  22. [19:03] <Deathfish64> At the very least, everyone is in the room
  23. [19:05] <Eltrotraw> so what happened here last time?
  24. [19:06] <Moonside> We fought undead.
  25. [19:07] <Skeleton> Best chapter ever
  26. [19:07] <Skeleton> Now we're in another dimension or something? I'm kinda not clear on the reason we can't go back the way we came
  27. [19:08] <Moonside> The building we just left came down.
  28. [19:08] <Deathfish64> I had to go right after we killed the horseman
  29. [19:08] <Moonside> http://pastebin.com/mgV4bzLp
  30. [19:08] <Skeleton> He was a decoy boss turns out
  31. [19:42] <Deathfish64> I had been hoping to start around this time...
  32. [19:43] <Moonside> Hey flib.
  33. [19:48] <Moonside> flibbyjibbits
  34. [19:50] <Moonside> Well, while we wait for flib I think I'll look at Gunslinger stuff.
  35. [19:50] <Skeleton> OH DAMN
  36. [19:50] <Skeleton> I forgot to level up
  37. [19:51] <Moonside> We didn't level up yet, though.
  38. [19:51] <Skeleton> Oh
  39. [19:51] <Skeleton> Okay cool
  40. [19:51] <Moonside> Though I think it'll happen in this session.
  41. [19:51] <Arkay> are you still level 4?
  42. [19:51] <Skeleton> Yeah
  43. [19:51] <Moonside> Oh then yeah, you should do that.
  44. [19:51] <Arkay> then we did level up
  45. [19:51] <Skeleton> what
  46. [19:51] <Moonside> We're going into 6 now.
  47. [19:51] <Skeleton> When did I miss it
  48. [19:51] <Arkay> you're about two weeks late, I think
  49. [19:51] <Skeleton> How can that be
  50. [19:52] <Moonside> I think it was when we fought the dwarves in the dwarf place.
  51. [19:52] <Skeleton> I did that one
  52. [19:52] <Skeleton> ...didn't I? I don't know
  53. [19:52] <Moonside> Wow, then did you miss an earlier one?
  54. [19:52] <Skeleton> Maybe
  55. [19:52] <Moonside> 1 to 2 was the summoner + bony eidolon.
  56. [19:52] <Moonside> 2 to 3 was the... er...
  57. [19:53] <Moonside> Wow, holy shit I can't remember. Anyway, 3 to 4 was the Obsidian Behemoth I think.
  58. [19:54] <Moonside> Oh, 2 to 3 was the religious guy that had a giant laser.
  59. [19:54] <Skeleton> Oh... actually, I think my sheet didn't save at some point...
  60. [19:55] <Skeleton> ...maybe... I dunno, it's weird, 'cause last time I added my new spells and then added my new feat, spells are gone, feat is there
  61. [19:55] <Skeleton> And feats are odd levels aren't they
  62. [19:55] <Moonside> Yeah.
  63. [19:55] <Moonside> That's weird.
  64. [19:56] <Skeleton> Then I probably did level up to 5 and forgot the number or the number change got undone or SOMETHING
  65. [19:58] <Moonside> Checking your page, your attack bonus and will save were lower than they should be, and you have far less skill ranks than you should have.
  66. [19:59] <Skeleton> For being level 5 or 4
  67. [19:59] <Moonside> At level 5, with 18 INT, you should have at least 30 of them. The sheet says you have 9.
  68. [19:59] <Skeleton> Uh.
  69. [20:01] <Skeleton> all right let's sprinkle some numbers around here
  70. [20:01] <Moonside> Your BAB at level 5 is +2. Your will save is +4.
  71. [20:02] <Skeleton> Total will or base will
  72. [20:03] <Moonside> Base.
  73. [20:07] <~flibbyjibbits> i think i had said to some people but not everyone that i didnt get anything really planned out for this week but i guess at least some things can still happen
  74. [20:07] <Moonside> Aw.
  75. [20:08] <~flibbyjibbits> since my internship is almost over the amount of things i am expected to do is increasing very heavily since monday
  76. [20:08] <Moonside> I see.
  77. [20:09] <~flibbyjibbits> the way my planning works is that I always atleast have a general idea of soft things like people or places and then the combat encounters is usually the last thing, so it didn't get done this time
  78. [20:10] <~flibbyjibbits> I guess this could still be like a mostly "soft session" without much action stuff if people were still willing to stick around for that
  79. [20:10] <Moonside> I'd be in for it.
  80. [20:11] <Deathfish64> Sure
  81. [20:12] <CommodoreJim> Mmk
  82. [20:12] <Arkay> kay
  83. [20:14] <~flibbyjibbits> so what we left off right after the tunnel collapsed because of invisiblejerk
  84. [20:14] <Moonside> Yeah.
  85. [20:16] <Moonside> Lotte is angry.
  86. [20:16] <Skeleton> She's always angry
  87. [20:16] <Moonside> She's angrier.
  88. [20:16] <~flibbyjibbits> and talking in dead speak
  89. [20:16] <Moonside> You can tell when she starts speaking in necril.
  90. [20:16] <Moonside> Or infernal, or abyssal, or any other unpleasant language.
  91. [20:17] <Moonside> Iirc there's a watchtower in the distance, and a forest or something.
  92. [20:18] <Moonside> http://pastebin.com/mgV4bzLp
  93. [20:18] <~flibbyjibbits> in the far distance, maybe 3 miles, there is a forest seen, across a basically homogenous field of grass, about half that distance is a small wooden tower
  94. [20:19] <Moonside> I don't think we should get too close to the tower, since it might have soldiers and we're illegal immigrants now, so you know.
  95. [20:19] <~flibbyjibbits> im gonna toss some chicken into the microwave
  96. [20:19] <Moonside> But it and the forest are the only features in this place, so we might as well head there.
  97. [20:19] <Deathfish64> Maybe we should get a bit closer before we decide
  98. [20:19] <Deathfish64> idk
  99. [20:21] <Moonside> !roll 1 20 +13 perception to see if there's anything in the watchtower
  100. [20:21] -ChanServ- GAMESERV is not enabled on #adventure.
  101. [20:21] <bitdroid`> [Moonside - 1d20(+13)] <20> <7> <Total: 20>
  102. [20:21] <Moonside> How many feet is a mile?
  103. [20:21] <~flibbyjibbits> 5280 i think
  104. [20:22] <Moonside> Well, no way I'm beating that DC then.
  105. [20:22] <~flibbyjibbits> its about 4 stories tall and made of wood
  106. [20:22] <Moonside> DC 792, not even counting the vertical height.
  107. [20:23] <Moonside> Alright, let's get closer.
  108. [20:24] <Eltrotraw> is there anything of note on the way to the tower?
  109. [20:24] <~flibbyjibbits> in weather terms its just kinda average in every way, maybe a bit on the sunny side, but you can see far in the distance, voer the forest, huge stormclouds, like the sort that could pass as a hurricane
  110. [20:24] <Moonside> That's not very nice.
  111. [20:25] <~flibbyjibbits> between here and the tower its pretty much just grass, maybe a large rock or a tree every here and there. This could be thought of as a sort of buffer area between the true borders, if your characters cared much about politics
  112. [20:28] <CommodoreJim> what's a politics
  113. [20:28] <CommodoreJim> can I eat it
  114. [20:28] <Moonside> Is it delicious?
  115. [20:28] <Skeleton> Drom probably cares about politics
  116. [20:28] <~flibbyjibbits> as you get closer you can see that the tower is leaning a bit, and in bad shape, with parts propped up by planks dug into the ground at the side
  117. [20:28] <Skeleton> He's a member of a royal guard (or at least he was until the king baby got shot)
  118. [20:28] <Skeleton> Oh no, we're in italy
  119. [20:28] <Eltrotraw> yo king baby
  120. [20:29] <Deathfish64> That tower would be made of stone, not wood
  121. [20:31] <Moonside> Does it look like there's anyone inside it?
  122. [20:33] <~flibbyjibbits> theres a chair outfront with a guy asleep in it
  123. [20:33] <Deathfish64> Does he look friendly?
  124. [20:34] <Skeleton> He looks vulnerable!
  125. [20:34] <~flibbyjibbits> looks like a typical elf ranger type
  126. [20:34] <Moonside> That's not really what I was expecting.
  127. [20:36] <Moonside> Let's just keep going towards the forest.
  128. [20:37] <Deathfish64> Do we really want to go into the forest when there is a storm coming?
