Sorry about the monstrous near-3-week gap of newsletters. I always consider the obligation of weekly delivery, but I feel it'll be a hollow newsletter with empty promises not fulfilled from the previous. The reputation of them diminishes if I do that. A favorite quote of mine in context of this from Ed Catmull involving Movie Production:

"Everyone remembers a bad movie, as that's forever, but not everyone will remember a great movie that was delayed to ensure the best quality."

▤▤▤ SMM Viewer Request level Queue v2.0 almost ready
I'm working with a close friend to bring enhanced management to level queue. I think interactivity of Mario Maker -can be- my favorite part of streaming it, but it requires overhauling the process. Right now, I'm so behind on just donation requests, I can't do chat request. And many toss me hard-as-fuck levels that take 60-90min to solve -- unfair to honestly better levels that take 10min, often not made by them. I'm fixing all that very soon! Check out the alpha build that's coming live within a week:

Will include mobile site, public queue, desktop site, options to request level or submit your own created level. I will (of course) do chat request at random for poverty-love, once the backlog situation gets under control <3

▤▤▤ Audio lag issue
At first, I thought Google Chrome or Firefox were causing memory leaks from the 4k+ average viewcount causing my stream to lag about 0.5-2sec within 3hr of being live - requiring either all-new audio or alternative chat tools - but thankfully it's neither the case. Only my game-audio lags, not my voice (upon inspection), so it's capture card related. SMM streams at 59.94 fps, not 60. So I'm testing streaming at 59.94 (instead of 60) starting today, please report any issues with audio desync.

I'm very hopeful this will solve and I don't have to get into the ugly world of headsets (patted down afro is the worst), earbuds (for 8hr straight, really?), or whatever else lame compromise I'd have to do to fix it. ;;

▤▤▤ Your sub dollars at WORK! <3 (new equipment)
I purchased a new lean-proof chair for when I concentrate so often on SMM (comparatively, I lean -BACK- during Yoshi Island since I auto-pilot a lot of sections). Got it in stylish yellow <3

Beleive it or not, I've been playing SMM on a less-than-ideal 10ms lag monitor more meant for PS work and real-estate than gaming. I adjust to it after a few days, but after playing CRT lagless Yoshi, I can -feeel- the lag! I purchased a BenQ 1ms monitor. Comes in Tuesday and I'm excited to play even better with better reaction! I also purchased a 5th display (I know, I'm overkill) just for chat at 500% size so I can better follow chat via glancing instead of having to STOP and READ it between levels.

I promise to get better at chat interaction =D

▤▤▤ #Creative streams have begun. Expect more!
Part needed, but also part fun, I heavily enjoy doing Photoshop/Stream work streams! I started one last week, and I'm so happy everyone enjoys the max chill atmosphere! I started work on new info widgets below stream, but I have a ton more to do. So at least 1 Creative stream per week (as I feel up to them, or not into doing a gaming thing) until everything is done. Ultimately, would like to have all new channel stuff done by January!

I'll have a formal newsletter focused mostly on specifics of my to-do list during Creative streams once I really get into it!

I have contacted Jisu about starting work on a big commission.

Biggest problem with these are either I foresaw more normies wanting less anime-oriented emotes (I was wrong about that, which makes me very happy), or the concept was too detailed and doesn't work at emote size. I will get all except 3 flags & Gaze redrawn. Concept references coming next newsletter.

Started thinking outside the box and I have -two- original ideas for emotes that are multi-part. I probably can be quoted as saying multi-part is bad in the past, but that's out of context. Multi-line I feel contributes too much spam and chat disruption, multi-part (as in, horizontally lengthier emotes) are fine, especially if the concept uses the real estate cleverly!

Miia will lay on a floor, making a variant of "HeyGuys" face, as a friendly chat greet type of emote (much like Sugoi, but better IMO). The important distinction of her being Lamia means her lengthy body is a excellent excuse for multi-part emote.

• tri1 = end of snake body w/ tail

Ideally, I want it so you can spam tri1 tri2 tri2 tri2 tri3 to "extend her body further to "extend" your affection towards chat. It'll be unique and unlike anything else done so far emote wise! Just wait!

▤▤▤ COMING December 15th: Mai Waifu - Chat App!
Way back in August, I did a chill stream talking about what Manga I've been reading while playing Yoshi casually. My chat, as weeab as they are, naturally had -a ton- of manga to recommend me based off what I had already read (shoujo, slice of life and moe stuff mostly). I talked to a close friend of mine about making a Manga Database bot to help keep track of recommendations. Last minute, I had a spontaneous idea of the bot -also- tracking Waifu for everyone in chat (for fun).

