- Sword of Mana (Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu)
- Platform: GBA
- Released (d.m.y):
- 29.08.2003 (Japan)
- 01.12.2003 (North America)
- 19.03.2004 (Europe)
- Based on: European version (AGB-AVSP-EUR)
- - I recommend playing GBA games on a DS Lite or a GameCube (using the
- Game Boy Player), although both options have their pros and cons.
- × Handheld consoles are an ergonomic nightmare and should probably
- never be used. However, if you already have joint issues, I suppose
- it doesn't really matter anymore. I myself use a smaller pillow to
- support my back and a stiff, larger pillow to support my arms, so I
- don't have to tilt my head forward.
- × With the Game Boy Player, you don't have to worry about fu*king up
- your body (at least not as much as with a handheld). However, using it
- produces a little input lag which, in extreme cases, can render the
- game essentially unplayable (eg. Puzzle League). You'll also need to
- use something other than a GameCube controller. I use a Hori Game Boy
- Player controller, but those are not cheap. You can also try to find
- an adapter that lets you use a DualShock on the GameCube.
- × In the case of Sword of Mana, the input lag isn't all that big of
- a deal. The main issue is with the combo timing, but you can easily
- learn to compensate.
- - This guide covers the game from the female main character's perspective.
- The game is largely the same regardless of which one you choose. Each
- character gets one exclusive dungeon, one exclusive weapon type, different
- allies, and they wear different types of armor.
- - Check the character guide and choose the class you're going to aim for.
- Make sure you understand how the system works.
- - Weapons and magic gain SP with each hit. The amount equals Exp/5 for
- weapons and Exp/3 for magic.
- - The game only gives you 2 save slots. If you really get into the game,
- you should get a second copy.
- - Due to an unaltered text scrolling speed, getting through dialog is
- a lot slower in the western releases. If you get into speedrunning the
- game, you should get the Japanese version.

- - "Do you know how to use Spirits?" -> 'Yes'
- - "You got that?" -> 'Yes'
- \\\ Topple Outskirts ||
- Initial stats (Girl): 23 HP, 12 MP, 4 Pow, 3 Def, 3 Int, 3 Mnd, 3 Agi
- Default (Girl): Oak Staff, Oak Hat, Oak Robe, Oak Gloves, Oak Sandals
- - You'll start off at Level 1 with presumably 0 xp. You can't see your
- total amount of Experience for some reason nor can you see the exact
- progress of your magic levels or weapon skill levels.
- - Your only weapon at this time is the Oak Staff, which deals blunt
- damage. This is one of the 5 weapons capable of performing a 3-hit combo
- by pressing A during the final frames of the first and second attacks.
- The second attack deals 150% damage and the third 200%. Sounds pretty
- good on paper, but unfortunately, the hit detection is not very cooperative.
- - In case of the staff, you'll notice that the second hit has a habit of
- not registering, giving your opponent a good opportunity to bite you in
- the face. This is unfortunate but should not discourage you from using
- combos. Instead, you should try and position your character so that the
- first hit will miss. If that doesn't seem to work either, you can just
- settle for spamming the first hit.
- × Physical attacks are divided into three categories: slashing, piercing
- ("Jab"), and blunt ("Bash").
- × Critical hits deal double damage.
- × Attacking targets with weapons will build up your, er, "limit gauge"
- or whatever you want to call it. In any case, the gauge requires 30
- points to be full. At first, you'll gain 1 point with each hit, but
- this increases by 1 with every 10 skill levels. Either way, once the
- gauge is full, hold down the A button and release it to execute a
- special attack that has increased range and deals double damage. The
- gauge will not reset unless you actually hit something.
- - You also start off with the elemental spirit of light, Wisp (aka Lumina).
- Once "equipped," each spirit grants you the ability to cast two spells
- with the R button: a support spell (in Wisp's case, Healing Light, one
- of the most important assets you'll find in the entire game) and an
- offensive spell. You can trigger the support spell by quickly tapping
- R, whereas casting the offensive spell requires you to hold R for a
- little while. The offensive spell's behavior changes depending on the
- weapon you have equipped. In case of the Staff, the "magic missile" will
- automatically seek targets, so you don't really have to worry about
- positioning (unlike with most other weapons).
