  27. introducing Japan to the world at a key point in its history, when it hosted
  28. the 1972 Winter Olympics. This event helped solidify an already strong
  29. association with winter, and Sapporo's famous Snow Festival, celebrated
  30. every February in Odori Park, invites winter into the city itself, which
  31. transforms its parks and streets into a frosty world of ice palaces and
  32. sculpture.

  35. tourism industry, and visitors can avail themselves of numerous fine hotels,

  38. whose breweries are located in the area. One such brewery has been turned
  39. into a shopping mall, and others can be visited for tours. When the trip is
  40. over and it's time to return to warmer climes, many visitors bring back a

It sags over the edge of the frozen lake. Not a nail joins its joists, not a screw pierces its pillars. It was built at the very end of the nineteenth century by the first generation of Japanese men to wear suit and collar. It smells of tatami and smoke. The floor cushions are vivid red in the dim lighting, like petals fallen. The sections of the grand old house are linked by creaking, close-fitted open-air platforms, with rooves teethed with icicles.

  90. The path here cuts through the mountains, and so too does the limousine bearing today's important clients. Tsuru stands at the bottom step of the inn's porch. As usual she cuts a monochrome figure, her black kimono and white obi no darker and lighter than her hair and skin respectively. Two notes of red draw the eye; her lacquered comb and the triangular gash of lipstick bisecting her pale bottom lip. Tall and slim, long of neck and large of eye, Tsuru is all the more ethereal a figure as one draws close and the quality of her kimono becomes clear. A subtle white chrysanthemum pattern is embroidered into the lusciously glistening cloth. The round blooms are denser where Tsuru's form is slimmer, accentuating her femininity where the kimono fails to. Her hair is wound in a complex braided pattern and fastened with the comb, but much of it is left free to slide down her back, a smooth liquid flow of ink that sinks slightly towards the nape of her neck.

  163. The limousine pulls up not far from this bottom step, all the better to ensure that its occupants need not walk far in the snow and ice. A certain amount of luxury falls off of it, in that way. More falls out from the driver moving to the door closest to Tsuru and her handmaidens, in a crisp suit and stoic expression. He pulls open the door.

  165. As he offers his hand, a more feminine one meets it, and a young woman steps out of the limousine. Her feet settle on the icy ground as she dusts her sleeves. Her attire is formal, traditional, and a shining lavender. Her kimono is patterened for the season, a feminine style that suits the posture that marks her hands folding into her sleeves, and her red obi. It's obviously a very fine garment, lined for the winter.

  222. Commands To Find Players (and show yourself to them)

  224. WHO - The most raw, basic output of who's online, how long they've been on,
  225. how long they've been idle, and a 'doing' (set with @doing me=Whatever) that
  226. is usually used to store silly, short notes.

  228. +who - A much fancier way to show the same information, including peoples'
  229. aliases. A red asterik indicates someone is in-character, and there's a
  230. total listing of how many folks are IC or OOC (or idle) at the bottom.

  232. +where - Only shows the location of in-character people, but if they are
  233. online but not on +where, they're probably in the OOC Lounge. Names are
  234. color-coded to Organization for your convenience!

  236. look or l - Shows the room you're in. This typically has a structure in
  237. which the top line shows the greater zone the room is in; the second line
  238. shows the name of the room. Then comes the description. Any players in the
  239. room are listed under 'players', with their name, (Organization|Grade in
  240. School), and <Current Henshin Form>. Beneath that are any exits, such as Out
  241. <O>; you could type 'out' or 'o' to use that exit to move to another room.

This one is heavily silked at the cuffs, neck, and ankles, with gold buttons down the suit jacket that's just long enough to give a good flap in the air. Less a jacket, and more a very well integrated coat.

But it's hard to tell given the look on her face, adorned with the careful artistry of Tsuru. There's a lot to draw unto her eyes, but only if one has their attention upon her- upon the mystique of her lashes and the unmarred lips of so many shades.

Her arms are folded and her hair has been bound up, held back with sticks and combs. Her own makeup is minimal... or is it? It's certainly not a geisha look, and the natural dark rings beneath her eyes are lined, not concealed. Between this and a light red lip gloss...

Where a European princess would have been taught to float up the stairs, the best daughters of Nihon instead emphasize their motions, making them deliberate and careful. Each step is taken with a soft bob, constant stability and mindfulness in each motion.

  420. The inside of the inn is warm, with thin silk tapestries and paper screens decorating it. The exchange of shoes happens early at the door, with slippers or sandals prepared for the guests. Tsuru simply abandons her sandals and continues on in her white tabi socks alone.

