  11. Spidah: never
  12. Spidah: ever
  13. Spidah: come to this hex again
  14. SMB2_Vegetable: no
  15. Spidah: dammit
  16. Haretsu: See I was thinking maybe it'd be kinda nice if we DID never
  17. Haretsu: but can't win 'em all I guess
  18. SMB2_Vegetable: afraid of a widdle CR1 monster are we
  19. Chou: So agi's currently barfing up his guts from poison damage?
  20. Haretsu: Indeed
  21. Haretsu: check out my Str there
  22. Haretsu: that's not natural
  23. Haretsu: and...okay, been a while since I actually tried something like this
  24. Chou: >Getting hurt by poison
  25. Chou: >2013
  26. Haretsu: Playing Super Castlevania 4, just sorta jumped off an edge in order to suicide because whynaut in the area right before Dracula
  27. Haretsu: ...invisible platform walk all the way over to the left and a WATERFALL OF HEARTS AND WHIPS AND CROSS AND THOSE II AND III BLOCKS
  28. Haretsu: ???
  29. Haretsu: ....oh
  30. Haretsu: and death.
  31. Haretsu: Guess it's not an invisible FLOOR
  32. Haretsu: just an invisible platform or two
  33. Haretsu: Juuust got lucky
  34. Haretsu: Either way, uh, kinda neat-like
  35. Chou: NOPE (D)
  36. Haretsu: I THINK IT KIND OF IS (D)
  37. Haretsu: ...EVEN IF I AM, LIKE
  38. Haretsu: 18 YEARS LATE TO THE PUNCH (D)
  39. Haretsu: ...OR 22, APPARENTLY (D)
  40. Chou: Just gonna surround you with deathmon for that (D)
  41. Haretsu: Hexes are weird, yo
  42. Haretsu: *ENLARGES PERSON*
  43. Chou: And dude
  44. Chou: That would've been so much of a better gimmick
  45. Chou: Than corrupt Pokemon
  46. Haretsu: *CIRCLE KICKS EVERYONE*
  47. Chou: Just experimentation to fuse them (D)
  48. Haretsu: The Pokemon ended up not being the focus of the corruption, really
  49. Chou: Warlord: DONE BY DEMONS, HIPPO HIPPO (D)
  50. Haretsu: was really more the effects of the corruption on humans
  51. Haretsu: And those asshats were just in it for the immortality (D)
  52. Corrupt Valerie: INSTEAD OF THE BITCHIN' FORMS AND ALL THE COOL SHIT YOU COULD DO IN THEM
  53. Corrupt Valerie: AM I RIGHT
  54. Corrupt Valerie: Damn, sizes in hex maps are all wrong
  55. Chou: I wouldn't know.
  56. Chou: I didn't look like a freak when I transformed (CHEW)
  57. Corrupt Valerie: This is my FINAL form (D)
  58. Valerie-: And come on, how is this not awesome as an intermediate (D)
  59. Chou: Sew
  60. Chou: Any idea how I'm getting written in?
  61. Haretsu: Well that's sorta why I pulled up the hex.
  62. Haretsu: See now, we DO need to get to a point where you can be introduced by the end of tonight's session (I ASSUME we're playing tonight)
  63. Haretsu: aaand the current path is looking something like this
  64. Haretsu: There's like, bandits and shit to the southwest, figured you might be one of them
  65. Haretsu: You kinda look like one (D)
  66. Chou: I don't think I'd stoop to such a low as being a bandit (CRS)
  67. Hendrix: Hendrix here is our home base, Balrog is our caravan
  68. Haretsu: well shit I don't know your character, maybe you're lone rangering or something trying to take 'em out (D)
  69. Haretsu: Because they wronged you in some way (D)
  70. Haretsu: It'll PROBABLY in some way be connected to them is all I can say
  71. Chou: Perhaps only if I've murder killed them all (D)
  72. Haretsu: Or you ATTEMPTED to, but failed horribly, and now we have to rescue you (D)
  73. Haretsu: Because let's face it, you aren't that great of an assassin (D)
  74. Chou: I will bleed on you in your sleep : |
  75. Haretsu: They've got pads for that, missy
  76. Chou: « 1d20+1+4 = 1 + 1 + 4 = 6 »
  77. Chou: Well, that's an attack roll
  78. Haretsu: See, like I said
  79. Chou: « 1d20+1+4 = 15 + 1 + 4 = 20 »
  80. Haretsu: not that great of an assassin (D)
  81. Chou: There we go, that hits you.
  82. Chou: « 1d20+1+4-2 = 17 + 1 + 4 - 2 = 20 »
  83. Chou: And so does that
  84. Haretsu: (D)
  85. Chou: « 1d6+1+1d6 = 4 + 1 + 4 = 9 »
  86. Haretsu: Totally unfair, I can't bomb you while you're bleeding on me (D)
  87. Chou: Andddddddddddd
  88. Chou: I bloodied you, turn one. =3=
  89. Haretsu: See, the thing is, initiative exists (D)
  90. Haretsu: « 1d20+3 = 5 + 3 = 8 » (D)
  91. Chou: Nope.
  92. Haretsu: m (D)
  93. Chou: You didn't put my init
  94. Chou: Is that how you plan on beating me? (D)
  95. Haretsu: Your initiative is just your dex modifier
  96. Haretsu: hippo
  97. Haretsu: you don't HAVE improved init
  98. Chou: « 1d20+4 = 17 + 4 = 21 »
  99. Chou: Yep. You bloodied.
  100. Haretsu: GOD DAMMIT (D)
  101. Chou: Wanna beg now, doggy?
  102. Haretsu: How much am I going to hate you (D)
  103. Haretsu: Because it's looking like a lot (D)
  104. Chou: With all your heart.
  105. Haretsu: Dammit.
  106. Haretsu: So basically
  107. Haretsu: you and Arte are going to be best friends.
  108. Chou: What's an "Arte"? It sounds obnoxious.
  109. Chou: Oh, the flamboyant one.
  110. Haretsu: He can be a bit paranoid is all
  111. Haretsu: And I'm not sure if he lives up to his Cavalier "honor"
  112. Haretsu: But no, I can't describe him as "obnoxious"
  113. Chou: But yes, I suppose that would be a good word of warning.
  114. Chou: Don't drink out of any cups I use.
  115. Haretsu: I suppose that's a source for my building poison resistance to immunity
  116. Haretsu: continued exposure to your kind
  117. Chou: If you expose yourself to me or my kind I will forcibly remove any bodyparts I see fit.
  118. Haretsu: I think they called those such as you tsundere? (hmm)
  119. Haretsu: Also. How have I never heard of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QW04OAPGdk
  120. Haretsu: and DOUBLE also.
  121. Haretsu: Alchemists can specifically grow new body parts. (D)
  122. Chou: Then I'll keep tearing them off as they come back.
  123. Chou: Quite simple.
  124. Haretsu: Ordinarily I wouldn't MIND a woman tugging at my body, but that's a bit forceful, don't you think
  125. Chou: We all know you're a girl, you don't have to pretend.
  126. Haretsu: Look at these bushy eyebrows
  127. Haretsu: Could anyone but a mad doctor stake claim to such eyebrows
  128. Chou: Your original kitsune
  129. Chou: Using the same token
  130. Chou: Was a female
  131. Chou: Thus, you are a female.
  132. Haretsu: And was argued to be male by you asslickers (D)
  133. Haretsu: I CANNOT CATCH A BREAK.
  134. Chou: But yes.
  135. Chou: Not sure who I'll dislike more.
  136. Chou: The slobbering dog
  137. Chou: Or the kitsune.
  138. Haretsu: Oh don't be rude to lightkeeper
  139. Haretsu: He's cool
  140. Haretsu: Kinda crazy, but cool
  141. Chou: STILL WONDER IF I CAN UNHINGE MY JAW
  142. Haretsu: MAYBE IF YOU WANT TO BE CREEPY AS FUCK
  143. Chou: Pretty sure I do
  144. Haretsu: ...HOW FAR ARE YOU PLANNING TO UNHINGE IT (D)
  145. Haretsu: -WHY- ARE YOU PLANNING TO UNHINGE IT (D)
  146. Haretsu: T (D)
  147. Haretsu: *MT (D)
  148. Chou: Oh hey
  149. Chou: I found an album of PC characters
  150. Chou: http://www.cringechannel.com/2013/06/02/picture-just-a-regular-male-model-gallery/
  151. Haretsu: cringe indeed
  152. SMB2_Vegetable: with your powers combined, I am planet
  153. Haretsu: No you are vegetable
  154. Chou: Beep
  155. Haretsu: You and your complete lack of skills
  156. Chou: I DON'T NEED SKILLS
  157. Chou: TO BLOODIE YOU IN ONE SHOT
  158. Chou: *BLOODY
  159. Chou: I do need skills to talk though
  160. Chou: And spell
  161. Haretsu: Look, we all pretty much get along (D)
  162. Haretsu: If you start killing members of the party, I'm sorry, but you've got to go (D)
  163. Chou: Oh
  164. Chou: We'll get along juuuuuuuuuust fine.
  165. Haretsu: I'm glad to hear that (D)
  166. Haretsu: I still see your hair as a neck pillow or something though
  167. Haretsu: because really, what it ACTUALLY is is a bit weird
  168. Chou: It sort of looks like a cobra hood, like I said before
  169. Chou: Which works
  170. Haretsu: I think I am going to take a page outta Tirk's new style
  171. Haretsu: Actually enabling the ability to describe actions in the third person instead of using asterices
  172. Chou: AND IN ENGLISH FOR US JIMMY NERDTRON? (D)
  173. Haretsu: ...whoa, that was a bit elevated of diction
  174. Chou: *hits agi with a hammer* Stop that.
  175. Haretsu: maybe I should try to avoid using such language in the future, or at least, make efforts to minimize its use
  176. Haretsu: And yes, that exactly
  177. Chou: That's a Smady thing, agi (CRS)
  178. Haretsu: *hits agi with a hammer* is what I mean by asterisks
  179. Chou: Using large words for no reason other than using them (D)
  180. Haretsu: Kind of limits what you can actually say in a way that flows
  181. Haretsu: OKAY I'LL JUST...
  182. Haretsu: STOP THEN.
  183. Haretsu: AIN'T LIKE IT'S HARD
  184. Haretsu: *DROPS TO PC LEVELS OF TALKING*
  185. Chou: Exactly.
  186. Haretsu: *extricat- *REMOVES stick from ass*
  187. Haretsu: But yeah, not totally sure if you remember from the last session or two of Grognardfidnder
  188. Chou: *throws you right back into the suffer circle (D)
  189. Haretsu: But Tirk would just put quotes around whatever the character was actually SAYING
  190. Chou: Oh, I remember.
  191. Haretsu: And describe in third person any actions they might be taking
  192. Haretsu: Which... DOES have a "forum RP" feel to it, kinda, I guess
  193. Chou: I was very used to the actual writing all the actions out before I started playing tabletops with you lot
  194. Chou: As I used to RP quite frequently.
  195. Haretsu: I did not.
  196. Chou: But with the whole "on the fly" atmosphere of these tabletops with Maptools, the asterisks just become such a convenience thing
  197. Chou: It's good for tirk's characters as he has to describe the world/settings while also describing the actions.
  198. Chou: But I'm not sure how well it would flow if we were -all- doing it
  199. Haretsu: Neither am I
  200. Chou: Things would seem more cumbersome to me.
  201. Haretsu: But I'm also not sure if I'm actually able to get any sort of characterization across through simple dialogue
  202. Chou: At least in the sense of digging through the text to find their actual action, as opposed to just seeing the asterisks.