  129. [20:37] <Deathfish64> I expect that we would regret not having proper shelter
  130. [20:37] <Moonside> Well, where else could we go?
  131. [20:38] <CommodoreJim> HELL.
  132. [20:38] <Deathfish64> I'd take chances with the tower, honestly
  133. [20:38] <Arkay> Same here
  134. [20:38] <Moonside> Ok then.
  135. [20:38] <Deathfish64> Even if it's a shitty tower, it's better than being completely at the mercy of the elements
  136. [20:39] <CommodoreJim> Maybe we should wake ELF RANGER and see if the tower is safe and if we can be there
  137. [20:39] <Moonside> Ok.
  138. [20:44] <~flibbyjibbits> so youre walking up to the tower and waking him up somehow?
  139. [20:44] <Moonside> Yeah.
  140. [20:44] <CommodoreJim> Freddie cast a "Wake the fuck up" spell
  141. [20:44] <CommodoreJim> Do it
  142. [20:44] <CommodoreJim> Do it now
  143. [20:45] <Deathfish64> use Ghost Noises to blast death metal
  144. [20:46] <CommodoreJim> Otherwise, Raynar should go shake him awake
  145. [20:46] <CommodoreJim> Because he's the new guy
  146. [20:46] <Deathfish64> Freddie should do it because he's the elf
  147. [20:46] <CommodoreJim> Also a compelling argument
  148. [20:47] <Moonside> Drom should do it because he has the highest STR.
  149. [20:47] <CommodoreJim> We're trying to wake him, not break him
  150. [20:48] <Eltrotraw> Should the rest of us take cover
  151. [20:49] <CommodoreJim> OH I KNOW'
  152. [20:49] <CommodoreJim> Tombs, fire your gun into the air
  153. [20:49] <Moonside> You somehow need a grit point to do that.
  154. [20:49] <Eltrotraw> I think that's a combat action
  155. [20:49] <Eltrotraw> Flib?
  156. [20:49] <Eltrotraw> verdict?
  157. [20:50] <~flibbyjibbits> firing a gun into the air without getting the combat benefit doesnt cost grit why would it
  158. [20:50] <Skeleton> That's not a very nice way to wake someone up
  159. [20:51] <Deathfish64> I think waking him up some other way would be better
  160. [20:51] <Deathfish64> shooting a gun sounds too much like a threata
  161. [20:51] <Deathfish64> threat*
  162. [20:51] <Moonside> Someone just shake him.
  163. [20:51] <Skeleton> Also you guys are so racist, what if Freddie and the watchman were black humans? Freddie should wake him up, they're both BLACK
  164. [20:51] <Skeleton> They RESONATE with each other
  165. [20:51] <CommodoreJim> Uh, yeah
  166. [20:51] <CommodoreJim> Hello.
  167. [20:52] <Deathfish64> We're not racist, we're speciesist
  168. [20:52] <Deathfish64> or something
  169. [20:52] <CommodoreJim> Dude Freddie just shake the fucking douchebag
  170. [20:52] <Eltrotraw> *african american
  171. [20:52] <Skeleton> Freddie pokes at his shoulder gently, "Hey, hey guy, hey, dude hey"
  172. [20:52] <CommodoreJim> Or make water at him
  173. [20:52] <Deathfish64> speak in elven
  174. [20:52] <Deathfish64> It'll make him feel better
  175. [20:53] <Arkay> can I just cast create water and douse the guy
  176. [20:54] <Eltrotraw> if you guys keep bickering I'll fire
  177. [20:54] <~flibbyjibbits> the guy sleepily mumbless n elvish, "Welcome to border patrol step inside to be border patrol
  178. [20:54] <Skeleton> "Uh-huh, uh-huh..."
  179. [20:54] <CommodoreJim> "To...be border patrol...?"
  180. [20:54] <Moonside> [Elven] "WAKE THE FUCK UP!"
  181. [20:56] <~flibbyjibbits> gee what a herk
  182. [20:57] <CommodoreJim> What a Hercules
  183. [20:58] <~flibbyjibbits> The one in the chair doesn't change from his mostly asleepness, but the door to the tower opens, and two more step outside, one holding a spear and the other a bow
  184. [20:58] <~flibbyjibbits> they ask what you are trying to do here
  185. [20:58] <Moonside> [Elven] "We want to know where exactly we are, but this one here's being useless."
  186. [20:58] <CommodoreJim> Gee, heavy sleeper
  187. [20:59] <Skeleton> "Am not"
  188. [21:00] <~flibbyjibbits> whats she so angry about gee
  189. [21:00] <Deathfish64> Life
  190. [21:00] <Deathfish64> The universe
  191. [21:00] <Deathfish64> Everything
  192. [21:01] <~flibbyjibbits> one asks you to calm down the other says to step inside
  193. [21:02] <Moonside> I sigh, get down from Melange, and limp inside.
  194. [21:02] <Eltrotraw> So what do we find inside the leaning tower of piza?
  195. [21:02] <Eltrotraw> Can we find a map or something inside?
  196. [21:03] <Skeleton> I mumble to Tombs "That time of the month?"
  197. [21:03] <~flibbyjibbits> The staircase is broken down, they got a couple of beds on the side, a couple of tables, a fireplace, and some barrels
  198. [21:04] <Eltrotraw> "Eh, don't question it," Tombs mumbles back, seeing if we can spot a map of some sort.
  199. [21:04] <Eltrotraw> Deliberately avoiding the "where are we" question to avoid suspicion
  200. [21:04] <Eltrotraw> or rather further suspicion
  201. [21:05] <CommodoreJim> I wander in after everyone.
  202. [21:06] <~flibbyjibbits> The one who had the bow sits down and rests his elbows on the table, and says "This is the location of the border check"
  203. [21:07] <Moonside> "Ok."
  204. [21:10] <CommodoreJim> Any questions for border patrol
  205. [21:10] <Moonside> How do we get back to Rakor from here?
  206. [21:11] <Moonside> A diplomacy check might be in place.
  207. [21:13] <CommodoreJim> Oh I have some Diplomacy
  208. [21:14] <~flibbyjibbits> diplomacyy is a silly skill
  209. [21:14] <Eltrotraw> why's that?
  210. [21:15] <~flibbyjibbits> it seems like most of the usage is either for trying to break something or in place of actual discussion
  211. [21:16] <Moonside> Instead of having it replace discussion, I see it as improving someone's reaction to whatever you're going to say. But you still have to say something.
  212. [21:16] * CommodoreJim ([email protected]) Quit (Connection reset by peer)
  213. [21:16] * CommodoreJim ([email protected]) has joined #adventure
  214. [21:19] <~flibbyjibbits> well just waiting on any actual question or anything
  215. [21:19] <CommodoreJim> Dunno what to ask, really, besides "Can we crash here, there's a terrible storm, it seems"
  216. [21:20] <~flibbyjibbits> "Oh, well, you could if you wanted to, but that isn't going to go anywhere."
  217. [21:21] <Moonside> "Why? Magic?"
  218. [21:21] <~flibbyjibbits> "Well its been there about six years without movin so its not likely to now"
  219. [21:21] <CommodoreJim> "Huh...any idea why?"
  220. [21:22] <Skeleton> "That's crazy. You're crazy people."
  221. [21:22] <Deathfish64> "The universe is a strange plce."
  222. [21:22] <Deathfish64> place*
  223. [21:22] <Skeleton> "Screw strange, it's a crazy place"
  224. [21:22] <~flibbyjibbits> "Ah, yeah, the queen uses it to keep most resistance down. Not much of the fighting goes on that close to the middle."
  225. [21:25] <Moonside> "How bad is it there?"
  226. [21:26] <~flibbyjibbits> "Well you wouldn't want to stick around it too long or you'll end up all cursey like our friend out front"
  227. [21:27] <Skeleton> "Cursey?"
  228. [21:27] <Skeleton> Metal gear?
  229. [21:29] <~flibbyjibbits> "Yeah he got lost in there near a full moon and can't wake up anymore"
  230. [21:29] <~flibbyjibbits> this all being in elvish
  231. [21:29] <Eltrotraw> "Why's the queen not cursed, then?"
  232. [21:29] <Skeleton> Well he picked a terrible job with a handicap like that! Equal opportunities be damned
  233. [21:30] <CommodoreJim> Drom frowns at not being to understand jack shit
  234. [21:30] <~flibbyjibbits> does tombs speak the language
  235. [21:30] <~flibbyjibbits> theres no languages on his sheet
  236. [21:30] <~flibbyjibbits> i guess we can assume he can
  237. [21:31] <Eltrotraw> oh does he?
  238. [21:31] <Eltrotraw> they're all speaking elvish?
  239. [21:31] <Eltrotraw> whsops
  240. [21:31] <Deathfish64> I knew elvish would come in handy eventually
