  1. Sieghart had wandered around quite a bit, coming to rest ever once in a while as he pondered to unlock his potential. Having wandered just about the entire countryside, an idea came to him. He'd been training his body a lot, but a true challenge to both body and mind would be needed.
  2.
  3. Once he came upon a relatively nice spot, he sat on the ground, closing his eyes and beginning to meditate. As he seemed to gain more focus and concentration, a strange aura of pressure appeared around him. He slowly opened his eyes, but remained meditative as well.
  4.
  5. His aura of pressure seemed to remain as he seemed to look at the people around him, trying his best not to break his concentration as his aura wavered a bit.
  6. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  7. ~~~~~~~~~~
  8. Bas' attention shifted over to Sieghart. He didn't really notice anything outlandish about the other teenager who stood practically parallel to him. Well, regardless-- it was always a good thing to go out and attempt to make new friends, allies, companions; whatever one wanted to call a friend.
  9.
  10. The slum-born teenager dips his head low, bowing in Sieghart's general direction. His lips part; words flew freely past them:
  11.
  12. "Hi! I'm Basileios, I don't mean to, uh . . break your meditation or anything, but I must ask," he paused for a moment, continuing: "What exactly are you, uh. . meditating for, friend?"
  13. (Bas)
  14. ~~~~~~~~~~
  15. The strange pressure in the air around Sieghart seemed to slowly stabilize as he looked to Bass, another kid who proceeded to bow in introduce themselves to him. He only smirked a bit as it was asked why it was he was meditating. His aura seemed to even grow a bit more intense as the smirk grew into a grin.
  16.
  17. "It's okay, if anything you're helping me. I'm attempting to learn to focus on meditation, even when there's some noise around me. Being able to practice focusing on meditation while conversing should perhaps even help me more." He responded as his strange aura seemed to go in and out of stable levels.
  18.
  19. "Why exactly I'm meditating though, I'm attempting to learn to manipulate my mana in a concentrated, dense and raw form. By the way, I'm Sieghart Vaulkyr, but Sieg works fine. I'll probably call you Basille or Bas for short, if that's fine." He gave a slight nod as he seemed to ponder for a moment.
  20.
  21. He wondered just how many others there were in the square, as he could have sworn someone looked at him weirdly.
  22. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  23. ~~~~~~~~~~
  24. Bas listened attentively, shooting a thumbs-up afterward. Bas was the nickname he desired for folks to call him in the first place. After an approving nod, the teenager clears his throat, speaking:
  25.
  26. "Uh, cool! I think I know someone who can help you with that, it's some uh. . guy who always wear a white trench coat. Capable of utilizing what you're talking about! Anyway!" His eyes darted over towards Kieran, affixing onto him.
  27.
  28. Kieran was leaving or so that's what it looked like, so that probably meant it was time for him to also head out.
  29.
  30. "Right-right, I gotta go! I'll see you later."
  31. (Bas)
  32. ~~~~~~~~~~
  33. Sieg looked over with an especially attentive gaze as he heard the other boy speak of a man who could possibly help him with his learning of energy magic. A white trench coat, he would have to keep that in mind. As the other seemed to ready to go, Sieg seemed to shift his attention completely back to meditating, his aura growing even a bit stronger than ever.
  34.
  35. As the other left, he only gave a brief wave.
  36. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  37. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  38.
  39. Straight off the bat, as Sieghart enters the cave he is caught off-guard. A fish-like creature dashed at him a few steps even into the cave. He deflected its attack with his blade, but what came next completely surprised him.
  40.
  41. A bubble which exploded on impact! It sent him stumbling back as the creature once again dashed at him, but he recovered just in time. He exerted his energy as the aura of pressure that surrounded him in meditation once again materialized. This sent the creature stumbling back at its sudden release.
  42.
  43. This gave Sieg enough time to assume the Ifrit stance, now exchanging blows with the creature. It was actually a tough fight, Sieg being barraged by water magic and narrowly dodging bites. Sometimes, he even took an explosive bubble right to the chin, but he managed to slay the thing with a wave of force from his blade.
  44.
  45. Looking around the cave, he found there would be several more of these things, so he went back out to rest for a moment. It seemed if he wanted to explore this cave, he would really have to hone his stamina. This could be the perfect training.
