  9. [nextcol][font=century gothic]It was dark. Whispers filled the air and he stumbled blindly forward, reaching for the source of the sound. How long had he been here? All he knew was that he was searching for something - or was it someone? His fingers brushed against something and he stumbled back, the feeling of cold scales alarming in this black abyss. He struggled to stand and wondered briefly if he would be here forever- fear pounded within his chest like a drum, a reminder of ceremonies long past.
  10. As he sat alone in the blackness, something shuffled near to him, their form etched in silver. It was her. "Naaniibwin." (Stand up) She murmured, offering a hand. He took it and swept her into his arms, her form cold and fragile but visible to him. She smiled at him. "You are lost." She took his hand and pulled him along with her, though the darkness felt suffocating to him. "Ningootaaj," (I'm afraid,) He protested, but she gripped him tighter. "Don't be. Biwijiwshin. (Come with me). I know the way."
  11. She led him through the darkness and to his surprise he found himself more able to see the further she took him. Soon he could make out trees and grass, and he saw in the distance a diverging path. One way led to a massive wall of fire, and he shuddered at the sight of it. "Wenesh iw? (What is it?)" She asked, before following his gaze. "Ah. We're not going that way- it's been too long for both of us, and there are better things ahead."[nextcol]

  26. [nextcol][font=century gothic]She smiled softly at him, taking him down the other path. It was a long journey and they passed by others who spoke briefly with them. Some were laden with many items, others only had a few things. All of them were travelling towards the land they had only heard rumours about. Dibiki gribbed her hand tighter. He couldn't remember the name he had before he had arrived here- only the one he had taken on from his days in the dark. Gazing at his mate, her name eluded him as well, and he blinked in surprise as a single word came to mind. "Nibo." He whispered. Her smile was sad as she looked at him, and she nodded slowly. "Eya' (yes), we both are, my love." She mulled over the word for a moment. "It fits, doesn't it? I can't seem to remember my name before. I suppose... Nibo might work." She sighed softly as they continued down the path.
  27. One thing about death was comforting - he never seemed to tire, even though they had been walking for close to four days now. The sun was setting and he could feel a strange sensation- a lightness in his chest, the desire to rush forward and embrace the unknown. Nibo nudged him and he looked up, shocked. Ahead of them was an archway made of bent oak boughs, and beyond it was a land unlike any other. "We've arrived!" Nibo rejoiced, and Dibiki embraced her before they rushed forward together.
  28. An older couple watched them as they entered together, smiling at the pair as they passed. "Zaagi'idiwag," The older one said, and the younger one laughed softly. "Indigo giinawind."