  203. Chou: It may be good for you, to build characterization
  204. Haretsu: As really, it always HAS been how you say it, instead of what you say to me
  205. Haretsu: I do a lot of gesturing when I speak IRL
  206. Chou: I, at least in my opinion, don't really need to go to that length.
  207. Chou: Not to blow my own horn but I feel I do fairly well at portraying the personalities of my characters.
  208. Haretsu: No arguments here
  209. Haretsu: Holy hell that Elisabet text dump
  210. Haretsu: Pizza prize!
  211. Chou: PIZZA TIME!
  212. Haretsu: NO.
  213. Haretsu: "What's a Caterpie? Poison/Grass?"
  214. Haretsu: IT'S BUG TYPE.
  215. Haretsu: JESUS CHRIST.
  216. Chou: wat
  217. Haretsu: Just watching people who know nothing about Pokemon play a Pokemon game translated by people who know nothing about English
  218. Chou: lol
  219. Haretsu: Oh right
  220. Chou: Oh wrong
  221. Haretsu: you might want to look into getting a composite shortbow as a backup ranged weapon
  222. Haretsu: Since you actually HAVE a Str mod
  223. Donkey: Also, this is Donkay
  224. Donkey: Donkay is cool, we don't poison donkay (D)
  225. Chou: POISON DONKEY YOU SAY
  226. Donkey: NO, OPPOSITE OF THAT.
  227. Chou: SO I STAB DONKEY
  228. Donkey: STAB IS NOT OPPOSITE OF POISON
  229. Chou: What about the cat?
  230. Chou: Everything named Hendrix in Tabletops is pretty much evil confirmed
  231. Donkey: That's Tirk's DM token.
  232. Donkey: So yeah. Evil.
  233. Chou: SO STAB DONKEY
  234. Donkey: WAIT WHAT WHY NO (D)
  235. Chou: He looks so stabable
  236. Haretsu: He's carrying like
  237. Haretsu: ALL MY SHIT (D)
  238. Chou: OH
  239. Chou: SO I SHOULD STAB HIM FOR SURE THEN
  240. Haretsu: HE ALSO CARRIES BEARS
  241. Chou: So decapitate him
  242. Haretsu: I WILL NOT DECAPITATE MY NOBLE STEED
  243. Haretsu: I BEGIN TO FEAR YOUR ADVICE IS SUSPECT, MILADY
  244. Haretsu: SUSPECT I SAY
  245. Chou: *STABS DONKEY REPEATEDLY* I'M NOT SURE IF YOU UNDERSTAND HOW SEVERE THIS SITUATION IS AGI
  246. Haretsu: HOLY FUCK
  247. Haretsu: STOP THAT SHIT
  248. Haretsu: *TARGETED BOMB ADMIXTURE*
  249. Haretsu: « 1d20+7 = 2 + 7 = 9 » *THROWS BOMB*
  250. Haretsu: *ASS*
  251. Haretsu: *WELL YOU STILL HAVE TO REF SAVE*
  252. Haretsu: *OR TAKE 9 DAMAGE.*
  253. Haretsu: *BECAUSE, SEE*
  254. Chou: « 1d20+7 = 10 + 7 = 17 »
  255. Haretsu: *ALCHEMISTS*
  256. Haretsu: *THEY CAN'T FUCKING MI- well you take half, four (D)*
  257. Chou: « 1d20+1+4 = 3 + 1 + 4 = 8 »
  258. Chou: Oh you're lucky
  259. Haretsu: My damage output is KINDA low
  260. Chou: « 1d20+1+4 = 14 + 1 + 4 = 19 »
  261. Haretsu: But man
  262. Haretsu: I always
  263. Haretsu: always hit.
  264. Haretsu: even when I miss, I hit.
  265. Haretsu: Even when I miss and MISS
  266. Haretsu: I can shift it back to hitting.
  267. Haretsu: Alchemists: Kinda fucking reliable.
  268. Chou: My offhand weapon does the same damage, right?
  269. Haretsu: Yeah
  270. Haretsu: Though... I think you add half your Strength mod, not your full?
  271. Chou: « 1d6+1+1d6 = 5 + 1 + 6 = 12 »
  272. Haretsu: Let me check
  273. Chou: I nearly took you out in one hit (D)
  274. Haretsu: yeah yeah
  275. Chou: Fort DC 10 + 1/2 the vishkanya's Hit Dice + the vishkanya's Constitution modifier; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d2 Dex; cure 1 save.
  276. Chou: IN FACT, I POISONED IT
  277. Haretsu: « 1d20+6 = 15 + 6 = 21 »
  278. Haretsu: No, you didn't
  279. Haretsu: Now hold on, I'm trying to figure this out
  280. Haretsu: Some natural attacks are denoted as secondary natural attacks, such as tails and wings. Attacks with secondary natural attacks are made using your base attack bonus minus 5. These attacks deal an amount of damage depending on their type, but you only add half your Strength modifier on damage rolls.
  281. Haretsu: huh, this is the only place I'm finding the "half your strength mod" thing
  282. Haretsu: So yeah whatever you're fine as is
  283. Chou: And I ain't attackin with no tail (D)
  284. Haretsu: you're not using natural weapons
  285. Haretsu: Well, I wouldn't count out your tail being attacked
  286. Haretsu: I should probably look into formulae I need (hmm)
  287. Haretsu: Should be able to get Reduce Person from Bokken just fine
  288. Chou: I'm pretty sure I don't HAVE a tail (D)
  289. Haretsu: Of course you do
  290. Haretsu: It's a rather nice tail, you should be pleased
  291. Chou: Look at my tail, my tail is amazing
  292. Chou: Give it a lick
  293. Chou: Mmm it tastes just like poison
  294. Haretsu: I become immune at 10th (chew)
  295. Chou: That's eight levels I have to kill you. Pretty sure I can do it.
  296. Chou: Worst case scenario, I chew on whats-her-face instead.
  297. Haretsu: Hey, you mess with Tarron, you mess with me
  298. Haretsu: and you mess with ARTE too
  299. Haretsu: and Siegfried.
  300. Haretsu: Have you met Siegfried yet?
  301. Chou: WORK IS NOW
  302. Haretsu: WORK IS NEVER.
  303. MarthTrinity is disconnected.
  304. agimodidius is disconnected.
  305. You have disconnected.
  306. agimodidius has connected.
  307. Thrice has connected.
  308. agimodidius: alright you assmunchers
  309. agimodidius: who told you you were welcome here
  310. tirkeyKujo: suki yo?
  311. Thrice: doubted
  312. Thrice: I let myself in
  313. Haretsu: that doggie door was not installed for you
  314. Thrice: Well there's no door installed at all anymore
  315. Haretsu: Did you uninstall it
  316. Thrice: Yep, from the command line
  317. Haretsu: Huh.
  318. Haretsu: Well you'll have to teach me that
  319. Haretsu: I could've saved a lot of time
  320. Haretsu: *collects them all, is the only person to do so*
  321. Thrice: There's negative use
  322. Haretsu: There may just someday be some use
  323. Haretsu: I'm SUPPOSED to be the brains of the group, it's my responsibility to know what everyone's capable of (D)
  324. Thrice: You can't, IC
  325. Haretsu: It's generally assumed that we might, at some point, be aware of eachother's abilities
  326. Haretsu: At least, that's the impression that I gor
  327. Haretsu: *got
  328. Thrice: you don't have intricate knowledge of their token IC (HIPPO)
  329. Thrice: Hell often people do things without telling the other PCs
  330. Haretsu: Hell does "intricate knowledge of their token" mean
  331. Haretsu: "Oh look X is good at Y"
  332. Haretsu: Seems pretty standard to me
  333. Thrice: You probably don't know Arte receives a +2 bonus on attack rolls against demoralized foes
  334. Haretsu: Does Arte know that
  335. Thrice: And he CERTAINLY doesn't know what all your spells do
  336. Thrice: Or that you even HAVE them
  337. Thrice: Tarron doesn't know how your magic works either
  338. Haretsu: See this is sort of why I'm encouraging him to USE those spells
  339. Haretsu: so he DOES
  340. Thrice: You also probably wouldn't know about challenge being a thing and granting bonuses, you'd just...assume it's a 1v1 duel
  341. Thrice: Though it doesn't stop anyone from attacking him
  342. Thrice: Or vice versa
  343. Haretsu: Well yeah, that's something I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole
  344. Thrice: He doesn't know you have some random feat giving you a bonus on throwing splash weapons
  345. Thrice: all he knows is that you throw them sometimes
  346. Tarron: Hell you don't even know I can detect magical shit
  347. Tarron: Or conjure mist
  348. Haretsu: Why the hell would I tell you to do something I don't know you can do
  349. Haretsu: why would I tell you to do ANYTHING
  350. Tarron: You're assuming you know everything on the token
  351. Tarron: That's your reawson for...having the tokens
  352. Haretsu: I would like to out of character, yes
  353. Haretsu: For reference's sake
  354. Tarron: Incorrectly (D)
  355. Haretsu: All you are, Tarron, is a series of numbers and letters and abilities (D)
  356. Haretsu: You're a Pokedex entry (D)
  357. Haretsu: And I am keeping up to date on said entry (D)
  358. Tarron: But OOC knowledge leads to OOC actions
  359. Tarron: Which is ungood
  360. Haretsu: It leads to me maybe suggesting something OOC, yes
  361. Haretsu: as maybe I remember you can do a thing that you have a momentary lapse on
  362. Tarron: Oh well
  363. Tarron: My fault
  364. Tarron: I've learned to stop caring about mishaps like that
  365. Haretsu: That's your problem, you've learned to stop caring (D)
  366. Haretsu: You haven't cared in a long time (D)
  367. Haretsu: Which is bad (D)
  368. Tarron: huh
  369. Tarron: No, I'm just not going to rewind time
  370. Tarron: Because I forgot something
  371. Tarron: That's my own damned fault
  372. Tarron: I didn't care about PTA because, well
  373. Tarron: We went through 40 fucking hours of RPing
  374. Tarron: And then Warlord tosses it all out the fucking window
  375. Tarron: Yeah, no, I'm done
  376. Tarron: And 40 hours might just be an understatement
  377. Haretsu: Wonder how long we DID spend
  378. Haretsu: Like, over all the sessions
  379. Tarron: Not sure, I just meant about avoiding that fight
  380. Haretsu: With Oculos?
  381. Tarron: When you go to such extents to ignore the players' wishes as to retcon an event to force them into a battle that they clearly do not want and have spent the last ten sessions attempting to avoid
  382. Tarron: I'm out
  383. Haretsu: What event was retconned now
  384. Tarron: Thor you dipshit, nothing was mentioned about that until Warlord realized that he could force the battle with it
  385. Haretsu: well obviously it wasn't mentioned, what the hell would Morgan mention that for
  386. Tarron: I meant OOC
  387. Haretsu: and I thought you didn't actually know yet
  388. Tarron: He didn't plan that
  389. Tarron: I don't KNOW, technically, no, as I left the instant I suspected it
  390. Tarron: But you confirmed it a while ago, I believe
  391. Haretsu: Him doing such makes perfect sense to me, really
  392. Tarron: I don't give a fuck whether it makes goddamned sense or not
  393. Tarron: We spent 10 sessions avoiding that scenario and he goes out of his way to force it on us anydamned ways
  394. Tarron: We could have ended the fucking campaign twelve sessions ago
  395. Tarron: But we decided not to in order to get a different goddamned ending
  396. Tarron: And he, again, ignores it and causes it to end the same damned way anyways
  397. Tarron: Through an event we had no control over
  398. Haretsu: Through... an NPC not taking orders from you for no reason and doing what he thought was the proper way to resolve the situation, yes
  399. Tarron: Fuck off.
  400. Tarron: I don't GIVE A SHIT
  401. Tarron: About what "makes sense"
  402. Tarron: Sometimes you have to do what's PROPER
  403. Tarron: I didn't end the damn game out of courtesy
  404. Tarron: And he shits all over that
  405. Tarron: As he always does
  406. Tarron: Sorry man, but when you have such, in Warlord's terms, blatant disregard for the people playing the game with you
  407. Tarron: It should very well piss them off
  408. Tarron: It's not Warlord's Happy Fun Time
  409. Tarron: It's supposed to be enjoyable for everyone, and those last 10 sessions were enjoyable for about half an hour
  410. Haretsu: Letting Thor live WAS pretty random when we specifically went out of our way to kill Harold
  411. Tarron: And then they dissolved into useless circular arguments that we never had the sense to end and in which we were out of mind entirely
  412. Haretsu: Maybe you don't care about what "makes sense," but I don't think you can just decide to have whatever the fuck you want as an ending just because you want it
