  2. Point Blank Range - Main Area
  3.
  4. Situated between a selection of fast food joints and with a gas station opposite, the firing range is in a good place commercially, with a parking area around back large enough for ten cars. Above the main entrance, the company logo and name announces the location, a doorway leading into an airlock style system to keep undesirables out; entering one door requires the other to be closed and for the receptionist inside to buzz you in.
  5.
  6. Once inside, the entrance area looks like most offices in the neighborhood, with cream color carpets and white walls, some of the paint starting to flake in places. It is, however, kept clean and presentable, with potted plants dotted around to add some color. A few tables and chairs are gathered nearby, as well as a small sofa and comfy chair, with a row of vending machines along one wall for snacks and drinks. On another wall a large wide-screen TV shows the interior of the firing range, allowing people to watch those already inside.
  7.
  8. Off the main area, multiple doors allow access to the classroom, storage, offices and public bathrooms, with a few marked as 'Staff Only'. A long counter, with a member of staff behind, allows for registration and equipment hire. All the equipment is on display, though the weapons are samples; the actual hire weapons are kept in secure drawers beneath. Once registered, the staff member opens the door and allows access to the firing lanes.
  9.
  10. The firing lanes are state of the art, air conditioned, with bulletproof glass divides, adjustable targets and comfortable firing points, with shelving for placing additional weapons or magazines. Though there are only six lanes allowing six shooters, one other friend or colleague is allowed to join, especially during group sessions, allowing people to take turns.
  11.
  12. The area has a light amount of security staff, all with holstered pistols and kevlar protection, who ensure people are sensible and play by the rules.

  23. Manager's Office <MO> Out <O>
  24.
  25. Mo makes his way inside, looking around the place like a kid in a gorram candy store! Eyes wide, and bushy tailed! If he had a tail? IT. WOULD. BE. WAGGING.
  26.
  27. The receptionist doesn't even seem to glance at the screen, but she knows, quickly reaching over to open the door for MoGui. Now she has customers, she seems to be quite happy, humming a little tune to herself as she quickly enters Brenn's details into the system. It takes less than a minute, Lucy might be tiny and young but wow does she know the job well. Quick taptaps on the keyboard, swipe swipes, "Ooh, that's quick today..", she murmurs inbetween tasks, ".. come on come on..", swipe, swish, thump, a new membership card created and offered across to Brenn. "Thank you! Your first hour is free, so..".
  28. And then it's on to Eden, "Hello!", beaming a smile in her direction. "How can I help?".
  29. Kristen takes a step toward the counter, watching the queue, "I need another computer in here..".
  30.
  31. Eden waits patiently behind Brenn, letting the PPD take his time. She was in no rush. Only the slightest of eyebrows is raised about kissing boys and girls. "Same, deal. I'd like to register so I can fire my weapons using the range. Here's my ID.", winking politely at Lucy while sliding over the military ID. "You guys recently opened, right? I haven't checked out the other ranges yet.", popping her gum softly.
  32.
  33. Brenn steps off to the side as he takes the membership card tucking his wallet back into his pants pocket. He looks around a bit as he examines this part of the range, "Very nice place for the location I'm rather impressed."
  34.
  35. Mo spies the queue and then goes to queue up! He reaches into various pockets, searching ... searching ... searching ... eventually? A photo ID! Cash money! ALL. THE. THINGS! His foottaps impatiently in line - taptaptaptap, fidgeting. Eyes scan the environs, going to the vending machines. "Mountain Dew?" he mutters to himself as he searches the rows and columns for his cold bev of choice.
  36.
  37. "There are two that I know of.", Kristen says, taking that part of the conversation, moving up to lean against the counter, "They're both outside Downtown though. This one was on the market and I recently made a lot of money, so I thought why not?", she smiles.
  38. "No problem at all!", comes the chirpy reply from the cute little receptionist, taking the ID and quickly taptapping her fingers across the keyboard. Things flash on the screen so fast it's a wonder how she even gets to read it.
  39. "I'm Kristen, the owner.", she explains.
