speedrun plans

i really wanna try to grow more on the stream and just do it in general. i really love doing it and would love to see how far i could take it while focusing on speedrunning. i unfortunately will not be able to focus on it as much as i'd love to with a consistent schedule and all until I move back home, but until then i'm going to stream whenever i can! i really love you guys and the support with my recent hl return has been wonderful. <3

i'm gonna try to organize an ideal timeline for me in speedrunning, including games i'm excited to grind and runs i want to learn in the future:

current aspirations: half-life
	-this is my favorite speedrun and I really want to improve my time and be in the top elite of runners. i'm hoping to get 28 before 2020. if not i will probably take a break after agdq to learn new things! on the fence on if i'll submit to SGDQ, i'll see if anyone else has plans to go to future GDQs because i'd love for the rest of the community to have opportunities to run. also going to submit this to calithon and definitely go this time around! i'd love to support the smaller marathons with a sick run of Half-Life! next summer when I move back home I plan on taking a semester off school, and I may consider going for a 27 grind during that semester off! I'd only be working at Starbucks and programming at the time, so I'd have loads of time to stream runs and practice, but we'll see!

next major plans: half-life 2 no voidclip, quake 100% learning
	-during AGDQ, I plan on dedicating some more time to learning quake 100% routes. my goal will be to grind this game and get good enough to submit it to SGDQ 2020. it hasn't been shown off yet and I wanna try my hand at a properly good Quake showcase! Wasn't happy with my SGDQ 2019 performance and wanna show people that I can be sick at Quake. Would also love to submit an incentive to have one episode of Nightmare100% showcased!

	-for half-life 2, I'm going to submit it to SGDQ most likely. i want to see if i can follow up waezone's perfomance and showcase the new strats and routes that make the current record multiple minutes faster. i also want to, at worst, get a 54 in no voidclip, and somewhere around a mid 30 for fun%. may do this soon after AGDQ! I definitely want to try to submit this to calithon as a new engine vs old engine race at calithon with connor. think it'd be very fun!

tentative plans, maybe far in the future or not at all (organized in terms of most->least likely): super metroid, portal any% no SLA, DOOM Eternal, ratchet and clank NG+, portal inbounds

	-Super Metroid is one of my favorite games since I played it in July (Thanks, Katie!). I love the speedrun, the history of it, the community, and the love and dedication the runners have. I think its unbelievably sick and I really want to learn it. My main interests at the moment are in any% (I would run KPDR[which is Kreed, Phantoon, Dragoon, Ridley boss order) and North Korea% (meme category, DPRK route). I can't do this until I can afford an OSSC Upscaler, cables that work with it, and other small purchases, so this may not be until around a year from now when I can move back home. Obviously no GDQ aspirations for this for quite a while.

	-portal any% no SLA is a really neat category that I think people should give more attention. It's basically OoB in Portal without saveglitching, which involves a lot of Quantum Crouching and seamshots to get oob to beat maps fast. These techniques are infrequently seen in modern runs, so I think it's a really neat category that has good GDQ potential. Would love to see if I could take WR/sub 9 in this category, and maybe submit it to a future GDQ. this could happen sooner than later, so I may submit it to SGDQ 2019.

	-DOOM Eternal is a game I'm still unsure about. Definitely gonna try learning some tech and see if I enjoy the run. If I do, I may look into seriously running it. I won't submit to SGDQ 2019, which I don't believe will be very possible anyway, as I imagine better runners would be submitting over me, but who knows! I may not run this at all, but not sure.

	-ratchet and clank NG+ is something i've been wanting to learn for a while, but kinda brushed it aside for other games. still thinking about running this and making it my foray into console speedruns, but very unsure at the moment. its hard on my hands so it may not be a great idea for me. no plans for GDQ

	-portal inbounds is kinda neat again with the new timesaves. I don't see myself going back to this for a while (if ever), but if I do I'm definitely gonna consider doing a WR grind with the new strats. Potentially even try to go for the legendary sub 10 that is now feasible. A few more strats would make it very enticing to try to grind for a sub 10!
