  1. [03:28] Andras would wave Lukas off as he watches them depart for the time being, only to gently frown. With the way they were zombie-walking off, he would only hope they made it home in one piece. Glancing back at Hestia, he would pay her mind as he listens to her idea of what her magic was comparable to. In a sense, he could understand her connection with alchemical ingredients and her illusionary magic. They were able to transmute to a degree, though he would say that he hasn't heard someone make a connection with the two subjects. Her thought process was interesting, to say the least.
  2.
  3. "Outside of alchemy, what is that you aspire toward? Everyone has a dream, so I feel inclined to ask what yours may entail. If it only has to do with alchemy, I would presume that having your own running shop would be what you're after." He states quietly, having made their way up from the under-ground market area. He felt as if he could breathe once more, and his shouldersgently sag as he seems to untense.
  4.
  5. "I imagine these crystals may prove difficult, but I wouldn't stress on the matter, too much. I'm not in a rush to receive the order, after all."
  6. (Andras)

  9. [03:28] Emmeline asks, "I'm Emmeline, I'm sure you've heard of me?"
  10. [03:28] Emmeline says, "I"
  11. [03:29] Emmeline says, "..."
  12. [03:29] Emmeline says, "I'm a pretty big deal."
  13. [03:31] Iridas tilts his head.
  14. (Iridas Sarai)
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16.
  17. [03:31] Iridas Sarai says, "You came off a lot more timid than you sound now."
  18. [03:32] Emmeline says, "You're coming off a little poor."
  19. [03:32] Emmeline asks, "Do you even have cash to give me?"
  20. [03:32] Iridas shakes his head and just turns away.
  21. (Iridas Sarai)
  22. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  23.
  24. [03:32] Emmeline says, "...that was a joke."
  25. [03:32] Emmeline says, "Come on."
  26. [03:32] Emmeline nudges the fellow with her elbow.
  27. (Emmeline)
  28. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  29.
  30. [03:32] Iridas looks back at Emmeline.
  31. (Iridas Sarai)
  32. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  33.
  34. [03:32] Victoria pulls out a strawhat and hands it over to Task. It was invisible, so he'd have to make due.
  35. (Victoria Olgimskaya)
  36. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  37.
  38. [03:32] Emmeline says, "What's your name, huh? You haven't screamed yet, or looked at me weirdly."
  39. [03:37] "Getting the crystals isn't too tricky, just requires a little bloodshed. They're gained from Blazons, a rather nasty creature in the nearby desert. We could head there now, if you like, or later, whichever you prefer." Later was probably better -she didn't have a lot of room for more reagents in her bag at the moment. As he asked his question, she didn't even hesitate before answering.
  40.
  41. "Well, as you may have guessed, its alchemy related. And no, actually, I've no real desire to consider opening a shop my pinnacle of achievement." She focused once more on the ambient magic in the air, creating the two dimensional image of the words 'Hestia Malasis, Alchemical Inventor' to punctuate her answer. "In simple terms, I want to create. My dream is to create new, better potions and concotions, and to advance the art of Alchemy far past what is currently considered the cutting edge. And I want to do it in such a way thatpowerful potions don't rely on the supply of a rare ingredient from a different continents months of travel away."
  42.
  43. A lofty dream it was indeed, and one she planned to achieve. A little more focus and the letters 'Malasis,' and 'Alchemical' drifted apart, the word 'Legendary' appearing in between them. A bead of sweat dripped down her forehead, and she released the illusion. She could make them, but they were still rather tiring.
  44. (Hestia Masalis)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [03:38] Iridas shakes his head and answers,
  48.
  49. "I've been looking at you weirdly the whole time."
  50.
  51. He then nods at her, eyes on her hair,
  52.
  53. "What's up with your hair?"
  54. (Iridas Sarai)
  55. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  56.
  57. [03:43] His gaze gently travels upward, watching as words began to form out of the illusionary magic that she possessed. He could discern it was but an illusion, but that didn't make it any less 'real' to him. The words were pleasant to observe, and her lofty goal matched the impact that 'legendary' had as it slipped between her name and Alchemical. Many aspired to be the best in the fields they pursued, and he was pleasantly surprised to see that Hestia was no different. If anything, her aspirations could truly benefit the people, if she had gone about it in a certain way.
  58.