  241. [21:31] <Skeleton> whoppers
  242. [21:32] <Skeleton> now I want some whoppers
  243. [21:32] <Skeleton> (the candy, not the hamburger)
  244. [21:33] <Arkay> the worst thing about whoppers is when you get a bad one
  245. [21:33] <Arkay> so I'm scared to eat them
  246. [21:33] <~flibbyjibbits> He twists his chinbeard a bit, "Now you're not probably from here since you don't all know this and I heard that the tunnel collapsed, so it wouldn't be that easy to get out I dont think. I know someone who might be able to help you, but I don't know where to find him."
  247. [21:34] <Moonside> "Well, what's his name?"
  248. [21:34] <~flibbyjibbits> "I don't know the name."
  249. [21:35] <Moonside> "Well, what DO you know about him?" I'm clearly thinking 'this is dumb'.
  250. [21:35] <~flibbyjibbits> "I know that he lives near the peak of the mountain, and hes a blacksmith"
  251. [21:35] <Skeleton> "But you don't know where to find him? So he's on vacation or what?"
  252. [21:35] <Moonside> "Didn't you just say that you don't know where to find him?"
  253. [21:36] <~flibbyjibbits> "The places keep moving around, the storm changes the directions between things"
  254. [21:36] <Moonside> "..."
  255. [21:36] <Skeleton> "How hard can it be to find a mountain? It's a mountain."
  256. [21:39] <Moonside> "Ok, then I guess we're going there. Though I'd still like to rest here since we're all injured."
  257. [21:39] <~flibbyjibbits> "I can tell you that the mountain range is southwest of here, but I'm not sure if you can find the path. There used to be a village right along the way, but its gone now."
  258. [21:39] <Skeleton> "Still crazy."
  259. [21:41] <~flibbyjibbits> "You can stay here until you feel like you can get going, sure. I did mislead you slightly, I suppose. Its not the smith who can help you, specifically."
  260. [21:41] <Moonside> "What?"
  261. [21:41] <Eltrotraw> "Real confusin', huh?"
  262. [21:42] <Skeleton> "It's his wife's uncle's stempother-in-law's cousin thrice removed's?"
  263. [21:42] <~flibbyjibbits> "But he gets a lot of strange clients, weird people from far away, or sometimes people who died a long time ago, and I figure if you stay around him for a while you'll meet someone who can get you home."
  264. [21:42] <Skeleton> -'s
  265. [21:42] <Moonside> "..."
  266. [21:43] <Moonside> I tell everyone that doesn't speak elven what we just talked about.
  267. [21:43] <Skeleton> "Dead people?"
  268. [21:43] <Skeleton> Shagohod?
  269. [21:43] <~flibbyjibbits> "They're not dead, at least form what I've heard, they just don't know what time it is, and then they go back to where they came from"
  270. [21:44] <Moonside> "That doesn't make any sense."
  271. [21:44] <Deathfish64> "Does rime work like that?"
  272. [21:44] <Skeleton> "This would make a great fantasy story"
  273. [21:44] <Deathfish64> time*
  274. [21:44] <Deathfish64> not rime
  275. [21:44] <Deathfish64> dum
  276. [21:45] <~flibbyjibbits> "He lives in the temple of the full moon. They say that, in every timeline, or every different world that could have happened, theres still only one of it."
  277. [21:46] <Moonside> Lotte's face changes from annoyed or something to interested. "Hmmmm..."
  278. [21:46] <Eltrotraw> ("Did they mention books")
  279. [21:48] <Moonside> [Common] "Ok, so he said that there's this mountain that keeps changing place, right? There's this temple in it, and only one of it exists across all the different alternate universes that there are. We might come across someone that'll be able to help us there."
  280. [21:48] <Skeleton> "Why would a blacksmith live in a temple?"
  281. [21:48] <Eltrotraw> "Hidin' out, maybe."
  282. [21:49] <Skeleton> "Wait, does that mean it's like a crossroad of all realities and whoever enters it from wherever ends up at the same place, or it only exists here and there is no parallel?"
  283. [21:49] <CommodoreJim> "...a moving mountain? Alternate universes...?" Drom sighs. "What've we gotten into?"
  284. [21:49] <~flibbyjibbits> "The first way you said."
  285. [21:49] <Deathfish64> "I wonder if there's any possibility of meeting yourself there."
  286. [21:49] <Skeleton> "That's even crazier."
  287. [21:50] <Deathfish64> "Or perhaps that's avoided because it would be too embarrassing."
  288. [21:50] <Moonside> "Oh come on, Drom. We finally came across something that's actually interesting!"
  289. [21:50] <Skeleton> "Hey! We should team up with an alternate version of ourselves from another reality! No one could stop us"
  290. [21:50] <Deathfish64> "It might be a good place to build a restaurant"
  291. [21:50] <CommodoreJim> "What if other us are evil, Freddie?"
  292. [21:50] <Arkay> "I don't think I could deal with multiple Freddies."
  293. [21:51] <Skeleton> "How could that be"
  294. [21:51] <CommodoreJim> "Different circumstances and the like."
  295. [21:51] <Skeleton> "Hmm... maybe there's a Nice Lotte out there then..."
  296. [21:51] <Skeleton> "I mean uh"
  297. [21:51] <Moonside> "What was that?"
  298. [21:51] <CommodoreJim> Brace for impact
  299. [21:52] <Skeleton> "I wonder if there's... I can't think of a soundalike"
  300. [21:52] <Deathfish64> "I can think of a slogan something like 'If you've done six impossible things this morning already, why not round it off with breakfast at Pikkupstix's?'"
  301. [21:53] <~flibbyjibbits> "That wasn't far off of why he decided to set up shop there himself, I don't think. The story says he was bored with his work and wanted stranger clients."
  302. [21:53] <Moonside> "Ok, we're going there. Plus, meeting a good blacksmith might be nice too."
  303. [21:53] <Deathfish64> "And if you don't have enough money, you can just have yourself from an alternate reality where you're rich pick up the bill!"
  304. [21:54] <Skeleton> "Wouldn't he have some competition from himself?"
  305. [21:55] <~flibbyjibbits> "I myself don't know enough about the rules of the temple to dispute that, but from what I've heard, the same person, even if from different times, can only be there once at a time, and you can travel into other timelines, but only ones you arent already alive in"
  306. [21:55] <CommodoreJim> "I don't like where this is going."
  307. [21:55] <Skeleton> "Aw."
  308. [21:56] <Arkay> "Well that saves us from dealing with multiple Freddies."
  309. [21:56] <Moonside> "Ah... I was wondering what other mes would be like.
  310. [21:56] <Skeleton> "coughnice"
  311. [21:56] <Moonside> "..."
  312. [21:56] <Moonside> Ok, now let's go and rest.
  313. [21:56] <Moonside> Since I'm still at 5 HP.
  314. [21:57] <Deathfish64> rest is best
  315. [21:59] <CommodoreJim> Onward to snore-y
  316. [21:59] <Skeleton> What if someone is waiting there for somebody like us to solve their problem
  317. [21:59] <CommodoreJim> Well we can't help 'em if we're dead
  318. [22:00] <Skeleton> :U
  319. [22:00] <CommodoreJim> And that's what we'll be if we push ourselves too hard
  320. [22:00] <~flibbyjibbits> so going to sleep?
  321. [22:00] <Moonside> Yeah.
  322. [22:00] <CommodoreJim> Yes.
  323. [22:00] <Arkay> zzz
  324. [22:00] <Skeleton> Sleep until morning? Sleep until night?
  325. [22:00] <Moonside> Do we heal all our HP or just some?
  326. [22:01] <~flibbyjibbits> sleeping naturally heals equal to your level, so before rest raynar can use up the rest of his healing, which was i forget how much
  327. [22:02] <Moonside> He can still do his cure elemental thing.
  328. [22:02] <Arkay> I can channel twice and use cure light wounds three times and energy body everyone so
  329. [22:02] <Arkay> a lot of healing
  330. [22:03] <~flibbyjibbits> channel is what 3d6
  331. [22:03] <Arkay> checking uh
  332. [22:03] <Arkay> yeah

