The man looks up to Reverb "I know his eyes, they show on his men. All of them. But they are the same pair" <TreeDm>: "They would know. But they would take you. You are infected"
<TreeDm>: "Then you'll be gone. Like the rest. Except me"
<Reverb>: Except you?
<TreeDm>: "I got out..."
<Reverb>: How.
<TreeDm>: "They cannot keep us all. I slipped through the cracks, the rest are gone"
<TreeDm>: "But there is nothing for miles, I cannot run. They'll catch me out there. Its safer here. I can hide with the people"
<Jet_Isaacs>: Jet winces "And by gone ya mean..."
<TreeDm>: "No longer an eyesore to him"
<Jet_Isaacs>: "Thought as much." he says quietly.
<Reverb>: Reverb looks blankly at the man. "No, how did you get out."
<TreeDm>: "The sewers. There was a riot trying to get out through them. I ran the fastest"
<TreeDm>: "The others are gone"
<TreeDm>: the man says this with a continual maddened fear
<Reverb>: ...show us.
<Jet_Isaacs>: Jet pats him on the shoulder "Uh, ya sure that's a good idea? He's already pretty shaken up..."
<TreeDm>: "Why do you want to see? They would take us if we go there? Are you trying to take me back?! Oh god its another trap I shouldn't have talked to you" he panics a bit
<Reverb>: I am this close to slapping you, idiot.
<Reverb>: Show us, now.
<Jet_Isaacs>: "Nonono!" Jet says, speaking up. He looks at Reverb "Hey hey, lemme try!" he says.
<TreeDm>: the homeless man has lost the will to live and has accepted they are about to kill him, he is very fearful
<Reverb>: ...fine
<Jet_Isaacs>: He looks back at the man "It's like we said, we're looking for someone. At the least, we just need to know where that sewer is so that we can get in. You don't need to bring us there."
<Jet_Isaacs>: He gives Reverb a worried expression "That's all we need; where it is." he says.
<TreeDm>: "In the river, the sewer drained into the river, by the bridge"
<TreeDm>: "I had to swim out"
<Jet_Isaacs>: Jet nods, with a big smile, and gently pats him on the shoulder "There we go! That's all we needed, right?" he asks Reverb.
<Reverb>: "Yeah, that'll do." she says. She takes one last look at the man, and says "If you're wrong, I /will/ find you."
<TreeDm>: the man shivers
<Jet_Isaacs>: Jet frowns at Reverb before looking back at the man "Alright then, we'll leave you to your buisness then!" he says with a smile "Thanks a bunch!" he adds with a nod of his head.
<TreeDm>: "Please... just leave me be" he practically begs
<Jet_Isaacs>: Jet gives a sad smile before starting to walk away "Alright Frankie, we should find that sewer fast."
<Reverb>: Fast is more your deal. Remember where it was?
<Jet_Isaacs>: "Yeah, back at the bridge, in the water." he says.
<TreeDm>: as the two walk away, they notice one of the officers from earlier on the roof above them. the officer doesn't notice them, then quickly hops across to the building the hobo was leaning against and jumps down onto the alleyway you were just in
<TreeDm>: there is a crash, then silence
<Jet_Isaacs>: Jet whips around to the crash to see the officer "...Shoot!" he hisses.
<Reverb>: Flank him, quickly!
<Jet_Isaacs>: Jet hesitates, but ultimately rushes forward at high speed, slamming into the officer with a full body tackle.
<TreeDm>: by the time they make it back to the alley, the officer has already long gone and the homeless man is dead.
<TreeDm>: On the homeless man's body is a paper slip, indecipherable runes along it.
