Meguca 3.2: Mistakes

[15:16] <Genshuku> THE YEAR IS 20XX
[15:17] <Genshuku> The Fox players mull over the challenge that someone who still mains Marth presented them.
[15:17] <Genshuku> Items set on high. Icicle Mountain.
[15:18] <Genshuku> ...For those of you who don't remember what happened last time, here's a recap: fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck
[15:20] <Genshuku> Two magicial girls (well, it's likely that they used to be magical, now they're not) lay dead (see, they're not magicial because they're dead).
[15:20] <Genshuku> One magical girl seems to be having one hell of a panic attack, as if magic had finally begun to eat at their mind!
[15:21] <Genshuku> And two other magicial girls, one previously being in the party, had outright taken off!
[15:21] <Genshuku> The source of all this trauma is a very large, rainbow shaded blob, with a core that changes color periodically, as well as its shape pretty much whenever.

[15:23] <Genshuku> The blob makes no movement towards the party after giving out that little speech (ask in PM if you've forgotten it, hardly the place), simply regarding them with some interest...as well as the one having a panic attack, every so often.
[15:24] <Genshuku> Did I mention it radiates the feeling of magic?
[15:24] <Genshuku> It does. The golem certainly didn't do that.
[15:27] * Kasuga_Makoto isn't quite sure exactly what she's looking at. What followed was a heavily feeling of dread. Makoto WAS clear on one fact - that this was a being whose power vastly towered over its victims. "...Matsubara, we have to do something. Or else, that survivor's done for..." She looked to her fellow magical girl, cracking open her tome once more. If this thing wanted to fight, she would, But first...
[15:28] <Genshuku> *"She's done for anyway. Don't worry about someone that's already dead. Hardly the best use of your time."*
[15:29] <Genshuku> For something so terribly strong, the response was quite frank!
[15:29] <Kasuga_Makoto> "...You. What are you? Why did you kill them...?" She cast a determined gaze to the multicoloured orb-creature. Fearful below the surface, yet trying desperately to remain calm. "What right do you have to take their lives?"
[15:31] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "T...This is certainly bad. If those girls failed against this youma... then... what if our group can't fight it as well?!" Hotaru responded as she is unaware that one of them within the group had already fled.
[15:32] <Genshuku> *"We're doing this talking thing, then? By all means. I've got time to kill before this one reaches her full potential. I'd recommend you leave before she's done, though. I'll get good ideas, and you'll die."* The humanoid figure inside the gel seems to laugh, but there is no sound.
[15:34] <Genshuku> *"What right did I have to kill them? They attacked me. Simple. It's fair enough, since I was existing and all. I'm just not healthy for the city environment."* Another soundless laugh.
[15:34] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu just tilted her head slightly at her group's strangely calm and rational assessment of the situation. Well, she was weird herself but these two? They're probably crazy in the head. There were definite warning symbols going off in her head, but Miyu was a good girl, and good girls /usually/ don't leave their friends behind. Usually.
[15:36] * Kasuga_Makoto narrows her eyes and continues to query the beast... "What do you mean 'full potential'? And..." she pauses for a moment. "...You don't mean that...-" She turns to Matsubara, finally showing some of her tenseness in her body language. "...I'm not sure if that would be wise. I'm...at a loss. We'll have to either stand up against it...or leave, and risk letting it go."

[15:37] <Genshuku> *"I've learned a few tricks. Did you know? Bottling up one's emotions amplifies them to some extent. And this one? She's about to lose it. Forever."*
[15:38] <Genshuku> *"She was going to anyway, but why not make the most of it?"* There's a disturbing amount of cheer in that line.
[15:38] <Genshuku> Which, really, could be 'any at all'!
[15:40] <Kasuga_Makoto> "Harming people like this is unforgivable. We'll take her back with us, if we have to..."
[15:40] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu wasn't one to like fighting things in a fair fight. Heck she hated having a minor disadvantage. But now there were two crazy monsters in front of her, two corpses rotting on the floor on the ground below her, two fleeing magical girls behind her, and two idiots who were still wasting time thinking about it! This definitely was the textbook example of "Too dumb to live!"
