Electric

Our lips lock, and at once I feel that spark between us, the powerful love we share. Like electricity.

We part, and smile at each other, his blue eyes sparkling in the moonlight.

"I love you, Keitaro."

"I love you too, Hunter."

The stars seem to beam down upon us as we embrace each other. We're standing in the same field we started, where we confessed to each other, and where our love was realised. The night is crisp and clear, and the moon is full and bright. My heart thumps in my chest as I remember what I'm here to do.

"Hunter, it's 3 years since we confessed to each other, right here in this spot. It's not always been easy for us, but we've managed this long together, because I believe our love is pure. And now you're done with school, and we have our house together, thanks to your parents. I can't promise it will always be easy, but I can promise that no matter what, I will stay by your side. I love you Hunter, so much." My heart beats faster now, and the sweet smile he wears on his face only makes it flutter more.

"And that's why I brought you out here today, to where we began. I love you, and I want to prove it to you." Shaking, I drop to one knee, and pull the box out from my pocket. "Hunter Springfield, will you do me the honour of marrying me?" I open the box, revealing the ring I had made for him - silver, with a small yellow gem.

His eyes widen, and he's speechless for what feels like forever. Finally, he speaks.

"Keitaro, when I met you I was quiet, shy. I never thought I'd make friends, let alone have a boyfriend. And then you came along, and it all changed. You've supported and defended me through the toughest times. You've comforted me when I'm down, made me feel so special, and made me the happiest person alive. Keitaro Nagame, nothing would make me happier than marrying you."

Grinning widely at his answer, I slip the ring onto his finger - a perfect fit. I stand up, and wrap him in my arms, kissing him again, softly, releasing all our love and emotions to him. He does the same, and we stand there, lips locked in a loving dance, before slowly pulling away.

"I love you." We speak at the same time. Neither of us want this moment to end.

"I have one last surprise for you." I point towards the camp, a place which has become a sort of second home to us. I offer him my hand, and he gladly accepts.

I lead him back to camp, which seems deserted. I take him to the mess hall, where we've eaten countless meals together. The lights are off when we enter, but they soon turn on, and all of our friends jump out at us. It took some planning, but I'm so happy we managed to pull it off. Everyone is there - Hiro, Natsumi, Yoichi, Taiga, Eduard and Lee, Seto, Felix, Yoshi, Yuri, Goro, Aiden, and all of the other campers we've met through the years. They've all come to celebrate with us, and I couldn't be happier to spend this time with my friends, and my beloved Hunter. The two of us beam at each other, and join our friends, eager to celebrate our love.

We're immediately jumped by Hiro, Natsumi and Yoichi, who are shouting over each other trying to congratulate us.

"KEITAROOOOOO I-"
"We told you it'd be okay Keitaro! Bec-"
"Hah, Frogboy and Twinkerbell are finally engaged. Only took the-"
"SO HAPPY FOR Y-"
"And of course it took a lot of hard wor-"
"Like seriously it was ball-busting waiting for you to just conf-"

We laugh at them, and they stop.

"Thank you, all of you. None of this could have happened without you." I say, grinning, and Hunter nods. They smile back, and tackle us in a tight group hug. We stay there for a while, enjoying being surrounded by our closest friends, before we break apart and go to talk to the others.

Taiga, Eduard and Lee are together, talking when we approach. They're all really supportive, with Eduard describing the ring as "fabulousness to the max" and Lee predicting our chance of happiness as "99.99% certain", which I guess is the best you can get from him.

We start walking towards Seto and Felix, who are talking together in a corner, but we're suddenly dragged to the side by Yuri, who looks like she's about to explode.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW HOW LONG I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SKSKSKSKSKSKSKSKSKSKSK AND JUST AAAAA OHMYGOD AHHHHHHHHHHHH-" she was cut short by fainting. Scoutmaster Yoshi rushed up to help her, giving us a warm smile, a handshake and a quick "Congratulations!" as he passed us.

Finally we manage to catch up with Seto and Felix, but we've only said a little bit to each other before we hear a glass ring towards the head of the room. The mess hall goes quiet, and we all look towards the sound, where we see Goro standing behind the serving counter looking serious, holding a glass.

"Ahem, thank you everyone. Now, we are all gathered here to celebrate Mr Nagame and Mr Springfield, so I shall keep this brief. When I first met Mr Nagame, I believed him to be a vaguely irritating and over-optimistic person. What I discovered instead was, to be quite frank, a model camper, and one of the best and brightest young men I have ever had the pleasure to meet. And as for Mr Springfield, I could see his affection for Mr Nagame the minute he marched into my office to defend his then-friend. We have all had the great joy of watching both them and their relationship grow and mature into these wonderful young men we see in front of us today. I hope you will all join me in wishing them a great many years of happiness together." As he finished, he began to clap, and everyone joined in, with Hiro, Seto and Taiga whooping and cheering as well. I look at my fiance, staring deep into his perfect blue eyes; he stares back, and we kiss once more, and the cheers around us grow louder, accompanied by another fainting fit by Yuri.

And in that moment there's only us.

Us and that feeling we share.

The soaring feeling I get whenever I think of him. Whenever I even hear his name.

That electric feeling.

That feeling of our love.