  413. Tarron: THAT'S WHAT HE DID.
  414. Tarron: YOU RETARD.
  415. Tarron: He entirely ignored EVERYTHIGN
  416. Tarron: ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY EVERYTHING
  417. Haretsu: YES, AND HE DID SO THROUGH THE LOGICAL ACTIONS OF CHARACTER
  418. Haretsu: S
  419. Tarron: that led up to ANY kind of different ending
  420. Tarron: And ended the campaign the way he'd planned to since thirty sessions ago
  421. Tarron: Again, EVERYTHING we did, ALL input we had
  422. Tarron: Entirely disregarded in favour of his fapfiction
  423. Tarron: That's BAD GMING.
  424. Tarron: God-awful
  425. Tarron: Maybe you're willing to be walked all over for no reason and have nothign you do have any actual tangible impact on the game, but I'm not
  426. Haretsu: I had plenty impact man (D)
  427. Tarron: Tabletops aren't movies and they're not games; you can't simply pretend that you're the only one interacting with them like Warlord did there
  428. Haretsu: Was I a character in a plot that he directed, sure
  429. Haretsu: nothing particularly wrong with that
  430. Tarron: How did you have any impact; the last ten sessions were entirely spent negotiating so that we would not have to fight
  431. Tarron: Then that was all thrown out so that we would have to fight.
  432. Tarron: NOTHIGN you said changed anything in the long run.
  433. Tarron: I don't even care if it turns into a "happy ending"
  434. Haretsu: I never really bought into the "everybody lives" thing in the first place
  435. Tarron: By them beating Oculos and shit
  436. Tarron: Which they more than likely would
  437. Tarron: It's still bullshit
  438. Tarron: If it was all entirely scripted anyways he should have just fucking told us
  439. Tarron: And not made us waste all that time
  440. Lightkeeper: Oh my, why did I have to spend the last few hours figure drawing
  441. Lightkeeper: the current topic sounds hilariously cringe-inducing
  442. Lightkeeper: I assume you wrapped up the campaign last session, if you played yesterday?
  443. Haretsu: Thrice is shockingly attached to the idea that giving the villains everything they want means they won't want it anymore
  444. Haretsu: And no, we did not and likely never will
  445. Lightkeeper: Well I did tell you, even with the limited knowledge I had
  446. Lightkeeper: that continuing the game past what should be the final boss is usually a really bad idea
  447. Lightkeeper: It seems you were only continuing it over various unimportant split hairs, and what do you know, they ended up growing out of control and now nobody is happy.
  448. Tarron: Actually, the only reason I continued it?
  449. Tarron: Courtesy to Warlord.
  450. Tarron: I didn't feel like ending the game by just walking up and CDGing Oculos would be fair to him
  451. Tarron: So I decided to just try and RP around it
  452. Tarron: but no
  453. Tarron: he could not share those views, and did his very best to fuck us over and disregard all we had to say
  454. Dugstruction: *dugstroys you*
  455. Lightkeeper: Being courteous in a Warlord game is never a good idea
  456. Lightkeeper: have you learned nothing from Rocket PTA
  457. Lightkeeper: *going entirely on assumptions*
  458. Lightkeeper: Seriously, it feel like I was the only one playing the game properly
  459. Lightkeeper: by being a that guy murderhobo who would probably killemall.avi
  460. Lightkeeper: Sadly you could not continue on with my zen-like guidance because the game grew incredibly unfun for me
  461. Dugstruction: Are we actually using hero points in this campaign
  462. Dugstruction: I forgot to ask
  463. Lightkeeper: I entirely forgot
  464. Lightkeeper: weren't we using hero points last monarchcreator
  465. Dugstruction: Probably
  466. Lightkeeper: right, I remember now
  467. Lightkeeper: Zach just randomly had them and blew them all on the bear
  468. Dugstruction: Oh right, so he did
  469. Dugstruction: that poor soul
  470. Lightkeeper: that silly billy
  471. Tarron: Indeed.
  472. Haretsu: So how're we getting snakeyes in again
  473. Tarron: oh right, are we playing tonight
  474. Haretsu: I remember when this was my favorite song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPmruHc4S9Q
  475. Lightkeeper: Guess we have no reason to not
  476. Lightkeeper: now get outta my house, especially me, cuz this ain't even my house
  477. Haretsu: Right.
  478. You have disconnected.
  479. Server started; please wait for map to refresh.
  480. Thrice has connected.
  481. Agi has connected.

  483. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  484. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  485. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  486. Agi: aw shit
  487. Thrice: (( right where the hell we--right there yeah ))
  488. Agi: Donkey's a GM token
  489. Haretsu: (( and Arte is a question mark ))
  490. Arte: (( We did get the 100 Exp from exploring this area last session right ))
  491. Hendrix: I don't even remember what happened last time
  492. Hendrix: but I do remember you got your 100 exp
  493. Arte: (( Agi got spidered ))
  494. Hendrix: after the spider fight
  495. Haretsu: *SPIDERS.*
  496. Haretsu: *SPIDERS HAPPENED.*
  497. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  498. Arte: (( we should have 3600 then ))
  499. Arte: (( Do you have that Agi ))
  500. Hendrix: Right, so, spiders happened
  501. Haretsu: *got 3600 yeah*
  502. Hendrix: It's now midday, what do
  503. Haretsu: Poison, poison, always with the poison... I even tried to build up resistance to this stuff, if you can believe that! Small amounts here and there... apparently I missed a dose or two of "giant spider."
  504. Haretsu: *NO SADDLE, CAN'T RIDE DONKEY*
  505. Haretsu: *DON'T WORRY, I'LL BE FINE*
  506. Tarron: Must not you rest, following that?
  507. Tarron: *you...can't have SADDLEBAGS without a saddle*
  508. Haretsu: *well I wish I'd known that*
  509. Haretsu: *figured they were just like*
  510. Haretsu: *bags*
  511. Tarron: *IT'S KIND OF OBVIOUS*
  512. Haretsu: *NAW (D)*
  513. Tarron: *THEY ARE, BAGS THAT ATTACH TO THE SADDLE*
  514. Haretsu: *LIKE, A BELT, OR SOMETHING, OR JUST... DRAPES OVER*
  515. Haretsu: *WHATEVER*
  516. Tarron: (( I think you can ride without a saddle anyways, just take penalties or something ))
  517. Haretsu: *climbs onto schrodinger's saddle* Yeah, not exactly the best rider in the world, but it'll do.
  518. Donkey: fuck this nigger think he's doing
  519. Arte: Not going to argue with you. You want to go? We'll go.
  520. Haretsu: *grunt* Might need to add a day or so to the schedule, this thing can be a bit tough to manage. I'm all set though.
  521. Haretsu: *apparently a pack saddle costs 5 gp*
  522. Haretsu: *I am also now encumbered (sad)*
  523. Haretsu: *at least donkay'll keep me at a steady pace, right donkay, here's a handle animal check, we're cool, right « 1d20+2 = 10 + 2 = 12 »*
  524. Haretsu: *yeah we're cool*
  525. Haretsu: *wait, they can't be made untrained?*
  526. Haretsu: *shit, why not*
  527. Haretsu: *whatever who cares*
  528. Hendrix: So where do you wish to go, heathens
  529. Haretsu: *carry on eastwards*
  530. Arte: *I suppose so*
  531. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 64 » just on a stroll I assume
  532. Haretsu: *might wanna check off that*
  533. Haretsu: *and naw we're exploring all these*
  534. Arte: *just put a check mark there, and naw, we're exploring it*
  535. Haretsu: *ninja'd (D)*
  536. Hendrix: Doesn't seem to be anything of worth here
  537. Hendrix: take that 100 exp and leave
  538. Hendrix: It's now close to midnight
  539. Haretsu: *poison's beginning to fade, thank god*
  540. Arte: *beginning indeed, you still got two eight-hour rests to do*
  541. Haretsu: *don't remind me (FEDUP)*
  542. Haretsu: (( Not much we can really do if it's close to midnight ))
  543. Hendrix: It's a pretty horrible night to have a curse
  544. Tarron: My, nothing? How dull. But we may take comfort in tonight's safety!
  545. Haretsu: (( I'd suggest bear hunting since we're in the area but fuck that when it's dark and I'm in recovery ))
  546. Tarron: *We: cannot*
  547. Tarron: *AGI MAN, THAT BEAR WAS A FLUKE, IF IT HIT ANY OF US THAT ONE WOULD BE DEAD*
  548. Haretsu: (( naw they'd be fine ))
  549. Haretsu: (( totally fine ))
  550. Haretsu: *well let's see what I have that can be used for entertainment purposes*
  551. Haretsu: *I have a ball, some marbles, and my extracts of course (hmm)*
  552. Siegfried: (( I don't wnat to enter anyone's taint thank you very much ))
  553. Haretsu: *anyone wanna try out a Disguise Self*
  554. Siegfried: (( AND I WOULD APPRECIATE YOU NOT FUCKING WITH ANYONE WHILE YOU'RE TOO POISONED TO EVEN UNDO IT ))
  555. Siegfried: (( I have cards, but do we really want to just sit here and roll ))
  556. Siegfried: (( naw, we don't want to just sit here and roll ))
  557. Haretsu: (( Probably not, naw ))
  558. Haretsu: *digging through bag at campsite, then* Should really look into antivenom recipes... hrm. You sure you don't want to give that growth extract a try, Arte? Or maybe something a bit different? It's not all bombs and violence I've got on my plate, you know. I've had plenty of time for... recreational brews. Or maybe someone totally different... Tarron? Lightkeeper?
  559. Lightkeeper: *Turns head* There are many silly things I have done in the past, but I think I'll have to pass this opportunity in favor of tuning my guitar.
  560. Arte: I told you, I'm not going to risk that unless I have to. My answer's not changed. I don't play around with things like that. Especially when the preparer is poisoned in the first place!
  561. Haretsu: (( I keep forgetting whether you actually have a guitar ))
  562. Arte: (( back sorta, and he does not ))
  563. Arte: And to add on top of that, you can't even see what you're doing. It's pitch-black.
  564. Haretsu: *raises lantern* I came prepared. But fine. *blank stare at lightkeeper* You... it must be hard to keep that particular type of instrument tuned.
  565. Tarron: Mm, I cannot fix that now, unfortunately! It is difficult to appreciate these things when it is so dark.
  566. Haretsu: I do have a hard time understanding why you're so worried... it's just like any other tool you'd use in battle! I can hardly imagine you pulled that lance of yours fresh out of the armory and went jousting without at least giving it a few practice swings.
  567. Arte: Usually, lances don't make their wielder insane. I've heard of a couple in stories, but this isn't one of them.
  568. Haretsu: I'd put that more at the fault of the alcohol than anything.
  569. Haretsu: If this is a matter of what happens to MYSELF when we're in a combat situation which calls for it... well, that's a different brew entirely, and I'll wholly admit that it has certain... effects, on my behavior.
  570. Haretsu: But fine. If you're not interested in THAT...
  571. Haretsu: *I assume we're camped out, and I do indeed have my lantern as a light source*
  572. Haretsu: *begins mixing a different extract entirely*
  573. Arte: (( just how many have you made today ))
  574. Haretsu: (( You had one ))
  575. Haretsu: (( and I used a mutagen ))
  576. Haretsu: (( I had nothing "prepared" ))
  577. Haretsu: (( and it takes all of a single minute to make one ))
  578. Haretsu: (( hippo ))
  579. Haretsu: ...*finishes* Here, hand over the one you had. *offers replacement*
  580. Arte: What are you doing now? What is this, you want me to drink it now? You don't think it's a bad idea to try this kind of thing at midnight, about an hour after we should have been asleep? We have this entire area to explore and we're in bear territory.
