  1. A door
  2. The window between
  3. Opening, shielding, blinding
  4. Alternative perspectives
  5. The gateway to the truth
  6.
  7. >The hinges creak as you open the front door.
  8. >After locking the hot night air out by closing it, you remove your shoes and plop down on the couch.
  9. >Work was a hassle today.
  10. >With Fluttershy's constant pestering, you barely got any work done.
  11. >The Apple Family pays daily and by the basket.
  12. >You pull out the two bits and put them on the table.
  13. >Then mutter to yourself.
  14. "Fucking Fluttershy."
  15. >Why does she always have to mess everything up?
  16. >That's pretty much all she does.
  17. >She'll come and bother you when you're doing something, and next thing you know, everything is ruined.
  18. >Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if it were only words.
  19. >She evolved from awkwardly trying to get your attention to actually trying some of the things she was mumbling.
  20. >Like trying to fondle you as you nap.
  21. >Or hiding in the trees so that when you reach for an apple, your hand meets a very tight, wet, and unpleasant surprise.
  22. >And even switching out your bottle of applejuice with her home made juice.
  23. >Good thing it had such a rancid smell.
  24. >There has to be a way for you to get rid of her.
  25. >You lay flat across the couch and stare up at the ceiling in thought.
  26. >Is there a way to get her to stop?
  27. >Because the law wouldn't be happy were you to make yourself a yellow and pink doormat.
  28. >And as much as she annoys you, you wouldn't hurt her.
  29. >Physically.
  30. >Could it be just a phase she's going through?
  31. >She said it herself a while back...
  32. >That she's never liked a girl like that.
  33. >Until she met you.
  34. >If only you could at least understand why the hell she's like how she is now.
  35. >Then maybe, just maybe, you could find a way to get her to stop without hurting her.
  36. >As you ponder these great many things, your eyes become heavy.
  37. >When you close them, a knock comes from the door.
  38. >Who could be here this late?
  39. >Well besides...
  40. "Ugh."
  41. >You open your eyes and get up.
  42. >As you near the door, you hear Fluttershy's voice.
  43. >Great.
  44. >Flinging the door open, you say what you usually say to her.
  45. "Get the fuck-"
  46. >The sight stops you.
  47. >Instead of seeing your porch and the front lawn, you see a view of your house from across the street.
  48. "What the..."
  49. >Fluttershy is talking to another version of you.
  50. >What the hell is happening?
  51. >You close the door and open it again, just to be certain you're not seeing things.
  52. >The image remains there.
  53. >Weird.
  54. >Curious about what this even is, you reach out to touch it.
  55. >Your hand goes flat, as if touching a wall.
  56. >That's strange.
  57. >Fluttershy speaks to the other you while holding out a long black object in her hoof.
  58. >"Femanon, are double dildos your fetish?"
  59. >The other you furrows her brow.
  60. >"Fuck off Fluttershy."
  61. >The door is slammed on Fluttershy, causing her to jump and eep a little.
  62. >Whoa, wait a second.
  63. >You remember this.
  64. >This was a week ago.
  65. >But what does it mean?
  66. >Fluttershy whispers, but you can somehow hear it perfectly clear.
  67. >"S-Sorry..."
  68. >She turns around with her head hung and starts walking down the path.
  69. >Tears stream down her face and she snivels a little bit.
  70. >You might feel something for her if she didn't do this all of the time.
  71. >The picture fades to black.
  72. "Well that sure was strange."
  73. >After closing the door, a bright white light surrounds it.
  74. >When you reach out to touch it, it disappears completely.
  75. >What in the world is going on?
  76. >A fizzle sound echoes across the house.
  77. >You turn toward where the sound is coming from and see a flashing white light up the stairs.
  78. >With hesitation you ascend the stairs, not sure what to expect once you reach the top.
  79. >The bathroom door to your right is flashing white.
  80. >You grab the doorknob and the light is severed.
  81. >When you open it, it is similar to before.
  82. >A view of Sweet Apple Acres is in front of you.
  83. >Another you is standing on top of a chair to pick some of the higher apples.
  84. >Fluttershy is standing next to the chair, looking up at her.
  85. >You remember this as well...
  86. >It was a few days ago.
  87. >She managed to stay with you and distract you all day.
  88. >She speaks, and once again it sounds as if you are right next to her.
  89. >"Hey Femanon, do you ever get a strange feeling in your tummy when you're with someone?"
  90. >The other you drops a few apples from the tree into the basket and responds without stopping.
  91. >"No Fluttershy."
  92. >Fluttershy drags a hoof across the ground and bashfully looks down.
  93. >"O-Oh... Okay."
  94. >She opens her mouth as if to say something, but then just looks away with a sad expression.
  95. >She then mumbles to herself.
  96. >"I j-just want you to notice me..."
  97. >It fades to black as she stares into the trees.
  98. >What does all of this mean?
  99. >You close the door and it disappears like the other one did.
  100. >Without thinking, you go to the closet door and open it.
  101. >Just as you suspect, there is another one.
  102. >This one shows you the inside of Sugar Cube Corner, where you and Rarity sit across from each other.