This ryokan has been rented out in its entirety, and once the staff had prepared everything for the honored guests, they had simply departed for the evening. The low, traditional table with zabuton cushions for seating is empty, save for wobble-rimmed clay teacups.

  424. "If you would guide Fujino-san to the head of the table," Tsuru requests of Nori. She herself turns to Takara.

  426. "I would be particularly honored if we were able to win your approval of one of our lines," she says. "Whether it is Kozue's Aohime, or Nori's Akai Mirai. Whether you are unfamiliar with the lines, or simply have not found them to your taste thus far, I hope we can change that tonight."

  428. Tsuru proceeds to the opposite end of the room as Shizuru, lifting a tray of tea ceremony implements and proceeding with ceremonial slowness to the other end of the table. Resting the tray on the floor, she kneels next to it, preparing her tools one by one with ornate, deliberate motions.

Lips closing in upon her ear, close enough to feel her breath- as she whispers inaudibly to everyone else, "You're being too stiff and formal. It's showing. Relax."

  490. Everyone might mistake the moment for an older sister saying something to the younger, even if in reality such roles would be reversed. And just a moment later, she parts, off to the side, playing at the edge of her scarf as she moves unto Kasagami's side. A role she naturally assigns herself to. She doesn't ask for permission as her arm slides around Kasagami's. Draping herself just onto it. "I remember you- King Araki." She offers with only light playfulness, but if it's mocking, she gives no sign, "Tsuru-san will serve you tea as if you were the Emperor himself while we conduct business."

  492. There's something of a twinkle in her eyes, "But there's always after to consider. Such entertainment has always been the province of royalty- am I right?"

  513. She looks particularly interested--that is, lifting an eyebrow and watching or a moment with her other eye still on Tsuru--when Nori blushes. ...And shen she looks paned.

  517. But there is Tsuru again; she notes the deferential response on Tsuru's part, makes no move to attempt to correct it or maneuver from it. Instead she dips her head again in acknowledgement. "How kind of you. I only seek to speak truthfully in this matter."

  519. Tsuru lifts her chin, and Shizuru watches for a moment. "We are warmed by your thoughtful welcome as much as by any walls." With that, she follows, knowing the deliberate dance of careful steps she was born to like second nature. She doesn't have to even think about it to maintain it while she walks and listens. Listen she does, silnt at first and thoughtful as she exchanges her shoes. Obviously she considers it with weight, with gravity.

  521. Once there she looks with some approval at the obvious preparations for the tea ceremony. But there is her escort being mentioned, and Shizuru waits gamely for Nori to reach her before taking so much as a single step. That brief, direct look prompts Shizuru to keep looking at her for a moment longer... until 'Fujino-sama', at which point Shizuru simply walks along forward. She allows herself to be seated a moment later, and lets that be her acknowledgement. Only once at the table, settled in, does she look to Tsuru again.

  523. Shizuru watches her thoughtfully, through each practiced motion. She closes her eyes for a brief moment and... soaks up the atmosphere. It is somehing to be taken seriously, and she does, in ways she does little else.

Like a good Ohtorite, her ears all but perk for the tantalizing gossip just out of reach.

  533. Her hand favors Nori, pointing palm up towards the model. "Have you /seen/ how she wears that line? Anyone with even the most mild appreciation of fashion would be /captivated/! And spend a few minutes talking with Nori-chan here? Careful, or your heart will shatter into tiny pieces, isn't that right?" Nori gets an outright, friendly little smile. It's open and honest, her guard down for /just/ a moment.

  535. Some of it does fade to see that pained look, though. Kasagami isn't entirely blind. She barely manages to hide her growing worry over the young woman. She returns the bow to the trio.

  539. And indeed, the horrible Duelist gets her eye drawn to Kozue with a light whistle. "Now is that a challenge? I love challenges. Do. Your. Worst." A chuckle.

  543. Suddenly, distraction. Kozue is at her side, taking her arm, and there's a blink. Even her cheeks are going just a little red at such, and her attention is suddenly glued to Kozue. She happily walks forward, taking her time, her formal gait slackening just a bit into imperial confidence. A king walking her castle's walls, or more appropriately, towards the dining hall even as she keeps close against Kozue. The attention she soaks in like a sponge, drinking it like wine. Truly, she seems more than happy to be here at this moment. She'd even straighten Kozue's scarf with a little smile.

