Smile just for me, mother

I'll never know what to tell them
Only I ever really knew our mother
She passed on far too soon, honestly
Neither of my sisters got to know her

I remember her warm embraces
Her kindness towards me early in life
That's really all I could use later on
When I had to look after my sisters

Now, they're mostly grown up
But I hold those memories strictly to myself
I haven't told either of them much about her
I'm not sure if I should keep it that way

But for now, dear mother...