  40. Perhaps she was aware of what the next customer wanted, because Lucy is already offering the membership card and ID back to Eden. "First hour is free. Did you want a firearm for today?", she asks, motioning at the selection.
  41.
  42. Serena steps back and out of the way so Lucy can do her job without distractions. She watches the new customers get their ID cards, impressed by Lucy's speed at the computer. Kristen is likely right - Lucy is probably underpaid. Serena keeps quiet for now as Lucy works through the queue.
  43.
  44. Brenn starts to head over towards the firing lanes, "We just go back or do we need to get assigned a lane or anything? And that's a nice windfall ma'am. A pleasure to meet you. I'm Brenn. Haven't been to the ranges here in the city cept for the city's range. Figured I needed to go a few more times than that to get better."
  45.
  46. Mo pays the fees, gets identified and rents some iron and accoutrements.
  47.
  48. Eden grins, "Yeah. I got my own firearms in the truck. But I do like firing Glocks. So I'll rent one of yours with two boxes of ammo. See if I like it. If it stovetops, Im gonna blame your cleaner and only give you four outta five stars in my review.", a teasing head nod to Kristen, "Nice place you got here, ma'am. I'll treat it kind.", speaking between Lucy and Kristen.
  49. Thanking Lucy for the expedient service while Mo, impatiently waited. "Do you also shoot yourselves? Or just own or work here?", curious about what the staff was actually capable of doing when it came to putting lead down range. Eden blowing a bubble and popping it, admiring Serena's outfit for a moment and moving her eyes back to Lucy and Kris.
  50.
  51. Leaning over to one side so she can spot MoGui near the vending machines, the pint-sized receptionist gently calls out, "Do you need some help?", a friendly smile to go with her pleasant demeanor. Through the process he goes without a hiccup.
  52.
  53. Mo gives the recep a cheerful smile, "This is all pretty nifty! Thanks for getting me set up!"
  54.
  55. The membership cards seem to have a microchip of sorts, a tap against the sensor will get the door to the firing lanes open. The firearms and protective equipment are there ready to be collected on the way through.
  56. "I try not to shoot myself, no.", Kristen chuckles at Eden's question, "I can't afford the hospital fees.", she waves off her silly attempt at humor. "Toward the end of the night or in the morning we might have a staff challenge.". A motion toward Ryan, "He's our reigning champion so far.", she grins.
  57. "I think I'll fire a few rounds myself. Would you like to join?", she asks of Serena.
  58.
  59. "No problem, sir!", comes the happy reply from the little receptionist, Lucy even hopping cheerfully on her toes at the thanks from Mo.
  60.
  61. Serena watches the others as they get their memberships lined up, and start heading into the range. She likes the looks of this crowd, looking each person up and down in turn. "Sure," she says in response to Kristen's invitation. "I'd love to. Lucy, can I rent a gun? I left my pretty pink pistol at home." Who knows what she really means by that.
  62.
  63. Brenn steps over to the door and pauses opening up his bag to pull out his safety glasses and ear pro since he'd come here to shoot so he was prepared. Stepping into the lanes as he puts on the safety gear and walking towards the furthest open lane setting the bag down to start pulling out boxes of ammo, empty mags and then he pulls out his service pistol as well as a backup pistol from the bag setting them down and ensuring they're locked to the rear and empty.
  64.
  65. Mo's handcannon of choice is a heavy revolver. Collecting his safety gear (SAFETY FIRST!), he'll hum a cheerful tune and make his way towards the range lanes!
  66.
  67. Moving up to the doors, Kristen taps her manager key against the pad and the door clicks, allowing her through. "It's alright, Lucy, I've got Serena.", waving her over so they can go back and collect all the necessities; firearm, ammunition, protective earplugs. And off to the lanes she goes, joining the others but allowing them to have their preferred choice of lanes. They are the customers after all.
  68. Lucy watches everyone heading off to the lanes with a happy smile, "Have fun!", she calls after them, a cheerful hop on her toes. "This is so much fun.", she admits to herself, rubbing her hands together and taptapping away at the keyboard some more.
