So far, the crudely drawn butterfly-winged pegasus has done a loop-de-loop and the alicorn with the extremely long neck has eaten so much pie that she is wearing the crust around her neck like an ersatz necklace.
  24. [2016-02-24 13:51:05] <Mare-Do-Well> 3And now, the /Rainbow Connection/, once a small airship, has been transformed into a fully-enclosed submersible. A pirate shaman has re-negotiated the pact with the Spirit of Wind whose power is bound into the ship. Now, instead of making the /Rainbow Connection/ fly faster, the spirit will ensure the vessel is filled with fresh, breathable air.

  26. [2016-02-24 13:51:48] * Golden_Dream coughs. SO. Now that that's out of the system. "So, let's, uh. Let's go to that place what with th' dragons. Get us a place where we can drop off sommathese here tykes. You all 'kay with that? I'm 'kay with that." She blinks as she sees as the changes to the Rainbow Connection hits. "Oh. Um."

  28. [2016-02-24 13:54:25] * Noble_Heart looks over the Rainbow Connection curiously. She hadn't seen such a construction before. "A ship that travels underwater. Fascinating." She rubbed her chin with a forehoof. "We wonder if the Zebras ever had anything like this during the war."
  29. [2016-02-24 13:55:51] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Kifaa nods to Golden_Dream, looking over the /Rainbow Connection/ proudly.
  30. [2016-02-24 13:57:01] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana looks happy and a bit goofy. He throws a foreleg over Golden_Dream in a snug. At Noble_Heart's words, he nods. "We did."
  31. [2016-02-24 13:57:02] * Bookwright "I still can't quite believe my eyes. That thing is supposed to go under the water? Does being under the waves prevent seasickness?"
  32. [2016-02-24 13:58:36] * CopyCat keeps glancing in the direction of Golden_Dream and Mwana, giggling and coquettishly hiding her mouth behind a fan of wing feathers.
  33. [2016-02-24 13:59:51] * Shatara looks over the air-turned-sub-ship with a curious technical eye.
  34. [2016-02-24 13:59:56] * Get_Lost thinks a lot, then asks "it is made of wood and fileld with air... how the hay do you think that it could ever sink?"
  35. [2016-02-24 14:04:07] * Golden_Dream nuzzles under Mwana's chin. This whole deal was a long time coming. And, well. There came the idea that she'd never get to see him again rooted in the whole Mother of Balefire fight. Or anyone. That there'd be no more sensation, just a big nothing, or being trapped somewhere.
  36. [2016-02-24 14:04:28] * Noble_Heart tilts her head to one side. "They must be using some kind of ballast. The same way that airships avoid simply floating higher indefinitely."
  37. [2016-02-24 14:04:49] * Bookwright stifles a comment about the amount of ballast that Noble_Heart and CopyCat could provide.
  38. [2016-02-24 14:05:12] * Golden_Dream 's eyes open widely and sharply, her breath accelerating, before she managed to just chuckle the anxiety off. Totally healthy. Right.
  39. [2016-02-24 14:05:24] * CopyCat does not stifle blowing a raspberry at Bookwright.
  40. [2016-02-24 14:06:35] * Get_Lost nodnods "could be... with proper math, i think we could mount something on that thing... something that can co ballistic... you know, launching missiles from a random oceanic location makes them a lot harder to see and intercept"
  41. [2016-02-24 14:08:36] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Jugeote informs Shatara, "Kifaa and I are supposed to be taking that thing through the portal. No telling what is on the other side. Hopefully, a fresh new world free of radiation and poison and Imperials. But there is a real chance we will be sailing into the heart of a volcano, or something equally not survivable. So... this might be goodbye."
  42. [2016-02-24 14:09:48] * Get_Lost whistles some somber musinc, watching the submarine "did they change the name?"
  43. [2016-02-24 14:11:03] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Kifaa pulls out schematics and shows Get_Lost how the submersible works.
  44. [2016-02-24 14:11:25] * Get_Lost sits and learns something new
  45. [2016-02-24 14:12:23] * Mitzi looks at the converted airship as Hunter nibbles her ear. "Uh'm not sure Eef dats wurse ur not."
