  1. Nanotube Reinforcement Spray:
  2.
  3. This little device was developed for use by lower end security personnel in case of emergency order to protect them from the millitary grade weapons and ammo often used by shadowrunners without having to equip and maintain every rent a cop with high end armor or cybernetics. However, the CFD crisis, combined with the fact that Nanite sprays were not nearly as economical or shelf stable as Jazz, resulted in nanotube reinforcement sprays becoming a niche product more popular with the shadowrunners it was meant to stop than security personnel.
  4.
  5. This spray doesn't literally spray nanotubes. Instead it sprays out nanites with a carbon payload to create a thin layer of carbonfiber nanotube weave to augment dikote or rigid armor systems on clothing. The result is an extremely lightweight reinforcement to the wearer's armor, though in the case of dikote armored clothing it can feel... crusty... and this spray is optimally used on armor that features ridged plates like armored vests, full body armor, stealth armor, or form fitting body armor.
  6.
  7. Unfortunately, this reinforcement degrades over time. While the carbon nanotubes are extremely resiliant, eventually the brittle nature of the weave wears itself away, leaving a harmless carbon powder on the armor that can easily be washed out.
  8.
  9. {Chatter} Harmless, but irritating as hell. I once had to use 3 coatings of this stuff on a long run, and by the end I had such a big rash on my chest I thought I had been poisoned!
  10.
  11. Effects: When used on armored clothing such as armored jackets or high fashion armors, acts as a +2 armor accessory which only counts as a +1 for the purposes of over-encumbrance. It lasts for 1 hour before degrading and needing to be reapplied.
  12.
  13. On rigid armor systems such as full body armor, form fitting armor. or stealth suits, but not armor accessories such as securitech or helmets, it acts as a +3 armor accessory that only counts as +1 for the purposes of encumbrance, that lasts for 24 hours before degrading.
  14.
  15. Repeated useage without washing flexible armors results in coarse carbon powder contaminating the armor. This has no concrete game effect, but may affect the nature of glitches, and your PC should certainly be grumpy about essentially being covered in half dry sand!
  16.
  17. Cost: TBD. Enough so that it is a valuable consumable you think about using but don't apply every run.