[15:41] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu probably needed something heavy and blunt. Preferably with an anesthetic. A strong one. Better save the ones that are actually alive than reach towards the maws of one that's already visibly insane, will probably put up a fight, and is tightly guarded by something that killed off half her team!
[15:41] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "T...That thing is far too demented to be let go, we must stop this youma. This is the risk I am willing to take, Makoto."
[15:42] <Genshuku> "Funny!"*
[15:42] <Genshuku> *"That was her last line."* The humanoid figure points to one of the dead ones.
[15:43] <Genshuku> *"I think she was expecting a more dramatic one for her last, but I wanted that to be her last, so I went for the throat."* Yeeeeeep, this is a dangerous foe.
[15:43] <Miyu_Yoshihane> That confirmed Miyu's thoughts. Something really blunt would be nice right now, as magic swirled around the tips of her fingers. Guess she'll stick with inducing concussion on her allies. No foul no harm.
[15:46] <Kasuga_Makoto> "...I never said anything about confronting you." Makoto moves her gaze to watch the wreck of the other magical girl, nearby. This enemy was far too powerful to fight, at their level... "If the girl's worthless to you, why keep her?" Her voice changed, slightly. Perhaps, an odd reverberation...
[15:47] <Genshuku> *"The one in my cage needs to reach her fullest potential before I let her run around. She'll probably immediately go after the firey one. I imagine she'll be effective at that!"*
[15:48] <Genshuku> *"I imagine now that I've said this, you'll have a good place to bide your time. And when the inevitable confrontation happens, it'll be really messy. And that's all I can really ask for!"*
[15:49] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "I..." she feels more frightened by those words earlier coming from the youma itself. She feels she knows what exactly the youma wants out of her, so she tries her best to remain calm and focus. "Makoto, we should try freeing that girl before things gets real bad... not that things has gotten bad already."
[15:50] <Kasuga_Makoto> "In that case, there isn't much that can be done about it. Are you sure you won't change your mind, pawn of the All-Seeing One." She opens her tome, preparing herself for a confrontation... "Matsubara, we should focus on getting the survivor out of here. And leaving. /Fast/."
[15:50] <Genshuku> *"Heehee. Been a while since I've heard that name." The air thickens.*
[15:51] <Genshuku> That one's bold.
[15:51] <Genshuku> *"I imagine the reason that name comes up is that you know something you shouldn't. I'll be seeing you later."*
[15:51] <Genshuku> Maybe mentioning the All-Seeing One was a mistake!
[15:52] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "W-What?!" she immediately unsheaths her sword. "Makoto, it's now or never. Let's free the girl!"
[15:52] <Miyu_Yoshihane> The mouth is the root of all disaster. Less time for discussion, more time for getting the heck out of here, Miyu decided, clamping her hands on a shoulder of each of her partners.
[15:56] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "W-wait, Miyu?! What are you doing?! What about the girl?!" she responded in shock.
[15:56] <Miyu_Yoshihane> A powerful surge ripped through their current thoughts, leaving a single line in their minds, blinking, blaring and covered with very obvious emoticons. "We're leaving."
[15:57] <Genshuku> It is ONE HELL OF A THOUGHT. You're unable to concentrate on the very idea of remaining!
[15:57] <Genshuku> And really, you start to realize that's a good idea. It didn't seem all that aggressive till Makoto mentioned the All-Seeing One.
[15:58] <Genshuku> Maybe talking any further might actually be a bad idea!
[15:58] * Kasuga_Makoto loses concentration, her early plans fading into the background. Her dread returned... "W-what was I thinking?!" She rubs her temples, with a clear headache. "...If we tried, we'd just be killed along with them..."
[15:58] <Miyu_Yoshihane> "Stop thinking. Move." The words echoed in their minds again.
[15:59] <Kasuga_Makoto> "...M...Miyu's right, let's go."
