  140. >At most 3 characters per series may qualify.
  141.
  142. >Ties are broken by who was nominated properly the earliest.
  143.
  144. ===Tournament Rules===
  145. >The 128 contestants are seeded based on their number of votes in the qualifier; the top voted get the top seeds, and vice versa. In the first round, matches are determined by seeding (1st vs. 128th, 2nd vs. 127th, etc.) and distributed across the bracket in a way so that the top two seeds can only meet in the final, top four can only meet in the semifinals, and so on. This is to prevent an anticlimactic finale with an obvious winner and an obvious loser.
  146. -Rule change during 2022 Queen /v/
  147. >Characters have randomized matches in the first round.
  148.
  149. >Anons vote for the winner of each match every round. Winners advance and fight other winners.
  150.
  151. >In a tie, a triple threat match is held between both characters and their next round's opponent; the winner wins by plurality. If said tie occurs in the final, higher seed wins.
  152.
  153. >The characters in the quarterfinals become the year's Elite Eight, with 3rd to 8th places determined by a poll, and the winner of the final is the champion of the tournament and the year's Queen/King.
  154.
  155. Although the main purpose of the tournaments is to decide /v/'s favorite characters of the year, it also encourages the creation of OC, and the discovery of games & characters you've never appreciated or heard of before.
  156.
  157. ===Rules/Etiquette for the Host(s)===
  158. >New rules that change the tournament dramatically cannot be implemented until they are voted on in the finals.
  159. (This is where you will have the most voters)
  160.
  161. >You do not have to implement these rules until the next year or next contest if said rules are too hard to implement at the time.
  162.
  163. >You are responsible for checking the polls and removing blatantly fraudulent votes, and allowing the true winner forward with the new voting tally.
  164.
  165. >You are NOT allowed to mention a character who was rigged for or against.
  166.
  167. >You MUST show the result's numbers and percentages in some form, pie chart, bracket, pastebin, or whatever other easily viewable form for voters (this can just be typing it in a post).
  168.
  169. >You need to have a secure trip so it is easier to recognize your threads, and so anyone cannot pretend to be you.
  170. (This is protection for you, and the tourney.)
  171.
  172. >You may have a loser's bracket and or double elimination bracket. This is not recomended for beginners or for a small team.
  173.
  174. >Do not advertise other websites.
  175. -Posting the poll, bracket, results sites are fine as long as it isn't an ad.
  176.
  177. >Know who is helping you run the poll, therefore vet them before you let them help.
  178.
  179. >Do not argue relentlessly in the thread. (You should aim to draw as little attention as possible)
  180.
  181. >Be willing to listen to anons with grievances or just minor fixes, and address them.
  182.
  183. >The main host is the person who takes full responsibility for the tournament
  184. Roles Include
  185. -Speaking to anons.
  186. -Posts the new rounds/the majority of the threads.
  187. -Gets final say on who is allowed in.
  188.
  189. Optional information for Hosts:
  190. >Know how to reach out to mods if threads are pruned. (this is not on the main site)
  191. -Don't argue with them, or act like an asshole.
  192. -Don't go to another mod just because one mod told you no. (You will be banned)
  193. -Give forewarning to the dates of the tourney. Have a start and end time. It must account for all 9 Rounds. Typically this is 11 days. (The last day is for After Party Threads. Ask for this entire time because mods may not allow after party threads if a request is not put in.)
  194. -Do not extend the date if the mods do not give you permission. This will piss them off.
  195. -All mods are global (ie they handle every board).
  196.
  197. >Plus4chan /tnt/ board is a great resource if you need help.
  198.
  199. ===Resources to Run===
  200. Will be added later.