  338. [22:04] <~flibbyjibbits> thats probably gonna top everyone off
  339. [22:05] <Deathfish64> Group hug centered on raynar!

  343. [22:05] <Moonside> That is exactly enough to put me at 44, yes.
  344. [22:05] <~flibbyjibbits> i picture this as him turning ghostly and running a lap around the room passing through everyone
  345. [22:05] <CommodoreJim> Haha
  346. [22:05] <CommodoreJim> !roll 5 6

  348. [22:06] <Arkay> it's 1d6 +5, I thought
  349. [22:06] <Deathfish64> I don't need anything
  350. [22:06] <~flibbyjibbits> you dont all roll individually for it
  351. [22:06] <~flibbyjibbits> and its over 5 rounds
  352. [22:06] <Arkay> oh
  353. [22:06] <Arkay> !roll 5 6

  355. [22:07] <~flibbyjibbits> oh i forgot the +5 so 19+25 is some high number so everyones fine
  356. [22:07] <Moonside> Ok.
  357. [22:08] <Eltrotraw> yeah, up to full
  358. [22:08] <~flibbyjibbits> morning time the weather is the same
  359. [22:08] <~flibbyjibbits> the guy who had talked to you before says "I can walk with you atleast to the edge of the forest, but I shouldn't go too much farther."
  360. [22:09] <Moonside> "That'd be nice."
  361. [22:10] <~flibbyjibbits> "I can try to think of anything else that would help. Oh, most of the time you can avoid getting hurt too much by the magic with these." he holds out a bag
  362. [22:11] <Moonside> I take the bag and look inside it.
  363. [22:11] * bitdroid` is now known as bitdroid
  364. [22:11] <~flibbyjibbits> "If you start to hear his music, toss one of these down real quick, can block out at least the worst effects. " the bag contains those thunderstone things, the ones that deafened some of you a while ao
  365. [22:12] <Moonside> What if we pass the fort save?"
  366. [22:12] <Moonside> Oh I mean, no " there.
  367. [22:12] <~flibbyjibbits> you can voluntarily fail any save
  368. [22:12] <Moonside> Oh ok.
  369. [22:13] <Eltrotraw> What's the music do? Make us cursed?
  370. [22:13] <Moonside> I take one and hand out the others to the others. "What does this music do?"
  371. [22:14] <~flibbyjibbits> "How bad it gets depends on how the moons like that night, and how close you are to an instrument. Most of the time if you knock out your hearing it can only mess with your vision, but other times it can be worse."
  372. [22:15] <Moonside> "Isn't this counter-productive if he wants to get more... you know what, whatever. Let's just get going."
  373. [22:15] <~flibbyjibbits> "Your town on your side of the wall, where the tunnel was, they'd captured his violinist and a singer, thats what happened to them."
  374. [22:15] <Moonside> "..."
  375. [22:17] <Moonside> I didn't know bards could do that.
  376. [22:17] <~flibbyjibbits> might not be a bard if its the instrument thats magic
  377. [22:17] <Moonside> Magic vocal chords?
  378. [22:18] <Deathfish64> this whole country is nuts
  379. [22:18] <~flibbyjibbits> maybe
  380. [22:18] <~flibbyjibbits> hey theres a reason they built a wall and have people trying to escape from it all the time
  381. [22:19] <Moonside> Ok, so into the forest we go.
  382. [22:19] <~flibbyjibbits> can also remind people of the other ways they have to get information from potentially clearer sources
  383. [22:20] <Moonside> Also, just out of curiosity, what would happen if someone cast Know Direction while inside the forest?
  384. [22:21] <~flibbyjibbits> caster level check
  385. [22:24] <~flibbyjibbits> as you enter the forest, the sky overheard looks pretty much perfectly clear, like it is mid day. theres a constant breeze from the direction the storm was in, and theres no much of a clear path, at least not here
  386. [22:24] <Moonside> Can we see the mountain from here?
  387. [22:25] <~flibbyjibbits> the elf says before turning back, "If you head in this direction," he lays his spear on the ground pointing vaguely southeast, "I think you might be able to find at least a village. I'm not sure if its still there, since they were thinking of speaking out against the queen and siding with the council, but usually you can see the mountain from there, though I've not been there lately."
  388. [22:26] <Moonside> I thank him for his help, and we go in that direction.
  389. [22:27] <~flibbyjibbits> anyone have ranks in survival that might help keep the line
  390. [22:27] <Moonside> My Survival mod is +1.
  391. [22:27] <Deathfish64> lolnope
  392. [22:28] <Eltrotraw> +7, but
  393. [22:28] <Arkay> +4, nope
  394. [22:28] <Deathfish64> Surviving is for losers
  395. [22:28] <Deathfish64> and coward gays

  402. [22:31] <Eltrotraw> brb...
  403. [22:31] <Eltrotraw> I don't know how long I'll be gone
  404. [22:32] <~flibbyjibbits> it is very boring though, you don't see any widlife, and theres no discernable change in the scenery, every tree looking like every other one
  405. [22:32] <Skeleton> Back, sorry to have vanished
  406. [22:32] <Moonside> "This is really disconcerting."
  407. [22:33] <Deathfish64> "I was thinking this forest would be crazy like everything else in this country, but man it's boring!"
  408. [22:33] <Deathfish64> "Not even any monsters."
  409. [22:33] <Deathfish64> "Lousy forest."
  410. [22:33] <Moonside> "The fact that it's so boring is crazy."