  545. "Ahhh, am I so worthy of such an honor of the company of one such as yourself, and Tsuru-san? Truly, I'm blessed to be with such lovely nobles this day! It's less an outright seiza, still polite, but with just a hint of western /lounging/ that she's adopted in such situations. She tries to stand out, look kingly, but not /too/ distracting. A tough balance.

  547. And then, she's watching and listening. Shizuru gets a watchful eye, and not /just/ for the need to keep tabs on a woman so dangerous. She enjoys the atmosphere, Kozue's presence beside her, but she never loses track of what they're all here for. There's a slight hint of anticipation about her. Looping the ribbon under her arm, she bites it between white teeth and pale lips, tying the sleeve back and then shifting to the other side. When both sleeves are tied 'tasuki', she retrieves a teacup with her now-bare arm. It is more like a bowl, low and wide.

  571. With a thin bamboo stick Tsuru taps bright green powder into this bowl. With a lilt of her elbow, hot water drowns it, turning a deep dark green as it burbles up. With a soft-bristled whisk she froths the tea. Through the common room an ancient scent rises, faintly sweet, bittergreen.

  573. Even standing up is a ritual in tea ceremony, requiring a shift and tuck of the lower hem of Tsuru's kimono. Rising with the bowl, Tsuru moves unobtrusively to Nori's side and hands it off to her. She is, of course, to give it to the guest of honor. This entire process repeats to create an equally fragrant cup to be given to Kozue. The final bowl is tapped, poured, and whisked for Takara, and Tsuru delivers it herself, kneeling at Takara's side.

  575. "Have you taken tea ceremony before? This is koicha... it will taste a bit strong." Indeed, the tea is thick, dense with ceremonial-grade matcha, and it will leave residue on the bowl when it is drunk.

  577. After cleaning her implements and replacing them, Tsuru takes up the cast-iron kettle and brings it with her to the table, resting it in the center as she seats herself next to Takara. Nori and Shizuru are at the head of the table, with Kasagami and Kozue across from Takara and Tsuru.

They look thoughtfully at the tea but do not take any, yet. Their jaw is set firmly, doing their best to mask any tension. They glance at their hosts appraisingly, raising a single eyebrow at Kasagami and Kozue before turning to respond to Tsuru.

  658. There's another wink as Kasagami adjusts her scarf. Perhaps this is the answer to her challenge on 'her worst'. The confident strut of Kasagami is offered only by her matching her gait. And once she's kneeled, she states, "My- if that's your goal, then I doubt you'll find Tsuru's tea to be wanting in all ways save one." Her lips are so close to Kasagami's ear as she leans over; the words perhaps sending a tingle down the other girl's spine, "It's slightly less- intoxicating. So I might have to offer you... more."

  660. She's not so tasteless as to pour while Tsuru is going through the ritual of the tea ceremony, in fact she's perhaps more formal than the other girl remembers for this at least. She allows her own fragrant cup to be given to her. She picks it up with her right hand, and places it upon her left. "I'll partake of your tea- Tsuru-san." Grasping the rim, she turns it and raises it to her lips.

  662. Indeed it's thick, and heady and as strong as she remembers, invoking past memories. "Even better than I remember." She adds complimentary, before setting it down.

  664. The room is empty of servants, and so she reaches to her left, shifting on her knees to pick up the ceramic tokkuri.

  666. She's hardly as formal as Tsuru is with tea but she does grasp the vessel and non-chalantly pouring it into Kasagami's cup using a single hand. "Would anyone else care for some sake?" She offers- and would continue to pour accordingly- though there are perhaps some small differences depending on who she pours for.

  668. It's only after everyone is served she produces the documents, which are handed out to each of their guests. Each has different plans of investment, from the conservative to the extravagant decadence members Ends of the World can expect to lavish upon their projects- the language within it is quite carefully worded. There's nothing hidden in the legalese to someone meticulously checking that might swindle any of them, but it also prevents them from being taken advantage of as well.

There's a motion as she adjusts something upon her hand, a sliding on something. Her hand comes to a rest on Kasagami's arm again at the end- adorning it, but adorning the fingers of that hand is a glint upon the familiar rose seal, "And I for one think it's truly wonderful."

This young woman is of high school age, if not almost a little older, of fair skin that's never seen a day of hard work in her life and long, light brown hair that tumbles past her shoulders, with a fringe of bangs falling just above the line of her red eyes. Her features are smooth, with a wide mouth, and she can express quite a bit just with her expression alone.

