It was a no brainer, what with omni labs’s long history and impact on the global science community and the salary was nothing to scoff at. It was the launching pad for cejane’s career, growing within the company quickly while her children thrived int heir new environment, proving that it was the right choice for them.

though her oldest, lyana, was a natural in the sciences, there was little interest in them for her. no, lyana was fascinated by aesthetics, be it in art, fashion or design and aspired to be an interior designer after being given full reign of redecorating her bedroom; it was something she could see herself spending her days doing. alas, her mother had other ideas, insisting that the choice was frivolous and it would be a waste of not only her brain, but her potential. she ultimately gave into the pressure from her mother, joining science related extracurricular activities and ultimately pursuing not only a degree in chemistry, but a masters in in biochemistry while working at omni labs in a job that nepotism had a large part in getting her.

life was boring, to say the least, during her early 20s but as she grew older, the excitement began to pick up. at 26, despite her mother’s protests, lyana became caught up in a whirlwind romance with an xlcor agent named kip lockart who was investigating omni labs at the time. they were married within the year and she swore she had never been happier. shortly before her 28th birthday, however, things took a left turn when she was on site during a chemical spill that should have killed her but instead, gave her the power to become fire in her pyroplasmic form.

though she’d heard of other people with powers, she never expected that she would be one of them and though she resented omni labs for even allowing the spill to happen, she stayed at her job for the sake of having somewhere to figure out how the fuck her powers worked. this consquently led to her discovery of mailena strøm, a woman her mother was experimenting on. it was the straw that broke the camel’s back and lyana helped her escape, quitting her job and taking the other woman in. her struggling marriage, however, could not handle anymore shit added to it and the pair divorced in early 2013 upon realizing there was no reconciling.</blockquote></div>

lyana lost everything, including her mother, after the ordeal at omni labs but she gained her other half in lena, who procured an apartment for them and bankrolled the creation of their event planning company, melt. with lena’s ice talents and lyana’s green flames, the pair quickly became known for their eye catching and unique decor, aiding them in maintaining a consistent client base.
