Minmus Leaf Rag

Oh yes it was a kerbal
a kerbal named Jeb

he and his brother,
they made up a bet.

Bill said look up at Minmus
You think that you could get there?

Jeb said, "you bet
and you know what
I think I could
get there with a

jetpack meant for flying 'round in orbit
and I think i'd get back with plenty of fuel"

Bill said, "hey no way that is impossible,
heck, if you could do that, it'd be really cool."

And so the brothers they
made up their team
Bob had assisted with making the scheme
And Wernher built the spaceship,
With Linus' internship

Then on the launchpad they gave it a go
and just watched it up-go
right into the sky
it really did fly
And the rocket fuel burned and really did flow

Then they reached the moon that they call Minmus
and Bob flew the spaceship but not to low though

Then Jebediah he disembarked from the ship
and looking down, he was moving at quite a clip
He did not know just how much the jet pack held
With the control stick forward he was propelled
Looking for some-very flat ground to land on

And-then he almost broke his legs--
He never knew what hit him
He hit the ground hard
but then soon he came to
Jeb found that he was stranded without fuel
At this point he-was convinced he seemed like a fool
He radioed to get rescued by the other two
The big ship came down, and Jeb just looked at the crew
Disappointed, defeated, dissatisfied,
they flew back, and went on with their lives.

So Jebediah was thinking for months,
of how he could win the bet and those funds
and then he-had-determined that he could-do-it much better
So he went back to the launchpad with a rocket and his buds
Reluc-tant-ly they said they would try-again
But Bill had decided to double the bet
But Jebediah was thrilled to put his planning right up on a rocket and put to the test

Fly to Minmus
Low altitude
Orbit that'll help with
the delta-v and the-thrust ratio
Jebediah
He stands so proud
In the cockpit, as he exits his brother is showing a frown
And then he turns on the jetpack
It's really it now, it's time to depart
He'll show the world what Kerbals can do with just a single part

He turns retrograde burning in space
Slowing the orbital velocity to a minimal and
then readies his now so-strong legs
 he-comes down to-the ground of a small moon that is minimal
BAM ab-ruptly he bounces off
the ground and as he screams out in great pain
his legs hit the icy crust and-then bounce
then he has landed again.

Jebediah has succeeded, even though halfway
he still celebrates the Kerbal way
he unpacks a snack bag
and starts writing a rag
And then he looks up and sees his parent ship
awaiting his triumphant return
and he thrusts up to meet the ship with just
enough of the fuel left to rendezvous with it.

Though Bill had rolled the hatch 'round
much to Jeb's dismay,
anyway he made his way
into the cabin
and to Bill's great chagrin
Jebediah gave smile and nudged his big brother
to say, "hey I told you that I could do anything,
even fly to Minmus with a jetpack, hey
you owe me a twelve pack."