  581. Haretsu: *I figured we were, you know, in a camp situation and just talking*
  582. Haretsu: *that was the idea*
  583. Arte: (( Agi if you want to play Seinfeld as directed by Quentin Tarantino play Fiasco, we have to explore these four areas and get back this session (HIPPO) ))
  584. Arte: (( wait, five ))
  585. Haretsu: (( Well tirk said "it is now midnight" ))
  586. Haretsu: (( There is literally no reason he'd say that ))
  587. Haretsu: (( unless he expected us to do something ))
  588. Arte: (( I'd have to guess what he expected us to do would be sleeping ))
  589. Hendrix: Oh there really isn't anything to do
  590. Hendrix: I just said it because it's, y'know, midnight
  591. Hendrix: As if I'm gonna dictate whatever the heck ya'll feel like doin
  592. Haretsu: (( There really is not, no, so I'm attempting to dispel an entirely unfounded prejudice in order to have any semblance of "being able to do things" ))
  593. Arte: (( it's not unfounded when it's something that happened ))
  594. Arte: (( the hatred of Finne was entirely founded, even if it wasn't his fault ))
  595. Haretsu: You can drink it now if you want, it's harmless enough. You've seen me use it, when we fought the bear - it just condenses a small amount of energy around you, creating a defensive disc.
  596. Haretsu: It doesn't actually affect YOU in any way, just attunes the disc to your person. It tastes like blueberries.
  597. Arte: You said you've been building up a resistance to this kind of thing; I haven't. I don't get what you're talking about here, but I'll take it if I need it.
  598. Arte: (( to be perfectly fair, you're NOT supposed to do this ))
  599. Arte: (( as most alchemists can't ))
  600. Haretsu: (( I'm not supposed to give out extracts despite taking infusion ))
  601. Arte: (( You can because you have infusion, but he doesn't know that's even a thing ))
  602. Arte: (( As in, if it were any other alchemist it'd be bad to take it ))
  603. Arte: (( He has no reason to suspect you're any different ))
  604. Arte: (( Especialyl after that ))
  605. Haretsu: (( Does he have any reason to know that alchemy is a thing in the first place ))
  606. Arte: (( He was in the military, so probably yes ))
  607. Arte: (( This is not important ))
  608. Haretsu: *but yeah fine you hate "pointless talking" so sure, fuck it, I'll just not talk for the rest of the session*
  609. Haretsu: *let's go*
  610. Arte: (( We should not be taking 30 minutes OOC to discuss unimportant things ))
  611. Arte: (( We're kind of on a set schedule ))
  612. Haretsu: *tirk, g*
  613. Arte: (( And LK does not talk ))
  614. Haretsu: *go
  615. Haretsu: *I TRIED talking to LK*
  616. Haretsu: *tirk did not reply*
  617. Arte: (( He..did reply ))
  618. Arte: (( just not the reply you wanted ))
  619. Haretsu: *no, he just stopped talking after my reply to his reply*
  620. Arte: (( oyu said one thing to him then started talking to Arte, give up ))
  621. Arte: (( Let us continue ))
  622. Hendrix: The invisible guitar thing is more of a joke than anything
  623. Haretsu: *I was trying to talk to both, as you think that's possible*
  624. Hendrix: Explaining it any further would just be sorta ruining it
  625. Hendrix: anyway
  626. Hendrix: I suppose it is now the next day, and another day, another direction to go about
  627. Haretsu: (( Keep going right then ))
  628. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 55 » Guess we're rolling this
  629. Tarron: We've come this far, we have no reason to turn back yet!
  630. Hendrix: Not like it matters though because #staged encounter incoming
  631. Tarron: (( damn ))
  632. Hendrix: You explore some more in your little caravan, but out from the corner of your eye, you see a huge humanoid figure stomping about, around twice your size, with its head held down.
  633. Arte: ...Did you put another of those things in someone's drink?
  634. Hendrix: It doesn't appear to notice you, but what it is doing is wandering about freely, carrying a bundle of sticks and stones.
  635. Haretsu: You're kidding me, right? They hardly last any time at all.
  636. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+9 = 15 + 9 = 24 » I don't think nature works on humanoids, might be something else entirely => Invalid expression: « 1d20+9 = 15 + 9 = 24 » I don't think nature works on humanoids, might be something else entirely.
  637. Agi says to the GMs: Yeah it's Local
  638. Hendrix: the figure is draped in rags and tatters, making it hard to tell just what it really looks like
  639. Agi says to the GMs: not Nature
  640. Hendrix: and...
  641. Agi says to the GMs: or wait, MONSTROUS humanoid is nature
  642. Tarron: My, my, I think this may be some sort of peculiar creature! The possibility of a very tall man remains, still!
  643. Tarron: (( >View Post Knowledge (local) being trained only, and not a class skill for many classes, means that your average human may well not be able to identify other humans! This may explain the exceptional quantity of half-human hybrids. ))
  644. Haretsu: (( Guess I'll go look up Fiasco while waiting ))
  645. Tarron: (( that'd do it ))
  646. Tarron: (( No, Agi, you just need to learn when the time to RP is (D) In a town or something, not out in the wilderness at midnight when we have a lot of shit to do this session after RPing a birthday party for the entirety of the last session (D) ))
  647. Tarron: (( I think that was the last session ))
  648. You whisper to Agi: The giant frame combined with the excessive rags makes the creature a dead ringer for a much-dreaded monster out here in the stolen lands: The Thawn. Often called “mud giants” due to the foul, mottled skin that hangs loosely from their misshapen frames, thawns are universally malformed and dreadful, though each is quite distinctive in its singular monstrousness. Opportunistic feeders, thawns seek out fresh battlefields and the scraps of slain beasts, reluctantly sharing their pickings with other parasites and scavengers. Alone as they wander the lands, thawns take care of their own needs first and foremost, caring little for others of their kind. Disdaining anything like a fair fight, they excel at crafting clever decoys and simple traps. Though sizable creatures, thawns typically strive to draw as little attention to themselves as possible, preferring to craft convincing dummies from mud, stone, and animal carcasses while they wait in hiding.
  649. Tarron: (( been a while now ))
  650. Haretsu: (( Aw lawd that's a lotta text ))
  651. Hendrix: Don't roll so high next time
  652. Haretsu: (( What'd I even get ))
  653. Hendrix: 25
  654. Haretsu: (( Christ ))
  655. Arte: (( hips ))
  656. Haretsu: In fact... I think we've stumbled across a Thawn, maybe on its way to build up another trap.
  657. Arte: A what?
  658. Tarron: Oh, traps! My, which kind?
  659. Haretsu: Maybe you know it as a "mud giant?" They have a couple of names... *fuck if I know what kind of traps* Could be a number of things, really, snares, pitfalls... er, fox traps... watch your step whatever you do.
  660. Haretsu: *wish I knew what its CR was so I could recommend what action to take besides "be careful"*
  661. Arte: I don't know it as anything. I'm trained for war, not cleaning up giant infestations.
  662. You whisper to Agi: They're typically not known for hand-to-hand combat, though they can still be pretty formidable against most rookie travellers
  663. You whisper to Agi: at the very least, they aren't incredibly perceptive
  664. Haretsu: It may be worth our while to do just that, though. We're just lucky that we saw it first... the next group through here might not be so lucky.
  665. Tarron: If there is but one, we will be fine! The traps, however, I do not know!
  666. Lightkeeper: "Hmm, I have heard some rumors about the walking mud piles. They do not take very kindly to being spotted~."
  667. Lightkeeper: "I trust that if it is wandering in the open like so, it may not be very well prepared..."
  668. Arte: Fine, let's track it down. It can't be hard. Maybe there's a bounty on this thing.
  669. Haretsu: (( Unless it WANTED to be spotted ))
  670. Haretsu: (( (smirk) ))
  671. Arte: (( from what I gather it's a troll that fell in a mudbank ))
  672. Haretsu: (( Basically. ))
  673. Haretsu: (( Same fashion sense too ))
  674. Arte: (( I don't think it knows what reverse psychology is ))
  675. Hendrix: if you wish to pursue the Thawn closer, there is a new map to do business in
  676. Tarron: (( Shit now it sounds like a goosebumps CYOA (D) ))
  677. Tarron: (( We so dead (D) ))
  678. Haretsu: (( oh ))
  679. Haretsu: (( This ))
  680. Haretsu: (( this is where last Kingmaker died. ))
  681. Tarron: (( I semi-remember this ))
  682. Tokens dropped onto map 'Wandering Thawn'
  683. Tarron: (( weren't there some kobolds here ))
  684. Tokens dropped onto map 'Wandering Thawn'
  685. Haretsu: *oh Siegfried, always spawning where you're least able to help*
  686. Arte: *well I'm probably the only one with Survival, so I guess I should be up front*
  687. Haretsu: (( Is it Survival or Perception for traps? (hmm) Or are you just tracking ))
  688. Siegfried: I'm a purple lion with glowing eyes
  689. Siegfried: I cannot into hiding
  690. Siegfried: (( Perception ))
  691. Siegfried: (( Survival is tracking ))
  692. Siegfried: (( LK's a ? ))
  693. Tarron: How does one take a "Thawn" on?
  694. Haretsu: Like most things, from a distance if possible. Anything that big's going to pack a punch. If Lightkeeper's right, and he doesn't have his usual traps set up, we do have the advantage...
  695. Lightkeeper: "Well, one can never be too careful~"
  696. Arte: Distance, great. Not my forte.
  697. Thawn: The thawn is stomping forth at a sloooooow pace, occasionally picking up whatever materials he drops
  698. Haretsu: *does it have any visible weapons, besides the sticks and stones*
  699. Thawn: Other than it's thick claws, none.
  700. Haretsu: *yeaaaaah. Like those.*
  701. Siegfried: *Distance, perfect, I'm great at fighting at a distance*
  702. Siegfried: *That's just my thing*
  703. Haretsu: *LITERALLY EVERYTHING IS BEST FOUGHT AT A DISTANCE (D)*
  704. Haretsu: *EXCEPT, LIKE, MAGES (D)*
  705. Punhead Fortune: Feeling a bit clawstrophobic are we
  706. Siegfried: *Or, uh, archers*
  707. Haretsu: *okay those too*
  708. Siegfried: *And do you KNOW how many monsters have spell-like abilities*
  709. Siegfried: *Almost all of them*
  710. Haretsu: Might be a good idea to give that Shield a try. Or the bow you picked up?
  711. Siegfried: *Also, charge exists, as does run*
  712. Siegfried: *distance works only for the first round*
  713. Arte: Thinking that the bow would be better. Charging in could set off traps.
  714. Lightkeeper: *Strums invisible guitar while whistling* "Have your courage inspired, if only by a little bit. I doubt the beast can hear well through those rags."