  69.
  70. Eden grins at the little joke, it was cute and unexpected. Collecting the Glock 18 and two boxes of ammo. Soon she was passed the doors with a sensor. Earmuffs slipped over her ears and safety glasses put on to cover her eyes. She waited on a bench to prep the current magazine and load in each round. Smooth and methodical, Eden quickly filled up the clip and switched to the next one. Finishing four loaded magazines and setting up her table at the firing range. She sorted things like having micro levels of OCD.
  71.
  72. Upon hitting the controls to get the target into a decent range. Eden closed her eyes and shuffled her hips and feet till she felt comfortable in a Weaver's stance. Safety still on, she drew the weapon and tabbed it off. Squeezing a few rounds down range.
  73.
  74. Serena follows Kristen into the firing range, getting her eye and ear protection in place before selecting a Glock 20, some ammunition, and magazines. She brings them to one of the lanes and sets the pistol on the bench for now, slide locked open and all clear of magazines. She'll take a few minutes to load up a couple of mags with cartridges while she watches the others shoot, making mental notes since she is likely the least experienced shooter here.
  75.
  76. Mo squares up once he's in his lane, so to speak. The Chinese youth hums "Boom" by POD while he makes ready to squeeze off a few rounds. He's in an impossibly cheerful mood, dancing to his humming. Then a grin as he lets loose a round.
  77.
  78. Once everyone is in, Kristen picks the final lane and sets down a pistol, a Glock 17 for her, two fully loaded magazines and then slips the earplugs into place. She goes without the eye protection, she must be feeling brave. "I feel rusty.", she says, glancing through the bulletproof glass at the others, checking how others are handling things.
  79. Deciding on the easiest target type, she clips it to the rail and sends it as far back as she can. "So are we having a competition here? It's opening week, I'll work out a prize.", she grins.
  80. The pistol lifted and she carefully aims down the sights before pulling the trigger a few times, trying to hit bullseyes.
  81.
  82. Serena gets her magazines all loaded and pins up a target. "I always love competition. I fully expect to lose, but if and when I do win, I will be sure to let you all know it with a lot of loud and obnoxious self praise. I'm a very poor winner." She sends the target downrange to about the 15 yard mark and then picks up her pistol to take aim.
  83.
  84. Brenn looks over the two pistols he's got in front of him and picks up one of the mags loading up ammo into it he picks up the service weapon (heavy pistol) racking it back with a palm to the top of the slide pulling it back and then lifting up the pistol to sight down and squeeze the trigger firing off a round followed by a second and third in rapid succession.
  85.
  86. Mo grins as he lands the shot. Then he grabs a second revolver, so he has one in each hand. This? This only works in the movies, Mo! Its bad form to shoot two guns at once, sideways.
  87.
  88. Placing a hand against the control, the target comes whirring its way back up to Kristen so she can see it, puffing out a sigh at the hit spots. At least she stayed inside the circles. "I could use more training.", she admits with a grin.
  89. Looking through the bulletproof glass, she chuckles at the sight of Mo waving two pistols around; the security aren't laughing, one takes a closer angle to keep an eye on him, but only to watch.
  90. That chuckle turns to amazement as the shots hit bullseyes both times. "Holy..". Placing her pistol on the bench, she moves around to where MoGui is firing, touching him on the shoulder just to ensure he knows she's there, but really just so she can watch. "That's amazing. How long have you been shooting for? I think Ryan has competition!"
  91.
  92. Serena squeezes off two shots, and both miss. She wrinkles her nose, and then laughs softly at her own inexperience. Everyone starts from somewhere. She takes aim again, and slings a few more rounds downrange. Some hit, some miss, but all in all, she enjoys the moment regardless. She occasionally sets her weapon own, safety on, slide locked open, and just watches the others shoot. Or, maybe she just watches the others. She seem far more interested in the people themselves, rather than the their performances.
  93.
