  1. 1 - Dudes and Bros will be cool to each other.
  2. This means no abusive language, personal insults, bigoted comments, or any variety of outright abuse, even against a dufus or weiner! If you feel that you are the victim of abuse on this forum, please contact a forum admin instead of retaliating in form.
  3. 2 - Don't use this forum to advertise yourself.
  4. This means that, while we love your stuff, we would appreciate it if you don't advertise your awesomeness here inappropriately. If it's directly related to TJ&E goodness, such as fan art, then go ahead and post it in the appropriate section, such as "Fan Art" subforum. If it's not directly related to TJ&E, or if you're asking for money, we ask that you message a forum admin first.
  5. 3 - Everyone is sexy, don't show it off.
  6. This means no inappropriate photos, pictures, drawings, phrases, or any of that jazz in signatures, avatars, icons, or whatnot. Keep that stuff PG/E10+/PEGI7 please. Thank ye kindly!
  7. 4 - Keep it cool, bro.
  8. Enthusiasm is great, obsenity is not. Rude obscenity is not acceptable. Playful/joking/excited obscenity shall be restrained, but the occasional literal "holy bleep" is certainly acceptable.
  9. 5 - We really wanna get to know the fans... but not like that.
  10. It's okay to post your personal contact information... on the shipping information form... NOT on the public forums. This includes addresses, phone numbers, and the like. We'd also prefer you not to write emails in long form and instead use something akin to "toejame at earl dot edu." One of the main reasons is because bots can gather information surprisingly effective and that's bad for dozens of reasons. If you want to share personal info with your future spouse via PM, that's great! We just ask that you invite us to the wedding so that we can regift this Pyrex Easy Grab Bake 'N Store 8-Piece Set, thank you very much!
  11. 6 - Trolls, Flamers, and Spam are as bad as Earthlings!!!
  12. Don't be the worst of all Earthlings!!! Civet isn't the only one who realized how obviously horrible these Earthlings would be to have in the game! http://www.hyperfunk.club/index.php?topic=54.msg236#msg236 Same goes for flame-wars. If you're asked to stop an endless conversation that has clearly run its course, please do so. And, y'know, spam sucks too.
  13. 7 - No discounts for any number of fingers or toes.
  14. This means don't steal, don't encourage stealing, and don't assist in stealing. And by stealing we include software theft, because of obvious reasons. Dangit that means NO WAREZ!
  15. 8 - ALL CAPS IS BAD-N-STUFF!
  16. BECAUSE DUH. THIS IS ANNOYING. ONE OR TWO WORDS FOR EMPHASIS IS FINE BUT SERIOUSLY, DON'T DO THIS.
  17.
  18. Generally speaking, if you're in violation of the rules in any way, you'll get a public reminder first, then a public warning. Then we'll PM you about it to initiate a conversation to attempt to fix the problem, whatever said problem might be. Then, if that doesn't work, futher action may be required. We do, of course, reserve the right to alter this as we see fit.
  19.
  20. Basic Forum Etiquette:
  21. 1)Try to stay on topic. Topics naturally deviate and branch off, but please refrain from intentionally hijacking a topic. If someone posts about Peabo's awesome dance moves and you reply with examples of your Peabo/Lamont slash fic then that's one thing. But if the OP and the other people discussing Peabo try to steer the thread back to Peabo's awesome dance moves, please allow them to do so and please start a new thread about Peabo and Lamont's special, special relationship.
  22. 2)Try to keep one forum post per topic. If you login and see four threads asking why the innertube does or doesn't work in a Cheese Swamp, there's no need to start a fifth thread about that same topic. The Search feature isn't perfect, but it definitely exists.
  23. 3)Toejam, Earl, and their buddies are the only ones who should ever come back to life. Forum threads are not on that list. An example of thread necromancy is saying "That's funny!" in a post that hasn't been active in four months. An example of perfectly acceptable thread usage would be posting a new piece of art in your "My name is yonderfan and I make art of yonder hanging out w/ Earl" even though it's been eight months since you've posted in that thread. Since you're actively adding to the content of the thread it doesn't matter.
  24. 4)Don't post numerous animated gifs in one page. Having a few animated gifs are fine, I suppose, even though they're clearly the bane of the internet. Having numerous gifs have to load for a single page is a massively annoying burden for a browser to have to load and it's incredibly presumptuous that everyone invovled has broadband. If you want to start an animated gif thread that's fine, but please title it appropriately ("yonderfan's super-cool thread of animated pics of yonder and Earl in the hottub") would clearly be amazing. Even in such situations, please try to keep the number of animated gifs to under one dozen per page load (keep in mind that 15 posts load per page).
  25. We realize that some etiquette rules seem to overlap and contradict at times. That's fine. All we ask is that you try.