  46. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  47. ~~~~~~~~~~
  48. Sieghart took a bit of time to rest, then to meditate outside the cave for a moment before going back in. He fully stabilized his aura, readying his blade and heading back in. Looking around, he found yet another one of the fish-like beings before it saw him and began to rush him.
  49.
  50. This time, he was ready. He rushed the creature wildly with the ifrit style, slashing powerfully, yet precisely. Hitting a few vital spots on the fish made it limp for sure, but now it was angry.
  51.
  52. It hit Sieg with a rush of bubbles with sent him back near to the wall of the cave. "Grh, damnit, these things are giving me trouble, they can't be that strong..." he muttered to himself as he prepared to put more effort forth. This time, he tackled the creature to its back, plunging his blade into its organs and successfully eliminating it.
  53.
  54. Taking a quick breather, he prepared to keep going as he attempted to maintain stability of his aura. He really did need some practice and honing if he wanted to materialize his mana in a raw form. Moving forward, he stayed keen to any other creatures that might rush him.
  55. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  56. ~~~~~~~~~~
  57. Sieghart battled with many of these fish-like creatures, coming across an extra strong one of them. Perhaps he was just getting exhausted though. Either way, he persisted to beat this creature, barraging it with slices and managing to kill it before he dropped to the ground in exhaustion.
  58.
  59. He didn't seem to have any major wounds for now, so that was good. His aura was weak though, he barely had any energy left. For now, he sat near a cave wall and recomposed himself, meditating while he did so.
  60.
  61. As his aura once again re-stabilized, he exerted mana with his full effort for a moment, realizing he could see the smallest of blue particles emitting from his being. Although it wasn't much, it could perhaps be considered a slight milestone.
  62.
  63. For the moment, he rested and meditated, attempting to focus his mana further.
  64. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  65. ~~~~~~~~~~
  66. Sieghart seem to let out a slight hum, or perhaps just a really long grunt, but he was attempting to harness his mana. Very small blue particles flowed around him, however they didn't seem to have any pattern or control. It seemed he could very slightly materialize raw mana now, but not enough to have any control over it.
  67.
  68. Getting up from his meditative position, he noticed movement that didn't seem to be like one of the creatures from the cave. He kept an eye on it for the moment, pondering what to do for now. It didn't seem he could sense that it was a person hiding in the shadows.
  69. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  70. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  71.
  72. Sieghart smiled as Bertha accepted his request to train. It seemed she hadn't the chance to train with anyone else since they had. He had only trained with one other person since then, so that seemed fair enough. Though, he had done quite a bit of training by himself, and hopefully that would make the real difference here.
  73.
  74. Sieghart gleefully led the way to the field they had once sparred in before, drawing his blade. Assuming the ifrit stance, he focused his energy and prepared to give it just about his all. A strange aura of pressure began to flow from him, but much more stable and concentrated now. If one looked closely, they could even see small blue particles flowing from him once he reached the height of his concentration.
  75.
  76. "I'm ready when you are." He gave a slight nod and prepared to charge.
  77. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  78. ~~~~~~~~~~
  79. Standing across from her friend she believed that he could be capable of bringing her down now... but there was still a chance she might be able to hold off and keep her ground. Without training it was going to be difficult, but she had heart.
  80.
  81. "I know that this isn't going to be easy my friend, but I really hope that I can still keep up with you." a large smile was on her face as she began to wonder how exactly this fight was going to play out.
  82.
  83. Getting down she removed her staff, it seemed about time for the two of them to finally go head to head.
  84.
  85. "Let's dance!"
  86. (Bertha)
  87. ~~~~~~~~~~
  88. Their first bout was a challenge, there was a constant bombardment of attacks which seemed to push into her without any real mercy. It was painful but she pushed through it, every time he got close there would be a blast of earth come from beneath him.
  89.
  90. With all of her magical capabilities it seemed like she was barely able to tick this notch off, literally required everything she knew so far but little by little Sieghart would eventually be brought down with the earth beneath him shifting and quaking from her will.
  91.
  92. "You're certainly a lot stronger Sieghart, I might not have really trained but I still remember from our last fight!" she was beaming from ear to ear, a big smile as she prepared to keep going.
  93.