  94. MoGui? The kid was some strange mix of crackshot and mad lucky sonofagun. He squints, eyeing the target where his bullets hit. Then he looks over a shoulder at Kristen as he considers. "A while, I guess. Ever since I played cops and robbers as a kid." Setting the revolvers down, he extends a hand to the woman. "I'm Mo."
  95.
  96. Brenn's not really looking at any of the other targets right now as he fires a few more rounds off at his own target. Then when his gun is empty and slide is locked to the rear he ejects the magazine allowing it to fall onto the counter in front of him before he pulls the pistol to his chest and does a left and right look then sets the gun down.
  97.
  98. "Kristen.", she replies, taking the offered hand to give a friendly shake. "That must have been a very serious game.", she chuckles. "You're a natural. I haven't been doing this for long so I'm not the best shot, but I'll get there.", she nods.
  99. Looking over at Serena's untouched target, Kristen can't help but grin, "Serena, the target is that way.", she chuckles, walking toward her while pointing down range. "Maybe you should bring the target a bit closer.", she teases.
  100.
  101. Eden keeps on firing shots down range, admiring some other peoples handiwork and skill. A brief look to the watch on her wrist as she continued to participate in the challenge until all her rounds were spent down range. Firing until completely empty and watching the slide lock back to the rear.
  102.
  103. Checking her right and left much like Brenn, she sets the firearm down and rolls her shoulder. She might of been a decent shooter, but the recoil of a unfamiliar firearm could sometimes agitate. Her eyes turning to look at all the different targets impressed by the various accuracies. It smelt like lead and gun smoke and she wanted a deep inhale of it. Perhaps all the adrenaline and excitement.
  104.
  105. Mo smiles and nods to Kristen, "When you're a orphan, games of cops and robbers is pretty serious stuff." He looks Kristen over. "Those're some pretty nice boots."
  106.
  107. Hearing that from Mo has Kristen looking down, angling a leg out from beneath the long skirt so she can see the boots, "I know!", looking back at Mo, "I was in love when I found them, they're so cute.", she chuckles. Foot back to the floor and she quickly returns to her firing point, "Come on, this time..", gathering up her pistol after sending the target down range.
  108. A gentle inhale, something about breathing correctly to steady the aim, someone told her about it once. Squeeze, pop pop.
  109.
  110. Brenn sets the service pistol down and picks up a magazine for his light pistol loading it up before he picks up the light pistol (a Hellcat because they're flipping epic) he racks the slide as he aims down and fires off a rapid two shots at the target then pulls the pistol back to his chest preparing to fire again.
  111.
  112. Serena sends more lead down range, missing the target more often than not. But she really does seem more interested in the other people than in her own shooting. She watches how they stand; how the focus; how their fingers squeeze the trigger - even and steady. She's amused and impressed by MoGui's 'Gun'dam style; she's admires Brenn's calm focus; and damn if Eden doesn't give shooting a sizzle. Her attention turns to Kristen, and she laughs. "Oh... that way? Thanks, babe!" She picks her weapon up again and shoots some more.
  113.
  114. It's not perfect, but those were two rapid fire rounds and they're both inside the main circle if not near the bullseye. Kristen nods, shrugs, she's okay with that.
  115. "At least I'm hitting..", Kristen says with a smile, placing the weapon down again to step back out of her secure firing line to see what the others are doing.
  116. "Yeah, if you could not shoot in Connor's direction, he'd appreciate it.", she playfully says to Serena, motioning to the kevlar'd guard watching over things. "Hey, I saw the target move that time! I think you hit it.", she teases. Hopefully they're friends or that's teasing someone with a deadly weapon!
  117.
  118. Mo gives Kristen a nod and a 'thumbs up'. "They really are," he says before he goes quiet so that Kristen can coach Serena through the shooting. Then he looks over at everyone else's targets and choices of weapons.
  119.
  120. Picking up the rented glock with one sweet action, Eden pops the new magazine in there and sends the slide forward with one motion. Soon a bullet is flying down range and ripping through the paper target in a previously hit area. Biting her bottom lip as a few more rounds were popped off. Completely and utter dedication to her task. Probably the same time of military bearing and professionalism of having a firing range instructor yell in your ear for a qualifications. Watching Brenn with the Hellcat, it was pretty cool to see the weapon fire. A grin growing larger as Sarena finally hit the target with the encouragement of Kristen.
