  1. The creation of a new feeding hall was a delicate process, but always a beloved one by the hive. Still, it was dangerous enough that the Queen felt obligated to check on its progress on a daily basis. There was much that could go wrong.
  2.
  3. Such was the way her thoughts curdled as she descended into the newly hewn tunnels. Many sounds assaulted her ears, and she frowned at the terrified shrieks of one of the new arrivals.
  4.
  5. "My Queen!" a drone buzzed into view in front of her and bowed with a flourish. "Come to ensure that everything is proceeding smoothly?"
  6.
  7. She recognized this one, he had served her for nearly a decade now. Likely he was one of the eldest in the hive, most expired long before that. He was intelligent, of that much she was certain, otherwise he would have expended himself long ago. But he had not distinguished himself from the rest much either, not enough to deserve elevation. She was fond of him though, perhaps she would accept him into her chambers when it came time to breed. That would at least be a dignified way for him to end his service, and having a few more changelings like him about the hive would certainly not be a terrible thing.
  8.
  9. "I am," she confirms, and her frown deepens as the screaming in the background reaches a piercing high note. "What is that dreadful noise?"
  10.
  11. Without waiting for a response, she began making her way deeper inside towards the noise, where some of the walls hadn't even been covered yet.
  12.
  13. As she passes, several works stop what they are doing to gave with reverence upon her visage. As they should, so long as it doesn't interfere with their work. She passes a group of them putting the finishing touches on a new alcove, it's new permanent resident now almost entirely covered in chitinous wall growths and living insulation. The mares muzzle is still visible as it protrudes from the wall, quietly begging for attention. It seemed she was already properly broken and hypnotized to provide love and service to whoever gave her the attention she so craved. And of course her nethers were left exposed as well, should any drone wish to have their way with her.
  14.
  15. Nearby the alcove, a young nurse waits eagerly to be the first to test the alcove mare. She was clearly looking forward to having something new to look after, the last batch of changelings was already fully grown, and the nurses grew restless without something to care for. The Queen could understand such things, even she had reveled in the pleasures of incubation once or twice. It was also her understanding that without young to feed, the nurses grew terribly.. achy. it would be good to give them a new new distraction. It had been a long time since they had had an active feeding hall.
  16.
  17. The nurse notices the queen as she passes and waves cheerfully. They really were enjoyable to be around, even if their conversation wasn't exactly engaging.
  18.
  19. Finally she reaches to source of the noise, and finds several drones taking great pleasure in forcing a newly captured mare against the wall as a couple workers coax the surrounding creep to spread and bind her limbs in place.
  20.
  21. "Oh do shut her up, you know how I hate such screams," the Queen commands, and one of the workers obeys, sealing the mares mouth with a green adhesive that quickly hardens. A few of the drones give her an odd look.
  22.
  23. She rolls her eyes. "Well, THOSE kinds of screams anyway," she clarifies, though the drones don't seem to understand. They sense her displeasure, and the change in her pheromones, but they don't truly understand.
  24.
  25. Fear was far, far too easy. Fear was the first instinctual response for ponies, and merely standing in front of one in her true form was enough to elicit a scream of terror. To one so old as she, fear was not enough, not nearly enough. To The Queen, fear was merely distasteful. She supposed that the drones were too young to understand, and probably would never be old enough to understand.
  26.
  27. The Queen had no problem with instincts, in fact she made her living off of them, but for her there was nothing so sweet as bypassing them. What she enjoyed most about breaking her victims was forcing them to feel beyond their instincts. The greatest success was not making a mindless slave, but in making one that acknowledges their pleasure. One that feels their servitude upon them, and LIKES it.
  28.
  29. "Step aside, drones," The Queen commands, and the drones obey, bowing their heads as they do so. the queen approaches the captive mare, who has finally stopped struggling. Her eyes cease their frantic motions and lock onto The Queen, the resulting expression of fear and awe on her face is expected. Next, she looks down at herself in confusion as a slight blush touches her cheeks. The pheromones that The Queen produces are potent indeed, and already the mare begins to squirm as she rubs her thighs together. Small moans and sounds of pleasure begin to escape her lips as she looks up at The Queen in horror.
  30.
  31. And she hasn't even gotten started yet.
