  1. Young man left 14 handwritten and encrypted books before disappearing, says mother
  2. Bruno Borges, 24, has been missing since monday (27). Seven days later, his mother, Denise Borges, told us about the mystery surrounding the disappearance of her son.
  3. The psychology student Bruno Borges, 24, has been missing since last Monday (27) in Rio Branco. A week after that, his mother, psychologist Denise Borges, spoke exclusively to the G1, showing a series of reasons that made her believe that the case is not just another disappearance of a person.
  4. The disappearance of the young man is investigated by the Acre Civil Police. The coordinator of the Criminal Investigation Department (DIC), delegate Fabrizzio Sobreira, said that all possibilities are being considered, but that the case remains confidential.
  5. The last time relatives saw him was during his family's conventional lunch on Monday after his parents returned from a 20-day trip. Denise says that Bruno has returned home and everyone followed the normal day of work.
  6. Later, Bruno's father, entrepreneur Athos Borges, returned to the family's home in Rio Branco and realized that his son was not there. "I was the last person to see Bruno, I left him at the corner of the house and from there I went away, he told "see you later, dad", and from there we did not have any news."
  7. Behind the room's door, kept locked during 24 days while the parents traveled, instead of furniture, a statue of the philosopher Giordano Bruno (1548-1600), by whom he has great admiration, estimated at R$ 7000, and 14 extremely organized handwritten books. Some of them copied on the walls, ceiling and floor. All works - identified by Roman numerals - encrypted. (...)

  9. PART II
  10. "The disappearance of Bruno was only noticed when the father entered the room and saw the changes that had been made in the place. "I went in there and did not see the bed, I did not see anything, I just saw it all. At that moment I saw that Bruno was gone," says the businessman.
  11. While his parents were traveling, Bruno stayed at home with his twin brother Rodrigo Borges, who declined to comment on the case, and Gabriela Borges, the older sister.
  12. "He said it was his project, I wondered why he could not know what the project was and he told me he would tell me what it was in two weeks. People tell me why didn't you go there and opened that door "People have to understand that he was not a child, he's an adult and it was his privacy. It bothered me, but I could not break the door," Gabriela said.
  13. The sister also tells that Bruno even left a key that relates letters to the symbols and, based on this, the brothers managed to translate some things. "The title of one of the books is 'Theory of the absorption of knowledge'," Gabriela said.
  14. The mystery reverberated in the socia media after a video - recorded without authorization of the family - viralized.
  15. In the bedroom, the writings are impeccably done, with precision and symmetry, as in a notebook page. Several symbologies were drawn in the room and also around the statue. A painting on the wall where Bruno is shown being touched by an alien also reveals the young man's interest in various subjects.
  16. Denise recalls that her son had spoken a long time ago about a project he was working on and for which he would need money. In response, she said she would sponsor his project if she knew what it was, a request that was rejected. According to his mother, Bruno started it in 2013 and, a year ago, began to focus on finishing it. (...)"
  17.
  18. "He said it was a secret and that I did not gave e him the money, so he started looking for people who trusted him without telling them what the project was. He just told me that he was writing 14 books that would change mankind in a good way. He asked me permission for stop working for a year to finish the project, and I, guided by a doctor, allowed him " she says.
  19.
  20. Still not knowing what the books are hiding, his mother reveals that until March 1, when she traveled on vacation, Bruno's room had the usual furniture. The other two brothers, however, revealed that after the parents' departure, the door was always closed. It took exactly 22 days for him to make the changes.
  21. "Before that, he had written five books. One of them he wanted to copyright it because he "had launched a theory". He asked me for help and I said I would read it. I read it three times. Only in the third I understood. I had never seen such a thing, his theory was perfect, we were intertwined in everything. He wanted to copyright it but I did not give attention to it , " she says.
  22. The statue of Giordano Bruno - a replica of what exists at Campo dei Fiori in Rome - is one of the emblematic objects. The family points out that they do not know exactly when the artifact entered the house. The object was produced in the capital Acre and taken to the residence last week at a time when the young man was alone at home.
  23. The money to pay the project, according to Denise, Bruno got from a cousin. It was R$ 20000. "He's been studying philosophy for many years, he was very much a fan of Giordano. My son knows how to talk about any subject, he has a very high intellectual capacity. He's read the whole Bible and the entire work of Shakespeare" she says. (...)"
  24. "Many theories involve the case. In social media, people even noced the visible phisical resemblance between the Acrean and Giordano Bruno himself, with whom he shares one of his names. For some, the young man may be trying to finish the philosopher's work, interrupted by his death by the Inquisition.
  25. Trying to decipher the mystery
  26. Seven days after his disappearance and initial despair, Denise says she begins to understand her son's attitude, and that he had no psychological problems, she says. Faced with the size of Bruno's effort, the mother reveals that she might have resorted to drastic measures if she saw the writing:
  27. "If he opened the door of the room and called us to see, I would cry until I'm dea, call the ambulance and hospitalize him. He knew what we would do. Maybe he left for us to come to that conclusion. Maybe he tried to register it and failed, and he created a language of his own or maybe the work was made to be read by those who have an intelligence beyond of normality, " she speculates.
  28. At the moment, the family is looking for a specialist who can help decipher the different cryptographies of the books. Denise is Catholic and says that, although worried, the family is more serene, believing that the "exile" is also part of Bruno's plans to build his philosophical theories.
  29. "As a mother, I am afraid of him being outside or not eating. As a psychologist, I know that if a person goes too long without food he or she can go into an outbreak. I'm worried, but in those hours what you can encourage is knee on the floor and pray to God. I'm praying so much for him that I see him covered by divine light, " she adds."
