(5:48:09 AM) M499k: A stone's throw from the old school building of the Saint Knight Academy, there are three dormitories - unmaginatively called the first, second and third. While of different age and capacity, they're all plain buildings compared to the castle-like school itself. The rooms are all of roughly equal size, and there are small shared kitchen areas for student use, as well as a larger shared cafeteria
(5:48:09 AM) M499k: on the bottom floor of the third dormitory.
(5:49:42 AM) M499k: As it happens, you both live in the third dormitory building, on the ground floor - rooms 4 and 13, respectively - but tonight, you've been asked to keep an eye on the first dormitory - it's closest to the wall separating the school grounds from the city, and also the site of almost all the recent strange sightings.
(5:51:40 AM) M499k: There's a small square of sorts right in between the three dormitory buildings - all entrances face it, and a few benches have been placed in the shade of a large tree.
(5:52:26 AM) ***Iona is currently lying down on one of the benches.
(5:54:32 AM) M499k: As it's already well after dinner, there are only a few students about - most returning to the first and second dormitories from the cafeteria. Some remain outside for a time, enjoying the cooler evening air after the unseasonally warm autumn day.
(5:54:57 AM) ***Jetta_Grunstein is, sure enough, pacing around, peeking around every corner like the spooks are going to be RIGHT THERE.
(5:55:14 AM) Jetta_Grunstein: But, as she is known to take evening walks sometimes, it shouldn't look TOO suspicious.
(5:55:41 AM) ***Iona is instead just lying down and munching left overs from dinner. For a girl that lean, she eats a damn lot.
(5:56:12 AM) M499k: Your new... captain?, Maria Saveiro, shows up fairly soon, raising a hand in greeting as she makes her way over from dorm three.
(5:56:39 AM) ***Iona waves, her mouth currently full of pastry.
(5:56:46 AM) ***Jetta_Grunstein shoots her hand up into the air to wave. "Heeey!"
(5:57:09 AM) M499k: She's still wearing her school uniform, which actually matches her light grey hair almost perfectly, and she smiles slightly.
(5:58:33 AM) M499k: "Thank you, again. We've been trying to keep watch with just the two of us, but covering all night with just the two of us is a bit, well, impossible."
(5:58:46 AM) Iona: "Mrphm!" Iona, image of a dignified belkan lady.
(6:00:16 AM) Jetta_Grunstein: "Hey, no problem." she stops to talk, but still bounces on her heels a little. "I'm happy to help, and if this thing actually exists I wanna see it."
(6:00:49 AM) M499k: "I'm afraid it'll just be the two of you, though. I met Miss Fu... Fukushiko, on the way, and she apparently had to be back in her room before the safety sensors were tripped."
(6:01:44 AM) ***Iona gulps down the pasty. "Well, I'm here. Can't say I really do much keeping watch but I"m here to help." She smirks.
(6:03:51 AM) M499k: "...um, I'm sorry about that line. Still! Should we take a look- ah, I mean, visit the places where it was seen, before I try to catch some sleep?"
(6:05:40 AM) Jetta_Grunstein: "Yeah, sure."
(6:06:25 AM) Iona: "Alright." She stands up. pocketing the now empty bag of pastries.
(6:06:40 AM) M499k: "Right, good! Just around here-"
(6:07:25 AM) M499k: Maria walks off along the side of the first dormitory, turning the corner.
(6:09:51 AM) ***Iona follows, smiling.
(6:10:09 AM) ***Jetta_Grunstein follows her quickly, and, in the moment, she takes off her hairband, holds her hair with the other hand, then puts it back on to recapture a few unintentionally loose strands of hair.
(6:11:48 AM) M499k: After rounding two corners, you're on the fairly narrow lawn separating the back of the dormitory from the school wall - it's too tall for most students to jump, but just about anyone could climb over it if they really wanted to.

(6:13:01 AM) M499k: Maria halts, and points up at a small window on the third, second highest, floor - "That's the third floor laundry room, right next to the showers - two of my classmates saw it from there."
(6:14:10 AM) ***Jetta_Grunstein narrows her eyes and ponders with her hand on her chin. "You know, I never tried jumping that wall, I wonder just how hard I'd have to try..."
(6:14:31 AM) Jetta_Grunstein: She then turns to look where Maria is pointing. "Huh? Oh, there. Yeah that's pretty high up."
(6:15:39 AM) M499k: Maria nods. "Yup. It had wings, and they said it was just sort of flapping along just outside the windows - but it flew away when it saw them looking."
(6:16:05 AM) M499k: "Another girl saw it from right here" - she indicates a window on the ground floor, one you could almost reach - "lurking on the ground next to the wall. By the time she'd gotten a friend to come look, it was gone, though."
(6:17:04 AM) Iona: "Interesting..." She nods
(6:17:28 AM) M499k: "My room's over there" - she points again, this time to the furthest window on the second floor - "and I think I saw something red out in the darkness three or four days back."
(6:17:55 AM) M499k: "I couldn't get a proper bead on it, though, and there's no sign I ever hit it..."
(6:19:46 AM) Iona: "...was that the night I heard explosions?"
(6:20:09 AM) M499k: "...probably. I just took two shots, though!"
(6:20:23 AM) Jetta_Grunstein: "I thought it was just someone pulling pranks."
(6:20:48 AM) Jetta_Grunstein: "Or someone's RESPONSE to a prank."
(6:21:49 AM) M499k: "...I spent the night after keeping watch out here, but nothing... the first-floor girl saw it the night after, while I was sleeping... and last night, Rui tried watching from the roof. Nothing."
(6:23:07 AM) Iona: "Interesting." Iona focuses, trying to get a feel for any odd magic signatures about.
(6:28:42 AM) ***Iona frowns. "There is an oddness here." She points to a nearby wall. "Something I can't quite identify."
