Extra Assignments
For those of you missing classes this semester, you must complete all class assignments first and I would have you view or read each of the following that you missed:

View missed episodes of Legacy Series
View COSMOS "Backbone of Night" (if missed)
View Ascent of Man episodes "Starry Messenger", "Drive for Power", "Knowledge and Certainty"  (if missed)
View Global Warming / Inconvenient Truth (if you missed class on 12/6 on renewable energies)
View E=mc2 if you missed the lectures on Einstein (11/29 & 12/1)

Penalty assignments for those missing more than:

4 lectures: Do a study on numbers of ECE professionals who will be retiring over the next decade
6 lectures: In addition to the above, you will determine the numbers of ECEs graduating from Europe, China, and India
8 lectures: In addition to the above, you will determine the number of school days attended by US, Japan, China, India, South Korea and Finland K-12 students
10 lectures: All of the above, plus you will view or read Silent Spring by Rachel Carson and discuss the philosophy of Barry Commoner.

Summarize each and give a detailed set of conclusions. Please submit it directly by email to bchen1@unl.edu

You will have until the start of classes (Monday, January 9, 2012) to complete your incomplete or you will need to retake ENGR 469 in the Fall of 2012.
