  8. ***********, Your request to compile all avaliable historical data on Commander Amarylis has been completed, We've used your sources to assemble a rather accurate account of the events leading up to her enlistment. However, the sources used could only create a 80% rendition of the account. We have used intensive behaviour extrapolation to account for this. Though, it would be best to recieve an account of Amarylis's story from herself, however, considering her current frame of mind, this might prove to be difficult.

  13. Chapter 1: Amarylis
  14. Amarylis woke up, her fingers tracing the rough canvas of the bed. The smell of fresh amarillo wafted through the open window. The flower for whom she was named after. Turning to her side, she spotted her sister, Zendora still sleeping away in her bed. Her small frame slowly rising up and down. Amarylis quietly swung her legs of the bed, grabbed her bag, and begun to insert a few books into it. Only stopping when Zendora slowly rolled off the bed, landing on the wooden floor with a loud thump. Her eyes flew open in a panic, and she begun thrashing around, only stopping after hearing her sister's uncontained laughter.
  15.
  16. "That wasn't funny." Pouted Zendora, her eyes set in mock disdain.
  17.
  18. "Sorry, but you're so adorable when you do that." Replied Amarylis. Grabbing both her bag and Zendora's, and slinging them across her shoulder. "Come on, we're going to be late for school at this rate."
  19.
  20. "Wait for me!" Shouted Zendora, running out of the house, both of them laughing and running, as they crossed the large fields of grass, and into the city, before slowing down into a stroll, both of them walking hand in hand, through the city.
  21.
  22. Terrius, a border luminarian colony, not as developed as the homeworld, Luminaria. Terrius afforded a slow, relaxing pace of life which Amarylis enjoyed. Large patches of farmland encased in ecospheres dot the border of the cities. Producing large quantities of food for the population of the planet.
  23.
  24. Even in the cities, there was still a slow pace of life around, cars were a rarity as lumis, dressed in an assortment of clothing made their way around on foot or using the underground train system. Amarylis and Zendora walked down the street, looking overhead as several other luminarians were floating in the air, propelled by their wings as they directed a construction crane.
  25.
  26. "Ama," Said Zendora, her fingers pointing at the flying luminarians. "How long more before I can fly like them?"
  27.
  28. "4 more years Zen." replies Amarylis, ruffling her sister's head. "In the meantime, you should concentrate on your studies."
  29.
  30. Luminarians below the age of 10 weren't allowed to use their wings in public, due to the disruption it caused when a horde of luminarian children flew everywhere during a school trip, knocking people down. Coupled with the fact that below the age of 9, the luminarian wings weren't fully developed. Barely capable of supporting their weight for less then a minute of flight
  31.
  32. "But I wanna fly! I don't like studying, its too boring anyways. " She says disdainfully. "4 years is too long for me."
  33.
  34. "It'll be over in a blink of an eye Zen. Trust me." replies Amarylis.
  35.
  36. "Ohhhhh kay" Replies Zendora. Her expression obviously shows that she doesn't trust her sister's words as they walk past the school gates.
  37.
  38. "Now, go join your friends, we'll see each other in 6 hours, until then, concentrate on your studies. Ok Zen?" Says Amarylis, looking into her sister's eyes. Passing zendora her bag.
  39.
  40. "FFFFiiiiiiinnnnneeee." Replies zendora, walking off to join a group of 6 year old luminarians currently enagegd in an active discussion. Turning around, Amarylis joined a group of 7 year olds
  41.
  42. Chapter 2: Attack
  43. 6 hours later
  44. Amarylis stretched her arms as she walked out of school. She didn't like being cooped up in a small room, taking down notes and doing homework. Taking in a deep breath, she remembered how much she loathed the classroom. She stood waiting at the gates, looking for Zendora. as hordes of luminarian children of different ages kept rushing through the gates.
  45.
  46. "Ama!" Came a squeal from the crowd, and zandora, came barrelling into Amarylis's arms. "I've missed you so much!" she says, nuzzling her head in Amarylis's chest.
  47.
  48. "Zen, Its only 6 hours." Replies Amarylis, her hands slowly patting Zendora's back. "Come on, lets go to the woods."
  49.
  50. Heading for the border of the city, the lush vegetation there had always attracted the both of them. Zendora had always liked the flora and fauna there, the smell, and touch of the plants had amused her when she was an infant. Amarylis quickly learnt that the woods was one of the places Zendora actually felt alive and hence, always brought ther to the woods after school. Amarylis enjoyed seeing her sister having fun, one of the few pleasures of being the eldest kid in the family, the ability to take care of siblings.
  51.
  52. Hours quickly passed as the both of them played in the woods. As they lay down on their backs, watching the sunset. As streaks of orange streaked through the purple sky, Zendora tugged at Amarylis's arm.
  53.
  54. "Ama, will you always be there for me?" asks zendora? Her eyes staring into Amarylis's.