Once launched, the waifu idea immediately caught on and everyone enjoyed it, but all functions were done in chat and it clogged it endlessly like any game-bot does and caused more headache than anything else. But all that congestion lead to understanding better what I wanted out of my chat and what such a bot would mean to me under better direction.

Coming December 15, I present: MAI WAIFU

To promote a chat culture unique to what I'm into as well as minimize lurking if shy, I want to empower everyone. This will be a Google Chrome extension (coming to FireFox shortly after too) like FrankerFaceZ. Once downloaded, you can go to a special offsite to set your favorite fictional character (male or female). You can set their name, select their series they're from, set the type they are (Princess, Housewife, Highschool Tsundere, etc.), and include a tweet-length summary (140char).

Once set, it's set FOR LIFE. This is your waifu (or husbando). The one and only. This isn't a one-time fling, nor a meme. She is perfect and everything to you. Respect that. No one gets to change their waifu, so only set when you feel you have found her.

Once set, you granted a special NEW badge in chat (seen in WIP photos above) -- it's Chibi Pixel Art of Fujino btw <3. At which point, anyone can mouseover or click the badge to see info about you. Your waifu, her stats, how long you've been following me, and how long you've been subscribed.

This will empower lurkers to want to show off their tastes. It's like hyper-accelerating conversations about what we already talk about, without any of the chat clogging or mudslinging found in the previous version. Just chat -enhancement-.

Eventually, additional functions like showing fav anime/manga, recommendations via MyAnimeList will be added. (hype!)

This will be open to EVERYONE, have full functionality (toggle to work in my chat only, across all chats, turn off spontaneously, notifications of when new waifu are added, etc.), but I can't do it alone. My subscribers will help nurture the culture to avoid the meme-temptation as many will want to do.

It launches Dec 15, but for nearly two weeks, only subscribers can set waifu - because I trust them to respect what this can mean for everyone. Afterward, it's open for everyone to set their waifu.

I'll have full PR for Mai Waifu closer to launch date to further go over what v1.1 and v1.2 will feature (discord crossover? MAL integration? Sub Perks!)

▤▤▤ Finale Movie Night is the night of January 1st (not New Year's Eve; day after)
I will miss Movie Night, it is very special to me and you all can easily see that. So, I'm not going out on a false note blue balling in the middle of a triple-part Eddie Murphy tribute. We will go out in a blaze of glory, with nothing held back! As a departure before leaving for AGDQ for a week, I will give the ultimate Movie Night I can.

After much consideration, between Space Jam, a Futurama top 7 episode marathon, and a bunch of Disney nostalgia movies, I've decided that 1995's A Goofy Movie will be the one!

Songs? yes. Preshow dank? Absolutely Overtime w/ at least 3 episodes of something unrelated because I can? Sure.

But what else? I want to do a retrospective of what FMN meant to me during it (like a realtalk), and go over every idea I had planned for future movie nights (20+) one-at-a-time so that you, wise-viewer, can continue the journey of enlightenment I always enjoyed delivering <3

I have been hesitant to indulge into merchandise unless I can be distinctive and rise above the meta of uninspired ideas. I can say with confidence I have started talks with a trusted artist (not Jisu, someone else I love a ton, soon to be introduced/mentioned to you all) to begin exchanging ideas of what I -can- and -can't- do with shirts (I'm gonna push the envelope of what's allowed as-is my style~). Can't comment yet, but if it isn't DANK, it ain't worth <3

But shirts aside, I have -another- idea I'm working with FAKKU on for the ultimate-tier of apparel! Y'know those dope-as-fuck esports jackets that TeamLiquid and a few others have?

What if, instead of ESports, we celebrated H-Sports? Competitive players who respect the lewd and 2D? GASSSMM~ I will have more to report hopefully in December, this has been in the works for a few months (it goes much slower cuz I must make FAKKU-senpai happy and deal w/ legal department)! But I promise it's unlike ANYTHING else out there, truly something I'd wear and be just as happy to see you as well at your local Smash tourney or MTG major.

Based on Seigaku Academy Tennis Club jackets (ignore colors, I got lazy to fix it), mostly red with line art, F! logo looping, a catchphrase atop the back, with clean simplicity, mostly polyester so it's all-year-wearable. I will fight hard to keep this at $60 or less, but don't want to compromise the material to appease price.

This -cannot- be basic-bitch cotton-print. Higher standards for the most elite of status. <3