  46. [2016-02-24 14:15:45] * Get_Lost seems very interested "uh... how many passengers can that thing carry? i mean... you could use a medic..."
  47. [2016-02-24 14:17:32] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana answers, "Well, the usable space inside is a fair bit less than it was before. But with the spirit, you won't have to worry about running out of air... so there's definitely space for more."
  48. [2016-02-24 14:17:53] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The zebra pirates do a last series of checks. Jugeote gives Shatara a kiss.
  49. [2016-02-24 14:18:17] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Kifaa opens the top hatch and tosses a few last-minute supplies inside.
  50. [2016-02-24 14:18:19] * Get_Lost turns towards the others, she has no eyes but is trying anyway to make her best puppy beggng eyes. she utterly fails
  51. [2016-02-24 14:18:44] * Noble_Heart frowns. "We are not certain it would be wise for us to go with them."
  52. [2016-02-24 14:20:36] * Shatara frowns and leans into Jugeote's kiss, breifly pulling her close. "Are you sure? I mean...you have no idea what's over there...for all anyone knows, it could be the dimention of pirate-eating megacorporations or something..."
  53. [2016-02-24 14:21:05] * Get_Lost bites her lip "uh.... yeah, sure... but maybe... just a test run... you know... to... try it? maybe?"
  54. [2016-02-24 14:25:55] * Bookwright "I, uh... I have problems with enclosed spaces. Um. Otherwise I'd totally love to go with..."
  55. [2016-02-24 14:32:29] * Golden_Dream shrugs. "Eh, fugget. We're likely t' die no matter where th' hell we wind up goin'. That's jus' kinda our luck. Might as well see somethin' cool before it happens." She mentions, maybe a /bit/ coldly.
  56. [2016-02-24 14:34:26] * Get_Lost "that's the spirit, kid!"
  57. [2016-02-24 14:40:25] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Jugeote nods to Shatara. "Remember the temple? We're the expendable scouts. We get all the fun jobs."
  58. [2016-02-24 14:41:17] * Noble_Heart frowns at Golden Dream's comments. "We have things that yet need doing. Miss Doo is counting on us to rescue her. If we were to die now, then there would be no one left who could reach her in time to save her before she suffers the fate of becoming feral."
  59. [2016-02-24 14:44:29] * Get_Lost "uhm... yeah,that's a good point... still, i think that i could really help the zebras not being dead if i join the test run of that submersible boat... also, if something will happen to me, you can also survive the loss"
  60. [2016-02-24 14:47:32] * Golden_Dream snerks. "No we fuggin' can't. You're the medic. We got, like. Nobody else that stitch us up in case shit goes wrong."
  61. [2016-02-24 14:50:37] * Get_Lost frowns "i'm not going to argue about this point." pauses, not specifying further the meaning of her words. is still looking at the submarine
  62. [2016-02-24 14:52:24] * CopyCat 's smile has faded away and her head hangs low in front of her. "I-I don't want you to leave us, Get_Lost," she says quietly.
  63. [2016-02-24 14:52:28] * Bookwright "Well, if Get Lost can't be dissuaded... Maybe... Maybe one of us who can teleport should go with with her. Just in case something goes wrong."
  64. [2016-02-24 14:55:26] * Golden_Dream frowns. "Where they're goin', I doubt they'll be in range of any teleport that can be cast." She looks at Get Lost, snorted, then looks down, looking a tad disappointed. "Yeah, you can. You jus' don't wanna, 'cause you know you'd lose."
  65. [2016-02-24 14:55:47] * Mare-Do-Well 3frowns. "No way your letting one of your own go alone."
  66. [2016-02-24 14:56:31] * Golden_Dream snorts. "No. I'm not. So we're kinda at a crossroads here. Either we all go in th' magic boat, or we all fuckin' book for the Dragon border."
  67. [2016-02-24 14:56:38] * Noble_Heart nods her head. "It would be most unwise for one of us to go on this journey without the others. But We also tend to feel that going on this journey is a risk unto itself." She frowns heavily. "Though the chaos spirit's words are concerning..."