  55.
  56. "Of course, Zendora, wherever, you may be, I'll always find you, one way or another. Be it in the heavens above, or the center of the galaxy." Replies Amarylis, putting an arm around her shoulder. "Why do you ask?"
  57.
  58. "Because today, our teacher told us that all luminarians must go to a place called war for at least 2 years when they're 16." Replies Zendora, with tears in her eyes. "She said that some people may not even come back from there."
  59.
  60. "Nonsense, I said I'll always be there for you, regardless of war or not." says Amarylis soothingly, her hands moving to wipe tears away from Zendora's eyes. "Now, come on, there's still 9 more years before that happens. So, raise your chin up, wipe those tears, and lets go home ok?"
  61.
  62. Zendora slowly stood up, raising her chin up high, and wiping tears from her eyes, the both of them slowly walked home, hand in hand.On the way however, something caught her eye. In the sky above, she could see a spaceship, firing its weapons. She stood transfixed, looking at the scene in the sky. Just as the luminarian cruiser burst into flames, the alarms sounded.
  63.
  64. The loud blare of the alarms shook Amarylis out of her stupor. The sirens could only mean one thing, the colony was under attack. Carrying Zendora on her shoulders, ignoring her objections, she ran back to the city as fast as she could. The entrance to the city was suddenly swarming with soldiers. Only after a soldier waved her in, did she run into the city.
  65.
  66. Caught in the flurry of the crowd, Amarylis and Zendora was quickly swept into a shelter along with other luminarians. The both of them slowly huddled together in a corner.
  67.
  68. "Ama, Whats going on?" Whispers Zendora nervously, her eyes wide with terror."Its dark and scary here. I wanna go home."
  69.
  70. "Zen, We'll have to stay here for a while, Just be quiet and we'll leave once they let us." Whispered amarylis nervously.
  71.
  72. "Okay." Replied Zendora, placing her head on Amarylis's lap, aand dozed off. Amarylis placed her hand on zendora's cheek, and slowly brushed it. When suddenly, the door burst open, revealing 3 huge grey armor clad humanoid aliens, with big grins on their faces.
  73.
  74. The next few minutes were a blurr, Amarylis heard gunfire, screams before something hit her wing, sending her flying face down into the hard concrete floor. The impact knocked every wisp of air from her lungs, as she lay there, struggling to inhale, to exhale. Her head's in a mess as she slowly tries to remember how to breathe, completely unable to breathe. Totally stunned. Only the sound of Zendora screaming brought her back to her senses.
  75.
  76. "Zen!" Shouts Amarylis, quickly looking around for zendora. "Zen!"
  77.
  78. "Ama!" shouts Zendora, her wrist being held by one of the aliens. Not caring about anything else, Amarylis, lunges at the alien, sinking her teeth into the aliens ankle.
  79.
  80. Amarylis could feel large hands holding onto her legs, trying to pull her off. And they did, along with a huge chunk of flesh from the alien's ankle. Hung upside down, She struggled like aa wounded animal. Sinking her teeth into whatever she could find, her arms thrashing violently against her captor's hands.
  81.
  82. "Goddamit. Fervion! Knock her out!, I can't hold her any longer!" A voice says.
  83.
  84. And not long, Amarylis barely registers something hitting the back of her head. And everything goes black.
  85.
  86. Chapter 3: Captive
  87. "Do you think she's alive?" says an unfamiliar voice.
  88.
  89. "She's still breathing, so I believe she is..." says another.
  90.
  91. The sound of hushed voices gently pulls Amarylis into consciousness. Groaning as she opens her eyes, a vague headache and a dull throbbing pain in her left wing pierces through the fog of haziness. Amarylis slowly stretched her arms, but realized, her wrists were bound together by something.
  92.
  93. "Urgh, where are we?" She asks
  94.
  95. "Ah good, she's awake." replies a voice in hushed tones. " We're in some sort of ship I think."
  96.
  97. "What?" exclaimed Amarylis. Quickly opening her eyes, she was sitting in some sort of cell, a rusted iron cell at that. To her sides , are 2 other luminarians, both about her age. Struggling against her bonds, She flailed around the cell, only stopping when the pain in her wing became unbearable. She didn't like the cell, where the walls reminded her of the classroom, stuck in there
  98.
  99. "Don't struggle, we've both tried." says the luminarian to her left. "You need to take care of that wound."
  100.
  101. Amaryllis quickly glanced to her left wing, the large amount of blood dripping from the huge hole in her wing threatened to regurgitate whatever is left in her stomach. Biting her tongue, she pried her eyes from the wound, forcing herself to look at the 2 other luminarians. THe one on the right had a huge gash in his right thigh, and a bad cut on his face, the one on the left had multiple bruises all over his body.
  102.
  103. "So, what's going to happen to us?" asks Amarylis, she could feel something in her throat now.
  104.
