  3. Answer: Through “telescreens” which I personally assume are monitors setup in various rooms in his home that the Party uses to surveil him.

  5. Answer: It is to think and assume “rebellious” thoughts about the Party, which makes it the worst crime you can commit. The Party has even invented a language called “Newspeak”, which is trying to prevent political oppression against their government, therefore thoughtcrime is highly illegal.

  7. Answer: Free thought, freedom of speech, intercourse and any other expression of individuality.

  9. Answer: No he does not, he has even went so far and purchased himself an illegal diary so that he can write down his “criminal thoughts” in peace.

  16. Answer: He is certain that after some time they will be caught and punished, sooner or later. As he has purchased the highly illicit diary, Winston already know that he is doomed. While on the other side, Julia, the dark-haired girl, is more of an optimistic and pragmatic individual.
