Cave Story+ macOS issues: 2012-present

Cave Story+ has been COMPLETELY broken on Mac OS X since 2012.  In order to make the game playable, a user has to go through some commands in Terminal and link the game’s “data” folder to the ROOT directory of the user’s hard drive.  The fact that someone has to go through those hoops to make the game playable is ABSURD.  The user could do something very wrong by incorrectly using Terminal or messing with the Root directory on their Hard Drive.

The fact that the game is still broken on Mac OS X, almost 8 years later, is just unfathomable.