  105. "I've heard that we're going to be sent to something called the games." said the luminarian to her left. " I don't like the sound of it."
  106.
  107. "Me too, by the way, my name's Impetus, and he's Bogir." says the luminarian to her right. "What's yours?"
  108.
  109. "Amarylis." says Amarylis, staring at the cold hard floor. When suddenly, her memories came back hitting her forcefully in the gut. She hunches forward, the intensity of her memories lashed felt like a tsunami. She failed to save Zendora. The pain, spreads out from her stomach affecting every part of her body. She let her sister down.
  110.
  111. The emotions welled up in her heart, hammering against her ribcage. Tears welling up in her eyes. Her sister, Zendora, was now completely gone, and she was now forever alone, somewhere in space.
  112.
  113. Chapter 4: Yhorax
  114. "Wake up little children, you've got a long day ahead." shouted a guard, Ringing his keys across the bars of the cell, Jolting impetus, Bogir and Amarylis form their sleep.
  115.
  116. "Heh, you 3 better get ready for your big day ahead." snarled the guard. "Slave master Yhorax will be here any moment to get you guys ready for the games. So pay attention to whatever he says, if you wanna live that is."
  117.
  118. The guard laughs as he walks away, leaving the trio stunned in the cell.
  119.
  120. "So, I dont think these games are anything we've learnt in school" remarks Impetus.
  121.
  122. "You think?" Replies Amarylius, staring yet again at the bolts in the floor. It was too nightmarish for her to handle. and staring at the bolts was someway to preserve her sanity, as they sat in silence.
  123.
  124. An hour later, the silence is broken by heavy footsteps. Amarylius looked up, only to see a huge towering beast who she assumed to be yhorax.
  125.
  126. "So these are the contestants for the games?" snarled the Yhorax. "They better be stronger then the previous lot you guys gave me to train. Now, you 3. Get up and follow me."
  127.
  128. Amarylis slowly struggled to her feet, it was like ages since she stood up properly, the same could be said for Impetus and Borgis as they both had trouble getting up.
  129.
  130. The 3 of them slowly followed Yhorax out of their cell, walking through the winding passageways. Amarylis was soon lost in the winding passageways of the ship, until they reached an empty room.
  131.
  132. "Line up in a line here." said Yhorax as he gesture to a wall. Obediently, the 3 lined up backs pressing against the wall as Yhorax folded his arms akimbo and stared at them, as if trying to give them a mental patdown.
  133.
  134. "You!" shouted Yhorax, his finger pointing at Amarylis. "What's your name?"
  135.
  136. "Amarylis."
  137.
  138. "Hrm, Your build suits an archer. Can you wield a bow?" asks Yhorax. His finger scratching away at his chin, or what seems to be his chin.
  139.
  140. "I've never fired one before." replies Amaryils
  141.
  142. "You'd better, you wouldn't last long in a sword fight, or any form of combat involving physical combat. You'd have the best chance surviving the games with a bow." Replies Yhorax.
  143.
  144. "Wait." Amaryils burst out, Yhorax turned back to her with an irritated look on his face. "What are these games?"
  145.
  146. "The games are a form of entertainment for these pirates, Where they pit children like you, ages from 6-14 in a form of gladitorial combat. 24 children pitted against each other in an arena, where only 1 can survive. The winner gets a chance to leave the ship, depending if you please the crowd enough." Replies Yhorax without a hint of emotion in his voice.
  147.
  148. Amarylis stood in shock, 24 children, where only 1 survives? The chances of her surviving the ordeal is slim, next to impossible. She was already the youngest, and the weakest of the 3, compared to the 24.
  149.
  150. After analysing both impetus and borgis's strengths, Yhorax directed them through the wInding passageways. Before reaching another room, that contained weapons and dummies. Yhorax unlocked the shackles on their wrists, giving them a few moments to soothe their aching skin.
  151.
  152. "Now, you 3, don't think you can easily overpower me even when you're armed with weapons. I can take all 3 of you on without breaking a sweat." threatens Yhorax. " Now you, flower girl, take this bow, as for you boys, take this spears."
  153.
  154. Amarylis cringed at her nickname. But nonetheless yhorax was the best they could get. And despite the fact that only 1 could survive, she worked together with both impetus and borgis.
  155.
  156.
  157. Chapter 5: The Games
  158. 3 days of the same routine, Eat, train, Eat, sleep. 3 long and tiring days, but it was finally over. The day of the games had arrived.
  159.
  160. Amarylis, yawned as she slowly woke up, grabbing the small bowl of gruel set beside her, finishing it as quickly as possible. Looking around at her companions, Impetus was wide awake, staring at the bolts in the floor, while borgis still slept like a baby. Something still nagged at her though.
  161.
  162. "Hey Impetus."
  163.
  164. Prying his eyes from the floor, "What is it?" Impetus replies.
  165.