  121.
  122. Brenn chuckles as he finishes up his mag for the Hellcat, "Oh such a nice range. I'll have to come back more often." He ensures that the weapon is empty before he sets it down and takes a step back looking around some as he idly reloads his mags.
  123.
  124. "I know what you need.", Kristen tells Serena, raising a hand with a single finger up, the universal 'just a sec!' gesture. Then she takes off jogging back toward the main room and the collection of firearms. It doesn't take long and she's jogging back again, this time with a shotgun and a selection of shells that she places down for Serena. "You can't miss with that.", she grins.
  125. The woman had also picked up something for herself, moving back to her firing point with an MP-5 submachine gun. "Oh, this should be fun.", she smiles, slapping in one of the readied magazines and clicking off the safety.
  126. "Hey Mo?", she calls over, "Can do you do those Matrix moves? You know the movie?", she grins.
  127.
  128. Serena watches the others for another moment, basking in their enjoyment at the sport. After a moment, she sets her sights down range once more, and sets her sights downrange once more and makes several perforations in her target before she exhausts her current magazine. The weapon locks the slide open when her last round is spent. Her inexperience in shooting has her confused for just a moment before she realizes she's just out of ammo. She fingers the release and lets the empty magazine drop on the bench before setting her gun down. "How's that, Kristen? I hit it some more. Do I get a passing grade now?" She's laughing a bit as she talks, watching the others again since she seems more interested in observing them than in shooting her own target. Then Kristin is bringing her a shotgun, of all things, and she looks downright scared at the though. "I've never shot one of these before... what... what do I do?" But it is something new, so she can't resist trying - but surely someone will need to show her the ropes first, lest she unintentionally removes large chunks of her own flesh with the weapon.
  129.
  130. Mo smiles, giving Kristen an eyebrow waggle. "Well, not all of'em, no. I haven't leaned how to stop bullets in mid-air, for example," he teases. "But some of 'em? Yeah. Yeah, for sure." A wink as he doesn't specify which ones. He collects the rented revolvers and ammo - no sense in continuing to hollow out an already hollowed out bullseye, right? Besides, there was a Mountain Dew with his name on it in the vending machine! "Buy you a drink when you come off the range, yeah?"
  131.
  132. Lifting the MP-5, Kristen aims downrange and gently squeezes the trigger. Bullets fly out at speed, sputtering her arm steadily upwards until there's a ping of a ricochet off the room and it goes bouncing off into the bullet trap at the end. "Woah!", she laughs, quickly dropping that back onto the counter, as if it was going to turn around and bite her. "That's an exciting one.", she smiles.
  133. Hearing Serena, she moves around to her lane and picks up the shotgun, slides in a few shells. "So, you lift here.. keep it against your shoulder, this kicks.. pull this to slide the shell in and let go..", chunk chunk, ".. then aim and shoot.", she smiles, clicking the safety on before handing it out to Serena.
  134. A look over at Mo and she nods, "Sure! Only if you promise to give me a few lessons.", she smiles.
  135.
  136. Brenn glances over as Serena gets ready to fire a shotgun... He looks at the petite woman and then the twelve gauge shotgun and blinks, "Lean into the shot ma'am. Shotguns have a habit of surprising folks with their kick when they don't expect it."
  137.
  138. Eden looks to Mo taking off, then Brenn and his hellcat. Finally to Serena with a shotgun, with Kristen helping her. She would of offered, but decided to stay back and let someone else be the hero. Blowing a large bubble and popping it. Eden then quickly spent the rest of her magazine in a speed with accuracy test - till the final shell ejected.
  139. Lowering the firearm and rubbing her shoulder after all the shots were fired. Giving herself only a momentary reprieve until, she started cleaning up her bench. Eden collecting her things to return the rental gear.
  140.
