  1. 4:57 - Don't cross the field unless you have possession of the ball. Rotate with your teammate instead. It's tough when there's all of that open space, but having someone who's back move forward is so much easier than someone moving perpendicular with the play while crossing the field.
  2.
  3. 4:50 - You followed the ball for too long. There was no way you were going to catch up, especially after draining all of your boost. Go back to goal sooner.
  4.
  5. 4:41 - You weren't wrong for going for boost. Since your teammate left it and you were out, there was no reason not to. With that said, you started off encroaching on the ball instead of the boost, then continued tentatively toward the ball after you got the boost even though your partner was there. It's good that you didn't blatantly try to steal it, but from the start, you should just go straight for the boost, then head straight out to mid for a pass. Your partner literally only had the option to pass it, but since you were waiting behind him, he couldn't do that, so he had to try and dribble from the back corner. In the end, the ball just came right back, but this time with more pressure.
  6.
  7. 4:26 - I can't fully say that you are wrong for heading to that boost pad, but you need to rotate faster. This is the perfect opportunity for a 2v1 situation since PoopyButthole was just passed the ball to NONE while taking himself out of the play. Also, PoopyButthole had 73 boost, so stealing it from him would not have made much of a difference. If going for the boost, turn the other way for a faster rotation, or just to keep your odds, don't even go for that boost. Either collect the small ones on the ground, or go for a mid-boost.
  8.
  9. 4:19 - Look where you are and look where your teammate is. Spread out more.
  10.
  11. 4:11 - This is partially NONE's fault for not rotating, but at the same time, you should be rotating to the other side of the field. Rotations aren't linear. They're curved. The reason for this is to both go around the play and enable you to turn back into the play if need-be. Not to mention, you actually turned into NONE when the play was going in the other direction.
  12.
  13. 3:56 - Stay mid and wait for the pass
  14. 3:55-3:47 - Notice how you move all the way across the field just to meet the ball in the back corner? Once the possession shifts, rotate back then come up to it. If you rotate to goal and wait for the opponent to do the exact same thing, you could meet the ball from the other direction and easily pass right up to your teammate. Instead, you waste a lot of time ball chasing.
  15.
  16. 3:43 - Your teammate's fault
  17.
  18. 3:12 - Good job not ball chasing. Now just turn toward mid-field rather than the side.
  19.
  20. 2:59 - You're teammate is very bad at rotating.
  21.
  22. 2:49 - Stay further back. Rule of thumb: unless there's no pressure, on offense, always stay about half a field's length away from the ball when you don't have possession. You want to be able to push the ball back to their side. Not the other way around.
  23.
  24. 2:37 - You gain about 10 boost from going to that corner pad and back. You could gain just as much from a nearby small pad.
  25.
  26. 2:26 - It's not bad that you go for the boost, just rotate back to mid-field. You know where your teammate is and you know where the ball is. The boost should not be a reason to change your position. Get it, the go straight back. All that you are doing is opening a lane for the opponent.
  27.
  28. 2:23 - You're in a 2v1 situation. Your opponent is on the right side and he was backing up. Where do you think you should shoot the ball? Correct Answer: The left side. First, check to your left to see if you partner was there for a pass. You could even see him right before you take your shot. If he's is, pass it. If he's not, try to cut to the left and then pop the ball over the opponent. He was in no position to be going for a ball to his side and above him.
  29.
  30. 2:17 - Example of a good rotation.
  31.
  32. 2:04 - What are you cutting left for? Your teammate was there. You should either be heading back or staying mid.
  33.
  34. 1:52 - This is exactly why I keep telling you to stay mid and not follow the ball. Even though you had no choice here, the results show.
  35.
  36. 1:44 - Again, look at how spaced out you are! Even though it's kick off, this is is how you should be all game.
  37.
  38. 1:24 - These are the times when you need to just force your way in there. Your teammate should not be going for this. All that means is that you need to get there faster. I know it's an unnecessary hassle, but it's the only way to succeed in these situations without completely giving your teammate the ball.
  39.
  40. 1:15 - This entire goal was your teammate's fault.
  41.
  42. 1:09 - Careful with these clears, especially right after a kick off when your teammate has no boost. Instead of dodging off the wall, simply jump and do an aerial to give yourself more control over where to hit it. Try aiming for your corner so then it will bounce away from your side while remaining out of the middle. It's much harder for the opponent to score it even if they're waiting.
  43.
  44. 0:58 - Another good rotation. Your rotation was okay after they gained possession, at least for your tier, but when you get to diamond, they need to get a lot sharper and faster.
  45.
  46. 0:42 - Oh boy. Dribbling the ball up the corner and toward your goal at high speeds is incredibly dangerous. You never know what's going to happen and the corner is the hardest place to control your car. If you can turn to the side, do that. Otherwise, leave it and wait in goal.
  47.
  48. 0:31 - That is the third goal where you scored while spacing out.
  49.
  50. 0:24 - For these kind of shots you have 2 options: 1) Power shot 2) Control the ball and dribble it in. Whichever one you choose, you need to slow down and in some way catch the ball. If you're doing a power shot, wait for it to bounce. Either do a higher jump to hit the ball at a higher point so it doesn't fly so far up, or wait until after the bounce and so that it's hit with less power. In any event, try consciously forcing yourself to slow down and don't think that you have to hit it immediately.

  52. Key Points
  53. - Team-Friendly Rotations. Break out of the habit of staying on the same side of the field as the ball. If it's to a side, stay mid. If it's mid, stay to a side. Anticipate where the ball is going to go rather than heading to where it is. You'll start making a lot more plays.
  54. - Boost Collection. Know when and where to collect boost from. A lot of the time, you go out of your way to collect boost. Although this isn't necessarily a bad thing most of the time, boost does not contribute in any way to an expected rotation. Maybe you'll need to take a quick detour or go an extra distance, but never use it as an excuse to leave your post. Get boost, then go to where you need to be. Also, try to determine whether getting boost is worth it. If you're going all the way across the field to get a boost pad, then you drain all of the boost heading back, is there really any point in going for it in the first place?

  56. Summary
  57. Your mechanics, in this game, were very good. You didn't whiff much or even really miss that many shots. The main issue for you is your rotation and boost control (not to confuse with boost management). Really, your rotations improved significantly as the game progressed. With that said, over half the game was played where you were following the ball and laterally aligning with your teammate. You didn't ball chase much, but it seemed like there was an invisible string that connected your car to the ball and whenever the ball moved, you would move with it. Get out of that habit. Stay away from the play unless you're in the play. Be ready for passes and anticipate clears. Especially when your teammate doesn't know what in the world he's doing, you need to. There were too many opportunities for a great pass play that didn't happen because you weren't where you needed to be. There were also many awkward defensive plays that occurred for the same reason. Always just try to space out. Be where the play isn't when you're not in the play.
  58.
  59. On that note, the boost was also a major factor in your positioning. Sometimes you would give up your positioning or completely change your rotation just to get boost. This is not good. It's not bad to go out of your way to get boost, but if you do, you need to go back. The boost is not an excuse. The play comes first. If you need to boost starve yourself in-order to stay in the play, then so be it. There's always small boost pads available. Sometimes you even go for the boost just to end up in the same spot with the same amount or even less boost than you started with. This is entirely unnecessary. Try to figure out when to get boost and where. Small boost pads aren't just there for show.