  715. Haretsu: *haha, holy balls*
  716. Haretsu: *see, remember how I only have to hit your Touch AC*
  717. Haretsu: *if you're flatfooted that's just 10*
  718. Haretsu: Right then, ranged assault it is. Positions?
  719. Haretsu: *by which I mean yeah let's get into them*
  720. Arte: *Well I'll be up front*
  721. Arte: *You guys should...go to the right*
  722. Arte: *so that you aren't in Siegfried's way in case he charges at US*
  723. Haretsu: « 1d20+3 = 20 + 3 = 23 » initiative then
  724. Haretsu: well okay
  725. Haretsu: could've used that somewhere else
  726. Thawn: « 1d20-9 = 4 - 9 = -5 » STAAAAAAARS
  727. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+4 = 1 + 4 = 5 » o3o
  728. Arte: « 1d20+2 = 18 + 2 = 20 »
  729. Tarron: « 1d20+1 = 12 + 1 = 13 »
  730. Hendrix: Harry,Arte, Tarron Lightkeeper, Thawn.
  731. Tarron: *you poor, poor thing*
  732. Tarron: *You are already dead*
  733. Haretsu: « 1d20+5+1-1 = 6 + 5 + 1 - 1 = 11 » *HURLSABOMBU*
  734. Hendrix: You hurl the bomb, hitting the Thawn and bringing it into a noticable panic
  735. Haretsu: « 1d6+4 = 5 + 4 = 9 » Shouldn't've been so huge dude
  736. Tarron: (( I don't think that you usually take a -8 to init from being surprised ))
  737. Tarron: (( I think that was only against the bandits ))
  738. Hendrix: Even if it didn't, Thawn would be dead last
  739. Hendrix: due to -1 init
  740. Tarron: (( mip ))
  741. Arte: « 1d20+2+2+1 = 5 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 10 » *Welp, all I got's a bow, let's see how this do*
  742. Arte: *It do not*
  743. Haretsu: (( Oh right, Inspire Courage ))
  744. Siegfried: *not charging in just yet*
  745. Haretsu: (( Nigga takes 10 damage, not 9 ))
  746. Thawn: The Thawn notices his assaulters and covers his face. "STOOOOOP LOOOOOKING AT MEEEEEE"
  747. Haretsu: (( And you were saying that DOESN'T affect splash damage, right ))
  748. Hendrix: I dunno, it just says weapon damage rolls
  749. Siegfried: (( Splash damage isn't a roll, so it isn't affected ))
  750. Haretsu: (( Well Thrice mentioned something about it specifically not affecting the secondary damage, you know, the ring around the rosie ))
  751. Tarron: « 1d20+1+1+1 = 18 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 21 » Oh now, who would not want to be looked at?
  752. Tarron: *damn Arte step it up* « 1d8+1 = 1 + 1 = 2 »
  753. Tarron: *sad*
  754. Haretsu: *damn girl, I thought you had more dex than that*
  755. Haretsu: *apparently not*
  756. Tarron: *You don't add dex to damage anyhow, especailly not with a crossbow*
  757. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+4 = 20 + 4 = 24 » "My aim is not quite sharp at this distance..."
  758. Tarron: (( yes it is ))
  759. Lightkeeper: « 1d6+1d6 = 4 + 2 = 6 »
  760. Haretsu: (( Well I was talking your attack roll ))
  761. Tarron: (( now confirm that shit ))
  762. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+4 = 15 + 4 = 19 » Right forgot that's a thing
  763. Tarron: (( forgot IC ))
  764. Tarron: (( and a shortbow is x3 ))
  765. Lightkeeper: « 6+1d6 = 6 + 2 = 8 »
  766. Tarron: (( and then +3 from IC, since it affects you too lol ))
  767. Tarron: (( and is multiplied on crit ))
  768. Hendrix: Woah, it's just multiplied on crit then
  769. Haretsu: *There ARE like a million penalties to your shot from cover*
  770. Haretsu: *but yeah you critted so whocarz*
  771. Haretsu: *and yes, yes it is*
  772. Tarron: (( there's cover? oh well Siegfried I guess ))
  773. Haretsu: *take your 11 damage, Thawno*
  774. Thawn: The thawn begins to lumber and fall back from that nasty 420_Noskope_XXx headshot. "Stooop loookiiing at meeeeee"
  775. Tarron: My, you don't give yourself enough credit!
  776. Thawn: 150 exp +100 from exploration bonus
  777. Haretsu: THAT wasn't sharp?
  778. Lightkeeper: "It could have been ever so much sharper..."
  779. Haretsu: I swear, that must've gone directly through its heart.
  780. Lightkeeper: "Now what would a mud giant have on its person, I wonder?"
  781. Arte: I'll leave the bow-shooting to you, then. *guess we may as well check*
  782. Tarron: Oh, mud, I would expect!
  783. Haretsu: *yeah what's the thing got on it*
  784. Haretsu: *and it was totally a gentle giant, we monsters
  785. Thawn: « 1d100 = 97 »
  786. Haretsu: *
  787. Haretsu: *aw shit is high good or bad*
  788. Thawn: It has nothing on it besides rags, sticks, and rocks
  789. Haretsu: *dammit.*
  790. Tarron: (( high is always bad ))
  791. Tarron: (( lol ))
  792. Lightkeeper: "Disappointment...but at least it shall no longer bother anyone around here with its devious traps."
  793. Arte: Nothing special, I guess. Let's hope we don't run into any of those traps on the way out.
  794. Arte: *so how many traps do we run into on the way out then*
  795. Hendrix: You find yourselves on the way out if you have no more business with the deaddened mud giant. The rest of the area from the east of here is going out of the bounds of the greenbelt, so it is best to not proceed further from there.
  796. Arte: *checks map* Right, we're only chartered to explore this area for now. So, southwest?
  797. Haretsu: *fuck yeah poison's out of me* Southwest!
  798. Arte: « 1d100 = 8 » welp
  799. Arte: (( m ))
  800. Hendrix: Aaaww here we go
  801. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 19 » What do you meet this time
  802. Arte: (( Tirk: ANOTHER BEAR. ))
  803. Haretsu: (( rawr nigga ))
  804. Hendrix: FUCK I was hoping it wasn't one of these
  805. Arte: (( damn it all ))
  806. Hendrix: because I did not make a token for it, just a bit
  807. Haretsu: (( mip ))
  808. Arte: (( mip ))
  809. Arte: (( mooray ))
  810. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  811. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  812. Hendrix: You come across a tree which eerily looks like a claw reaching for the clouds. Around it is a growling marsupial about the size of a wolf, but it has the slender build of a cat, heavy whiskers, and dark stripes down its back. Its long tail flips about, smacking the ground as it scans the woods.
  813. Haretsu: (( oh god ))
  814. Haretsu: (( nostalgia trip (cool) Or not nostalgia but you know ))
  815. Tokens dropped onto map 'The Forgotten Cache'
  816. Tokens dropped onto map 'The Forgotten Cache'
  817. Haretsu: (( Only one? Seriously? ))
  818. Arte: (( huh I think I know what this is ))
  819. Arte: (( By name ))
  820. Arte: (( but nothing else sadly ))
  821. Hendrix: ayep, only one
  822. Haretsu: (( and yeah newmap ))
  823. Haretsu: (( We're kind of curbstomping these encounters ))
  824. Arte: (( damn it hold on ))
  825. Hendrix: however, it does seem to obviously notice you, as it is not fooled so easily.
  826. Hendrix: also it's kinda hard to miss the big purple all-you-can-eat-buffet there
  827. Haretsu: (( ...wait a second ))
  828. Hendrix: I'm waiting
  829. Haretsu: (( THYLACINE IS BADGER, ISN'T IT ))
  830. Haretsu: (( OH GOD ))
  831. Haretsu: (( RUN ))
  832. Haretsu: (( Or... tasmanian devil? (hmm) ))
  833. Haretsu: (( Tiger. Whatever. ))
  834. Arte: (( No it's just a thylacine ))
  835. Arte: (( Pretty sure they have their own stats ))
  836. Arte: This some kind of dog? *looks around* I thought they usually hunted in packs.
  837. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+9 = 5 + 9 = 14 » right oblig nature roll => Invalid expression: « 1d20+9 = 5 + 9 = 14 » right oblig nature roll.
  838. Tarron: My, I hope it is not hunting at all!
  839. Arte: Given its behaviour, I don't think that's likely. Ready your weapons, and don't get caught off guard if it charges...
  840. You whisper to Agi: this appears to be a larger and more aggressive breed of Thylacine called the Brush Thylacine. They can reach almost 8 feet long from nose to tail-tip, though still only weighing 100 pounds. While thylacines may appear rather quick, they are far from proficient runners. Due to their oddly shaped legs, their run is awkward and slow. However, the animals can stand on their haunches for short periods, helping them to fend off other predators and kill larger prey. Thylacines are fiercely independent. While wolves and other canines can be tamed and domesticated, thylacines are wild without exception.
  841. Haretsu: Agreed...
  842. Haretsu: m
  843. Lightkeeper: "The thing must have gotten separated from its pack. Just don't get bitten by it!"
  844. Haretsu: (( Damn thing's just 8 feet long ))
  845. Brush Thylacine: « 1d20+2 = 9 + 2 = 11 » GAWD YOU PISS ME OFF I'M GONNA KILLEMALL.AVI
  846. Haretsu: « 1d20+3 = 13 + 3 = 16 » Here it comes!
  847. Arte: « 1d20+2 = 20 + 2 = 22 » *ohgodno* Why not?! Usual reasons, or there something special about its jaws?
  848. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+4 = 19 + 4 = 23 » "So fast on the uptake too!"
  849. Tarron: « 1d20+1 = 18 + 1 = 19 » *Slow-ass badgers*
  850. Tarron: *I am so, so sorry*
  851. Haretsu: Usual reasons!
  852. Lightkeeper: Lightkeeper, Arte, Tarron, Harry, Slowpokelacine
  853. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+4 = 9 + 4 = 13 » "Should make for an easy target right now!"
  854. Brush Thylacine: gtfo faget
  855. Haretsu: (( It's flat-footed ))
  856. Haretsu: (( but it MIGHT have a huge Natural Armor bonus ))
  857. Haretsu: (( who knows ))
  858. Arte: (( You did forget point blank shot I think ))
  859. Arte: (( or your BAB, one of the two ))
  860. Donkey: *sweet, I'm behind a rock*
  861. Arte: *I'll just like, charge it, I don't need no fancy lion*
  862. Donkey: *right where I should be*
  863. Donkey: (( But yeah if it hasn't acted yet in init it doesn't have its dex/etc. bonus to AC ))
  864. Donkey: (( figured it might have one of those ))
  865. Lightkeeper: Huh, I just forgot to increase the attack on the arrow by one
  866. Lightkeeper: *hits now o3o* « 1d6 = 2 »
  867. Arte: (( +1 from PBS ))
  868. Arte: (( they only canceled ONE type of PBS ))
  869. Arte: This is more my turf! « 1d20+4+2+2 = 2 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 10 »
  870. Donkey: (( Oh shit PBS was cancelled? ))
  871. Arte: *m*
  872. Lightkeeper: the +4 did include the PBS
  873. Arte: (( I menat on damage ))
  874. Siegfried: *goddamn really old man*
  875. Hendrix: woah shit, since when did it increase damage and why did i not notate that down
  876. Hendrix: fak me
  877. Siegfried: « 1d20+2+3 = 2 + 2 + 3 = 7 »
  878. Siegfried: really old me
  879. Brush Thylacine: YOU'RE LUCKY I GOT NO FANCY FULL ATTACK OR NOTHIN BECAUSE I'D BE EATIN YA ALIVE BOY
  880. Tarron: I will give it a shot! It didn't seem to fare well against ranged attacks! « 1d20+1+1 = 6 + 1 + 1 = 8 »
  881. Tarron: *damn you dice*
  882. Haretsu: *readies crossbow* Seems like overkill to use a bomb on this... « 1d20+4 = 1 + 4 = 5 »
  883. Tarron: (( m ))
  884. Haretsu: *BAP*
  885. Brush Thylacine: CHRIST YOU ALL SUCK Y'KNOW THAT
  886. Haretsu: ...
  887. Haretsu: *caaasually reloads crossbow*
  888. Siegfried: Damn you and your ffs
  889. Brush Thylacine: « 1d20+5 = 5 + 5 = 10 » I'm just gonna nom this lion
  890. Tarron: *can't lel*
  891. Siegfried: GET OUTTA HERE
  892. Haretsu: (( and now it is sosodead ))
  893. Arte: Can someone hit the thing?! Lightkeeper, you did, do it again!
  894. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+5 = 19 + 5 = 24 » "You can't rush these things, mmkay?"