  166. "If you survive this, give my parents my best would you?" amarylis says.
  167.
  168. "Count on it, and do the same for me will you?" says Impetus.
  169.
  170. "Will do."
  171.
  172. 3 hours later, the trio are led to a small room, with 3 metal plates, on the rusted iron floor, small bloodstains can still be seen on it, and its prescence does unnerve Amarylis a bit. Yhorax stands at the side of the wall, a scowl on his face. He points to the metal plates, indicating the 3 of us to stand on it.
  173.
  174. "Now, you three." He says gruffly. " Don't die."
  175.
  176. A black glass cylinder descends, Carrying the plates and the trio into the arena. When the plates stop moving, Amarliys felt shackles binding her wrists together and the glass windows receed, Amarliys lets out a gasp. This isn't a place for her to be.
  177.
  178. The arena is a barren desert.
  179.
  180. Chapter 6: Arena
  181.
  182. Amarylis stood, shackled at the wrists. Her eyes darting around the bloodstained arena, she shivered at the sight of her competitors. Xenos captured by pirates, most of them the same age she was. A few steps from her was a metal bow with a quiver of arrows , already strung, waiting to be engaged lying in the sand. She knew she had to reach it, her only lifeline in an arena, filled with 23 other children, their ages ranging from 7-10,
  183.
  184. 'Sixty seconds. Thats how long before the sound of a gong releases the gladiators. Step off before the minute is up, land mines blow your legs off.' Repeated the words of Yhorax in her head. The tension in her nerves was starting to get to her. Being the youngest and smallest of the group, she knew the odds of her surviving the match would be slim, even hopeless. Everyone else was bigger, stronger then her. Everyone was positioned in a ring around a metal pillar, positioned in the middle of the arena. Their weapon of choices placed infront of them. Amarylis noticed the Green lizardish alien to her right had a couple of wicked looking knives in front of him. To her left was Borgis, his spear glimmered in the arena's light.
  185.
  186. And for the second time before the games started, Amarylis gasped. at the far right of the ring, stood Zendora. She lost her momentarily lost her footing, stunned at the thought of her sister being in the same arena, where only one person can survive at this
  187.
  188. Then, the sound of Nes'itri, the announcer, booms accross the arena, silencing the chatter of the pirates with his voice.
  189.
  190. "Pirates and scallywags, let the games begin!"
  191.
  192. And the gong rang.
  193.
  194. Chapter 7: Bloodbath
  195. "Dammit!" Cursed Amarylis. The extra seconds lost by not being ready, her feet shuffle for a moment, confused whether should it go for cover or towards Zendora. Lunging forward, She scooped up her bow and arrows, before running to the back to the arena, away from the bloodbath currently occuring in the middle. When suddenly, Amarylis felt a hand on her shoulder. Quickly spinning around, only to recieve a huge glob of blood on her face, WIping it away, she saw the body of the green lizard alien infront of her. Quickly swiping the 2 knives, amarylius looked up to see a huge brute, charging straight at her, mace in one hand and a throwing knife in another. The general fear Amarylis had been feeling immediately condenses into an immediate fear of the brute, this predator who could kill in mere seconds. Diving out of the way as the brute barrels pass, giving Amarylis a nasty cut on her tail. Adrenaline, or the luminarian equivelant helps erase the pain as she notches an arrow, and sends it firing into its neck. driving it deeply into his neck. The brute falls to his knees, and halves the remainder of his life by yanking it out.
  196.
  197. Turning away from the corpse of the brute, amarylis looked around the bloodbath, Corpses lie around the metal pillar, while more skirmishes rage on, In such an arena, kills come quickly. Amarylis looks at the bodies, looking for impetus, zendora or borgis. Finding only borgis, impaled on his stomach, his corpse slowly moving doen the shaft dure to graviity. Breakfast threatens to make a reappearance, and she looks away to find Impetus locked in combat with a weird purple humanoid alien. Multiple gashes are found on his face, and blood is flowing from one of his eyesockets.
  198.
  199. Amarylis ran towards Impetus, her hand reaching into the quiver and immediately pulling on hew bowstring before letting loose an arrow, it punctures the aliens left arm. Shocked by the pain, he lowers his guard to look at the wound, only to be knocked to the floor by Impetus, and impaled by Impetus's spear. Blood gushes out of the wound, seeping into the floor of the arena.
  200.
  201. "Thanks for the save." replies Impetus. "This bastard killed Borgis."
  202.
  203. Amarylis looks at the body in disgust, the sight of Borgis's corpse causes her stomach to churn.
  204.
  205. "Impetus, We need to team up, there's still 14 other children out there, and I think I've spotted my sister, her names Zendora." says Amarylis. "Did you know where she went?"
  206.
  207. "I've got a hunch. Come on, I think I know where she went." Replies Impetus.
  208.
  209. Chapter 8: Zendora
  210.
