  3. Somehow I knew that my performance in the first ever LPS monthly tournament would suffer while trying to run it at the same time, but I did a little more than usual this time around to make the show possible, which was the primary goal. The thing I added to my plate that I grossly underestimated the impact of was the small role of statistician I added to update the major tournament standings in real time. I added ten tiebreakers to the points standings to finely delineate each player's performance. I have a spreadsheet of a backend that tabulates the points standings & tiebreaker with tabs compiling each tiebreaker and a tab for each tournament to put results into, totaling 18 tabs. I have a separate spreadsheet to make the results look pretty, too. I lost track of how many hours I spent last weekend to make all of it possible. (I had to skip implementing the head to head records, but I have plenty of time to fix that.) The problem I ran into was that the spreadsheet I enter results into to show on stream during each match was not integrated with the backend so I essentially had to enter the results twice. Verification of those results added to the setup time between matches in ways that I ended up uncomfortable with. I have plenty of time to figure out how to make this process easier to streamline going forward.

  5. All in all, that was a great first tournament. I can't wait to do it all again next month, dood.

  8. Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals:
  9.
  10. Goal #1: edit the Lakitu Open VODs. With no time to immediately pressing matters, I can more finely cut the dead air to make each match a better VOD watching experience.
  11. Goal #4: compute everyone's precise tournament winnings and process payouts.
  12. Goal #5a: clean up my hard drive. It is almost full from tournament footage. I MUST clean it all up before I can move forward with any other video making.
  13. Goal #5b: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for the Pokemon Puzzle League tournaments.
  14. Goal #6: script and record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. I have some scripts left to touch up before feeling comfortable with moving on to recording gameplay. Then I will need to record my talking points and edit it all together. Getting back to this will be easier once the workflow for the monthly tournaments is finalized.
  15. Goal #7a: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process. Next objective is to make transitions and alerts.
  16. Goal #7b: catch up on video archives that I have yet to upload since I restarted streaming.
  17. Goal #8: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts.

  19. This week's schedule:
  20. Friday @ 9pm-1am EST – Friday Night Salt Mines – Grinding Into a Nice Long Break Edition, Doods!
  21.
  22.
  23. That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, be decent to each other. Later, doods!