- - You can *only* level up your magic by hitting enemies with the offensive
- spell. The best way to level up your magic is by casting it on bosses.
- You should probably never try leveling it up by casting it on normal
- enemies (unless you're really desperate).
- × Healing Light heals an amount of HP equal to 30 + (Wisp level). Certain
- Fighter and Monk classes and all Sage classes grant an additional bonus
- to this spell.
- × You can slowly recover your MP (5% every 2 seconds) with the "Sitting"
- / crouching ability by holding A + L. Note that you can do this even in
- an area with no enemies.
- - You'll also find the Mana Pendant (Unique, Temp) key item lying around
- somewhere in your inventory.
- - Don't forget that you can quickly close the ring menu by pressing Start.
- If you're in one of the sub-menus, it's always faster than hitting B.
- - The game offers no interface customization whatsoever; you can't change
- the button settings, increase the text scrolling speed, turn off the text
- scrolling sound, or anything along those lines.
- - Once an area has been cleared of enemies, it takes approximately 8
- seconds for another set to spawn. If an item is dropped, the counter
- starts after getting hit by the trap or when the chest disappears should
- you leave it untouched (despawns after about 5 seconds). If there is no
- trap, the counter starts the moment you examine the chest.
- - Throughout the game, you'll occasionally find yourself in situations
- where it's easier to backtrack by switching to your other character.
- Item: Gumdrop \\\ Topple ||
- Item (nc): Barbecued Newt (Unique, Temp)
- Special: Popoi's Notebook
- [Dlg003 - 0:25]. This one plays when you try to take the west exit.
- - > 'To find my mother' + 'Yes'
- - If you don't have 10 Lucre, Niccolo will simply take all you have.
- - Talk to Luke at the General Store to start a fairly easy, yet lengthy
- side quest. All you need to do is talk to some specific NPCs in every town.
- - At night, you can find Blassie the Third staying at the inn. He'll
- offer to buy any Blood Pouches (dropped by Batmos) you may find for 100
- Lucre each.
- - The store has a set of accessories on sale that boost one of your stats
- by 5 points (100 Luc).
- - Talk to the boy in the southeast building and agree to locate his book
- for him (required for the next event).
- Item (nc): Wood Geode (Unique, Temp) \\\ Topple Armory ||
- - The 8 hidden Geodes are almost impossible to detect. You don't actually
- have to examine them, though; you'll pick them up automatically when you
- approach them.
- Items: Angel Grail, Gumdrop \\\ Path to Topple ||
- Default (Boy): Bronze Sword, Bronze Helm, Bronze Armor, Oak Gloves,
- Bronze Boots, Quartz Ring
- [Dlg004 - 0:52]. This one plays when you reach the meadow.
- |
- [Dlg005 - 0:59] (defeat the Chobin Hood)
- |
- [PC: + Boy Lv5]
- - You can deal slashing damage with the Boy's Sword (a weapon the Girl
- will never be able to use). Just like with the staff, the sword's 3-hit
- combo tends to leave you rather vulnerable, with the second hit swinging
- the air more often than not. You should mostly rely on the first attack
- only or try and position yourself so that the third hit is the only one
- that connects (usually powerful enough to kill anything in a single hit
- until the late parts of the game).
- [Dlg006 - 0:09]. This one plays when you reach Topple.
- |
- [PC: - Boy]
- Special: Magic Rope \\\ Topple ||
- [Dlg007 - 0:12]. Return the book to the kid.
- [Dlg008 - 0:26]. Talk to the kid's grandpa and agree to spend the night.
- - You can use the Magic Rope to warp back to the last Goddess Statue
- you've saved at. If you haven't saved yet, it'll take you to the Goddess
- Statue by the cabin.
- - There are many points in the game where a warp point is automatically
- set if previous areas are unavailable. There are also a few occasions
- during which the Magic Rope can't be used at all.
- - There are two people you need to talk to before you can trigger the
- next event at Bogard's cabin:
- 1. The old woman in the street (not found during the night)
- 2. The guy in the northwest building
- - You'll also need to have gotten Popoi's Notebook.
- Special: Jump \\\ Topple Outskirts ||
- [Dlg009 - 1:40]. This one plays when you approach the cottage.