  415. [22:34] <~flibbyjibbits> it is not that natural
  416. [22:34] <Skeleton> "We'd better book it, looks to me like we only got three days"
  417. [22:36] <Moonside> "Yeah, let's keep going."

  423. [22:37] <Deathfish64> but if you guys wants to then fine
  424. [22:37] <Moonside> I think we should stop.
  425. [22:38] <Moonside> Like, that moon doesn't really look very good for us.
  426. [22:38] <CommodoreJim> I think we should set up camp
  427. [22:38] <Arkay> Yeah, better than getting lost
  428. [22:38] <Skeleton> That's no moon
  429. [22:39] <~flibbyjibbits> the music does not play this night
  430. [22:44] <~flibbyjibbits> gonna hit the bathroom

  436. [22:56] <~flibbyjibbits> guess so
  437. [22:58] <Deathfish64> yep
  438. [23:00] <CommodoreJim> Onward etc
  439. [23:00] <~flibbyjibbits> well i guess we can kinda probably just fastforward to getting there since i didnt have time to write up anything that would happen along the way and getting lost is just unnesesarily tediouis

  449. [23:03] <Skeleton> "Why doesn't somebody invent this pair of soundproof cups you put over your ears to block out noise"
  450. [23:03] <~flibbyjibbits> bought half a pound

  452. [23:04] <Moonside> Ok, so we're at the mountain now.
  453. [23:04] <Skeleton> "Or maybe little buds you can squeeze, jam into your ears, and then they grow back to size to fill 'em up"
  454. [23:04] <Moonside> "Oh, you have no idea how I'd like some of these, Freddie."
  455. [23:04] <Skeleton> "Really?"
  456. [23:04] <Skeleton> "I was expecting a 'hey freddie shut up, your ideas are dumb'"
  457. [23:05] <Deathfish64> "I bet the enchantments to make something like that wouldn't be too difficult. That's not my specialty, though."
  458. [23:05] <~flibbyjibbits> the area is a bit swampy, and more windy from the storm, and the last day you did start to see some other creatures, but only out of the corner of your eyes, or sometimes when you blinked
  459. [23:06] <~flibbyjibbits> sometimes if you turned reall quickly towards another party member the face would appear distorted and monstrous for a split second

  465. [23:07] <Skeleton> Why
  466. [23:07] <CommodoreJim> Nah not really
  467. [23:07] <Moonside> Because we can't make jokes about dingos anymore.
  468. [23:07] <Skeleton> What
  469. [23:07] <Skeleton> why not
  470. [23:07] <CommodoreJim> I just like pickin' on Freddie
  471. [23:08] <Skeleton> Maybe he did maybe he used BURNING HANDS to make raccoon jerky
  472. [23:08] <Skeleton> :d
  473. [23:08] <Skeleton> Raccoon bacon (a particularly fat raccoon)
  474. [23:10] <Deathfish64> "This swampy area is threatening to be interesting."
  475. [23:12] <Moonside> So what can we see of the mountain from here?
  476. [23:14] <Eltrotraw> can i perform a sanity check?
  477. [23:15] <~flibbyjibbits> theres a range of mountains forming like a crescent shape, perhaps a days travel between the bases across the inside, a large river pours out from a waterfall in the back, also about a day away, and it looks lik theres a large structure just above that on that mountain
  478. [23:15] <~flibbyjibbits> its all swamp between here and there
  479. [23:16] <Moonside> Let's get going, then.
  480. [23:18] <Skeleton> "I'll take boring over terrifying. I hear ogres and talking donkeys live in swamps"
  481. [23:19] <CommodoreJim> Pff.
  482. [23:19] <Deathfish64> "And talking donkeys frighten you?"
  483. [23:20] <Skeleton> "Probably... I mean I guess I've never met one..."
  484. [23:21] <Skeleton> "I've heard stories though... bedtime stories..."
  485. [23:22] <~flibbyjibbits> mightnt freddie or at least his parents be from around here, since this is primarily an elf nation
  486. [23:22] <Skeleton> Maybe
  487. [23:26] <Moonside> ...are we going through the swamp?

  495. [23:28] <Moonside> Well then, meanwhile, there's a really bad movie with Nick Cage on the TV. He's killing a lot of people while riding a car.
  496. [23:31] <Eltrotraw> there's a good movie with nic cage???
  497. [23:31] <Moonside> Hey, there's... uh...