  211. "I think she's behind that rock." Impetus says, pointing to a cluster of rocks at the edge of the arena. "She'll recognise you, not me. I'll watch our backs in the meantime."
  212.
  213. "Alright." replies Amarylis. Making her way up the sane dune.
  214.
  215. Trudging up the sand dune, the sounds of the arena go distant. The adrenaline leaves amarylis, and she becomes aware of the cut in her tail, taking a moment to examine the wound, the blood pools in the wound, as the cut is deep, straight to the bone. Ignoring the wound, she continues on, to find Zendora hiding behind the rocks.
  216.
  217. "Zen?" asks Amarylis.
  218.
  219. "Ama?" replies zendora, her eyes perk up at the sight of Amarylis. "What are you doing here?"
  220.
  221. "Didn't I promise you? I'll always be there for you, wherever you may be, be it the heavens above, or the center of the galaxy." says Amarylis, tears welling in both their eyes. "Come on, chin up, wipe your tears, and lets go."
  222.
  223. "Alright Ama." Replies Zendora, Raising her chin up high, wiping her tears.
  224.
  225. "Thats better, come we better get goi--"
  226.
  227. A body flies towards them. Leaving a trail of blood, before landing behind Amarylis. Impetus, with a large sword induced wound, all the way from the stomach to the head.
  228.
  229. "Sorry." Croaks impetus. Before he falls silent.
  230.
  231. Chapter 9: Finale
  232.
  233. Both Amarylis and Zendora stare at the corpse of Impertus, their faces fixed in shock. Turning around, Amarylis turned to find, 2 corpses in the ground, and 1 Aeonite barreling straight towards Zendora.
  234.
  235. BAM! The aeonite barrels straight into zendora, catching her off guard. The two of them roll down the dune, in a flurry of scratches, shouts and screams.
  236.
  237. "Zen!" Cries Amarylis. Grabbing her bow, she runs after the pair. Quickly notching an arrow in her bow. running as fast as she can, fear rising up in her chest, threatening to suffocate her. the pair suddenly stops moving, the aeonite, his foot on zendora's chest. A wicked looking sword in his hand.
  238.
  239. "Ama!" Screams Zendora. Her hand reaches out towards amarylis, just as the sword pierces her stomach.
  240.
  241. The Aeonite lets out a large squawk, before rolling over, an arrow lodged into its chest. Kicking him out of the way. Amarylis quickly grabs Zendora's hands. Her heart falls at the sight of the wound, Its beyond her capacity to heal it, beyond anyone's probably. The Sword, is buried up to the hilt in her stomach. Amarylis kneels down, staring helplessly at the embedded weapon. There's no point in saying anything comforting, Even Zendora, knows it too.
  242.
  243. "Ama." Says Zendora, her hands tightening around Amaryils's wrists. "When you said you'll be there for me, be it the heavens above or the center of the galaxy?"
  244.
  245. "Yes I did." Says Amarylis shakily, tears coming out of her eyes in streams. Her hands tighten around Zendora's, as if it was a lifeline. As if it was her dying instead of Zendora.
  246.
  247. "This time, take your time Ama, I'll wait as long as you need." whispers Zendora, her voice slowly fading away. "I'll wait there, no matter how long it takes."
  248.
  249. "I'll be there for you Zen. One day." says Amarylis.
  250.
  251. "Then, I'll see you there, in....the....woods...." croaks Zendora, before her hands fall limp.
  252.
  253. "I'll be there, someday Zen. I Promise." Replies Amarylis, letting zendora's hand fall on the sand. Her small figure, lying on the sand. Like a baby animal, curled up in a nest of netting. She could really be sleeping, if not for the sword in her stomach.Looking at the Aeonite, who too looks vulnerable in death. It would be hard for her to hate the aeonite that ended Zendora's life. Instead, she looked up into the grandstands. The faces of the cheering pirates, celebrating her victory at what? Letting her own sister die? Rage burned deep in her body, a raging inferno, that cannot be stopped. She stared back into every single one of those pirates faces. Every single one of them, they will pay for what they did today.
  254.
  255. Chapter 10: Not over
  256. The next day, Amarylis opened her eyes, finding herself back in the cell. The sight of the cell jolts her back with a nasty pang, "They'll never come back." she mutters to herself.
  257.
  258. "So awake already?" says a voice.
  259.
  260. Quickly getting on her feet, amarylis looks qround the cell suspiciously. "who's there?"
  261.
  262. "Calm down." Says Yhorax, as he steps into sight.
  263.
  264. "Its you..." mutters Amarylis.
  265.
  266. "So, how do you feel about the games?" asks Yhorax.
  267.
  268. "I'd prefer to die." says Amarylis, "It's better then staying alive now..."
  269.
  270. "I'd wish you had" Says Yhorax
  271.
  272. Of all the things Amarylis expected to yhorax to say, this was not one of them.
  273.