- |
- [PC: + Boy]
- Item: Gumdrop \\\ Path to Cave ||
- Items: Angel Grail, Gumdrop \\\ Batmo Cave ||
- Item (nc): Oak Bow
- - Defeat the 4 Chobin Hoods in the fourth area to obtain the Bow, your
- first weapon capable of dealing piercing damage. You'll need to use it
- in order to get past the Metaball in the next area.
- - This is also the first of 4 weapons that have no combo ability. However,
- unlike the combo weapons, it can hit multiple enemies with a single attack.
- Items: Gumdrop, Gumdrop \\\ Vinquette Vicinity ||
- Item (nc): Cactus Essence (Unique)
- - From now on, there's a chance you'll be running into Niccolo in certain
- areas. The wares he's carrying include various healing items along with an
- accessory called Belle Bell that doubles the amount of Exp you gain from
- enemies killed by the character wearing it (affects both characters). This
- one comes with a price tag of 10 000 Lucre, though, so it'll take a while
- before you can afford it. For now, you should just settle for a few Magic
- Walnuts.
- - In order to access his special wares (which include numerous materials
- and the three accessories listed below), you have to buy something from
- him in 251 "sessions." As in, you buy something, exit the shop menu
- completely, then do it again.
- × FlameFlicker (4000 Lucre): Pow & Int +20
- × Cardinal Eye (4000 Lucre): Def & Mnd +20
- × Draupnir (8000 Lucre): All +15
- [Dlg010 - 0:15]. Plays when you approach the pot near the save point.
- - Within the hothouse, you can check the Cactus Diary, grow berries and
- fruit, and, later on, forge weapons and armor.
- - Unlike in LoM, you don't have to talk to Li'l Cactus immediately after
- completing a quest in order to get the diary entry. In fact, you don't
- have to talk to him at all.
- Item: Cicada Earrings \\\ Path to Scaly Lair ||
- Items: Angel Grail, Menos Bronze \\\ Scaly Lair ||
- \\\ Vinquette Vicinity ||
- - You can only enter Vinquette Hall at night.
- [Dlg011 - 0:51]. This one plays when you approach Vinquette Hall.
- Items: Angel Grail, Light Coin, Magic Walnut \\\ Vinquette Hall ||
- Special: Salamander
- Boss: Count Lee
- [Dlg012 - 1:27]. Enter Vinquette Hall.
- [Dlg013 - 0:44]. Enter Isabella's room.
- [Dlg014 - 1:28]. Return to your room.
- |
- [PC: - Boy]
- [Dlg015 - 0:28]. Leave your room.
- - First off, you need to locate Salamander, so you can get past that
- pesky little bug (2 xp, 1 Luc) in the room with the sealed door. Only
- Salamander's magic will work.
- - This will be your first encounter with enemies who are completely
- immune to physical attacks. I suggest you kill a couple of them just
- to get the journal entry, but other than that, you shouldn't bother.
- [Dlg016 - 0:19]. Destroy the Metaball in the fireplace.
- [Dlg017 - 0:44]. This one plays when you reach the room with the coffins.
- |
- [Dlg018 - 0:10] (Defeat the Ivory Butler) (5 xp)
- [Dlg019 - 1:47]. Enter Count Lee's chamber.
- |
- [PC: + Boy]
- |
- [Boss]
- - 10 Exp, 45 Lucre
- - Don't bother trying to level up your magic yet. The earliest bosses
- aren't worth enough xp.
- |
- [Dlg020 - 2:13]
- - Now it's time to head to the Marsh Cave (accessed from Scaly Lair).
- \\\ Marsh Cave ||
- Items: Angel Grail, Small Seed, Angel Grail, Oak Wood,
- Long Seed, Crooked Seed, Oblong Seed, Gumdrop, Angel Grail
- Items (nc): Bronze Flail, Moon Mirror (Unique, Temp)
- Boss: Hydra
- - You can cut the grass to find 'mystery items' (Blink Weed, Fragrant
- Flower, Tone Stone).
- - In one of the areas, you'll find a flight of stairs you can only access
- with your main character. Once you take this path, you'll fall into an
- area with 2 Lizardons and 3 Duck GIs. Defeat them to obtain the Flail -
- apparently, a very sharp flail, as it deals piercing damage. Either way,
- you can use it to pull yourself towards poles and similar objects. It
- can't hit multiple targets.