  141. Mo makes his way out away from the range lanes, turning in all of his equipment and safety gear. Another nods and thumbs up to Kristen, and then he's making his way over towards the vending machines. Time to claim the spoils of war! Or something something something. He selects a classic Mountain Dew, and then makes his way over to find a spot to sit and sip, now that he had finished shooting the shit, so to speak.
  142.
  143. You leave the Firing Range.
  144. You sit down at the Table near the Vending Machines.
  145.
  146. Serena pays attention to Kristin as she guides her through the basics of the weapon, and then takes the shotgun for herself. She snugs the butt of the weapon tight into the well of her shoulder, takes aim down the barrel, using the bead at the front to line up the shot. She nods in gratitude when Brenn offers his advice, and leans forward a little, edging her weight more on her forward foot. Then BOOM! She squeeze off a shot with a loud report, the rifling kicking against her frame with a surprising amount of violence. "Holly shit!" she laughs, looking at the tattered remains of her target. "I think I just had a little orgasm...!" She keeps the weapon pointed down range and says, "I think someone should take this away from me, though... it's a little intimidating..." She's still laughing, the adrenalin taking full affect.
  147.
  148. Moving out of the way, Kristen returns to her own lane and starts making the weapons safe, removing the magazines, ejecting remaining rounds, until she's finished and has everything at hand.
  149. The woman does keep looking up, however, watching Serena as she readies the shot, breaking into soft giggles at the response to the larger weapon. "Thanks for sharing!", she calls back about the level of excitement. "I thought you might like that one.", she grins.
  150. Back to Serena, she glances at Brenn on the way, "Thank you for the tip.", a soft smile before stepping into Serena's lane to help her with the shotgun. "Shall we go and check on Lucy?", she asks.
  151. The Lucy in question takes everything back from MoGui, bouncing around happily as she places this here, that there, "I hope you had fun!", she says over to the man while she's busying herself.
  152.
  153. Mo knocks back a deep drink from the tall can of Mountain Dew, humming some hip-hop tune or another to himself as he waits for Kristen to wrap up and such.
  154.
  155. Brenn goes and makes his Hellcat ready for carry holstering it in an IWB holster and tucking his shirt over it before he cleans up the rest of his area putting the heavy pistol into his messenger bag along with the spare mags and left over ammo before he pulls the target back taking a look at it he folds it up to throw it away on his way back out, "Lovely range you have here I'll be back quite a few times good place to keep my skills up besides the mandatory range time for work."
  156.
  157. "You're welcome anytime.", Kristen replies to Brenn with a smile. "You'll find it a lot faster next time, now you're in the system.".
  158. With the weapons safe and secure, Kristen gathers up her firearms and the remaining ammunition and heads back to the front of the range where the young receptionist is waiting. "You're right about that MP-5.", she tells the girl with a little grin.
  159. "Right?!", Lucy replies, all wide eyed and excitable, a little bounce on her toes. Taking the items from Kristen, she starts rushing around again, placing things away securely.
  160. "So right.", Kristen replies with a smile. Looking around the rest area, she spots MoGui sitting nearby and makes her way across to join him, sitting in a seat opposite. "That was impressive shooting.", she says to him as she settles.
  161.
  162. Kristen leaves the Firing Range.
  163. Kristen sits down at the Table near the Vending Machines.
  164. Kristen joins you.
  165.
  166. Serena is happy to relinquish the firearm, and she tends to her shoulder a moment, rubbing out the dull numbing sensation that radiates from where the butt slammed its kickback. "I think I might have to shoot that bad-boy again, sometime. A girl could get used to a big, powerful gun like that." Takes a moment to collect what's left of her target from the rail, and clear out her weapon before heading out of the range. She follows just behind Brenn, and asks, "YOu a cop or something?" She wasn't near enough to see his ID when he was getting set up with a membership. She waves to Lucy as all the weapons and gear are gathered up. "Shoot a shotgun someday, if you haven't already. It's quite a ride."
  167.
  168. Brenn looks over at Lucy and then at Serena, "Just make sure I'm here when you do I have to see that." He grins a bit as he waves and heads out the door to return to his previously planned programming.