  711. Somewhere amidst her vague sea of gesticulations, her hand finds her pocket. There's a subtle shift. Is that...a quiet thumbs up to Nori? She can't be but so open in so much company, but it's a subtle sign of confidence in the other young woman.

  713. Besides, there's three highly distracting things tonight. First, Tsuru is making tea to the level that even one who shears more clearly to coffee finds interesting. She takes it, first out of politeness, and eventually to sample it. A blink. Strong, bitter, but not annoying like most of the teas she's been foisted on. A smile.

  715. "At this rate I might just be a convert. Simply wonderful." She airs out. Never forget the host, no matter how big your ego. Or at least that's what her mother drilled into Kassie.

  717. And yet, she nearly drops that wonderfully crafted cup as Kozue whispers. Her spine and then some shudders, and it's only through both many a date, and practically living around sharks that she keeps her composure. Still, her cheeks are more red than any drink.

It's clear to Nori that this at least is no put-upon, this something resembling sincerity just in the act of enjoying a scent. The bowl is handed to Nori, and Shizuru looks to the Red Future who holds up the tea; this Shizuru inhales as well, each step reverently, though she finds herself looking over the bowl at the way Nori looks at her in all of this. It could be disrespect... But maybe not. Looking into Nori's eyes as if searching for something there, Shizuru stops. The brown-haired young woman accepts the bowl in both hands and sips from it, closin her eyes. Her eyes remain closed as the other bowls are delivered.

  747. "Ah..." She keeps her tea for now "...My business keeps me here for some time yet," the Vice President says in her Kyoto-accented words.

  751. She enjoys that tea as Kozue gets the documents, and listens to her as she speaks when she returns. Shizuru glances down but only glances, at first. Her red eyes shift back upward to Kozue's face. She is silent, through what she has to say. Right until... True beauty. Sublime.

  753. She dips her head to Kozue, allows the rose crest on her hand to glint in the light. She did not request sake; she instead inhales again the aroma of tea.

Lifting it, she tilts it over Kozue's emptied cup, the steaming water rushing softly, steam rising. The residue is thick enough to brew a second, thinner batch, with a more refreshing and less mystically layered flavor. There is no reproach in her motions, though what she's said refutes Kozue a little as well. If anything, it feels like a gentle hand on the shoulder. Then her attention returns to Shizuru.

  820. Her eyes are a dark blue, dark enough that they don't parse as blue at a first glance. The look she gives Shizuru in reply is lingering and knowing, with a reserve behind it. "Every dawn brings us closer," she murmurs to Shizuru, regarding the Red Future.

  822. Tsuru speaks eloquently to Maki about the dream that is fashion, and Nori looks towards her for a moment. This would of course let Shizuru examine her profile quite clearly, especially as Nori shifts, returning to a posture that is more appropriately demure. Her eyes turn towards Shizuru, without her face moving, when those words are spoken by Tsuru, and she smiles again as well.

  824. When Shizuru's tea bowl is set down - refilled with that second brewing from Tsuru's kettle - Nori's hand slides forwards and she murmurs, "Fujino-sama, please allow me..."

  826. And she raises it again in that one-handed way, her thumb running along the outside of the rough ceramic of the bowl, away from the lip but perhaps near enough that lips had touched it. From here, her arm moves with a fluid ease, the fabric of her sleeve rustling as it slips oh so slightly down and she raises that cup to Shizuru's lips.

  828. Allow her to what, exactly? Either way, Nori's eyes stay on Shizuru, gauging her reaction and pouring her a sip of it with precision before drawing away, back down onto the table, /without spilling a drop/.

  846. "Sake, kindly," Takara says a little quickly. They leave it aside, for the moment, preferring instead the tea. It is deliciously, wonderfully warm and bitter, and they grin a toothy grin.

They give the documents only a cursory glance, full of false studiousness-- it would be better that a Treasurer was not known to be so disinterested in their sphere of influence, especially among their fellow Student Council members. They instead study the faces and the hands of the people around them, trying to find their bearings in an unfamiliar social environment.

  850. Takara does their best to conceal their surprise at seeing Kozue's ring, reaching again for the tea to hide their surprise. Behind their cup they smile, the picture beginning to come clear. "I have to admit, Kaoru-san, that I've never always considered clothing a bit restrictive."

  852. A beat. "The social boundaries surrounding it, of course, not the garments themselves," Takara says smoothly as their face flushes. They reach for the sake to justify the blush, the stinging liquid rushing down their throat and reddening their extremities.

