  2. Reira 4
  3. ~~~~~~~~
  4. Reira returns home and lets out a sigh. She pretends that she's just tired because of school. After exchanging a few more words with her mom and agreeing to help put out the dinnerware, she decides to work on homework. It's not like she has anything else to do.
  5. Then she remembers that she ordered a dessert recipe book from the bookstore and that she needs to go pick it up. Originally, she was going to go after school, but because of cleaning duty, she forgot. She's wondering whether to pick it up now or later.

  8.
  9. A) Work on homework
  10. B) Go to the bookstore
  11.
  12. First, I'll go with A.]
  13.
  14. Reira decides not to go to the bookstore today. Rather, she'll go tomorrow. This leads to Reira 5.

  17. Reira 5 (End No1)
  18. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  19. Reira tries to start working on homework, but she can't concentrate. She wonders if it's because it reminds her of what happened at school. Or maybe it's because she told Seika and Mito earlier. She keeps remembering what happened at lunch. The missing person incident and the suspicious person.
  20. It gets her worked up. But she remembers what Mito and Seika said.
  21.
  22. She brushes it aside and decides to stop thinking too much about it. It'll be fine. She's sure... it'll be fine.

  29. Seika 4
  30. ~~~~~~~~
  31. Seika is alone in the central shopping district of the housing complex. She explains that because of the massive supermarkets, most of the small businesses have closed, including a dagashi shop she used to play at with Reira and Mito.
  32. The air in the area feels stagnant, and maybe that's why this place... again...
  33. She notices someone else is in the area. It's a man. She wonders if he's the suspicious person that everyone's been talking about. He resembles the person in the poster.
  34. She wonders if he's a resident or an outsider. He's muttering something, but she can't hear from where she's at.
  35. That being said, she notices that his vacant eyes resembles ones from "back then". He leaves and she goes after him.

  38. Mito 4
  39. ~~~~~~~~
  40. Mito's mom welcomes her home. She offers Mito some dorayaki she just bought. Her mother asks how school is lately. Mito tells her that she's having fun, but her mother wonders if she's troubled or concerned about something. She tells her not to rely on just Reira and Seika but her as well.
  41.
  42. Mito explains that when she was in elementary school, the teacher told her mom that she's not getting along with the class. Ever since then, it seems like her mom has worried about it, so Mito thinks it'd really make her worry if she told her what happened at school today.
  43. Before her mom can ask again, Mito tells her that she's going to go do a bit of shopping. A new notebook. For school! Her mom offers to go with her, but Mito quickly leaves.

  73. Seika 4
  74. ~~~~~~~~
  75. Seika is alone in the central shopping district of the housing complex. She explains that because of the massive supermarkets, most of the small businesses have closed, including a dagashi shop[1] she used to play at with Reira and Mito.
  76. The air in the area feels stagnant, and maybe that's why this place... again...
  77. She notices someone else is in the area. It's a man. She wonders if he's the suspicious person that everyone's been talking about. He resembles the person in the poster.
  78. She wonders if he's a resident or an outsider. He's muttering something, but she can't hear from where she's at.

  82. Mito 4
  83. ~~~~~~~~
  84. Mito's mom welcomes her home. She offers Mito some dorayaki she just bought. Her mother asks how school is lately. Mito tells her that she's having fun, but her mother wonders if she's troubled or concerned about something. She tells her not to rely on just Reira and Seika but her as well.
  85.
  86. Mito explains that when she was in elementary school, the teacher told her mom that she's not getting along with the class. Ever since then, it seems like her mom has worried about it, so Mito thinks it'd really make her worry if she told her what happened at school today.
  87. Before her mom can ask again, Mito tells her that she's going to go do a bit of shopping. A new notebook. For school! Her mom offers to go with her, but Mito quickly leaves.
  88.
  89.
  90. Outside, Mito sighs and decides to buy another notebook--though she doesn't need it. Suddenly, she spots Reira, who's on her way to pick up her book and to buy some curry roux. Mito cheerfully volunteers to tag along, both to the bookstore and to the supermarket.

  95. [Going back to these choices:
  96.
  97. A) Work on homework
  98. B) Go to the bookstore
  99.
  100. Time for B.]
  101.
  102. Reira can't wait to pick up the book, since she was looking forward to it so much. She decides to go pick it up.
  103.
  104. ~~~~~~~~
  105. Reira 6
  106. ~~~~~~~~
  107. Reira tells her mom that she'll head out to the bookstore. Her mom tells her to pick up some curry roux since she forgot to buy it. Reira wonders how she could forget one of the main ingredients for curry but agrees to do so. As she leaves, her mom tells her to be careful.
  108.
  109. She thinks to herself how even her mom is worried about the suspicious person. Just then, Mito interrupts (see Mito 4).
  110.
  111. ~~~~~~~~
  112. Mito 5
  113. ~~~~~~~~
  114. Mito told Reira why she told her mom she needs to buy a notebook. Reira comments on how Mito's always cared for her mom like that. For example, when they were little, when she climbed a tree, she slipped and fell, breaking her left collarbone in the process. Mito kept quiet and acted like it was fine so her mom wouldn't worry, but in the end she couldn't bear the pain and ended up in the ambulance.
  115. Mito admits that's true, but her mom has a tendency to worry so she ends up doing these things out of habit to keep her from worrying.
  116. Reira tells her that she thinks Mito should let her mom know what happened anyway.
  117. Mito quickly changes the subject, saying that they should all climb a tree next time. Reira insists she can't anymore and she's pretty sure Seika can't either. Then again, Seika wasn't very good at it when they were younger either. Mito remembers that the first time they met Seika was under a tree.
  118.
  119. There's a flashback to when they first Seika. Mito and Reira were climbing a tree and happened to notice Seika sitting alone in the park. They don't recognize her, but quickly figure out that she must be the kid who just moved in.
  120.
  121. The flashback ends. Mito comments how Reira was the one who suggested that they talk to her. Silently, Reira thinks to herself that she suggested that because Seika looked really lonely.
  122. But ever since then, they've played together. Speaking of playing together, Mito suggests that they play kenkenpa--a game where they go for a lap around the entire housing complex. Mito says that's a game even Seika can play and that they can at least play until they reach the bookstore.
  123. That's still too far for Reira. Mito asks why Reira's going to the bookstore and she replies that she's going to pick up a dessert cookbook. Mito's excited and tells Reira to let her try some once she's done. Reira naturally responds with a cheerful "of course!".