  274. "What?" asks Amarylis.
  275.
  276. "I said, I wished you had died."He stares straight into Amarylis, astonishing her with the intensity of his gaze. "Once you were on this ship, the only way to get out is through death.
  277.
  278. "What do you mean?" Asks Amarylis.
  279.
  280. "They'll never bring you back home. You'll never leave this ship alive, even if you manage to, your mind will still be trapped in that arena, until you die."
  281.
  282. "How...how do you know?"
  283.
  284. "I was a past victor too" Yhorax replies. "25 years ago."
  285.
  286. And the truth sinks in, she would never leave the games alive. Every waking moment, even in her dreams,
  287.
  288. Chapter 11: Pain
  289.
  290. 3 Years later...
  291.
  292. Amarylis sat in the same damp cell, eating the same rations for 3 years, staring at the bolts in the cell. No one bothered her, only coming in to serve her food and water. For no apparent reason too. She didn't care.
  293.
  294. The cell gates were unlocked, she could have freely gone anywhere if she wanted to, but she stood rooted to the same spot in the cell, even after repeated coaxing by Yhorax, she still went back to the exact same spot every night.
  295.
  296. One day, Yhorax entered her cell. "Amarylis" He called.
  297.
  298. "Yes." she replied, in a dull monotonous voice she used for the past few years.
  299.
  300. "I'll keep this brief, Pirate lord Kovaius has recieved word that a luminarian fleet is inbound on us, he wants you killed. But can't do that without inciting a possible riot. So he's sending you back to the games to face Reginald, a past victor." says Yhorax.
  301.
  302. "I don't care." replied Amarylis. "I'll be glad when death comes."
  303.
  304. "Well, then, be ready by tommorrow." says Yhorax, before leaving Amarylis alone.
  305.
  306. Chapter 12: Death
  307.
  308. The metal plate rose, straight into the arena. The familiar arena smell wrecked through her body, forcing her to the ground. Forcing her emotions under control, she slowly stood up, taking in the arena. Everything remained the same, the position of the rocks, the metal pillar in the center. but now, with only 1 experienced opponent instead of 23 other scared terrified children.
  309.
  310. The familiar voice boomed in her ears.
  311.
  312. "Pirates and scallywags, let the games begin!"
  313.
  314. And the gong rang.
  315.
  316. At the sound of the gong, amarylis's shackles broke apart, she lunged forward, grabbing the bow and the quiver of arrows lying at the same spot as it had 3 years ago. She quickly notched an arrow and scanned the arena, no sign of reginald. She cautiously strafed the metal pillar in a clockwise direction. When BAM, amarylis found herself on the ground, pinned to the ground by an unknown figure.
  317.
  318. "6 years of not being in the arena, and when they finally let me in, its to kill a weakling?" Shouted a gruff voice, "Fine, i'll make your death slow and agonizing."
  319.
  320. Amarylis felt 2 hands grabbing her wings, struggling to break free from his grasp, but to no avail, she was picked up by reginald, and hurled straight towards a rock wall.
  321.
  322. Amarylis's wings crumpled on contact with the rock, her spine fared no better. The pain in her back was excruciating, sparing a look to her wings, she quickly turned away, what was left of her wings resembled a molten cocoon. She struggled to get up, her legs refused to budge.
  323.
  324. "Finally, tethered to the ground now aren't you? Lets get started then, this will hurt a lot." says reginald. Pinning Amarylis to the ground using his foot. "Now lets see, lets start with your legs."
  325.
  326. Grabbing a huge serrated knife from his belt, In one swift stroke, quickly detached amarylis's leg. Blood flowed out at a fast rate, quickly staining the sand blood red in no time flat. Thank goodness she couldn't feel her legs anymore.
  327.
  328. "Just kill me and get this over and done with." said amarylis through gritted teeth, she could feel the blood loss already.
  329.
  330. "Now that wouldn't be fun would it?"snarls Reginald, his blue arms quickly opening multiple wounds in her body.
  331.
  332. "Just end it already!" Moaned amarylis, struggling frantically against the huge figure of reginald.
  333.
  334. "Hmph, Pesky runt." Snarls Reginald.
  335.
  336. In one quick flick of his wrist, the blade sliced through Amarylis's right arm, severing tendons, skin, meat and bone.
  337.
  338. Pain coursed through her body. A flash of white appeared in her vision. She couldn't see anything but white. The pain, to intense for her to bear as Amarylis, thrashed around the floor, pinned in place by Reginald's foot.
  339.
  340. For 20 minutes, Reginald continued to work away on amarylis, opening deep gashes and ripping large chunks of skin and meat from her body.
  341.
  342. "Please, kill me already!" amarylis begged, her body barely resembled that of a luminarian, her skin flayed, leaving about 30% of grey skin left.
  343.
  344. "Fine then, So be it." replies reginald, raising his knife, he plunged the blade into one of her eye sockets.
