  1. The meditation of choice for this path has 5 easy steps to learn to meditate and induce altered states of consciousness in the mind.
  2.
  3. one of the most important things to keep in mind about this style of meditation, it can be done whenever and wherever as long as the practitioner keeps a thought-free mind. Constant practice at obtaining a mental state of thoughtlessness will help with energy awareness and objectivity.
  4.
  5. The first step for void meditation is to simply get comfortable. it doesn't matter where, or how, but the practitioner must make sure they are comfortable and can clear their mind. It is recommended to sit while meditating to avoid falling asleep.
  6.
  7. Eyes closed. this helps dramatically for beginners who cant block out the physical stimuli from creating random intrusive thoughts.
  8.
  9. Use physical or mental association. associating frequent meditation practice with a physical or mental task will help subconsciously induce the state of a quiet mind. This can be easily done with physical symbolism, especially with the hands. Mudras are used in Buddhist meditations for specific mindsets. Each Mudra is thought to flow energy through the body differently. It is recommended to create a personal Mudra through personal symbolism. http://www.indotalisman.com/mudra3.gif shows many classic Mudras
  10.
  11. Let the mind play out its thoughts. Do not force them, but let them leave naturally. one good method of this is "watching" thoughts slip away into a void, or empty space, in the mind with each exhale. letting the mind naturally quell all thoughts rather than forcing them will not only help bring on a clear mind faster, but it will help in the future as well. one thing that can help with this is a mantra, such as repeating "clear the mind", or the classic "ohm".
  12.
  13. At this point it is normal to start to feel weights on the physical body, or get a tingling sensation. This is the sensation of feeling the energy of the chakras, and is completely normal. Feeling the energy in this state is very important for future practice with energy sensing, be sure to strive to feel this often. At this stage, the practitioner is ready to induce altered mental states, move the energy in the body, or do any other practice needed for energy manipulation.