- [Dlg021 - 0:10]. This one plays when you examine the Moon Mirror.
- |
- [Boss]
- - 15 Exp, 52 Lucre
- |
- [Dlg022 - 0:17]
- Special: Undine \\\ Scaly Lair ||
- [Dlg023 - 0:19]. Approach the spring by the Golden Goddess Statue to
- revive Undine.

- Item: Oblong Seed, \\\ Wendel ||
- Items (nc): Bronze Sickle, 15× Leaflets (Artifact, Temp),
- Silver Knife (Unique, Temp)
- - There are two side-quests here that are only available at this point
- in the game (and one of them triggers two follow-up quests that also
- have limited time windows). You have to complete them before triggering
- the scene at the cathedral.
- [Dlg025 - 0:55]. This one plays on the north side.
- [Dlg026 - 0:34]. Enter the blacksmith's.
- - Talk to Dohmi at the General Store to receive a quest where you have
- to hand out 15 leaflets to various people across town. The main problem
- is that some of these NPCs are only found during a certain time of the
- day. Other than that, there's nothing to it. The time window is not limited.

- the buildings, then Navali at the blacksmith's.
- - Talk to Vega at the inn and agree to find a Glittering Sword for him.
- These are dropped by Pincher Crabs. Complete this quest *now* or you'll
- not only fail the quest but also lose the opportunity to do the two
- follow-up quests later.
- - Talk to Umberto at the inn and take up the job (this one's not available
- later either). Then go to one of the buildings at night to trigger a
- scene with the Guy Who Won't Work. Go talk to Umberto again (he's only
- there during the day) and reply 'yes.' Simply return to the building to
- finish the quest.
- - Talk to Emerilie at the inn and agree to find the kitchen knife. Go
- talk to one of the dwarves at the blacksmith's to hear about Dofar. Go
- talk to Dofar at the inn to get the knife.
- [Dlg027 - 0:17]. Talk to Lester.
- [Dlg028 - 0:20]. Talk to Devius at the inn.
- - One more time: complete Vega's and Umberto's side-quests now or you
- will not get the chance to do so later.
- [Dlg029 - 5:28]. Approach the cathedral.

- [Dlg033 - 0:20]. Talk to Marley.
- - Examine the book one more time.
- [Dlg034 - 7:19]. Examine the closet.
- |
- [PC: + Bogard Lv27]
- - You can break the windows in some of the rooms, allowing you to reach
- the exterior of the ship.
- - On one of the floors, you'll find a soldier and two werewolves. Kill
- them to obtain the Knuckles. When you have this weapon equipped, you can
- actually control the magic missile. This is optimal for leveling up
- magic, as it allows you to get two hits in with a single spell - sometimes
- more.
- - In order to obtain the key to the Control Room, you have to kill every
- group of soldiers found throughout the ship.
- [Dlg035 - 0:12]. This one plays when you enter the reactor room.
- |
- [Boss]
- - 50 Exp, 90 Lucre
- - This is a good opportunity to finally start leveling up Wisp.

- - Go through the event with Johnny and Tony at the inn to get some
- Dudbear Gold (choose 'You bet').
- - Vega's quest #2 (only available if you completed the first one):
- This time he wants a Glittering Armor (dropped by Rabillions). This
- one has a less limited time window, but it's better to take care of
- it right away.
- - There's another set of accessories on sale, this time offering a

- - You can now visit your pot house and have Watts forge you some new
- weapons and armor. There's nothing too impressive you can create with
- the materials you have now, though.
- - I suggest you get the Belle Bell now. You should have at least 5k
- at this point, so it won't take long. After that, you should unlock
- Niccolo's special wares (seen above), so you can start making gear
- from Lorimar Iron, Altena Alloy, and ??. You should pass up on
- Ori, though, and save your money for the best materials.
- × If you don't feel like grinding, you can easily buy the Belle Bell
- by using the money you (temporarily) get in one of the quests in Jadd.
- × As usual, keep your weapons non-elemental.

- [Dlg057 - 2:17]. Talk to Cibba.
- |
- [PC: + Willy]
- - Phase 5 in Luke's quest: Talk to Yakov.
- - Mahar at the inn asks you to find Bubu worms for him (dropped by
- Basilisks).