  68. [2016-02-24 14:58:34] * Get_Lost sighs "okay... uh... let's say we don't go and do the smart thing, that is, saving ditzy.... i'm fine with that... i could still simply take a look inside the thing and see how it works, maybe? is that okay?"
  69. [2016-02-24 14:58:52] * Shatara nods slowly, understanding Jugeote's words, but clearly not fond of them. He sits with her quietly, not sure what he could say that would be of any use.
  70. [2016-02-24 14:59:14] * CopyCat grumps, "Where is that guy, anyway? It's terribly rude to hint that you know the answer to an important mystery before just vanishing."
  71. [2016-02-24 14:59:22] * Get_Lost "then one day i'm going to build one myself, with hookers and security ponies."
  72. [2016-02-24 15:01:49] * CopyCat is a little voice in Shatara's head. {'Be honest. Say that you'll miss her.'} She encourages.
  73. [2016-02-24 15:08:37] * Shatara fidgets a little and blushes. "I...erm...I'll miss you..."
  74. [2016-02-24 15:10:51] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Jugeote gives Shatara a hug. She whispers in his ear, "I'll miss you too."
  75. [2016-02-24 15:20:55] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Jugeote breaks the hug and joins Kifaa. The two zebra pirates board the /Rainbow Connection/, disappearing into the hatch.
  76. [2016-02-24 15:21:21] * Shatara squeezes her a little tighter before releasing the zebra to unknown fates.
  77. [2016-02-24 15:22:02] * Noble_Heart swallows nervously. SHe did her best to put on a stoic face, but was more than a little concerned.
  78. [2016-02-24 15:23:24] * Get_Lost calls inside the thing "guys, remember! if you sing while doing something, it is proven that it will have a better chance to have success!"
  79. [2016-02-24 15:23:48] * Bookwright "Be sure to keep detailed logs! Write down everything!"
  80. [2016-02-24 15:25:47] * Get_Lost "parlay, be a dearie and take a couple of pics of our friends, yes?" then calls at the two scouts "now please smile and make silly faces at parlay, we will commemorate the launch!"
  81. [2016-02-24 15:28:25] * CopyCat waves goodbye, blowing her nose on a hoofkerchief. "Be sure to wrap up warm and don't talk to any bug-eyed monsters!"
  82. [2016-02-24 15:28:36] * Golden_Dream furrows her brow in wonder and horror of what is to come. She knew not where it was going, for it was unknowable. Hopefully, it would be a place where the grass was lush and inviting, where good things happened all the time, and where no freaky creatures lived.
  83. [2016-02-24 15:30:03] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Kifaa and Jugeote wave up to Get_Lost and smile for Parlay.
  84. [2016-02-24 15:31:18] * Get_Lost the robot takes some pics, then get leaves them alone, sighing. she still feels like she had to go, but it couldn't really be done this time
  85. [2016-02-24 15:31:30] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Then a hoof reaches up and closes the hatch. With a metallic scraping sound, the wheel spins and the hatch seals. The ship slowly lowers towards the lake.
  86. [2016-02-24 15:32:50] <Mare-Do-Well> 3As the /Rainbow Connection/ touches the dark water, sending the first ripples, the Captain of the Cutlass says a few words, wishing them a safe journey.
  87. [2016-02-24 15:33:56] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The ropes to the balloon cut, and the submersible splashes into the water, sending out small waves. It rocks a moment before steadying.
  88. [2016-02-24 15:34:48] * Get_Lost frowns "where nopony went before..."
  89. [2016-02-24 15:36:54] * Golden_Dream then realizes that would be an awful thing, since Mwana'd have to go away. So she instead decided to wish that it was as boring a place that one could ever dream up. Like the Samare desert. Or Dodge Junction. Nobody likes Dodge Junction.
  90. [2016-02-24 15:37:50] * Shatara just hopes Jugeote doesn't die horribly.
  91. [2016-02-24 15:38:38] * Get_Lost hopes that the next time somepony goes where nopony went before, she won't have chores to do, so she will be able to tag along
  92. [2016-02-24 15:43:06] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The submersible begins to sink into the water, bubbles rippling up around it.