  345.
  346. And then, there was gunfire.
  347.
  348. Chapter 13: Rescue
  349.
  350. Commander spark led the assault through the pirate infested hallways, quickly dispatching the rowdy and uncoordinated attacks of the pirates. Moving deeper into the ship and rescuing prisoners held there.
  351.
  352. "Commander, You've got to see this, bring some medics with you." Buzzed a voice over her communnicator.
  353.
  354. "Understood." Spark gestured to 4 medics, "You 4, follow me, the rest of you keep combing the hallways."
  355.
  356. Sprinting through the hallways, the medics trailing behind her, using her minimap to guide her through the winding passageways, until she arrived at the arena. Corpses of pirates littered the grandstands above. She slowly walked into the center of the arena, where sergent Erikan awaited her.
  357.
  358. "Commander, over here." He motioned, his face filled with worry.
  359.
  360. Quickly rushing over, Spark arrived where Erikan was pointing. And saw the body of a mutilated luminarian lying in a corner. 4 soldiers were currently using what ever medical equipment they had on it.
  361.
  362. "By spode, what the hell happened here?" she asked, motioning to the 4 soldiers attempting to staunch the blood coming from the body.
  363.
  364. "God knows, we'd better get her intensive medical attention." Replies one of the soldiers, pointing to the medics that just arrived, "Get this luminarian to intensive medical care ASAP, use that dropship over there."
  365.
  366. The 4 medics immediately complied, quickly grabbing a piece of cloth to use as a makeshift stretcher,Gently hauling the body onto the makeshift stretcher and left for the dropship.
  367.
  368. "What the hell is this place?" Asks spark, her eyes flirting all over the arena. "To torture someone that badly? In front of that many spectators?"
  369.
  370. "Commander, that luminarian, she looked about 10 years old, she wouldn't have known any important information about our empire, I believe this is some sort of gladiator match arena." Erikan replied. His face contorted with disgust. "And If i'm not mistaken, children were sent to fight here, if we believe that that child was indeed fighting in an arena. We should blow this damm ship into oblivion. We've been tailing this damm fleet for 3 years, how many matches could thay have held here? How many of our own children sacrificed here just for entertainment?" He spat into the ground. "We should blow this place sky high, I can barely stand the smell anymore."
  371.
  372. "I know how you feel Erikan, thats why we're here. "
  373.
  374. Chapter 14: Recollections
  375.
  376. 2 weeks later, Unidentified Luminarian medical facility
  377.
  378. "Status report?" asked spark.
  379.
  380. "She's stable for now, we've managed to repair what's left of her spine giving back her motor control over her limbs, though We can't attach any re-growth parts due to the blood poisoning. It had already reached her chest before we could cure it, any minute later and she would have died.As for her limbs, we could use mechanical prosthetics, though we still need to deal with the failure of multiple organs, she lost both her kidneys, her stomach suffered multiple wounds and the blood poisoning damaged one of her eyes, the other, destroyed by a knife wound. Her vocal chords also seem to have recieved some damage." replies the doctor, a datapad in his hand. "We don't even know the state of her mental being yet. Her brainwaves seemed to indicate that she was awake when she lost her arm and leg, For a 10 year old, that must be mentally scarring, it could also affect her will to live. And from my experience, that's extremely important."
  381.
  382. "By the gods, its a miracle she survived all that." says spark, looking at the remains of Amarylis lying unconscious on a metal bed. " 3 years in that hellhole. Forced to participate in such gruesome matches..."
  383.
  384. "Indeed." replies the doctor. "But, we can't heal her back to normal, her other organs will be failing soon, We could try to keep her alive by encasing her in a bacta tank, and even that will take 750 years before she's completely cured, both the physical and mental trauma has deteriorated her body considerably."
  385.
  386. "Is there any other ways of saving her life?" asks spark
  387.
  388. "There's another, we could integrate her body with a battlesuit, something like the reaper battlesuits, but unlike the reaper suits, hers would have to be permanent, we'll have to rewire her prosthetics directly to her brain. But it'll keep her alive." replies the doctor.
  389.
  390. "If that'll give her a second chance at life, go ahead and do it." says spark
  391.
  392. "Understood."
  393.
  394. Spark moves over towards Amarylis, propping a gooble plushie on the table beside it, looking at the broken body of amarylis, before leaving.
  395.
  396. Chapter 15: Shock
  397.
  398. 1 month later
  399.
  400. Amarylis, slowly opened her eyes, pressing against the surface of something she couldn't recognize, was it Metal? Plastic? She couldn't tell. her memories were foggy, couldn't make out any scenes from her past, she didn't bother. Her eyes flirted across the room, quickly focusing on the gooble plushie. Reaching out her right hand, she grabbed the plushie, and nuzzled it between her neck. When she suddenly realized, she couldn't feel the soft fur. She stared at the gooble plushie as if it was poisonous. Quickly tossing the gooble plushie away, she examined her right and left arms, her left was still functional, just encased in some armor, the right, was some sort of metal appendage, shaped like a hand. Staring mutely into her right arm, her memories came flooding back with such force.