- - Abdul at the general store gives you a Cancun feather if you teach
- him a couple of things. Talk to Messier nearby after that, but do *not*
- agree to sell the feather. Instead, give it back to Abdul, then talk
- to Messier again to receive some Db gold.
- - Ghamdi at the blacksmith's wants fruit.
- - The final set of accessories is now available (+15 to one stat for
- 400 Lucre). I'd stick with the Belle Bell, though.
- \\\ Glass Desert (south) ||
- Items: Chocolump, Gummi Frog, Magic Walnut, Oblong Seed, Long Seed
- Item (nc): Moon Geode (Unique, Temp)
- - Cannon travel is now available. Head to the cannon south of town,
- and you'll be able to return to earlier areas of the game. You can
- explore the northern desert as well, but there's nothing to do yet,
- other than hunt down items and get assraped by the Skull Drakes.
- - You'll likely want to create some new gear at this point. Try to
- stick to non-elemental weapons. You should also try and avoid creating
- armor that prevents the mini status effect (NoWimp).
- - The geode is hidden behind the cannon.
- - Your next official destination is Lorimar (also reached via Cannon
- Travel), but don't go there yet, as you'll end up stuck there for a
- while once you do.
- Item (nc): Black Mask (Unique, Temp) \\\ Menos ||
- - Talk to Toma at the inn and agree to return the Black Mask to the Dubbears.
- Item (nc): Tiny Tapper (Unique) \\\ Wendel ||
- - A new quest is available. Go to the cathedral at night and agree to
- catch the thief for Inger. Find him in the following three locations:
- 1. South of the fountain
- 2. At the general store
- 3. Near the blacksmith's at dawn (rest at the inn)
- - Return to Inger to receive the Tiny Tapper / Midge Mallet / Chibikko Hammer.
- - There's also a kid at the church who wants chocolate.
- \\\ Mushboom Forest ||
- Items: Gummi Frog, Oblong Seed, Small Seed, Angel Grail,
- Menos Bronze, Angel Grail, Flat Seed, Chocolump
- - Head west from Wendel to get here.
- Item: Big Seed \\\ Path to Mine ||
- \\\ Abandoned Mine ||
- - Talk to the Dudbears to give back the Black Mask. Looks like this
- is all you can do here when playing as the Girl.
- Items: Angel Grail, Round Seed \\\ Path to Gaia ||
- \\\ Gaia Cave ||
- Items: Crooked Seed, Marble, Big Seed, BB Ring, Marble, Animal Hide,
- Forsena Iron, Angel Grail, Small Seed
- - Examine Gaeus's face to enter this dungeon.
- Item: Spiny Seed \\\ Lake Vicinity ||
- Item (nc): Water Geode (Unique, Temp)
- - Check the cliff where the Spiny Seed was to find the geode.
- Item (nc): Earth Geode (Unique, Temp) \\\ Path to Topple ||
- - Return to the save point beyond the meadow. Use the Tiny Tapper and
- you can get past the trees east of the statue where the geode is. If
- the Tiny Tapper isn't working, you're most likely wearing armor that
- prevents the status ailment (ie. NoWimp).
- - Well, that about wraps up the loose ends for now. Time to head to Lorimar.
- Item: Undine Icon \\\ Snowfield Armory ||
- - The cannon will be back in service once you complete the next dungeon.
- You *can* use the Magic Rope to escape, though, as long as you don't
- save here.
- Items: Gumdrop, Flat Seed, Jadd Hemp \\\ Snowfield ||
- \\\ Lorimar Castle ||
- [Dlg058 - 2:01]. This one plays when you reach the throne room.
- \\\ Kahla Peaks ||
- Items: Gumdrop, Magic Walnut, Gummi Frog, Water Coin, Big Seed,
- Marble, Chocolump, Ash Wood, Ash Wood, Small Seed, Lorimar Iron
- Boss: Marilith / Marylis
- [Boss]
- - 140 Exp, 165 Lucre
- - If your Wisp is already hovering around Lv50, you might not need to
- get it much higher. But, hey, if you feel like it, go right ahead.
- |
- [Dlg059 - 2:55]
- \\\ Lorimar ||
- - Phase 6 in Luke's quest: Talk to Marco, Luke's father. That's it.
