  1. This is merely my own stupid fan fiction-y trash ramblings about how i’d like to see the skaven as part of 40k.
  2.
  3. Where-ever there is decay, you will find vermin. None know this truism better than to the Aeldari and who patrol the twisted underworld of the Webway. Deep within this ancient dimension are immense pockets of supposedly uncolonized space so deep that even among the aeldari it is claimed to go on forever, where time and taint of it’s inhabitens have eroded he barriers between webway, warp, and the materium. There are Harlequins who have traveled within these dark places, only on missions of assasination and retrieval For it is in these decayed ruins that the Verminhorde dwells, the twisted race known as the Skaven.
  4.
  5. The Skaven masses are never short on potential options for their worship, for skaven ‘gods’ are an unusually cheep commodity. Manifested skaven gesalts, subsumed non-skaven entities or skaven psykers who ascended above the masses Skaven godlings kill and rend their fellows in bids of power that amuse the great horned one to no end and weed out the weak. Only the gods who last are made truly relevant upon ascending to the alter of 13. The hierarchy of skaven deities is determined by their age with the illustrious 13th spot being reserved for the great horned rat.
  6.
  7. Skaven lean toward ranged combat and the use of warpcraft. Their technological capabilities tend to lag behind the imperium ((Skaven being space WW1 to the imperium's space WW2)) but they make up for it by having a stronger psyker presence and their wonderful gift of warpstone.
  8.
  9. Pantheon
  10.
  11. The Great Horned Rat, like all the other skaven gods below him is empowered by the sea of skaven thoughts and emotions directed towards him. He is the firstborn skaven god, a true constant among Skaven society and is this worshiped to a degree that eclipses all lesser so called ‘gods’ of the skaven. As he is universally revered the great horned rat can be seen as the purest reflection of skavendom itself.
  12.
  13.
  14. Faction relations.
  15.
  16. >Chaos.
  17.
  18. Weakening the ruinous powers and subsuming them into the skaven is ultimatly the end goal the skaven race. The rampant slaughter of chaos worshippers is something that the skaven put a great deal of effort towards accomplishing. Only the slaughter of eldar is loved more then the removal of chaos worshippers.
  19.
  20. >Imperium.
  21.
  22. The average human is a realitivly good slave. Skaven observe human worlds from afar and swoop in at their moments of weakness to take everything useful back to the webway.
  23.
  24. >Craftworld Eldar.
  25.
  26. The hated enslavers. The skaven will joyfully kill and dance on their graves if they could. Frequently used as fall-guys to cover for Skaven politics ("Yes-yes, the Eldar scum-scum sabotaged the factory not me.") Skaven are constantly on the lookout for entries to the eldar craftworlds so they can overrun to kill the hated enemies.
  27.
  28. Dark eldar.
  29.
  30. Skaven and the Eldar of commorragh remaim in a state of prolonged siege. The skaven are unable to break past the eldardefences while dark city is unable to continue their expansions deeper into the warp under the threat of slaughter. The skaven regard the dark eldar as an utter cancer attempting to worm its way deeper into their great empire. Many skaven have taken to simply calling Commorragh the "Skavenblight" for the long list of humiliations and defeats attributed to it.
  31.
  32. >Orks
  33.
  34. Easy to manipulate, but also have a nasty habit of killing Skaven. Poor slaves, as more than a few burrows have learned after being overrun by Orks. Will sometimes be used as an easy in. (Orks arrive somewhere and create a warzone, Skaven arrive at the war's conclusion and leave nothing)
  35.
  36. >Tau
  37.
  38. Excellent slaves. Skaven frequently played on the idea of joining them as a client race to steal technology, though the tau have since wised up to those deceptions and have declared their hostilities.
  39.
  40. >Necrons
  41.
  42. More than one Skaven has awoken a Tomb World to make a raid easier. Skaven tend to ignore necrons as they are to much trouble to take on in battle unless they are already weakened from fighting something else.
  43.
  44. >Tyranids.
  45.
  46. The arrival of tyranids in the galaxy is something that utterly and completly horrifies the skaven. They fear the nids greatly and they fight the with every spare asset by assaulting their hivefleets, wiping planets of life and providing other races with an excess of hardware and supplies to fight them with.