[15:59] <Genshuku> *"Today's lucky winner is...whoever you are! Come play again sometime! ...Is what I would say if I didn't have my eye out for you now."*
[15:59] <Genshuku> *"So really, it's 'I'll play with you some other time'!"*
[15:59] * Kasuga_Makoto alters the flow of her magical energies, attempting to love herself through light, again. This time, trying to get as far away as possible! It seems that what she'd mentioned must've set off this...thing...
[16:00] <Kasuga_Makoto> *move
[16:00] <Kasuga_Makoto> (where the fuck did I get love. xD))
[16:00] * %Matsubara_Hotaru starts flying away from the scene as well, as quick as possible, finally realizing they really have no chance against the thing. She is left quite speechless about the whole incident.

[16:02] <Genshuku> ...But is there anywhere in particular that they're fleeing to?
[16:03] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu flew off... actually wondering why they decided to split up when there's a very real chance that that crazy one /might/ chase after them. That being said, Miyu remembered what the thing said about hunting after the flame girl first... which meant... getting to her before they did was a priority. A real one. Another ally to bolster their strength while at the same time, gaining her...
[16:03] <Miyu_Yoshihane> ...undying support for protecting her. Seemed like a good idea to her! Miyu flew off in the direction she last recalled the Flamekin flying in, spreading out her mind, searching for her unique brainwavelength.
[16:07] <Genshuku> Miyu has the right idea, focuses her mind, and--oooh, you feel her position! It's not TOO far away, perhaps her speed is hampered by wounds, or maybe just how fucked up everything is right now. Just a bit to the right, and then forward!
[16:08] <Genshuku> ...It then becomes clear that the youma left everyone with a sort of parting present. Everyone suddenly feels a bit ill.
[16:08] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu bolts towards the location as fast as she can... without pushing her limits. Getting a Speed Boost now would be stupid!
[16:13] <Genshuku> Ooooooh, no, that was a baaaad wave. Perhaps that air growing thicker might have been it putting out more magic in the air, and...claims that it isn't good for the city enviroment seem to be quite well founded!
[16:17] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Well, first it was her anger and now it's her magic bursting out of the seems. Miyu felt that if she had a different sort of buildup, she'd qualify for the Berserker Class and participate in some holy war over a powerful ancient pool of magic which can cast wishes. snarks aside, Miyu felt really... sick... and wanted to let it all out.
[16:20] * Kasuga_Makoto feels the pressure of the excess magic build up in her. It burned into her body and mind. She had to find a way out, and with Miyu having trouble during their escape...was this even the right thing to do? Did she...fail her vision? Was she too late, too early...nevertheless, she had to keep going, hoping she'd survive it.
[16:31] <Miyu_Yoshihane> The explosion started off... simple. Just a pure pinpoint of light, no bigger than the palm of her hand... and then it grew!... and grew! And before she could stop it... it engulfed the tops of the surrounding buildings... carving out spherical portions of the buildings, with herself as the epicenter! A random traffic helicopter just vanished into thin air, and Miyu felt the weight of life...
[16:31] <Miyu_Yoshihane> ...suddenly upon her shoulders as she comprehended the situation around her.
[16:33] <Genshuku> A traffic helicopter, and the top floor of a few large structures! MANY THINGS ARE ENGULFED BY THE EXPLOSION, thankfully, however, it's not as much as it could have been. However, it includes the party! Can they withstand it?
[16:33] <Genshuku> ...Probably. But will it hurt?
[16:41] <Genshuku> Hotaru, perhaps in a fit of an out-of control fight or flight response, puts up a very powerful magical barrier, which can be seen even after the explosion fades out. Makoto is engulfed in it, and it hurts about as much as a high concentrated magic assault would, a pain greater than any she has felt before! It hurts!
[16:41] <Genshuku> Of course, thanks to being magical, she at least remains conscious, and then some!
[16:41] <Genshuku> Still though, the same can't be said of the buildings below.
[16:42] <Genshuku> ...those weren't abandoned.
[16:42] <Genshuku> But that still isn't the end of the fun!
