  1. I haven't really posted much about Game of Thrones, but that episode was just so amazing I have to dump all my thoughts SOMEWHERE - even if nobody ever reads it. if you haven't seen this episode, stop now. Major spoilers ahead obviously.
  2.
  3. First - loved Sansa sewing to start the episode. Even after all she's been through, she's still a lady, and is going back to her upbringing to help her cope. Beyond that, her scene with Littlefinger was probably my favorite scene of Sansa's to date. Everything about Sophie's performance there was just perfect. She really brought the rage and betrayal to life - and the lines really shed a lot of life on just how bad Ramsay was to her. I mean, we knew it was bad, but last season only really hinted at it - this told us how it went way beyond rape, and shows us just how strong Sansa was to endure it. And how she has every right to be furious with Littlefinger. But ever the manipulator, LF's little "half-brother" remark as he lives sowed the seeds that led to Sansa's lie to Jon later on.

  5. Anya's scenes were probably her most interesting of the season. Even if she was on the journey to "no one," this snapped her right back out of it and straight to the start of her list. Her time with the faceless men is ending soon, I think. (Could've done without the nudity here, as usual).
  6.
  7. Loved the Kingsmoot. Though it came off a little bit more awkwardly than the book, and I'm not sure how Yara and Theon managed to stir up a big enough crew to steal all the ships, I love that they're generally keeping with the Ironborn story from the book - that they're likely going to be the ones to meet up with Daenerys and bring her home. Euron was great - saying he paid the iron price to take the throne makes sense of them all basically just ignoring his confessed murder. Great line.

  9. Then Kinvara... man... this was some awesome stuff. The actress they had playing her was PERFECT, and Conleth Hill's reaction to her lines as Varys was just so good. That scene was just so filled with tension. And the way they're deliberately setting up the Dany/Jon contrast - BOTH with Red Priestesses calling them the one who was "promised" - I can't tell if they're setting up a conflict or alliance here. But the two are just as connected as we've always known. (My wife made a great point on the idea of a potential conflict between Dany & Jon - with Tyrion on Dany's side, we just can't see how he would go against Jon and Sansa. His only beef is with his family. I imagine it'll be an Dany and Jon as two sides of the same coin).
  10.
  11. I love Davos. He's just so good. I'm going to try to choose to ignore that it doesn't make a lot of sense for them to go try to get the Tully army - I mean, even if they weren't under siege (which I suppose Sansa wouldn't know), they'd have to cross the Twins anyway to get up to the North. Not a likely proposition. Oh well. I'm just glad Brienne got to have some good lines - she hasn't had too much to say really since Season 4.
  12.
  13. And then that ending... I don't even know what to say. As much as I want to know more about why the Children seem to be helping the humans now, and want to see more White Walker drama played out... Poor Hodor and Summer. What a heartwrenching end. Having already known the Red Wedding, Jon & Ned & Joffrey's deaths, and all the other shocking moments were coming when watching this show, it's so good to finally see one of those classic GoT stomach punches. Wow.
  14.
  15. And I've gotta end it with saying Sam is OP for giving them that Dragonglass before they set off North from the wall, eh?