  93. [2016-02-24 15:43:53] * Bookwright waves a fond farewell with his (rather tatty) hoofkerchief.
  94. [2016-02-24 15:48:04] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The /Rainbow Connection/ sinks out of sight.
  95. [2016-02-24 15:49:00] * Noble_Heart shuffled her hooves nervously.
  96. [2016-02-24 15:49:29] * Golden_Dream quietly observes. She... Somewhat expected there to be this earth-shattering kaboom.
  97. [2016-02-24 15:53:26] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Minutes pass.
  98. [2016-02-24 15:53:50] * Get_Lost "probably it will take a long while, we should start planning our next move"
  99. [2016-02-24 15:54:38] * Mitzi watches the water, paws crossed over her chest as she waits
  100. [2016-02-24 15:54:39] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana nods. "They have to get down to the portal, then open it."
  101. [2016-02-24 15:56:25] <Mare-Do-Well> 3On each pirate ship, guard rotations are being assigned for watching the lake.
  102. [2016-02-24 15:57:39] * Golden_Dream coughs. "Um. So. Yeah, we're uh. Prolly gonna move over t' th' Dragon Lands here soon t' find some way t' set up th' tykes. 'Cept maybe a couple. We're prolly gonna have t' scavenge 'r buy up as much food as possible before then. Our tanks are runnin' kinda low there, on account of needin' t'-
  103. [2016-02-24 15:57:50] <Golden_Dream> "Feed hundreds a' lil' mouths."
  104. [2016-02-24 15:58:42] * Bookwright "Do you suppose the other side of the portal will also be underwater, or is all the water gonna drain out through it?"
  105. [2016-02-24 16:00:22] * Golden_Dream quietly entertains the thought of thousands of kiloliters of water just dumping onto some rando place in another world. And then a giant boat just drops down. It would be funny if she didn't know the folks on the boat.
  106. [2016-02-24 16:02:51] * Get_Lost "i'm not really sure..."
  107. [2016-02-24 16:03:50] <Shatara> "...I hope the other end isn't in the sky..."
  108. [2016-02-24 16:04:04] <Mare-Do-Well> 3A gentle ripple starts in the center of the blue hole, spreading outward, as if a strong wind was playing across the water.
  109. [2016-02-24 16:04:45] * Bookwright "Well, looks like the lake is draining into the portal. Hopefully the other side won't be too inconvenienced by being flooded with a lakeful of water."
  110. [2016-02-24 16:04:45] * Get_Lost turns towards the lake "it's just my visor glitching?"
  111. [2016-02-24 16:04:45] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Everyone feels a nearly inaudible hum, and a ever-so-slight shift in the light.
  112. [2016-02-24 16:06:04] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The sound disappears as quickly as it registers. The shift in light, as subtle as it is, remains.
  113. [2016-02-24 16:09:15] * Get_Lost trots next to the lake's limit and activates her thaumic field vision
  114. [2016-02-24 16:10:26] * Noble_Heart tilts her head to one side. "They have opened the portal."
  115. [2016-02-24 16:11:44] * Get_Lost hums some sort of tune to herself
  116. [2016-02-24 16:12:58] * Get_Lost "what if they open a rift and giant monsters start coming out of it? we still don't have the giant robots to fight them back... that would be unlucky"
  117. [2016-02-24 16:13:30] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Minutes pass.
  118. [2016-02-24 16:13:50] * Bookwright regards Get_Lost morosely. "I think just not having giant robots is unlucky. What you're proposing is... doubly so."

  120. [2016-02-24 16:13:59] * Shatara finds himself humming a little tune of his own.
  121. [2016-02-24 16:14:31] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The light shifts again. Just slightly.
  122. [2016-02-24 16:14:32] * Noble_Heart looks up towards the sky and blinks then frowns. "SHATARA! Bring the ship around! Move away from the lake! Mwana! Call your captain and suggest the same!"
  123. [2016-02-24 16:14:35] * Get_Lost frowns "what the..." looks up
  124. [2016-02-24 16:14:47] <Mare-Do-Well> 3It begins to snow.
