# Samurai Jack VS Evil Ernie

First, to address the feat assessments.

You seem to have a strange conception that the amount of panels between one event and the next equates to how much time passes between them. You also seem convinced that talking isn't treated as a free action in comic books, especially older ones. If the latter weren't the case, you wouldn't see moments like [this](https://2.bp.blogspot.com/IRh-VM5zpS0kvMGMy2Qd7WTo1owSLnGtQgqqftlkCWIm8JJFUifi3xQtGmgo3UMWfxNW-2GtRLJgFtcaFN_KKn_1709s_uhgxLgWnV-DfWX6lbVkEAFdOLsee_F6_mQLpdgBMg=s1600) happen where four different people are able to talk to each other in the time it takes Ernie to land on the ground. (And yes, you can add this to the speed feats Ernie has. I just remembered I had it, and will probably slot it into his thread later on.)

Regardless, even if he did see it coming, he was clearly still standing where it was going to fire, or else he wouldn't have had to jump over the projectile. I'm not keen to spend a paragraph arguing this point, but still.

The first point is irrelevant, because you haven't shown Jack running as fast as a bullet. He can react, sure, but he's not going to be able to disengage at will.

For the last point, all of Ernie's Dead Onez are weaker than him in every area post-Resurrection due to them not possessing the Energy Arcane. We see that from them repeatedly dying to things that [don't even damage him](https://i.imgur.com/HZc5COR.jpg), being threatened by people with lesser feats than his own (Homicide considered those rednecks soldiers in the truck to be a credible threat to his unlife, hence why he was running in the first place), not having the resistance to certain damages ([like electricity](https://comiconlinefree.net/dead-king/issue-1/15)) that he does, [failing to destroy things that he can](https://comiconlinefree.net/dead-king/issue-1/23), et cetera. Ernie's Energy Arcane gives him better everything, basically.

Ernie also replicates at least part of that above feat by [running in front of a jeep and flipping it after it had already driven past him](https://i.imgur.com/S8v0TnZ.jpg), so the precedent is definitely there in this particular case.

Fair enough. Not like it makes a difference in the end with the other feats in play.

Refer to my point earlier about how talking is a free action in these comics. Whole conversations can be had in the same panel where someone is jumping in midair.

Already explained this one, but just to be thorough, "he's bigger" isn't a valid argument against scaling. Dead Onez like Homicide and Adi Si who were big and tough as all hell when they were alive are still demonstrably weaker than Ernie despite him only being a teenager.