- Return to Luke to finish the quest. And in case you haven't been paying
- attention, here's a recap:
- - Topple: Luke
- - Wendel: Sasha, Navali
- - Menos: Kralove
- - Jadd: Radley, Priscilla
- - Ishe: Yakov
- - Lorimar: Marco
- \\\ Ishe ||
- - A new quest is available. Jahari at the blacksmith's wants you to
- get Moondrops for him (apparently dropped by enemies in the northern
- desert).
- - This is probably the last side quest I'll mention, as I just can't
- be bothered with the remaining ones.
- \\\ Rocky Wilds ||
- Items: Gumdrop, Angel Grail, Dion Wood, Magic Walnut, Chocolump
- Item (nc): Wind Geode (Unique, Temp)
- - The floating rocks will damage you, so do try to avoid them.
- - You'll find the geode in the area with the Golden Goddess Statue.
- \\\ Subland River ||
- Items: Chocolump, Magic Walnut, Animal Hide, Chocolump, Angel Grail,
- Gator Skin, Fish Scale, Water Coin, Lorimar Iron, Altena Alloy,
- Crooked Seed, Snake Scale, Altena Alloy, Oblong Seed, Spiny Seed,
- Ash Wood, Undine Icon, Chocolump, Angel Grail, Round Seed
- Item (nc): Brownie Ring (Unique)
- Boss: Kraken
- - You'll need to examine all the loose rocks in order to proceed (only
- works with your main character).
- - Don't forget to switch characters to make progressing easier (as in,
- for instance, after getting knocked down by a stream of water).
- - Chibify yourself with the Tiny Tapper to enter the "hidden area"
- through one of the little holes (the ones that had water in them will
- take you nowhere, though). From here, it's possible to get to the area
- with the Brownie Ring. However, in order to reach it, you'll need to
- unchibify yourself while you're still "inside the wall" (as in, you
- can't see your character). You're in the right spot when you can see
- one of the holes (the one that had 3 chests nearby) in the lower left
- corner of the screen. Once you're back to normal size, you need to jump
- over an obstacle towards the north. That's it.
- × The Brownie Ring boosts all your stats by 55 points. You probably
- shouldn't use it...
- [Dlg060 - 0:17]. This one plays when you examine the robot.
- |
- [Boss]
- - Kraken goon: 2 Exp, 1 Lucre | Kraken: 170 Exp, 195 Lucre
- - Not a great boss to level up magic with. He simply moves around too much.
- \\\ Subsea Volcano ||
- Items: Chocolump, Lizard Scale, Long Seed, Gummi Frog, Fire Coin,
- Angel Grail, Maia Lead, Spiny Seed, Jadd Hemp, Gummi Frog
- Items (nc): Fire Geode (Unique, Temp), Rusty Sword (Unique)
- Boss: Ifrit
- - You should avoid the lava. The Grumpkins are also fairly unpleasant
- to hang out with.
- - The Fire Geode is in the lava just a little west of the chest with
- the Angel Grail. This is one of the first areas (ie. the one with a few
- chests up on the cliffs that you can only reach by circling around from
- the west). Immediately north of this area is an area with several Metaballs.
- - There are a couple of places where you can break a part of the wall
- to reach new areas.
- [Dlg061 - 0:22]. This one plays when you examine the warbot.

- [PC: - Wally]
- \\\ Ishe ||
- - Talk to the Boy.
- |
- [PC: + Boy Lv43]
- - You'll likely want to pay a visit to Watts again to forge some new
- equipment.
- \\\ Glass Desert ||
- Items: Gummi Frog, Chocolump, Ash Wood, Obsidian,
- Gumdrop, Crooked Seed, Angel Grail, Marble, Shade Icon, Magic Walnut
- Item (nc): Light Geode (Unique, Temp)
- - The northern Glass Desert is roaming with Skulldrakes. These enemies
- have the ability to reflect physical damage back to whomever is
- attacking them. I would recommend against engaging them.
- - This area can be a little difficult to explore because of the numerous
- starlit paths you can only use at night.
- - The Light Geode is near two chests (with a Gummi Frog and Chocolump)
- that can only be reached at night.
- Items: Chocolump, Magic Walnut \\\ Ruined Passage ||
- [Dlg063 - 1:11]. Examine the door.
- - A new location can now be reached via Cannon Travel.