[17:10] <Kasuga_Makoto> Makoto holds fast against the searing pain. It's as bad as seeing the letters...or perhaps, even worse. On second though, FAR worse. She stays relatively conscious, aside from the pain making her senses dulled. When she finally understood the situation...if she ever would, she noticed the destruction, below. The magic within her seemed to react to this great discharge, not giving her much time for thought of the
[17:10] <Kasuga_Makoto>  matter. A crackling aura of light and heat erupted from somewhere within her, tendrils of light energy licking out from her form and whipping across to any surface they could reach, even amongst the destroyed ruins of the buildings. Wherever the tendrils reached or struck, the area was stricken with a rash of flaming letters, which spread out from its epicentre, etching the ground zero area with dozens - no,
[17:10] <Kasuga_Makoto>  thousands - of words. Still molten, or on fire...
[17:12] <Kasuga_Makoto> It looked as if a madman had etched and torched it full of scribblings in some bizarre tongue. She couldn't read them, but after recovering, the collateral was a much larger concern...
[17:15] <Genshuku> Even as the city below attempts to recover from the pure blast of force Miyu laid upon the tops of buildings, Makoto's own goes wild. Words...words? Runes? It's hard to tell, considering the state of panic everyone is in, but some sort of language is being blasted in. Perhaps thankfully, the words did not read 'Resisters shall land in hell', because then we'd all be finished...but honestly, it's feeling pretty close to that right now. What does it say? ...What does it matter? ...Whatever the case, we might only be thankful that the destructive tendrils did not strike anyone, simply causing a large amount of property damage and probably causing some people to trip, causing even MORE chaos below, as if they thought it to be the end of the world. Would they forget this? You're not sure.
[17:18] <Genshuku> Whatever the case, you know that once you all recuperate from this mess, you probably want to continue towards that signal. Thankfully, Miyu still HAS the signal. It's a good signal.
[17:22] <Genshuku> Of course, the mess hasn't stopped yet
[17:22] <Genshuku> .
[17:36] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> Hotaru sighs a relief after protecting herself from that explosion. She really hopes that there is as few casualities as possible from that blast. But just as she thought things couldn't get worse... or rather more surreal, her magic starts to malfunction quite as well. Somehow a few ribbons start growing in random spots on her clothing! She isn't quite sure as to how or why this is happening,
[17:36] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> but as soon as she noticed them, she let out a loud gasp and starts panicking!
[17:36] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> But it just doesn't stop there! Suddenly she feels very compelled to give a small gift to someone, and she can't shake that feeling off entirely! It is an inappropirate time to being doing this now, she thought, since not only is there a huge issue with that youma, Makoto was just hurt from the explosion and there's the whole ribbon crisis going on.
[17:40] <Genshuku> While the least destructive of the raging forces, Hotaru can still feel the presence of the ribbons. ...It seems as though they're spiritually attached to her. Perhaps they're the most permanent of the bunch!
[17:41] <Genshuku> ...Well, this is one hell of a scene. Words that might have been written in youma rune, destruction everywhere...
[17:41] <Genshuku> There's some parallels t be made, here!
[17:41] <Genshuku> To be made, even!
[17:41] <Genshuku> However, you haven't the luxury to think about it. The target still moves.
[17:47] <Genshuku> ...Well, you CAN think about it, but...while moving!

Clearly her mind is not in the best place at the moment in the midst of the chaos, as it is filled with nothing but confusion, terror and affection.

[19:01] * %Matsubara_Hotaru tries to remain as much calm as she can. Her mind is still overloaded with mixed emotions, but she does her best to keep moving along with Makoto. "R-right! I'm sorry! Where exactly do we go?" asked as she is still trying to surpress her thoughts.
[19:01] <Kasuga_Makoto> Of course, Makoto couldn't turn away from the burning etched markings all over the destroyed landscape. Something like that stuck with anyone. But without much to go off of, aside from checking her visions another time, she was at a loss... "...But Matsubara...I'm not sure what happened, just now. Did...Yoshihane just-...?" She clenched her fist for a moment, trying to locate their new objective... "...There's
