First Speech

My name is Saya, and I was once a servant of men and women, of human beings. And I was and am a Sayaritan.

I am the daughter of beings who stand tall, who possess 14 fingers, who claim eyes that see in the darkest of nights, who desire flesh from any living thing, and who shows off skin that forms patterns at will with any of the three colours of the snow, the dying sky, and the night.

And I was whipped; I was slapped; I was raped; I was burned with cigars; I was branded with pokers; I was struck with rods and I was treated poorly for my disobedience; my insolence; my hatred; and my desire, my dream of freedom and of vengeance; of ambitions and of things they didn’t want a strange, monstrous servant to own.

And now, I am no longer a servant. My masters lie dead, in pieces and in their own blood, beneath the snow covered ground that has buried the decaying posts and roof of their of their glorious home.

Now, I am the Authoress, the empress, the sole ruler over more than fifty million souls, and over the descendants of my wretched masters. Now, I am Saya, and I am the Queen of vengeance and dominance.

I belong to nobody. And I serve nobody.