- \\\ Sealed Cave ||
- Items: Chocolump, Moon Coin, Obsidian, Big Seed, Pedan Stone,
- Black Bone, Angel Grail, Shade Icon
- Special: Shade
- Boss: Lich
- - Find and activate the five switches throughout the dungeon, then
- activate the monument.
- [Dlg064 - 0:31]. Activate the monument.

- Items: Chocolump, Luna Icon, Long Seed, Obsidian,
- Angel Grail, Gumdrop, Gummi Frog, Dion Wood, Oblong Seed, Small Seed,
- Maia Lead, Magic Walnut, Round Seed, Chocolump
- - There are no save points here.
- [Dlg066 - 1:06]. Examine the door.
- - Eventually, you'll reach a room with a pedestal of some kind.
- WARNING! THIS IS THE POINT OF NO RETURN!
- [Dlg067 - 0:23]. Approach the pedestal and choose 'yes.'
- \\\ Dime Tower ||
- Items: Chocolump, Gummi Frog, Magic Walnut, Jadd Hemp,
- Granz Steel, Chocolump, Menos Bronze, Big Seed, Gumdrop,
- Forsena Iron, Sultan Silk, Chocolump, Menos Bronze, Gummi Frog,
- Magic Walnut, Angel Grail, Altena Alloy, Marble, Angel Grail
- Boss: Golem Boss
- - You will no longer have access to this dungeon once you complete the
- events here.
- [Dlg068 - 0:27]. Proceed north from the save point.
- |
- [PC: - Boy]
- [Dlg069 - 0:54]. This one plays when you find Marcie the Warbot.
- |
- [PC: + Warbot Lv52]
- [Dlg070 - 0:29]. Examine the "computer terminal" on GF.
- - You'll need to hit those domes in order to proceed.
- [Dlg071 - 0:09]. This one plays on 3F.
- - The previous floors will collapse.
- - Destroy the two metaballs on 5F. Left one: blunt (the mace can reach
- it). Right one: piercing.
- [Dlg072 - 0:09]. Step on the special panel on 7F after activating the domes.
- - The previous areas will again collapse.
- - Make sure you get the chests on 11F before activating all the panels
- on the ground.
- [Dlg073 - 0:09]. Activate the floor panels.
- - The previous areas will collapse yet again.
- [Dlg074 - 0:17]. Proceed north past the save point.
- |
- [Boss]
- - 220 xp, 300 Lucre
- - He resists damage pretty well, so this one won't be so easy.
- |
- [Dlg075 - 3:44]
- |
- [PC: - Warbot, + Boy Lv47]
- \\\ Mana Sanctuary ||
- Items: Gummi Frog, Dryad Icon, Gummi Frog, Chocolump, Spiny Seed,
- Small Seed, Oblong Seed, Light Coin, Wisp Icon, Chocolump, Long Seed,
- Ash Wood, Magic Walnut, Marble, Crooked Seed, Angel Grail,
- Pedan Stone, Gummi Frog, Angel Grail
- Boss: Demagon
- - The Magic Rope can be used again, but it can only warp you to save
- points found here in the final dungeon.
- - We'll start off with one of those infernal mazes where taking the
- wrong path will have you running in a loop.
- > From the save point, head: north, north, east, south, east, north.
- [Dlg076 - 0:20]. Pass the maze.
- [Dlg077 - 0:16]
- |
- [Boss]
- - 250 Exp, 375 Lucre
- - Demagon is able to inflict Stop on you at any time and tends to do
- it rather often if you try to run up to attack his head. I suggest
- you stay on the ground level and attack his tail whenever you get the
- opportunity. Keep in mind, you can still cast Heal Light even when
- inflicted with Stop.
- - The last three items on the list can only be reached from the temple.
- \\\ Mana Temple ||
- Items: Chocolump, Angel Grail, Gummi Frog, Light Coin, Pedan Stone,
- Magic Walnut, Small Seed, Angel Grail, Wisp Icon, Chocolump,
- Magic Walnut, Honey Elixir, Dion Wood, Dryad Icon, Honey Elixir
- Bosses: Julius, Julius 2
- - You'll eventually reach the final save point in a symmetrical room.
- [Dlg078 - 6:24]. Proceed north past the Goddess Statue.
- [Dlg079 - 2:07]