  854. They nearly choke on the boldness of Kasagami's speech, but returns her toast. "To ambition and beauty."

  856. They nod at Shizuru's speech, taking her words as directives, while also studying her face, trying to follow her train of thought.

  858. For a moment, Takara lights up at Tsuru's speech, her talk of bringing out their inner beauty, and of rebellion, bringing a fire to their face and a light to their eyes. But by the end, they wear a mask of studious ambivalence as well. "How wonderful that would be," they say. "I certainly hope that those we represent can find accord with you on this, Tsuru-san."

  860. The mask shatters, with Takara's eyes fairly bugging out of their head, when they see Nori's completely shameless display. They clear their throat repeatedly and fail to make eye contact... until their eyes settle on Tsuru, with a look that could be fairly read as "is she going to seduce me?". Any meaningful commentary they could add is blown away by shock.

  877. The redness of Kasagami's cheeks seems to belie her words, and she might get a subtle play of a finger shamelessly touching upon one of them, "Can I satisfy you? What a question- I never mind if someone wants to be a little greedy." Then even lower in volume, a purr within her throat, "In fact I think it'd be rather rude if you weren't."

  879. Kozue didn't serve herself sake. So there's no cup to raise when Kasagami makes a toast. Instead her hand is on that arm. Perhaps that is what she offers unto the toast instead. She doesn't respond immediately to it, taking a few moments to draw that in, then her hand slides away, as she lifts the vessel for the tea once again and takes another sip.

  881. Once she lowers it, she's takes in all of Tsuru's response, even as she lifts the handle and refills her steaming water into a cup. Hanging onto every word- this was a critical moment and she understands it. No matter how much draw the others might have to what they have to offer, Tsuru's statement would be a hard sell to any of Ends of the World.

  883. However there's this momentary pang too when she remembers Tsuru's eyes upon her- searching for something more. And so she raises a hand, eyes momentarily on Tsuru, "Tsuru-san. I understand what you're saying- but we need not have harmony in some- purity of ideal to come to an accord. Beauty that refutes power is something that has to be known to be understood. Many perhaps dream of it- but cannot fathom how to come to know it without power. You may feel as if it is a magnetism of opposites, and the others feel that one attracts the other."

  885. There's a conscious shift, as she looks upon Shizuru, "What I would suggest is to allow what they find to speak for itself. That the story of what we have to offer may be more persuasive than any mere discussion of our ideal. Shizuru-chan- I for one believe I'd find you all the more ravishing in one of AkaMira's kimonos. Perhaps Tsuru-san might be persuaded to offer you a custom fitting- tonight, after we've concluded."

  887. Nori's eyes shoot to Kozue- watching her raise that cup. Some level of her proud that she's following the spirit of her instructions so well. The rest of her though- she notices that fractional raise of the eyebrows, a smile playing on her lips as she decides upon something, "And perhaps Nori-chan would enjoy showing you around the famous hot springs of this inn before you would retire. I think the two of you would find it an-" Her eyes seem to fill both with Shizuru and Nori in her vision, "-invigorating way to banish winter's chill."

  889. Her eyes drift over to Araki- "And I feel if Kasagami is being so lively, Shizuru-chan, then we ought to give her a way to channel that enthusiasm. She's welcome to join /me/ in the hot springs after-"

I'd be happy to give you a private show of my line- to see if I might persuade you of the merits of Aohime's story."

  917. And as ever, Shizuru, willing to deflate Kasagami's sails. Her squint is only mildly cutting, as she recognizes the woman has a point. Perhaps to her credit, this time she doesn't openly lash out at Shizuru.

  921. Instead, she's nothing but pleasantries. Her free hand finally rises, and she chuckles good naturedly. "Well, someone has to embody the passions that can be utilized in such an alliance, should it be earned, right? Just think of what could be done, together, with the right mixture of firebrands and cool heads!" It turns to a smile towards Tsuru, just a little playful, and there's a wink. A cheeky one, at that!

  923. "That /is/ the question though. How do our various interests, ambitions, fall into place? Surely we..." All of a sudden, she grows silent. Deathly silent. Tsuru touches on something so very vital to her heart. All at once, her entire body stiffens.

  925. Only by an utmost force of will does she relax. That fine sake is downed with abandon, and tea chasing it with only just enough delicacy to not be outright rude. Tsuru is suddenly watched like a hawk. Or perhaps more like a hungry wolf. She breaks it after a moment. Back to Shizuru. A sharp look, for just a second.

  927. The ball is in Shizuru's court. She sips more sake, and slowly calms. For all she might have her issues with the woman, she has trust in her abilities. So much as she inherently wants to convince with fire, Tsuru's cool demeaner requires less fiery ways.

