- Type: Poison Category: Status PP:32
- Description: Coil raises the user's Attack, Defense, and accuracy stats by one stage each
- Coil is a pretty underused set up move in Smogon Doubles, and for good reason. While the boost to attack, defence, and accuracy in one move is appealing, the users of the move are considered unviable in the current metagame for various reasons including terrible base stats, being outclassed by another Pokemon, vulnerable to common threats, and often all of these factors together.
- That being said, if you do want to use the move Coil, here are the sets I recommend running it with. I've also included quick bullets about the advantages of each mon and/or why I made certain decisions in the set.
- All of these sets have HP stats to hit as high of an HP stat as possible with a leftovers number (HP stat is divisble by 12, allows for maximum leftovers recovery per turn) and maximum special defence (except Serperior) because Coil doesn't boost that stat so you need to invest in it to compensate.
