediately; lack of any friction whatsoever did a good job at preserving his speed, but here comes the challenge. Instead of simply speeding about,he must control it, he must direct his movement appropriately to ensure that he does not fall out of line.
- That's when the thrusters infront and at his sides came into action.
- Everytime he felt any struggle with turning to another side, a powerful current of wind blew from his side, either left or right - and he'd turn to the opposite side of direction to which he launched that stream of wind.
- Slowly but surely, he was taking the grasp of how it must be done.
- (Zaruma)
- The Archon was entirely focused on that wind manipulation.
- Even slightest mistake could mean death in this situation, due to fact that he could end up launching himself at incredibly high speed into wrong direction and end up slamming himself.
- He could even burn alive by simply forgetting to control friction. At such speed it's not possible to remain unscathed without either controlling that factor or being extremely durable, after all.
- But Zaruma remained focused. Taking his time to practice making turns via extended shroud by forcing a push to the side everytime such was required, he ensured that his wind mastery would be up to par when it comes to wielding such power. Determined for success, even the risks did not have any effect on him.
- Yet, this was not enough.
- Floating about in the air was certainly a good practice, but he always needed a -challenge-, something to truly push him to the edge that would force him to use everything in his arsenal in order to stay alive.
- His gaze was turned to the trees. But of course! Travelling at such speed and with obstacles? That'd be far more challenging, by all means.
- With a sudden flash, the embodiment of Tempest itself has quickly descended to the ground, ready to tackle yet another challenge.
- (Zaruma)
- This was it.
- He dived into forest, and without slowing down even a little, the Archon was speeding through the forest at incredible speed, one that left naught but a silhouette of his form behind.
- Was it the true Afterimage? Perhaps. He was barely seen, and his physical form was composed of transparent wind more than anything. Maybe it was effect due to merging with the wind, but it certainly looked as if the Archon took a next step in his progress.
- This was pushing him to extreme.
- With an unblinking gaze, Zaruma carefully watched his surroundings as he flied by, ensuring that he would not crash into anything, be it by accident or due to lack of attention.
- At every turn, his winds were used to push him from side to side, assisting in controlling his movement. At every questionable moment, he could immediately use the push infront to slow down, if only to resume his movement once again.
- With that, the mastery of control was slowly coming to him. He understood that when it comes to wielding such speed, it was not only the speed alone that mattered, it was also control.
- One must be careful, after all.
- (Zaruma)
- With the sudden blow of wind, Zaruma halted his movement.
- It's been a while that he was speeding through the forest like this, and certainly next time he'd fight once more, it would serve as a practice to his stamina rather than control.
- For now? It was decently mastered.
- A loud huff escaped his lips, and Zaruma decided to float home to rest. Perhaps another time he would truly grasp this technique, once and for all.