  895. Haretsu: (( dayum LK ))
  896. Lightkeeper: « 1d6+1 = 1 + 1 = 2 » if only that was a crit
  897. Arte: (( sadly not a crit on a shortbow ))
  898. Arte: (( m ))
  899. Haretsu: (( Does Crossbow have increased- er, shortbow- aw ))
  900. Haretsu: (( EITHER WAY, full attack action rape time ))
  901. Arte: Good enough! « 1d20+4+2 = 2 + 4 + 2 = 8 »
  902. Arte: *bad enough*
  903. Brush Thylacine: fuck off negroe
  904. Siegfried: « 1d20+3+2 = 8 + 3 + 2 = 13 » « 1d20+3+2 = 1 + 3 + 2 = 6 » « 1d20+3+2 = 13 + 3 + 2 = 18 » You sons of bitches
  905. Siegfried: god
  906. Siegfried: whatever
  907. Brush Thylacine: well at least you got one scratch in
  908. Siegfried: « 1d6+3 = 6 + 3 = 9 »
  909. Haretsu: (( yfw 18's a mis- maxdamagenaisu ))
  910. Brush Thylacine: haha still up gaylord
  911. Haretsu: (( what is the AC then, now that we've hit ))
  912. Haretsu: (( gotcha ))
  913. Brush Thylacine: what it diz
  914. Arte: Hit it! I mean, damn!
  915. Tarron: « 1d20+1+1 = 3 + 1 + 1 = 5 » no
  916. Brush Thylacine: ya damn right on that
  917. Haretsu: « 1d20+4 = 2 + 4 = 6 » If this doesn't hit I'll just switch it up to the bombs
  918. Tarron: (( mmmmm ))
  919. Brush Thylacine: better rev up dose bombs
  920. Haretsu: *draws Bomb Admixture thing*
  921. Haretsu: *can't drink yet*
  922. Brush Thylacine: « 1d20+5 = 11 + 5 = 16 » I'm still eatin ya lion
  923. Tarron: (( you can't drink it next turn either sadly ))
  924. Tarron: (( or you can ))
  925. Tarron: (( but can't bomb that tunr ))
  926. Haretsu: (( It's a move action ))
  927. Haretsu: (( for me ))
  928. Siegfried: (( no, that's only for POTIONS ))
  929. Siegfried: (( not Extracts ))
  930. Haretsu: (( That makes less than zero sense. ))
  931. Arte: (( It might work, I haven't looked it up ))
  932. Arte: « 1d20+4+2 = 1 + 4 + 2 = 7 » That's it, let's end this!
  933. Arte: *let's not*
  934. Siegfried: « 1d20+3+2 = 14 + 3 + 2 = 19 » « 1d20+3+2 = 11 + 3 + 2 = 16 » « 1d20+3+2 = 7 + 3 + 2 = 12 » YOU PEOPLE.
  935. Siegfried: « 1d4+3 = 1 + 3 = 4 » « 1d6+3 = 1 + 3 = 4 » YOU PEOPLE.
  936. Siegfried: ME PEOPLE.
  937. Brush Thylacine: haha still up faget
  938. Siegfried: I ASSUME IT STILL HAS ONE HP.
  939. Brush Thylacine: imma eacha
  940. Siegfried: GOD.
  941. Siegfried: DAMMIT.
  942. Tarron: « 1d20+1+1 = 5 + 1 + 1 = 7 » *PLS CRIT*
  943. Tarron: *NO*
  944. Tarron: I should stick to spells, maybe?
  945. Arte: This is the most annoying woodland wildlife I have ever been up against!
  946. Haretsu: And I should stick to what I know best. *since... yeah, apparently drinking an extract is ENTIRELY DIFFERENT than drinking a potion*
  947. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+5 = 14 + 5 = 19 » "Hold your horses, let me finish this once and for all."
  948. Haretsu: *just throws - right him*
  949. Lightkeeper: « 1d6+1 = 6 + 1 = 7 » "Was that so hard?"
  950. Brush Thylacine: Haha still up fag- oh wait no I'm not, bleck
  951. Brush Thylacine: 150+100 exploration exp
  952. Haretsu: Note on the map: Hostile wildlife.
  953. Haretsu: ...hostile, incredibly difficult to handle, wildlife.
  954. Lightkeeper: "Indeed. So I take this should make a reasonable campsite, no?"
  955. Haretsu: (( Why in the hell DID they make it so that Accelerated Drinker specifically doesn't affect extracts ))
  956. Haretsu: (( which are "spells in potion form" ))
  957. Haretsu: (( I thought that's what potions were ))
  958. Haretsu: (( spells in liquid form ))
  959. Haretsu: (( so extracts are spells in form of spells in liquid form ))
  960. Haretsu: (( and it is this extra length of definition which prevents them from being rapidly drank ))
  961. Haretsu: (( makes sense ))
  962. Arte: (( it's more that that would effectively be quickening the spell ))
  963. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+8 = 16 + 8 = 24 » welp, any value to thylacine hide, may as well check => Invalid expression: « 1d20+8 = 16 + 8 = 24 » welp, any value to thylacine hide, may as well check.
  964. Arte: (( Only a MOVE action instead of the Swift that quicken gives, but still absurdly powerful ))
  965. Haretsu: (( I... guess you're right on that, yeah, but AESTHETICALLY it makes no sense ))
  966. You whisper to Agi: Thylacine hide isn't very common nor practical to use at all, and it also smells a lot, so probably not much
  967. Arte: Yeah, I guess so. Let's just hope none of these things come back.
  968. Agi says to the GMs: Gotcha
  969. Arte: (( If it were a FEAT or something, I...guess it wouldn't be as bad if it had prereqs, but as a trait ))
  970. Arte: (( that's far too powerful (HIPPO) ))
  971. Arte: (( just make some potions ))
  972. Haretsu: (( Yeah, I get it, I'm still just concerned for how it makes sense aesthetically. ))
  973. Hendrix: If you wish to stay overnight here, you must make a survival check
  974. Arte: (( With an extract, it's not completely prepared; you still have to add some stuff in when you "use" it ))
  975. Haretsu: (( unless it's because it's tiny-ass vials that are difficult to drink out of, or something ))
  976. Arte: (( So I guess take that as the aesthetic ))
  977. * Thrice rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+7 = 3 + 7 = 10 » => Invalid expression: « 1d20+7 = 3 + 7 = 10 ».
  978. Haretsu: (( I don't think you guys are adding ingredients when I give you an Infused one ))
  979. Haretsu: (( anyway you're the one with survival ))
  980. Arte: (( I already made it ))
  981. Haretsu: (( ah, didn't think it'd be secret ))
  982. Hendrix: You stay overnight with nothing unusual happenning.
  983. Haretsu: *EXCEPT THAT LIGHTKEEPER TURNS INTO A BEAR.*
  984. Haretsu: *also I will brb.*
  985. Hendrix: get yo ass back to the map when you get back
  986. Arte: (( Apparently infusions provoke AoOs when they're drunk or something, like potions and shit, but I dunno, as for aesthetics...maybe extracts are more volatile or something and it takes more specific training to be able to drink them real fastlike ))
  987. Arte: (( no idea ))
  988. Arte: (( but it don't matter much, that's just how it is ))
  989. Arte: (( wait, I thought we were like ))
  990. Arte: (( to the..east of this place ))
  991. Arte: (( Well shit whatever let's just go east ))
  992. Haretsu: (( we were yeah ))
  993. Haretsu: (( and now it's time to go one more eastlike ))
  994. Hendrix: I may or may not have fudged up on location again
  995. Hendrix: so take it how it is « 1d100 = 79 »
  996. Arte: (( We're exploring this hex now I'd assume ))
  997. Hendrix: yep
  998. Arte: (( no #staged encounter? ))
  999. Hendrix: but unfortunately, there is nothing of note here other than free 100 exp

  1015. Arte: (( mfw 4 bears ))

1018. Arte: (( we will have to forbear a hasty rush in (SMIRK) ))
1019. Arte: Nice! These ought to make for some good food.
1020. Haretsu: I think we've hit the jackpot.
1021. Tarron: I do hope so! But I am running out of ammunition...
1022. Arte: It's fine to use your magic. YOu shouldn't need it, though! What's an elk to me and Siegfried?
1023. Haretsu: *digs into own pack* Need to borrow some? I haven't got a whole lot of use out of my crossbow.
1024. Tarron: *well I have twelve right now*
1025. Haretsu: *how many did you even START with*
  1026. Haretsu: *I've got 18 lol&

  1305. Arte: .
1306. Siegfried: *Let's just like, drag these up and make ourselves some elk stew, and also give the donkey the bad news*
1307. Lightkeeper: "Huff huff, mobile little creatures they are."

1309. Elk: sounds like a plan

1311. Donkey: we aren't even close to base, I've been walking all day
1312. Hendrix: to the map we gooo
1313. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
1314. Donkey: *so wait, remind me what direction is south
1315. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  1316. Elk: I dunno man
  1317. Elk: I dunno
1318. Hendrix: you have it reversed, dear sir
1319. Donkey: something stupid like that right
  1320. Donkey: Oh god.
1321. Donkey: It's upside down AND diagonal?
1322. Hendrix: no, just flip it horizontally
  1323. Donkey: Ah
  1324. Donkey: mip
1325. Elk: Ah so East is west and west is east
  1326. Elk: Great
1327. Donkey: *so if we go south from here, we can knock off that river crossing*
1328. Patrick: I thought you said "weast"
  1329. Elk: exactly
1330. Elk: So yeah south it is
  1331. Patrick: « 1d100 = 43 »
1332. Patrick: There is less than nothing of note, except you encounter that goddamn river again
1333. Patrick: it's not about to let you through anytime soon
1334. Elk: Is there a crossing here
1335. Haretsu: *or wait, is it even MORE south*
  1336. Elk: damn
  1337. Patrick: no, not really
1338. Elk: It's apparently more, uh, west
1339. Haretsu: *checks map* Isn't this supposed to be where the crossing is...?
1340. Patrick: It is not where the crossing is at all
1341. Patrick: in fact, the crossing is (allegedly, according to that brat) here
  1342. Arte: (( ah ))
1343. Haretsu: *then I'll redact that statement*
1344. Arte: Looks as if we have to double back now.
1345. Haretsu: *totally thought he meant south from Nettles, as that's the only thing we TOLD him about, I think*
  1346. Haretsu: *but hey*
1347. Arte: (( No, we talked about that rickety bridge ))
  1348. Arte: (( lol ))
1349. Haretsu: Well, at least we got this chunk of the map chartered off.
1350. Haretsu: *charted, scouted out, whatever
1351. Arte: *Right +100 Exp for that if no staged encounter&
1352. Patrick: yep you got that right
1353. Lightkeeper: "Impasses, impasses all about us~"
1354. Haretsu: (( Back the way we came, or should we say hello to our friend Nettles? ))
1355. Tarron: Let us examine the shallow water the boy spoke of, shall we?
  1356. Tarron: « 1d100 = 80 » no
1357. Hendrix: The crossing looks about the same as you left it, with the bridge still left a barely hanging rope.
1358. Haretsu: He hasn't bothered to recreate the illusion...?
1359. Arte: He probably will whenever a bandit rings the bell. But for now, this is fine. If those others come to check it out, they'll see the bridge gone and not suspect us...though it's been a long time since then.
1360. Haretsu: They might suspect that we didn't come back to take the rest of their offer.
1361. Tarron: If only the bandits had a means of dispelling this illusion themselves! My, I pity them.
1362. Arte: They won't care, probably. To them, it seems as if we got rid of the bridge and saved them money.
1363. Arte: Let them come if they feel they must. They won't last long...
1364. Haretsu: I suppose. They may not've been in that area anyway, just hoping to get out of paying the extra half.
1365. Arte: *well, let's move on to the treeplace*
  1366. Arte: *Hundred Acre Wood*
  1367. Haretsu: « 1d100 = 94 » maitern
  1368. Haretsu: yeah we good
1369. Haretsu: *no need to explore, for once*
1370. Haretsu: *or well, for twice*
1371. Hendrix: The old Sycamore is still where it once was. It doesn't seem like there's any mites frolicking about at the moment.