  59. "What sort of potions or concoctions would you make, if you manage to advance the alchemical art past its current form? Many things are left undiscovered, and so many tests remain unfinished. The world itself is a vast mystery, and trying to mash this-and-that together to create a reaction is even more complicated." He explains, his eyes eventually drifting back down to peer at the woman with a thoughtful expression.
  60.
  61. "If you manage to achieve this, how would you wish to change the world? To affect the people around you, and the like." It seemed like a pretty heavy question to ask, but it wasn't as if he was searching for a specific answer. No, an answer he wanted to hear would be boring.
  62.
  63. He wished to hear first-hand what were -her- thoughts, and she wished to achieve on her own accord.
  64. (Andras)
  65. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  66.
  67. [03:43] Task would squint at the invisible strawhat, mostly because it didn't exist and was clearly a whole farce devised by the one winged deviant. Taking a thoughtful drag from his corncob pipe, the watchman would turn his tired, brown eyed glance upon the maid with a light nod.
  68.
  69. "I suppose the table is large enough for the two of us. Who are you stranger? Don't believe I've chatted with you before, though my memory isn't the most robust these days."
  70.
  71. The bald commander would lean back in his chair, crossing his sinewed, half scarred arms over the purple plate of his cuirass and the navy wool of his watchman's cloak. He had time to kill and a market to watch, what was the harm in conversation.
  72. (Task)
  73. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74.
  75. [03:43] Emmeline puts on a playful frown.
  76.
  77. "Aww, that's not very nice. You know, I was debatin' on approaching you at all. You seem so... intimidating." Her eyes trailed up and down his form. "Sudbury?" she idly asked before moving to his next question.
  78.
  79. On the topic of her hair, she ran her fingers through the ghostly white strands of hair.
  80.
  81. "My hair? Oh, you know... an accident. Pretty sad stuff, mhm."
  82.
  83. Despite her words, she didn't seem very sad.
  84. (Emmeline)
  85. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  86.
  87. [03:44] He nods his head slowly and turns his face away-- eyes still glued to her.
  88.
  89. "Yeah, Sudbury."
  90.
  91. He was no stranger to being called intimidating, especially with his temperament.
  92.
  93. "Iridas."
  94.
  95. Is all he says to follow up.
  96. (Iridas Sarai)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [03:46] "You just scream Sudbury..." she answered back with a small grin.
  100.
  101. "Iridas, it's nice to meet you. Do you wanna shake my hand? If you do, do you promise not to rip it off?"
  102. (Emmeline)
  103. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  104.
  105. [03:49] This Drakanite was once more on one of her nightly strolls, she didn't really go to Sudbury much but, with the Syndicate withdrawn it was probably safe for her to do so; ontop of that, she was a commoner, she had nary any noble blood within her meaty form.
  106.
  107. "I'm Victoria Olgimskaya, servant of the Durans and I've recently became an employee within Desean's little organisation. Simply put my main thing I do is crafting. But I want to craft fancy items, not the run of the mill things.", it was a brief introduction that threatened to burst out into a ramble.
  108.
  109. "And you are?", she knew who he was of course, given his position but it was not proper to act on such information without true introductions.
  110. (Victoria Olgimskaya)
  111. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  112.
  113. [03:53] Hm, interesting question. And one she had to think about for a few moments before she was happy responding to it. There were several pages in her research journal regarding this, however, so it didn't take her too long to start talking. "Well, there are some basic ideas. Little modifications to existing concoctions to improve them. For example, modifying a levitation potion to become a fully fledging Draught of Flight." Actually, she rather liked that name. Hestia produced her journal, making the relevant notation before glancing back up.
  114.
  115. "I've also some more substantial ideas. I've a rough plan for developing an oil that would allow an article of clothing to be imbued with resistance to certain kinds of magic. I know at the least it'd require a crystal of the intended element, but its still in progress. As for how it would effect an individual using it..well, even a small resistance can be the matter of life and death. I'd probably sell them to the First Light and Watch so that they could be a little safer." It was an idea she liked, and one she thought could be quite effective, not to mention lucrative.
  116.
  117. "The other concept I'm entertaining at the moment is modifying the Genderswap potion to effect a permanent change. I don't know if I could eliminate the resulting sterility, but it would allow those uncomfortable with their biological sex to properly transition into a more comfortable form, and I feel that's a worthy goal to pursue."
  118.
  119. She nodded. "Yes, those are some of my immediate ideas. The first step along to path to becoming a legend." In her mind, legacy was important. Even if her name was forgotten, the use of a single potion she invented would ensure she lived forever.
  120. (Hestia Masalis)