  929. There's a small breath that breaks all that tension, though. If anything, Kozue pulls Kasagami back into the game. "A casino won't have anything on me then." She sing-songs, low and private. A glance to the others, just enough to tease. Kasagami leans into jest and being generally a horrible person, depending on one's sensibilities.

  931. And thus her hand lowers with Kozue's influence. She's reigned in, just for a few. Long enough that she honestly considers it all. Mmm. Peacemaking.

  933. Kasagami leans to the table, free hand keeping her up. "Well. I'll just say that I think that beauty and power need one another. Don't they just flow into each other? One can hold up the other. I'm a scarred woman, but I like to think my enthusiasm and my love of life has it's own beauty. And that gives me the confidence to hold the power I have. If I didn't have that /inner/ beauty, I'd just be another outcast on the edge of society without anything. And without that power, that beauty would be ignored utterly."

  935. Her head tilts. "No two ideals can stand perfectly. But frankly I like these numbers. I think we can all find harmony, if we try. Maybe our inner beauties can find a mutually beneficial accord, hmm?"

But her red eyes stay on Nori for the moment, and she does examine her, letting out a little bit of air--a sigh--as she does before she looks at Tsuru again. There is the note of what /could/ happen, and there is enough that Shizuru looks to Takara through the answer... But the message is not lost on her.

  965. Shizuru does not even appear to react to it, but she hears it. "...That's quite ambitious," Shizuru says to Tsuru whn she talks aout being the beauty that refutes power. "So you have some disagreements," Shizuru says, looking between Kozue and Tsuru. "But then, that's very like you."

  967. She pauses, however, as Kozue makes her... suggestion. Lifting her eyebrows, the Vice President seems to weigh the idea for a moment. "...It's certainly a pleasant idea," she admits.

  969. She might say more, but Shizuru has set her bowl down, in the same time that Nori changed her posture. She pause at 'allow me', turning her head her way again.

  971. She doesn't answer aloud, but she nods once before Nori lifts the cup to her lips. She reacts on instinct to start, feeling the warmth of the tea and then the fact that Nori shifts it to give her a sip. It isn't the same thickness as the first... But it's intoxicating in its own way, and Shizuru is silent for a few moments after, staring at the model before her over the tea bowl. Then comes Kozue's suggestion, like a bit of warm steam from those springs. "...She might, might she?" Shizuru asks lightly, but she is quieter after that, turning to look awa quickly... And glancing once back to Nori again. Then Kozue keeps... Kozue-ing.

  973. While Tsuru of course... doesn't at all have to indicate Nori. Shizuru closes her hands in her lap, one of the few little signs that something's under her skin. "You're... really quite accomodating," Shizuru says with a closed-eyed smile. "That is the question though, isn't it? Can the interests of you and those I serve be brought together? Harmony is a poetic way to put it. I know that both of my associates would like for this to be the case. I would like for this to be the case. You have been both hospitable and generous, to be certain, all of you."

  975. Shizuru looks to Kasagami, and this look is completely serious, before she looks to Tsuru again. "...There is no beauty in power," Shizuru says. "Though the beautiful can hold power. I think in the end, Kaoru-chan is correct. Unfortunately..." Shizuru reaches over and sets her fingers lightly along Nori's face. "You really are quite lovely."

  977. With that she stands, begins to step out from the table. "Unfortunately... Power, when you attempt to refute it, strikes back. Regardless of how beautiful your ideals... Reality must inevitably intervene." She rudely steps up onto the table, walking in small steps towards Tsuru. Her tea is left behind. "Those I serve have already made their decision, Tsuru-san. The investment was, I'm afraid, never to be."

  979. Shizuru extends a delicate hand, and there is a crackle of lightning, rushing in her open fist. With a rush of light, a purple naginata of strange, futuristic design is in her hand, with a long ribbon and an unusual blade. It remains at her side, outstretched, the muscles of her wrist taut holding it, poised to strike.

  1009. every February in Odori Park, invites winter into the city itself, which
  1010. transforms its parks and streets into a frosty world of ice palaces and

She can command attention without saying a word. ...And it's a useful quality, given her average height. This young woman is of high school age, if not almost a little older, of fair skin that's never seen a day of hard work in her life and long, light brown hair that tumbles past her shoulders, with a fringe of bangs falling just above the line of her red eyes. Her features are smooth, with a wide mouth, and she can express quite a bit just with her expression alone.