  1372. Haretsu: *I'd HOPE it's still there*
  1373. Haretsu: *I don't think we're capable of fighting a great ent*
1374. Hendrix: also, you can still enter half the hex to the south without needing to cross the river
1375. Haretsu: *yeah we totally just marking the place on the map*
1376. Arte: (( Well should we go west or south ))
1377. Haretsu: *uh wait, yeah, west*
  1378. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 63 »
1379. Arte: « 1d100 = 83 » and we gotta asplore even if not staged encounter
1380. Hendrix: You come across the fabled river crossing. The Thorn River grows unusually shallow here just before it empties into the Shrike. The resulting ford is never deeper than 3 feet.
1381. Haretsu: *we do? Figured we were just following the river and marking the spot to get to it more quicklike*
1382. Arte: (( You gotta explore to find these places ))
  1383. Arte: (( in general ))
1384. Hendrix: you only need not explore for landmarks
1385. Hendrix: which the river crossing is not
  1386. Haretsu: (( well a'ight ))
1387. Arte: Guess the kid wasn't lying after all.
1388. Hendrix: thas annother hunnid bux
1389. Haretsu: I hoped he wasn't mistaken! This is good to know.
1390. Tarron: *Shit I still haven't met the slutfairy, guess I'll have to do that after I hit level 3 for real*
1391. Haretsu: ...though if the river's prone to flooding...
1392. Arte: Then we'll just have to come here when it isn't, now won't we?
1393. Haretsu: *can I like, check the banks of the river, see how high the water level goes in the off season*
1394. Haretsu: *or the high season*
  1395. Haretsu: *whatever it's called*
1396. Haretsu: *on second thought that probably ain't in the book, but who knows*
1397. Hendrix: It doesn't seem to be seasonal at all, it just sorta is
  1398. Tarron: (( This is a deciduous forest, not a tropical one (D) ))
1399. Haretsu: Year round, even better.
1400. Tarron: (( There IS no rainy season ))
  1401. Haretsu: (( Hey man, I live near rivers (D) ))
  1402. Haretsu: (( They fluctuate (D) ))
  1403. Tarron: (( after rains, yes ))
1404. Tarron: (( but there's no "rainy season" it just rains sometimes. ))
1405. Haretsu: (( Typically in the spring, when there's runoff from the melting snowbank on the mountains ))
  1406. Arte: (( We ain't in Issia ))
1407. Arte: (( Or whatever your hometown is kitty-cat ))
1408. Arte: No need to cross yet. Let's start our way back, for now. Missing a spot on the map around there.
  1409. Haretsu: (( Issia, yes (D) ))
1410. Haretsu: (( My apologies for having Knowledge (Nature) (D) ))
1411. Arte: *Course we COULD go southeast if anyone wants to*
1412. Haretsu: *naw I am seriously running low on food*
1413. Arte: *No, you are not*
1414. Haretsu: *by which I mean I had two days of rations three days ago*
1415. Arte: *We just fucking got three elk*
1416. Arte: *You're fucking fine for weeks*
1417. Lightkeeper: "Oh, are we really going to turn back so easily? What a shame. Who knows what could lie beyond here, teehee..."
1418. Haretsu: *do you have salt*
1419. Arte: *Cook it, or dry it*
1420. Arte: *and uh, yeah, I think so*
1421. Siegfried: This kit contains an iron pot, an iron skillet, a ladle, a skewer, a wooden cutting board, a cutting knife, an iron tripod for the pot, a packet of tinder, and a small selection of local or otherwise easy to find seasonings.
1422. Siegfried: Yeah, yeah I do.
1423. Haretsu: Well, this is all we set out to explore... it's been nearly a week since we set out, so we're right on schedule. We need to check back in, anyway.
  1424. Haretsu: (( I don't think "a small selection" is enough to preserve three elk (D) ))
1425. Arte: (( We don't need to preserve them forever man, you just don't need to worry about rations for a few days ))
1426. Arte: (( Take my word for it ))
1427. Arte: We can come right back here after we let them know we're still breathing. Going to be a few days before we get back anyways
  1428. Arte: .
1429. Haretsu: Shame we didn't find that... bear shrine, or whatever he was calling it.
1430. Tarron: Oh, no worries! It is probably further south, is all! We may find it after crossing the river.
1431. Tarron: *but yeah, NW, then E to that unchecked hex*
  1432. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 30 » hmmm...
1433. Tarron: (( and now we must asplore again ))
  1434. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 92 » hmmmm
1435. Hendrix: A particularly rocky crag rises from the hills here. And now perception check.
  1436. Tarron: « 1d20+9 = 18 + 9 = 27 »
  1437. Haretsu: « 1d20+4 = 14 + 4 = 18 » Aha, ahaha
  1438. Arte: « 1d20 = 3 » don't you take on me boy
  1439. Siegfried: « 1d20+5 = 19 + 5 = 24 » m
  1440. Tarron: (EYE)
1441. Hendrix: Tarron discovers that at the crag's base is an overgrown 5 foot wide crack. Dare you see where it leads?
1442. Tarron: *Of course* My! What is this! *let's dare to see where it leads*
1443. Haretsu: (( Tarron just RUSHES RIGHT ON ))
1444. Tarron: *guess I'll cast Light on a bolt or something if it's dark/I can't see*
1445. Hendrix: Down the crack is a large, dark cave, about 30 feet in diameter.
1446. Hendrix: The cave wall directly across from the entrance sparkles slightly
1447. Haretsu: (( DOES IT SPARKLE IN THE SHAPE OF A BEAR ))
1448. Hendrix: And now either appraise or knowledge dungeoneering check to tell exactly what this yellow sparkly stuff is
1449. Tarron: Oh! How alluring! *Yeah I got neither of those* Um, can someone assist me in here?
  1450. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+8 = 1 + 8 = 9 » Pff, and they told me not to get appraise => Invalid expression: « 1d20+8 = 1 + 8 = 9 » Pff, and they told me not to get appraise.
  1451. Haretsu: *rolled so*
1452. Arte: *guess we all went in off camera*
1453. Arte: *LK might have dungeoneering*
1454. You whisper to Agi: nope sorry, you have no idea what this yellow sparkly stuff is at all
1455. Haretsu: *can lion lionel even get in
1456. Lightkeeper: *Like hell I do*
1457. Haretsu: *walks in, keeps mouth shut in regards to whatever the hell that is*
1458. Haretsu: *I swear if this is gold*
1459. Haretsu: *I might be a bit pi- you know what*
  1460. Haretsu: *fuck it*
1461. Tarron: (( oh wait appraise is untrained ))
1462. Haretsu: *we have hero points, I want to know what this is (D)*
  1463. * Thrice rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+2 = 2 + 2 = 4 » => Invalid expression: « 1d20+2 = 2 + 2 = 4 ».
1464. Haretsu: *I'll spend one to reroll (D)*
  1465. Talking to yourself again?
  1466. * Thrice rolls secretly to you: « 1d20-3 = 10 - 3 = 7 » => Invalid expression: « 1d20-3 = 10 - 3 = 7 ».
1467. Siegfried: AT YOUR REQUEST, AGI
1468. Siegfried: I HAVE MADE AN APPRAISE CHECK
  1469. Hendrix: fuck you maptool
1470. Hendrix: why won't you let me talk to myself
1471. Haretsu: (( Oh, you all are rolling too ))
  1472. Haretsu: (( okay ))
1473. Haretsu: (( I'll hold off on spending it then ))
  1474. * Thrice rolls secretly to you: « 1d20 = 10 » may as goddamn well => Invalid expression: « 1d20 = 10 » may as goddamn well.
1475. Hendrix: Anyway, you figure out that this mysterious gold-colored vein of gold is in fact gold.
1476. Hendrix: yes, it took one of Agi's hero points to find this out
1477. Hendrix: because your rolls suck
  1478. Tarron: (( hippo ))
  1479. Haretsu: (( But I didn't even roll ))
  1480. Tarron: (( you can add a +4 to a roll ))
  1481. Tarron: (( After you've already rolled it ))
1482. Haretsu: (( well if the +4 gave it then I'll take it ))
  1483. Tarron: (( or a +8 before you roll ))
  1484. Haretsu: (( hero point isn't auto-win, if that's what you thought, Tirk ))
  1485. Haretsu: (( lol ))
  1486. Hendrix: well I don't care
  1487. Haretsu: *HERO POINT EXPENDED*
  1488. Haretsu: *WORTH IT*
1489. Hendrix: it may as well be for something this fucking stupid
  1490. Haretsu: *GOLD*
1491. Hendrix: which is randomy DC20
  1492. Haretsu: (( hippo ))
1493. Haretsu: *grin spreads* Yep, that's what it looks like alright...!
  1494. Donkey: aw maan
  1495. Donkey: gold is heavy
  1496. Donkey: fuck you guys
1497. Arte: Well that's great, but...how do we get it OUT of here? I didn't bring a pickaxe.
1498. Haretsu: *CHECKS SUPPLY LIST, WHAT'D I EVEN BRING THAT MIGHT BE USEFUL*
  1499. Arte: *I have like...a razor*
1500. Hendrix: Now, now, mining for gold isn't as easy as you'd think
1501. Arte: *and uh, we have elk bones, might could use them*
1502. Hendrix: in order to mine of the gold, you have to- this procedure is detailed in Pathfinder Adventure Path volume #32 now available for only 14.99 USD at Paizo.com
1503. Haretsu: *MAN, I PLAYED MINECRAFT. JUST LIKE, JUMP OUTSIDE, PUNCH A TREE, MAKE A WORKBENCH, MAKE A WOOD PICKAXE, GET SOME STONE, MAKE A -STONE- PICKAXE, THEN GET THE GOLD (D)*
1504. Haretsu: As much as it PAINS me to turn my back on this... we are heading back into town, and we can hope they have something there to get the job done....
1505. Lightkeeper: "We are indeed woefully understocked for this kind of work. Better hope nobody else finds it, teehee."
1506. Arte: Well, we can work on a bone pickaxe or something in the meantime. We'll come back here as soon as possible. Which is in a day or so...cover up the entrance.
  1507. Haretsu: (( GOLD'S SOFT, RIGHT ))
  1508. Arte: (( Very, yes ))
1509. Haretsu: (( JUST LIKE, PULL IT OUT OF THE WALL ))
  1510. Haretsu: (( WITH YOUR BEAR HANDS (D) ))
  1511. Arte: (( YOu can cut it with a kni--YOU CAN'T DO THAT (D) ))
  1512. Haretsu: (( TOTALLY CAN (D) ))
1513. Haretsu: (( AND YES, BEAR WAS INTENTIONAL (D) ))
1514. Hendrix: GOLD DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY
1515. Haretsu: *MAYBE IT DOES IF I ENLARGE PERSON ON ARTE (D)*
1516. Haretsu: *THEN HAVE HIM PRY IT OUT WITH HIS LANCE (D)*
1517. Arte: *WE CAN COME BACK IN A DAY OR TWO*
1518. Arte: *THE GOLD HASN'T BEEN DISCOVERED -YET- WE'LL BE FIEN*
1519. Haretsu: *HEY SEE, THERE'S THIS THING, WHERE ALCHEMISTS? YEAH. GOLD IS A BIG DEAL TO THEM.*
1520. Tarron: *I can even cover it up from behind, so nobody can see it was tampered with*
  1521. Tarron: *Because Mage Hand*
1522. Tarron: *we get 100 Exp from exploring the place anyhow, 50 away from level 3*
1523. Haretsu: *oh shit did I miss something somewhere*
1524. Haretsu: *I'm at 4750 before the bonus*
1525. Tarron: (( Yeah, probably the crossing and the non-elk place ))
1526. Tarron: (( Or the elk place, one of the two ))
1527. Haretsu: *well whatever got it now*
  1528. Tarron: (( as we've explored 7 this session ))
  1529. Tarron: (( it's just a smile ))
  1530. Tarron: (( instead of a check mark ))
  1531. Tarron: (( probably ))
1532. Haretsu: Let's grab some more radishes on the way back, Oleg should be pleased.
1533. Tarron: Really now? That is fine with me!
  1534. Tarron: « 1d100 = 65 » 1ddeath
  1535. Balrogvan!: « 1d100 = 70 » extra deth
1536. Tarron: (( Pretty sure we DID explore this place though ))
1537. Haretsu: (( well yeah, we did ))
  1538. Tarron: (( just didn't have a check mark ))
  1539. Tarron: (( so no sperience ))
1540. Haretsu: (( I think we can pretty easily grab sommademradishes though ))
  1541. Hendrix: It's been checked
  1542. Tarron: (( oh it's another smile ))
1543. Hendrix: You head over to the radish patch kids and pick up sommadat radishes
  1544. Tarron: (( « 1d100 = 61 » And now to Oleg's ))
  1545. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 46 » stop taking my job
  1546. Haretsu: « 1d100 = 32 » no
1547. Tarron: *anythin special hapnin at Leggy's*
1548. Tarron: *or can we drop off the radishes, see if he has a pickaxe or something, and go get some spanish football announcer yell+d*
1549. Hendrix: You head on back over at old Oleg's and deliver another supply of fresh yummy radishes.
1550. Haretsu: *right, elk hides to sell too*
  1551. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+8 = 20 + 8 = 28 » which I totally failed to appraise => Invalid expression: « 1d20+8 = 20 + 8 = 28 » which I totally failed to appraise.