  103. >As the other you tries to discuss the latest gossip, Fluttershy enters.
  104. >This was yesterday.
  105. >Rarity waves her hoof for Fluttershy to come over.
  106. >"Hello darling! Come, sit and chat with us!"
  107. >The look of displeasure on your face is extremely noticeable.
  108. >Maybe you didn't think so at the time, but looking back at it now...
  109. >It was pretty rude of you.
  110. >Fluttershy takes note of your expression and avoids your eyes as she scoots in next to Rarity.
  111. >Well that was mean, she hadn't even done anything yet.
  112. >And you were already treating her as if she had.
  113. >As Rarity and you speak, Fluttershy looks back and forth between you both.
  114. >She seemed to hold your gaze longer than Rarity's.
  115. >Occasionally she nods to something, but most of the time she would keep quiet.
  116. >After a few minutes, the other you stands up.
  117. >You know why you did that.
  118. >It was because Fluttershy was creeping you out by staring at you like that.
  119. >After you leave, Fluttershy says her goodbye to Rarity and exits as well.
  120. >She looks like she is on the verge of tears as she walks out.
  121. >She speaks to no one in particular.
  122. >"D-Did I do something w-wrong?"
  123. >The picture goes black.
  124. >These are really starting to make you think about things.
  125. >Mostly if what you're doing is right or not.
  126. >The bedroom door shines and you rush over to open it and learn something new.
  127. >It shows you today as you are dragging back a basket of apples.
  128. >Fluttershy is flying next to you, about to talk.
  129. >"Hey Femanon, I think-"
  130. >The other you cuts her off with a hand.
  131. >"Damn it Fluttershy, if it's something stupid again then I really couldn't care less."
  132. >She shakes her head.
  133. >"N-No, it's n-not stupid! I promise!"
  134. >You watch as you give her an angry look.
  135. >"It better not be. What do you want, Fluttershy?"
  136. >Fluttershy looks hurt by the tone that you used, but still speaks.
  137. >"I was g-going to say-"
  138. >She doesn't pay attention to where she is flying and smacks into a branch.
  139. >The branch snaps off and falls down on the basket, breaking it and sending apples rolling down the hill.
  140. >The look on your face when you realize what has just happened is one of extreme hatred.
  141. >She flinches as you scream at her.
  142. >"GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! ALL YOU DO IS RUIN EVERYTHING, YOU STUPID AWKWARD AUTIST! STOP BUGGING ME WITH YOUR STUPID SEXUAL ADVANCES ALL THE TIME, OKAY?!"
  143. >She stays flying there in the sky for a few seconds, looking very hurt.
  144. >Without warning, she takes off flying into the town.
  145. >She closes her eyes tight as she flies to try to prevent the tears from flowing.
  146. >Once she is far enough away, she goes up to a cloud.
  147. >She buries her face in it, sobbing uncontrollably.
  148. >Her voice is heard through the cloud and sobbing.
  149. >"A-A-All I w-wanted to s-s-say was that y-you looked nice today... How c-could I have m-messed that up?"
  150. >It goes black and you stand there, thoughts racing through your mind.
  151. >A loud knock booms through the house.
  152. >You are startled awake.
  153. >Looking around, you see you're still laying on the couch.
  154. >It was a dream then?
  155. >It felt so real though.
  156. >The knock is heard again.
  157. >You stand and walk to the door, a little bit dazed from what you've just experienced.
  158. >When you open it, you see Fluttershy standing there.
  159. >Her eyes are pink and puffy, like she's been crying a lot.
  160. >She's trying to hide it, but failing miserably.
  161. >"Femanon."
  162. "Flutt-"
  163. >She cuts you off.
  164. >"No, l-let me talk. I want to say..."
  165. >She looks down for a second and takes a deep breath before returning her eyes to you.
  166. >"I want to s-say that I'm sorry. I shouldn't have tried to f-force you to do something you weren't c-comfortable with."
  167. >You stand there completely baffled.
  168. >First the crazy dream, and now the crazy reality.
  169. >She inhales sharply, cutting the silence between the both of you.
  170. >"Well, I guess I'll just be g-going now then... I'll see you around."
  171. >With a depressed look on her face, she turns around to leave.
  172. >She snivels a little bit as she walks away.
  173. >All of the events from before and the dreams flood through your mind.
  174. >The guilt overwhelms you.
  175. >You call out to her.
  176. "Fluttershy, wait!"
  177. >She stops and looks back over her shoulder, tears pooling in her eyes.
  178. "Do you um... Do you want to come inside for some tea?"
  179. >Her eyes widen and she turns completely around.
  180. >She looks confused, but a small smile slowly stretches across her face.
  181. >"R-Really?"
  182. >You nod and step aside, making room for her to enter.
  183. >She snivels once again before entering with a sincere smile on her face.
  184. >When she is inside, she turns to you.
  185. >"I-If you don't m-mind me asking, why?"
  186. >A light smile appears on your face as you turn to her.
  187. "Sometimes having an alternate perspective on something really helps."
  188. >The hinges creak as you close the front door.
