  1. ***Important notes***
  2.
  3. In this document I will be referring to the videos that are located in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9x3FZgtou8YK1K6AYX1EGf1wawBKQMJC
  4.
  5. Additionaly, the phrase "the current route" refers to the route that is used by Wilko, which is detailed on this page: http://bombch.us/tBg

  8.
  9. Alright, so here are my findings on Pinna 6 for the 120 Shines route:
  10.
  11. First of all, a timing of the Pinna 6 that is located in the current route can be found in the video "Pinna 6 Blues Comparison 1", on the left-hand side. My main point of concern for improvement was the fact that one of the X's is not gotten in Pinna 6 in this route, but rather in Pinna 6 Reds.
  12.
  13. The videos called "Pinna 6 <Fruit name> comparison", compare the movement in Pinna 6 Reds in the situation that the second X is gotten in that episode against the situation where it isn't (making the movement identical to Pinna 6 in any%). The average difference between these 2 situations is about 17 seconds.
  14.
  15. The current route also collects the blue coin in the clam at the start of Pinna 8. This is compared against not getting said blue coin in the video "Pinna 8 Clam Comparison". The difference is about 3.5 seconds.
  16.
  17. My initial thoughts for improving the route involved including both the second X, and the clam in Pinna 6, while using the generous timer of the second X to get some coins at the same time. At the same time I tried to reorganize the ordering in order to minimize the use of Yoshi during the level. This resulted in the route on the right-hand side of the video "Pinna 6 Blues Comparison 1". This route is about 20 seconds slower, but if we take into account the second X and the clam (17 + 3.5 = 20.5 seconds), they're about the same.
  18.
  19. Rearranging the coins turned out to not be worth it, however by this point it was obvious that getting the second X in Pinna 6 is faster than getting it in Pinna 6 reds. This leads us back to the old Pinna 6 route that Stelzig used, which can be found on the right-hand side in the video "Pinna 6 Blues Comparison 2". According to the timer this route is just as fast as the other 2, however I had quite some trouble getting a good recording for this route, I estimate this video has about 4-5 seconds worth of movement mistakes. If we subtract this from the timing in the video, we see that this route is 4-5 seconds faster than the other 2 routes.
  20.
  21. Lastly, by incorporating the second X into Pinna 6 in the current route, we achieve what I consider to be the best routing. It can be found on the left-hand side of "Pinna 6 Blues Comparison 2". Stricly by time taken, it comes out to be the same as the other route in this video (If we add the 3.5 seconds needed to get the clam coin in Pinna 8, and subtract the 4-5 seconds in mistakes from the other route). However in my opinion this route is easier, as the electic koopass are in much more convenient positions, thus making it less likely for them to hit you which can make you mess up one of the linked coins. Additionaly, when spraying the first X in the old route it's possible to accidentally launch the papaya away from the tree, which can cost you a lot of time if Yoshi wants a papaya. This isn't a possibility in the new route.
  22.
  23. So in the end I would suggest using the route on the left-hand side in "Pinna 6 Blues Comparison 2", however the route on the right-hand side of this video is equally fast. However take note of the fact that due to the movement mistakes present in the videos it's impossible to discern with 100% certainty which route is the fastest when played flawlessly, and as the differences are quite small it's probably a good idea to use the route which you like best.
  24.
  25. ***Remarks***
  26.
  27. Getting the blue bird and the coin behind the rollercoaster at the same time as the second X can be a bit tricky. You pretty much need to land Yoshi on top of the gazebo, or the bird coin needs to spawn next to it so you can collect it immediately. If you mess this up, I'd suggest skipping the rollercoaster coin and getting it in Pinna 8. The videos "Pinna 6 Rollercoaster Comparison" and "Pinna 8 Rollercoaster Comparison" show that getting the coin in Pinna 8 is only 1.5 seconds slower.