  514. [00:40] <Moonside> One hour long,.
  515. [00:41] <~flibbyjibbits> my dad wanted to talk about how my life is going
  516. [00:41] <Deathfish64> I see
  517. [00:41] <Deathfish64> Those kinds of things can take a while
  518. [00:42] <Moonside> Hmm.
  519. [00:42] <~flibbyjibbits> it also got derailed for a little while because he wanted to talk about batman for a bit
  520. [00:42] <Skeleton> Hahaha
  521. [00:43] <~flibbyjibbits> he anted to talk about how anne hathaway was the greatest living actress
  522. [00:44] <~flibbyjibbits> i also drank some tapwater about 45 minutes ago and feel really sick because of it
  523. [00:44] <~flibbyjibbits> but anyways i guess this can continue a bit if people are still here and intersted
  524. [00:45] <Moonside> Yeah.
  525. [00:45] <Skeleton> Of course
  526. [00:45] <~flibbyjibbits> fully understand disinterest since im not really fully in it myself
  527. [00:46] <Moonside> We were going to go past the swamp.
  528. [00:49] <Deathfish64> I'm willing to continue
  529. [00:49] <~flibbyjibbits> im hearing guildwars2 sound effects in my head everything i do but this might be in part from drinking the tap water
  530. [00:50] <~flibbyjibbits> its really not great
  531. [00:50] <~flibbyjibbits> anyways
  532. [00:50] <Skeleton> Is tap water over there laden with drugs or something
  533. [00:50] <Skeleton> Is it dank
  534. [00:50] <Moonside> You might not want to drink this tap water in the future.
  535. [00:50] <~flibbyjibbits> no its just really really bad tasting and sickening
  536. [00:51] <~flibbyjibbits> its not like actually dangerous to drink like in some places, just very unpleasant
  537. [00:51] <Moonside> Also, yesterday I actually watched a documentary about how natural gas stuff over there is poisoning the water in certain places.
  538. [00:51] <~flibbyjibbits> actually it might be unhealthy considering all the industrial runoff in the river and how much its been raining the past few days, which washes garbage into the river
  539. [00:53] <~flibbyjibbits> I think there'd havee benn some kind of notification of that if it happened
  540. [00:53] <~flibbyjibbits> anyway
  541. [00:53] <~flibbyjibbits> s
  542. [00:54] <~flibbyjibbits> the swamp is very unnaturally free of insects, and the temperature is still the same as it was when you entered the forest, but the wind is stronger, even though the storm is beyond the mountain ring. The moon still hangs there in the sky, though thankfully it is approaching newness since it would be pretty shitty to be here during the full
  543. [00:55] <Moonside> Any way that we could cross it that didn't involve being knee deep in shitty water?
  544. [00:56] <~flibbyjibbits> theres areas where its not as deep, and spots of 'dry' land that you can get through without muchdifficulty, or you could skirt around the edges and take an extra day
  545. [00:57] <Moonside> I think the second method would be the best.
  546. [00:57] <Skeleton> Aye
  547. [00:57] <Skeleton> No one wants to lose a boot
  548. [00:58] <~flibbyjibbits> by the time you reach the long stone staircase by the waterfall, the strange visions have gotten a bit worse
  549. [00:58] <Skeleton> Or hear GW2 sound effects for their actions
  550. [00:59] <~flibbyjibbits> [I COULD OUTRUNA CENTAUR I COULD OUTRUN A CENTAUR I COULD OUTRUN A CENTAUR]
  551. [00:59] <~flibbyjibbits> every 15 seconds goddamn they better fix that
  552. [00:59] <Moonside> !roll 1 20 3 will save to disbelieve
  553. [00:59] -ChanServ- GAMESERV is not enabled on #adventure.
  554. [00:59] <bitdroid> [Moonside - 1d20(3)] <12> <12> <Total: 15>
  555. [01:00] <~flibbyjibbits> been here what 8 days now
  556. [01:00] <~flibbyjibbits> so dc 14
  557. [01:01] <Moonside> I thought it was like 4 or 5.
  558. [01:01] <Moonside> Well, beat it anyway.
  559. [01:01] <~flibbyjibbits> uh
  560. [01:01] <~flibbyjibbits> 1 day then 4 from the roll then 2 more thats 7
  561. [01:02] <~flibbyjibbits> so dc 14
  562. [01:02] <~flibbyjibbits> 10+half roundup
  563. [01:02] <~flibbyjibbits> halfed because you have the thunderstones
  564. [01:02] <Moonside> I mean, 4 or 5 days we were here.
  565. [01:03] <Moonside> "Whoa... what the hell is this stuff?"
  566. [01:03] <~flibbyjibbits> youve been there 7 days
  567. [01:03] <Moonside> Ok.
  568. [01:04] <Moonside> I was only counting the 4 from the roll.
  569. [01:04] <~flibbyjibbits> at this point its more of a vague discomfort, maybe feeling like you might see something in the distance
  570. [01:04] <~flibbyjibbits> !roll 5 20
  571. [01:04] <bitdroid> [flibbyjibbits - 5d20] <10 6 11 14 14> <Total: 55>
  572. [01:04] <~flibbyjibbits> looking at this looks like drom failed his
  573. [01:05] <Moonside> Aw hell naw.
  574. [01:05] <~flibbyjibbits> just rolling for everyone else
  575. [01:06] <Moonside> So what happens to Drom?
  576. [01:06] <CommodoreJim> Woah dang I was away
  577. [01:06] <~flibbyjibbits> he believes that the things at the edges of vision or standing behind those trees in the shadows a few hundred feet away are real
  578. [01:06] <~flibbyjibbits> due to failed willsave
  579. [01:07] <CommodoreJim> Oh.
  580. [01:08] <~flibbyjibbits> everybody else was able to make themselves believe they arent real
  581. [01:08] <Moonside> "Creepy."
  582. [01:08] <CommodoreJim> "The hell are those!?"
  583. [01:08] <Skeleton> "Illusions. This swamp is hella dank, bro"
  584. [01:08] <Moonside> "Calm down, they're just illusions."
  585. [01:10] <CommodoreJim> "...but are they?"
  586. [01:10] <Moonside> "Yeah. We've been seeing illusions all this time, I don't think that's going to change now."
  587. [01:10] <~flibbyjibbits> at this point youre near the base of a very tall stone staircase carved into the sides of the mountain that winds upwards towards the structure above the waterfall
  588. [01:11] <Moonside> "We're almost there!"
  589. [01:14] <Skeleton> ohhh we're halfway there
  590. [01:14] <Skeleton> ooo-oooh! livin' on a prayer
  591. [01:14] <Skeleton> take my hand and we'll make it I swear
  592. [01:14] <Skeleton> ooo-oooh! livin' on a prayer
  593. [01:14] <Moonside> We go up the staircase.
  594. [01:15] <~flibbyjibbits> { and then it takes 5 more dyas to make it up and you all go crazy
  595. [01:16] <Moonside> How does this guy get any customers?
  596. [01:17] <Deathfish64> Maybe in some dimensions this country isn't bonkers
  597. [01:18] <~flibbyjibbits> the staircase takes like 6 hours to climb because its a goddamn mountain, and at the top is a wide, flat sort of courtyard place, with statues of various creatures, in front of a large building carved out of the mountain, decorated with pillars and engravings of creatures. there is, centered on the floor, a very large mural depicting the universe
  598. [01:19] <Moonside> How's the stonework?
  599. [01:19] <~flibbyjibbits> the entrance is behind several rows of columns, an archway opening into a tunnel that goes some distance into the mountain, with a light at the end of it
  600. [01:19] <Deathfish64> Pikkup admires the fine engravings
  601. [01:19] <~flibbyjibbits> the stonework is of unnatural quality
  602. [01:19] <Deathfish64> and statues
  603. [01:20] <Moonside> "Impressive."
  604. [01:20] <~flibbyjibbits> it seems like it wasn't carved, but like it naturally formed that way
  605. [01:20] <Skeleton> "Exhausting!"
  606. [01:20] <Moonside> How does that make it /un/natural?
  607. [01:20] <Eltrotraw> so basically we got paranoia
  608. [01:20] <~flibbyjibbits> natural processes dont form 20 foot tall statues of monsters
  609. [01:21] <Skeleton> Medusas
  610. [01:21] <~flibbyjibbits> well not usually at least
  611. [01:21] <Moonside> "Let's go in, guys!"
  612. [01:23] <CommodoreJim> "Better be worth it."
  613. [01:24] <Arkay> "So let's see this blacksmith."
  614. [01:24] <Skeleton> "The watchman said we'd 'probably' get help if we spent 'some' time here..."
  615. [01:24] <~flibbyjibbits> about 500 feet down the tunnel, which gets smaller as it goes, until its the same size as a normal doorway and not a massive arch, and then opens up into a large, circular room. All along the edge of the room are similar doors, perhaps hundreds, most of them closed and locked, some unlocked and hanging open, some with the door removed and the passage sealed up with stone. The walls continue...
  616. [01:24] <~flibbyjibbits> ...upwards, there is no ceiling, the room just keeps going upwards until there isn't any mountain left for them to be carved out of
  617. [01:24] <Skeleton> "Sounds promising!" Freddie smiles brightly
  618. [01:24] <~flibbyjibbits> In the center of the room
  619. [01:25] <Moonside> "Whoa."