  94. "You ready to keep going?"
  95. (Bertha)
  96. ~~~~~~~~~~
  97. Sieghard wasn't going to let himself be beat so easily this time. He remembered his last battle with Bertha, and keeping his distance was useless. This time, he stayed right near her, frequently delivering blows with the broad of his blade.
  98.
  99. Though, she did still seem to be able to avoid just enough of his attacks and land enough of hers to put him to the ground first. He got right back to his feet, brushing rocks and dirt off as his aura seemed to grow more intense, the blue particles around him beginning to become larger. He didn't seem to really respond to Bertha, but his irises now glowed blue as he reassumed his combat stance.
  100.
  101. It was clear he was giving this battle utmost concentration now. He wasn't going to lose to her so easily again. "Here I come." He said almost like a different person, charging forth for round two.
  102. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  103. ~~~~~~~~~~
  104. This time, it was clear Sieghart was giving it his all, even moving faster through the battlefield as he pursued Bertha. The particles of raw mana seemed to swirl around him in an actual concentrated manner now as he clashed with earth attacks and tried to attack his opponent. Sieghart was even breaking through rocks with his attacks now, and the rate he was growing was probably perceivably scary.
  105.
  106. He stayed practically right on top of Bertha, his attacks actually managing to break through her natural scaly armor. Once Bertha began to stumble, Sieg got a bit too hasty and missed a dashing strike at her. Now, she had good distance to hit him with a powerful attack, frustration was even visible on his face.
  107.
  108. 'Damn... I can't let her get me from there, or she will win this round for sure as well.' He thought to himself as he mustered up all of his will. With the thrusting forward of his hand, he actually managed to create a ripple of mana through the air to close the gap as he dashed in behind it.
  109.
  110. Given an opening to attack, he smacked her right on the back with his sword, managing to make Bertha fall to a knee as he took a jump back.
  111.
  112. "I can't let you take the victory over me that easily again." He said simply as he remained stance for battle, particles of mana swirling around him, though this wasn't a complete aura for sure. It was another step, though.
  113. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  114. ~~~~~~~~~~
  115. This time around their bout seemed to swing in the way of the swordsman, he truly did have an edge being closer... such a painful experience to have him hounding around without a chance of backing off. In her face, the entire time...
  116.
  117. Trying with all her might to blast him away, to give him a reason to step off... The reality was she didn't really have that chance, at least not at the moment. The mana being burned throughout this fight was pretty incredible as she was able to visually see Sieg's extensive use.
  118.
  119. Eventually she would be brought down, but it wasn't over. Not a chance. Rising back up to her feet she would stare upon the swordsman, feeling pressure for her incredible desire to win.
  120.
  121. "I am glad it didn't end so quickly, but I do hope that I can manage to win this whole thing."
  122.
  123. Moving forward she was ready to finish this!
  124. (Bertha)
  125. ~~~~~~~~~~
  126. Bertha had got up with relative ease, and Sieghart could feel himself at least beginning to get tired. It seemed the desires to win were going to clash, since it was just about an even matchup so far. Sieghart concentrated as hard as he could as Bertha prepared to charge for the third bout. The particles of mana now seemed to swirl throughout the strange aura of pressure that came from Sieghart.
  127.
  128. It seemed he was beginning to gain control of his mana through sheer resolve to win. Perhaps that's what he had been missing, he had been using focus and concentration, but perhaps the resolve behind the mana was what he'd been lacking. As the third bout began, the particles seemed to spiral around him furiously as he used his power to the fullest extent.
  129.
  130. Now, he could seem to use the ripple of mana he could materialize for a distance attack. He clashed furiously with walls and boulders of stone, breaking through them to get to his opponent. The fury of both the ifritstance and Sieg's will could be felt behind his attacks.
  131.
  132. It came down to a clash, Sieg attacking through the air as blue particles furiously circled around him. He'd managed to land the last blow on Bertha, having fell to a knee. A blow of the side of his blade to her chest made her fall to her back though, so he called this one a win.
  133.
  134. Breathing heavily, Sieg's aura of pressure and mana particles dispersed as he couldn't hold himself up anymore and fell to his front, face barely off the ground. "Nnngh… Good fight." Was all he could muster for now.
  135. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