  1552. Hendrix: « 1d2 = 2 » 2 and he has a pickaxe somewhere
  1553. Haretsu: *sweet*
1554. Tarron: *huh, right, what's Ravenclaw doing*
1555. Hendrix: Oleg hands you over a pickaxe he rummaged through from another shipment, though he wonders how you can properly mine out a substatantial amout of material without building a proper mine first.
1556. Tarron: *He just standin over there*
1557. Tokens dropped onto map 'OlegsTradingPost'
1558. Tokens dropped onto map 'OlegsTradingPost'
1559. Haretsu: *fuck's there to building a proper mine*
1560. Haretsu: *you just need a workbench, a forge, and a chest (D)*
1561. Haretsu: *everyone knows that (D)*
  1562. Arte: *where go*
1563. Ravenclaw: "So uh, don't tell anyone else this, but the other day a bear stopped on by when everyone but us three were asleep. Thought we were dead meat, but it's surprising just how well Eldrich gets along with bears here. The thing was like a big old kitten with him around. Then it just up and left the next day. Man, that was freaking scary."
1564. Ravenclaw: "You dont't think he's like, a secret bear cleric in disguide, do you?"
1565. Tarron: *oh well aight I was just asking what he was doing but sure I can talk to him*
  1566. Ravenclaw: *disguise
1567. Haretsu: (( Eldrich secretly has 15 ranks in Bear Lore ))
  1568. Tarron: (( more Handle Animal ))
  1569. Tarron: (( probably nat 20'd his roll ))
1570. Haretsu: (( naw man, he intrinsically knows their culture in and out ))
1571. Haretsu: (( They were just talking about the latest episode of Bearfeld ))
1572. Tarron: Bears! My, there certainly are many of them around even still! It's nice to hear that not all of them are violent.
1573. Arte: *Guess I'll be talking to Oleg* You know...*looks at the towers* If those guys run out of work, you could set them to fixing up those catapults. They might be handy in case something comes around.
1574. Oleg: "Been tryin' to, but I'm fairly certain they're now in bigger disrepair than they once were before."
1575. Haretsu: *suppose it wouldn't hurt to talk to spoons*
  1576. Haretsu: *psst*
1577. Spoony Davis: "Huh?! Oh, it's just the doggy man! How's it been shaking, haven't seen you guys in a week!"
1578. Arte: Ahhh...Well, maybe we can find someone to. The guards might offer to, if they get really bored.
1579. Spoony Davis: "Man, you won't BELIEVE what went on while you were gone!"
1580. Haretsu: Hah, we've been out and about, covered a huge chunk of that map of ours. What went on...? Well, I had something I wanted to ask you about, but it can wait. Go on?
1581. Spoony Davis: "Man, I had thought everyone at the encampment forgot about us, but to my surprise, they gave us a letter via carrier pigeon!"
1582. Haretsu: ...really now! From your, well, former employers?
1583. Spoony Davis: "They gave us three a special letter (I'm not allowed to show you what was in it apparently), but they gave you guys a special surprise letter too!"
1584. Spoony Davis: "Here, I haven't opened it yet."
1585. Haretsu: ...a letter for us?
1586. Haretsu: ...*takes letter curiously, turns over in hands, MAY AS WELL SPELLCRAFT TO SEE IF I CAN FIND EXPLOSIVE RUNES, KINDA WISH I KNEW TARRON HAD DETECT MAGIC RIGHT NOW*
  1587. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+9 = 13 + 9 = 22 » we so dead => Invalid expression: « 1d20+9 = 13 + 9 = 22 » we so dead.
1588. Hendrix: Doesn't seem to be anything unsoosual on it.
1589. Haretsu: *breaks seal, opens, reads*
1590. Arte: (( they just stuffed a tiny messenger man in there ))
  1591. Haretsu: (( or a tiny seal ))
  1592. Haretsu: (( which I have now broken ))
1593. Haretsu: (( explaining the lack of message ))
  1594. Hendrix: Sorry, garbage
  1595. Hendrix: anyway
1596. Hendrix: It reads "Dear precious acquaintances; Hello there, hopefully this letter has reached proper hands. We have noticed that there has been a bit of a fallout in our deal that we reached a while before. Now, now, before you get into a panic, we members of the Stag Lord's tribe are far more intrellectual than to immediately assume you are out to threaten us as a whole, but an agreement is an agreement, and we wish to see that to the end. To make up for wasted time, we are requesting a payment of either 2000 Gold Pieces (these costs add up, you see), or the final removal of the skeleton at Nettle's Crossing (Though you will still need to pay 500GP for various damages.) Failure to comply with these demands will result in a peaceful solution as detailed on the back of this paper. (cont. on back)"
  1597. Haretsu: *flips to back. . .*
1598. Arte: *crayon drawing of hatchets in your face*
1599. Hendrix: the back of this paper is a crudely drawn diagram written in blood depicting a girl in a hood performing various dismemberments and atrocities to the party, including roasting the lion on a stake and using the fox as stuffing.
1600. Hendrix: -Sincerely, Hunny (winking face)
  1601. Hendrix: *""
1602. Haretsu: *what does the paper smell like*
1603. Hendrix: Like regular stationary aside from all the blood
1604. Haretsu: *aw, I thought she might've gone the extra mile*
1605. Haretsu: ...I see. Thank you for passing on the message. *puts letter back into envelope, reseals, better PUT THAT POKER FACE ON*
1606. Hendrix: Oh, and on the bottom is a crude map detailing the location of the new dealing place.
1607. Haretsu: *oh where's that on the map*
1608. Balrogvan!: consider it marked on the map
  1609. Haretsu: *well, uh, damn.*
  1610. Haretsu: *they're gettin' closer*
1611. Haretsu: ...er... anyway, on to what I wanted to ask you about. You may remember last time we were here, Ravenclaw's birthday?
1612. Oleg: "Egh, may as well just get -me- on it at this rate. At least I know how to fix shit at all, period."
1613. Spoony Davis: "Yeah, that was like, a week ago, wasn't it? What about it?"
1614. Spoony Davis: "Man, I got SO SMASHED, I can hardly remember anything about it! Everyone I went totally nutso!"
  1615. Haretsu: (( *said I went? ))
1616. Spoony Davis: *Everyone tells me
  1617. Haretsu: (( ah ))
1618. Haretsu: Nutso's one word for it, yes... You seriously don't remember anything, anything at all?
1619. Arte: I'd offer to help, but we're not planning on staying in the area much longer.
1620. Spoony Davis: Davis taps his foot while concentrating a bit. "Not at all! Man, when Dave parties, he parties HARD! If only I could remember any of it!"
1621. Haretsu: I MIGHT be able to help you do that. Some of it. Not now, but later tonight. ...outside the post, if possible.
1622. Spoony Davis: "Sounds cool bro! Catch ya then!"
1623. Haretsu: Will do. (I've been NEEDING a test subject.)
1624. Arte: (( and you're noit going to try to find out what was in HIS letter ))
  1625. Haretsu: (( I ain't have diplomacy (D) ))
1626. Haretsu: (( I might be able to if I have to knock him out. ))
  1627. Haretsu: (( Which I HOPE I won't ))
1628. Haretsu: (( but a Str mutagen coupled with Enlarge Person should make that plenty possible ))
1629. Haretsu: *anyway, back to the party then*
1630. Hendrix: You are indeed back to the party
1631. Haretsu: I went and talked to Davis. No long-term effects to his health, at least.
1632. Haretsu: He also had a letter from his bandit friends.
1633. Tarron: Oh? You didn't happen to be expecting any, did you? @effects
1634. Haretsu: No, but I wasn't expecting that reaction either.
1635. Haretsu: Either way, in addition to HIS letter, he had one for us. From "Hunny."
1636. Arte: What'd the letters say?
1637. Arte: Thanking us for taking out skeleton jack, I hope?
1638. Haretsu: His, I've no idea. Ours... ha, far from it, let me just pull it out here. *welp*
1639. Haretsu: *hands it off to Arte*
1640. Haretsu: I found the illustrations - flip it over, on the back - to be helpful. She's not a half-bad artist.
1641. Arte: You didn't ask him? You'd think we'd be privy to that. *reads* Damn it! How'd they find out? The "bridge" was still gone...
1642. Haretsu: They said they'd know if we backed out... could've tracked us, and watched our whole conversation with Nettles.
1643. Arte: ...I don't know. I guess with you three and Siegfried, it wouldn't be hard to trace the tracks.
1644. Haretsu: What matters is that they do know, and we need to decide how to respond
  1645. Haretsu: .
1646. Tarron: My, my, they certainly are a bold group! The same could be said of us, walking out on them like that.
1647. Arte: I say we find out just what THEIR letter said, before deciding on anything.
1648. Siegfried: Anyone remember that one singing guy
  1649. Siegfried: Fuck'd he go
1650. Haretsu: I didn't think to ask it of him at the time... though I COULD do so later tonight when we meet up again.
1651. Haretsu: Unless one of you wants to try it now.
1652. Arte: *so you ARE a woman*
1653. Lightkeeper: y'know, I was looking for him too
1654. Lightkeeper: until I realized I never placed him
  1655. Lightkeeper: top lel
1656. Haretsu: *well, I am meeting him at a private place at night to make him grow*
  1657. Haretsu: *so I dunno*
1658. Tarron: My! I do think we will be fine...
1659. Tarron: (( and you're going to try to get information out of him too ))
  1660. Haretsu: (( maybe ))
1661. Hendrix: But just -how- will they get information out of this sucker?
1662. Tokens dropped onto map 'OlegsTradingPost'
  1663. Haretsu!Combat: Easily
1664. Haretsu!Combat: Str mutagen and Enlarge Person on myself
1665. Hendrix: All these questions and more will be answered on tomorrow's exciting episode
1666. Hendrix: because yeah, we're ending it here niggas
  1667. Haretsu!Combat: A'ight
1668. Haretsu!Combat: (chew)'s probably going to be a new member of Hunny's troupe then or somethin
1669. Hendrix: In which I shall railroad you into my meticulously crafted method of introducing the new character
1670. Hendrix: because that has worked so well in the past before
1671. Tarron: Well it is perfectly plausible that we don't at all go to see Hunny
1672. Haretsu!Combat: Probably ain't even necessary to show my thing on-camera, much less as it'd be starting off a session
1673. Hendrix: Don't worry, it's comign either way (scb)
1674. Tarron: if only we could get that extra 50 Exp
1675. Haretsu!Combat: Either the mutagen works as it should and that's good news to me
1676. Tarron: Which uh, actually I guess it can
1677. Haretsu!Combat: or it does not work as it should and I get a level and I get the level guaranteed (D)
  1678. Haretsu!Combat: er
1679. Haretsu!Combat: *get a level and I get the letter
1680. Tarron: Wait what mutagen, I don't think you can use those on others