  125. [2016-02-24 16:15:18] * Bookwright "This weather is nuts."
  126. [2016-02-24 16:15:19] * Shatara squaks in alarm, diving for the controls. "The one time I turn out to be right..."
  127. [2016-02-24 16:15:53] * Get_Lost "let's hope it wont' snow submarines... girls, get ready for a teleport rescue..."
  128. [2016-02-24 16:16:05] * Mare-Do-Well 3blinks, staring upwards. "I know winter is coming... but is snow normal in a jungle?"
  129. [2016-02-24 16:16:49] * Get_Lost "will somepony winget go and check what is going on upstairs?"
  130. [2016-02-24 16:25:52] * Golden_Dream frowns. "Ten caps says that chaos spirit is up there makin' weird shit happen."
  131. [2016-02-24 16:26:05] * Mare-Do-Well 3flies upwards.
  132. [2016-02-24 16:27:56] * Bookwright "No bet."
  133. [2016-02-24 16:28:05] * Mare-Do-Well 3returns. "I'll never get used to seeing the weather acting all on its own. But that up there is extra Everfree-like."
  134. [2016-02-24 16:29:03] * Bookwright "Maybe the weather on the other side of the portal is spilling through? Somehow? Either that or the portal comes out so high above us the water is freezing into snow... Oh. Oh dear."
  135. [2016-02-24 16:29:03] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The snow shifts to rain again. The wind picks up. There are shouts of concern from the other ships.
  136. [2016-02-24 16:29:08] * Golden_Dream huffs. "Alright, so. Let's, uh. Let's get up there and figure out what's goin' on."
  137. [2016-02-24 16:29:10] * Noble_Heart frowns. "It must be a side-effect of the magic. Which is worrying, tos ay the least."
  138. [2016-02-24 16:30:51] * Mare-Do-Well 3puts a hoof to her chest. "I know clouds. Clouds don't think or have feelings, but..." She pauses, staring upwards, "...It's like those clouds are /confused/."
  139. [2016-02-24 16:31:22] * Mare-Do-Well 3adds, "Like they don't quite know what they're supposed to be doing."
  140. [2016-02-24 16:32:01] * Mitzi looks confused by the weather herself
  141. [2016-02-24 16:33:11] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Hunter shudders. Several of the baby dragons begin to cry.
  142. [2016-02-24 16:33:36] * Mitzi gently takes Hunter off her head and holds him in the pad of her paw. "Yu eeze alright leetle un?"
  143. [2016-02-24 16:34:11] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Hunter sniffles and stares at Mitzi with big, dragon eyes.
  144. [2016-02-24 16:34:29] * Mitzi frowns a bit. "Yu know dere eeze sumteen wrong, yes?"
  145. [2016-02-24 16:35:06] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The wind dies. The rain stops.
  146. [2016-02-24 16:35:28] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The clouds break apart, bright sunlight showering the lake.
  147. [2016-02-24 16:35:57] * Golden_Dream looks around. "Well. Looks like they figure if they don't know what to do, get th' hell outta th' way."
  148. [2016-02-24 16:46:48] * Golden_Dream quickly looks back down. "Well. There's nothin' we can do for that one, right? There's no spirits or nothin' up there causin' a ruckus?"
  149. [2016-02-24 16:49:56] * Noble_Heart looks up towards the sky then down to the lake. "No. This is not spirit magic. This is something else." She scowls and furrows her brow. "Something stranger."
  150. [2016-02-24 16:57:48] * Mare-Do-Well looks to Noble_Heart. "What?"
  151. [2016-02-24 16:59:59] * Noble_Heart contemplates and shakes her head. "The only sort of magic We have ever seen which could have this sort of side-effects is a megaspell. An ancient relic of such power would not be beyond believing, the Elements of Harmony have certainly created immense and famous side-effects during their use, and the SPP was capable of projecting and altering weather for huge distances
  152. [2016-02-24 16:59:59] * Noble_Heart around every tower. To see such a thing as a mere side-effect rather than the principle purpose though? The prospect is dangerous and terrifying."
