- Hello "TheLions".
- First of all, you should know that having an alternate account on Speedrun.com is a bannable offense, as stated on the rules: https://www.speedrun.com/rules.
- I also have to say that you, "TheLions" presenting yourself as "The community" is not exactly a smart choice. I don't know if you are just a group of 5-6 people or if you are 40 of the 50 runners registered on the Easy category. If I were you, I would make something like a signed petition, with the names of the people involved. That way, it would make your statement more representative and clear.
- Regarding each topic of the document:
- 1) Making Easy the default category. Uhm, I don't really have a problem with this one. I will change it in the following days. Hopefully no one will be strongly opposed...
- 2) Normal out of Misc: I already stated my views about this in the previous pastebin. I guess you can start some kind of voting system that shows that "The community" as a whole actually wants this but I'm not convinced by the arguments ("It's on the Genesis LB" and "It's the default difficulty") presented in your document.
- 3) Additions to leaderboards: "easy WR" is not the only or the main argument I presented in my pastebin about this subject. Please read it again.
- 4) Individual levels: if you want to run IL, please do so and upload your video in your personal channel. Please think about why other games on speedrun.com don't have IL in their leaderboards.
- Ok, about the next group of subjects, some of them posted on the forum following your post:
- -I have never thought or said that moderating TLK is too much work. Please keep in mind that I moderate other 20 games on this website. Honestly, is not even that demanding.
- -I have read the moderation rules multiple times. I also, believe it or not, take the time to read every single message posted on TLK Discord that I can see with my current permissions/roles.
- -About adding more moderators: I have said in various instances that if you want to be a mod of TLK, you can ask for mod in the "Request leaderboard moderation" thread on the main forums. Of course, this implies that you need to present a pretty good argument as to why you (an individual, by the way) wants to be a mod.
- -There is an easier method to be a mod: to be added by another mod. As of right now, some people that I would add are: Akiteru, TheMexicanRunner, Fonzoide, LuizMiguel. If any of them really want to be a mod, I would happily add them.
- -In the TLK forums, two people have been mentioned as candidates to be a mod: Nichole and PlayingWithDick. Nichole already used the forum mentioned above to ask for moderation and it was not granted. Regarding PlayingWithDick, I helped him recently to setup his first leaderboard moderation: TLK MSDOS, he is now the sole mod. I think he could be a good candidate in the future, but not right now. As you can see, my candidates to moderation in SNES are people with a lot more experience, both in TLK and about speedrunning in general.
- -About DCG: thanks to the input of BinaryDragon, and some members of the community, the result was the creation of the Misc. category for it.
- -The rules have been updated at least 4 times since last year.
- Hope this helps. Good luck.