  401.
  402. She rolled off the bed, landing with a loud thump. Expecting to find pain, but instead felt nothing. using her left hand, she felt her back, a chill went up her spine when she realized her back was completely made up of metal. Quickly fumbling on the floor, she slowly stood up, using her left hand to touch her face. only feeling the rough metal. she stumbled backwards into the bed.
  403.
  404. "What happened to me." She muttered aloud, as she examined her body, hands and legs. All were encased in some sort of metal armor.
  405.
  406. "So your finally awake." said a voice. Quickly turning around, amarylis grabbed the metal table in one arm, prepared to fling it at the voice. "Woah, easy there. I'm here, everything's fine."
  407.
  408. Spark stepped out from the observation room. Upon seeing a fellow luminarian, Amarylis lowered the metal table.
  409.
  410. "Where, Where am I." She blurts out, still haven't gotten over the shock of finding most of her body, encased in metal.
  411.
  412. "Your in the Novus Medical Station, your in safe hands." replies spark in a soothing tone.
  413.
  414. "What have you done to me?" asks amarylis
  415.
  416. "When we found you in that arena, your wounds were so grevious that the only way to save your life was to inter you in a battlesuit." replies spark, "it was that or spend 750 years in a bacta tank."
  417.
  418. "What happened to me?" asks Amarylis plaintatively, "What did I lose?"
  419.
  420. Spark looked at her with sad eyes, "You lost your wings, your right arm, your left leg, both your eyes and several of your major organs."
  421.
  422. Amarylis sinks to her knees, both her hands grabbing her metal face. "What will my parents say?"
  423.
  424. Spark slowly approached her, putting her arm over Amarylis's shoulder. "Amarylis, Terrius is gone."
  425.
  426. Chapter 16: Loss
  427.
  428. Amarylis stared straight at Spark. "It cannot be, it just cannot be." she wails.
  429.
  430. "Terrius was destroyed right after the pirates left. Everyone on the planet was gone." says spark calmingly.
  431.
  432. Amarylis just continued to kneel, her head, arms unmoving. Spark slowly left her alone. After about 30 mins, Amarylis, shakily got to her feet. "That bastard. That pirate lord. He took everything from me, My parents, everyone I knew and loved. He took my dreams, my hopes, my senses, and everything that made me a luminarian!" and she cried, large sobs wracking her body.
  433.
  434. And then it hit her. Zendora, the pain of it drove her headfirst into the floor. The only person she truly loved, who had a much brighter future then she. Who had her own dreams and hopes. Gone, snuffed out at the young age of 6, by that pirate lord.
  435.
  436. Grabbing her head, She ripped out large amounts of metal and plastic with her hands. Howling like an injured animal, as she lay on the ground, letting the darkness consume her.
  437.
  438. Chapter 17: Reason to live
  439.
  440. 3 months later
  441.
  442. Amarylis, walked through the hallways, and barging straight into the office of commander spark, ignoring the guards stares and looks of amazement. Spark looked up and waved the guards away, directing her attention to Amarylis, she asked, "What can I do for you amarylis?"
  443.
  444. "I want to sign up for the military, commander." she replied in a flat monotonous voice.
  445.
  446. "Why would you want to do such a thing?" spark asked
  447.
  448. "That's the only place I can get any form of information on that pirate lord's whereabouts, since no one here wants to inform me of anything related to that." Amarylis says. "Thats the only thing left worth to live for, taking down that bastard."
  449.
  450. "Are you sure about that Amarylis?"
  451.
  452. "I'm bloody sure!" Amarylis replies, her voice cracking with rage and anger. "That bastard turned me into some sort of mechanical freak! He took everything dear to me and left me with nothing!" She slammed her fist into the table. "He killed my sister! I will make sure he pays tenfold for that along with everyone else who stands in my way. Be it Luminarian, Aeonite, Zoroxian or any other xeno will be dealt in the same way!"
  453.
  454. "Very well then, Amarylis, you start tommorrow, you'll be under the 5th heavy support squadron under my command. Is that fine with you?" replies spark
  455.
  456. "That would be most appreciated commander, please inform me of any information you have about this pirate lord's whereabouts if you can find any." replied Amarylis, reverting to her original monotonus voice.
  457.
  458. "I will, you may leave now." says Spark staring into Amarylis's mechanical head.
  459.
  460. "Thank you." replies Amarylis, and she walked out of the office.
  461.
  462. "Zendora, forgive me, but there's a few matters I must settle. For you, for our parents, for everyone on Terrius. Once I'm done, I'll be there for you, one way or another, be it in the heavens above, or the center of the galaxy, always by your side, forever."
