Overview
The Director of Corporate Systems is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, management, support and maintenance of Corporate Systems for Kirkland's Inc. The Director is accountable for ensuring these applications deliver business value and align with overall corporate strategy and objectives. The Director will maintain relationships and work primarily in conjunction with Finance, HR, Real Estate, and Legal business leaders. In addition this position will oversee enterprise reporting and the company’s business intelligence platforms.

Responsibilities
Deliver Business Value

Develops and maintains relationships with key business leaders
Develops and maintains IT roadmaps in conjunctions with key business leaders
Facilitates the gathering of operational and strategic systems requirements
Ensures benefit delivery of the assigned portfolio of systems


Financial Management

Prepares and manages capital, expense, and project budgets
Participates in and delivers cost/benefit analysis as required
Approves invoices and contracts within designated financial authorities


Risk and Security Management

Insures compliance with existing financial, security, and IT policies and procedures
Recognizes and leads policy change efforts where existing policies or procedures hamper the efficient and effective delivery of business value
Ensures the integrity of systems data within a portfolio of applications and services


Enterprise IT Strategy and Architecture

Will participate in and may lead elements of IT Strategy and Technical Architecture


Resource Management

Establishes and manages measurable goals and performs continual measurement, coaching and counseling to team members
Manages resources as required to support both strategic and business unit plans.
Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation or education.
Trains, supervises, assigns projects to, apprises and is responsible for hiring of staff to maintain optimum performance of job duties
Maintains current technical expertise in the rapidly changing technology assigned applications.


Project Delivery

Oversees the design, modification, configuration and implementation of critical enterprise applications
Plans and coordinates the evaluation, selection, and implementation of software according to department standards and procedures


Application Operations

Establishes and measures application performance service levels
Manages the restoration of service and data in the event of systems/application failures.
Tracks and initiates resolutions to user problems and concerns
Communicates critical issues that may affect clients and completes status and statistical reports in assigned area as required.
Qualifications
College degree or graduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field required; or corresponding experience in Information Services, MBA a plus
8+ years of management experience including budgets and staff leadership
Experience in planning, controlling, and delivering projects
Must be able to understand, and clearly relate to other members of the organization, technical manuals, software specifications, hardware principals of operations
Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
