- Hey guys, how’s it goin?
- It took a while, but I did make progress in Falsebound Kingdom thanks, in part, to the Konami code allowing, for all intents and purposes, unlimited money. It doesn't feel any different than other Yu-Gi-Oh! games allowing and encouraging passwords to get actual cards. All more money gets you in the Yugi route is access to a few more pieces of equipment. Kuriboh is a high-risk, high-reward play. When you just need damage all around, Kuriboh does it faster than anyone else I've found. That said, the misses HURT. I had a run close to WR pace on Thursday that flopped hard on Obelisk thanks to many untimely misses by Kuriboh and Harpie Lady. Paralysis saves so much time, though. If the other Harpies didn't require extra fights, I would get them, too. There's a reason Challenge Mode uses Harpie Lady Sisters. Suffice to say, I feel like I have the best three options for the main team. I'm just going to keep trying this week. It'll come together eventually.
- I have also officially started my quest through the Pokémon Puzzle League 1P Stadium levels. Starting from the bottom since the runs are shorter, I tried to take back my Easy mode record this week. Easy mode is hard, though, because the factors outside of your control have a greater impact on the final time and the stages are starting to swing heavily on these outside factors. Oh who are we kidding, it was already this way in 2014! I had several close calls—multiple runs got within 10 seconds. I even left Sunday with a run I measured to be a 5:51.25. I did not re-time my previous run and my splits showed a 5:51.4. I had to dig deep into the audio forms to get the proper time because the beginning of the run actually has no proper visual cue for when to start timing. It turns out that my original time was 5:50.83. Seeing as how I have had multiple runs within 10 seconds of that time, I am confident that I will be able to make progress in that mode soon. (Two months later... just you watch.)
- That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, thanks for reading!