  620. [01:25] <~flibbyjibbits> is a workshop, with a large furnace, a massive table of tools, looking much like a dozen or so smaller smithies had been pushed all together
  621. [01:25] <CommodoreJim> "...it is impressive, I'll give it that."
  622. [01:25] <Skeleton> "The crossroads of the universe..."
  623. [01:25] <~flibbyjibbits> you can hear two voices arguing quietly, though the soruces are hidden from veiw, behind the massive furnace
  624. [01:25] <Skeleton> "Ours will be a story with really cool chapter titles huh"
  625. [01:26] <Moonside> "...I wonder about that."
  626. [01:26] <~flibbyjibbits> well not reall quietly, probably at regular voice, but the furnace is loud as shit
  627. [01:26] <Moonside> !roll 1 20 13 perception
  628. [01:26] -ChanServ- GAMESERV is not enabled on #adventure.
  629. [01:26] <bitdroid> [Moonside - 1d20(13)] <16> <16> <Total: 29>
  630. [01:26] <Skeleton> chapter titles like I Am A Robot and Shitty Goblins
  631. [01:26] <Deathfish64> "We'd better remember which door we came in through."
  632. [01:27] <~flibbyjibbits> one of the voices is talking in draconic, the other in terran
  633. [01:27] <~flibbyjibbits> or wahtever the earth language is
  634. [01:27] <~flibbyjibbits> i forget the ame
  635. [01:27] <Moonside> I... don't speak terran.
  636. [01:27] <Deathfish64> I don't speak either of those!
  637. [01:27] <~flibbyjibbits> gee really
  638. [01:28] <~flibbyjibbits> is that like the only language she doesnt speak
  639. [01:28] <Moonside> Well, /someone/ here speaks terran, because I remem- oh wait, it was Urist.
  640. [01:28] <~flibbyjibbits> doesnt know ignan either i see
  641. [01:28] <Moonside> They're in the list.
  642. [01:28] <~flibbyjibbits> anyways
  643. [01:29] <~flibbyjibbits> maybe someone hear can cast comprehend languages or the guy will talk in other languages if he has to
  644. [01:29] <~flibbyjibbits> anyways
  645. [01:29] <~flibbyjibbits> the part of the conversation that is in draconic, which at least some people here can understand, seems to be a bit upset, and has a very, uh, genuine accent
  646. [01:30] <Deathfish64> I can't cast that, so how about Levitate instead?
  647. [01:30] <~flibbyjibbits> surely the usage is interchangable
  648. [01:31] <~flibbyjibbits> "We both remember the last time we did business, I have enough to meet whatever price you list, why cn't you get this done?"
  649. [01:33] <~flibbyjibbits> not exact translation since i dont care enough to look up the rules of draconic grammar
  650. [01:34] <~flibbyjibbits> this is my excuse for awkward wording
  651. [01:35] <Moonside> It is a good excuse.
  652. [01:36] <~flibbyjibbits> i havw the book right here, there isnt even a word for business but that doesnt matter
  653. [01:36] <Skeleton> bwees-ness
  654. [01:37] <CommodoreJim> the closest aproximation is "give money or die"
  655. [01:38] <~flibbyjibbits> theres a dozen words for money, and killing, but none for any "diplomatic" verbs
  656. [01:38] <~flibbyjibbits> anyways
  657. [01:39] <~flibbyjibbits> anyone gonna do anything
  658. [01:39] <Moonside> "Hello?"
  659. [01:39] <~flibbyjibbits> the voices are coming from behind the giant metal dome that is the furnace, its maybe 50 feet tall
  660. [01:39] <Skeleton> It's polite to wait patiently for a conversation to end before you b-
  661. [01:39] <Skeleton> Okay
  662. [01:40] <Moonside> I just realized that no one is probably going to hear that.
  663. [01:40] <~flibbyjibbits> the voices stop
  664. [01:40] <CommodoreJim> :O
  665. [01:40] <Moonside> Or not.
  666. [01:41] <~flibbyjibbits> The one in terran says something after a little while to the other
  667. [01:43] <~flibbyjibbits> he starts walking around to the side of the furnace, the footsteps echoing loudly in the chamber
  668. [01:43] <Skeleton> it's a big daddy holy shit
  669. [01:43] <CommodoreJim> *whale noise*
  670. [01:44] <Skeleton> get 4ready to pee your pants
  671. [01:44] <~flibbyjibbits> He appears to be a dwarf, but with skin and flesh looking more like actual stone
  672. [01:44] <Skeleton> oh, shrimpy dwarf
  673. [01:44] <Moonside> There's a Paladin archetype that does that.
  674. [01:45] <Eltrotraw> is he a mini golem
  675. [01:45] <Eltrotraw> a stone bro?
  676. [01:45] <Skeleton> I always misread "Paladin" as "Aladdin"
  677. [01:45] <CommodoreJim> the stoner brothers!
  678. [01:45] <Moonside> http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/core-races/dwarf/stonelord-paladin-dwarf It's a cool archetype.
  679. [01:45] <Moonside> "...hello."
  680. [01:45] <~flibbyjibbits> also anotehr quirk of dragon language I really find amusing [I was just reading through that part of the nomocon a bit] is that they don't have any word for "mine" or "my". possession is assumed for any object unless specified or obvious otherwise
  681. [01:46] <~flibbyjibbits> He says something in Terran, looking back to the other side, then takes a few steps forward, holding his hands up
  682. [01:47] <Skeleton> 'Nice car.' 'Thanks' 'No, thank YOU'
  683. [01:47] <Skeleton> Dragon Theft Auto
  684. [01:47] <~flibbyjibbits> He asks you something in Terran, then waits a moment, then tries draconic, "What language is easiest for you?"
  685. [01:49] <Moonside> [Draconic] "Common..." [Common] "Uh, this one. I'm not sure if it'd have a different name where you come from."
  686. [01:49] <~flibbyjibbits> "I just call it human, for the most part."
  687. [01:52] <~flibbyjibbits> "So," he says, leaning on his hammer, "What are you here for?"
  688. [01:52] <CommodoreJim> I'm glad to finally hear language I understand.
  689. [01:52] <Eltrotraw> ("a way out")
  690. [01:52] <Moonside> "Well, I guess that makes sense. In any case, we have some peculiar problems and heard that we might come across someone that's able to help if we stick around. Would you mind?"
  691. [01:53] <~flibbyjibbits> "A lot of people come to me with problems, what do you need?"
  692. [01:53] <Skeleton> Hmmm... how insignificant must one individual world look to the guy who lives in the middle of all of them
  693. [01:55] <Moonside> "A way to go back to our country that doesn't involve passing through the borders, since we're technically illegal immigrants in here."
  694. [01:55] <~flibbyjibbits> The other voice, apparently a silver dragon, pokes his head around the side of the furnace to get a look at you
  695. [01:56] <Moonside> Pikkup squees.
  696. [01:56] <Deathfish64> More like gasps in amazement
  697. [01:57] <CommodoreJim> "gasps"
  698. [01:58] <~flibbyjibbits> "All you need is to get to a place? Thats hardly difficult. Why did you need to come all the way out here for that?" asks the dragon, stepping out along the side- he seems to be wearing dented and damaged steel armor over a lot of his body which is kinda weird for a dragon I'd think
  699. [01:59] <CommodoreJim> I frown behind my helmet. "Well, it does seem rather insignificant if you put it in such a way."
  700. [02:00] <Moonside> "We had nowhere else to go. And actually... I have to admit that I really wanted to just see this place."
  701. [02:01] <Deathfish64> Pikkup is too awestruck to speak
  702. [02:02] <~flibbyjibbits> The smith goes back to the workdesk and starts tinkering with something and the dragon moves closer and then sits down
  703. [02:02] <Deathfish64> tinkering about
  704. [02:02] <~flibbyjibbits> "Which timeline are you from? Maybe I've been there."
  705. [02:02] <Eltrotraw> ("that one timeline where the gnome killed the king, maybe you know")
  706. [02:02] <Skeleton> "How... how do you talk about them in relation to each other"
  707. [02:02] <CommodoreJim> ("omg")
  708. [02:03] <Moonside> Also, which one of them asked that?
  709. [02:03] <Eltrotraw> (in seriousness, it's like 200 years after the war, right?)
  710. [02:03] <~flibbyjibbits> the dragon did, sorry
  711. [02:03] <Skeleton> Oh, language?
  712. [02:03] <~flibbyjibbits> hes talking in common now
  713. [02:03] <~flibbyjibbits> 200 years since the rakor-farim war, 800 since the big one
  714. [02:03] <Skeleton> All right, leave my line said I guess
  715. [02:06] <~flibbyjibbits> It makes a sound that could probably be interprestted as a laugh, "Oh, my mistake, I forgot you sorts don't travel between very often.", the dwarf shouts, "Hardly ANYONE moves between timelines except for you and other lunatics", and the dragon continues, "Do you know of any parts of the state of your cycle, or uh, hmm, who won the last one?"
  716. [02:07] <CommodoreJim> My brain hurts.
  717. [02:08] <Skeleton> Reading Dwarf's lines in the voice of Dyntos from KIU
  718. [02:09] <Moonside> "...Rakor killed the dragon Ashra. As for the current one, well... it's a mess."

  752. [02:18] <Deathfish64> "I knew it. meeting yourself or your relatives would just be too embarrassing."

  754. [02:18] <Deathfish64> (btw how did the dragon fit through what were described as normal doors)
  755. [02:19] <Moonside> I was wondering that too.
  756. [02:19] <Eltrotraw> shapeshifting
  757. [02:19] <~flibbyjibbits> "I suppose it is, yes. Now, what I'm thinking is, you can do something for me, and then I can get you to wherever you need to be."
  758. [02:19] <Skeleton> Magic duhhhhhhhhhhhh
  759. [02:19] <Skeleton> "Sure!"
  760. [02:19] <Moonside> "...what's that?"
  761. [02:20] <Deathfish64> "Really?"
  762. [02:20] <~flibbyjibbits> maybe the doors only look normal to your perspective because each of them appears locked or open or sealed depending on the possibility of each of you entering it
  763. [02:20] <CommodoreJim> "Or disastrous."
  764. [02:20] <Skeleton> I knew itttttt
  765. [02:21] <Deathfish64> Pikkup is imagining right now how great it would be to fly with a dragon
  766. [02:21] <CommodoreJim> "Yes, sir."
  767. [02:21] <CommodoreJim> *kiss
  768. [02:21] <CommodoreJim> scandalous :O
  769. [02:21] <Deathfish64> wat
  770. [02:21] <Eltrotraw> "If it's so easy to get us back, why have us do a favor for you?"
  771. [02:22] <~flibbyjibbits> "Well, for that, the doors that look locked to you are the ones that you're alive behind, the doors that are unlocked you're either dead or never existed in. The ones bricked up are the lines where things went bad and they had to be sealed off to prevent damage to the rest."
  772. [02:22] <Deathfish64> Because dragons are selfish DUH (not racist)

  783. [02:25] <Politoed> Wonder what doors would be locked/unlocked for only some of the party
  784. [02:25] <~flibbyjibbits> "I need new armor. I want to try some more exotic metals than just steel though. In your world, some time ago, the mad king Rakor went on a quest to exterminate several races, including my own, from his continent, correct?"
  785. [02:26] <Moonside> "...yeah."

  791. [02:30] <~flibbyjibbits> "Before the civil war that split Farim off from it, which I think happened in all but two or three lines, much of his weaponry was enshrined in various small, well, shrines, throughout the land, if you could just find some of that for me, the smith here could recover enough to infuse a new suit for me. "
  792. [02:31] <Skeleton> "Or that."
  793. [02:31] <Deathfish64> So he wants us to collect the weapons of a legendary dragon slayer... to make a new suit of armor?
  794. [02:31] <~flibbyjibbits> "I can pay you, too, if you still feel like its not worth your efforts and you'd rather find another way home."
  795. [02:32] <~flibbyjibbits> nobody said he was smart
  796. [02:32] <Skeleton> ("Thanks but no thanks! Adventure and nearly dying is its own reward! Right guys!?")
  797. [02:32] <~flibbyjibbits> well he probably has said it thousands of times because he thinks very highly of himself
  798. [02:32] <Deathfish64> Actually I was thinking that's a pretty badass dragon
  799. [02:33] <Deathfish64> Pikkup probably is too
  800. [02:34] <Moonside> "Well, that might be an interesting quest to go in, but... couldn't you do it yourself? I mean... you're a dragon. I'd assume that you're stronger than we are."
  801. [02:34] <CommodoreJim> ("I wish I could tame him...")
  802. [02:34] <CommodoreJim> ("But I left all my pokeballs at home")
  803. [02:34] <Deathfish64> Maybe he can't fit in the shrine
  804. [02:34] <Skeleton> Then he can punch it down, eh
  805. [02:34] <Deathfish64> Anyway, Pikkup would feel guilty about stealing from shrines but if it's a quest given by a dragon he can easily get over it
  806. [02:35] <~flibbyjibbits> "I'll take a little look around your land, see if I can spot any nearby, then I'll try to find you. I can't really go into buildings or underground areas designed by your races."
  807. [02:35] <Moonside> "...I see. Well, you guys have any objections?"
  808. [02:36] <Moonside> I turn to the others.
  809. [02:36] <Deathfish64> "I'll do it!!"
  810. [02:36] <Skeleton> "Sounds like a deal"
  811. [02:37] <~flibbyjibbits> "Excellent. Do any of you have some way of signalling me?"
  812. [02:37] <Eltrotraw> ("offer him that stupid orb, no one likes it anyway)
  813. [02:39] <CommodoreJim> (*the orb flashes blue and sheds a tear*)
  814. [02:39] <Skeleton> But it likes me
  815. [02:39] <Moonside> I have no signal flares on me.
  816. [02:40] <CommodoreJim> Freddie's a signal flare, right?
  817. [02:40] <Deathfish64> I can levitate freddie while he casts flashy magic spells
  818. [02:40] <Skeleton> How could you miss Drom, he's a big stinky orc who is visible from space
  819. [02:42] <~flibbyjibbits> dancing lights might work since they can move 100 feet per round
  820. [02:43] <CommodoreJim> How can you miss Freddie, I'm throwing him into the sun
  821. [02:44] <Skeleton> why would you do that
  822. [02:46] <CommodoreJim> That's what big stinky orcs do, right
  823. [02:46] <Moonside> Well, do any of you have Dancing Lights?
  824. [02:46] <Skeleton> Both of us, no?
  825. [02:47] <~flibbyjibbits> you do yes

  828. [02:47] <~flibbyjibbits> thats why i said it

You find Rakor's stuff inside, bring it to me, and as soon as the smith confirms its genuine, I can bring you to where you need to go."
