48. Takato is depressed after Henry and Rika have previous commitments and can't go Digimon patrolling, but he feels better when he goes with Guilmon to play with his school friends.
 49. Even if it weren't inferior to the previous chapter in every conceivable way, this would still be a mediocre episode.

The story is the textbook definition of unwieldly, starting branched off into 3 subplots, 2 of which don't go anywhere. We have Takato at the park with his friends, Rika at the theater with her grandmother and Henry going off on his own. I find it odd that Takato would be so nonchalant about introducing Guilmon to a bunch of kids that, as far as we know, he never hangs out with (so much for "you can't tell anyone about this"). Rika's flashbacks at the theater are redundant, only amounting to her realizing or recounting stuff that is too blatant to take seriously. Whether it's pandering to the audience or an attempt to save on animation costs, it's just a bad idea, and this type of longwinded flashback will rear its ugly head several more times in the series. Henry's plans literally don't amount to anything. Actually, there are implications that he went to practice martial arts with his sensei, but even if that is the case revealing this aspect of his life in such a deliberate manner this late into the series is not beneficial, just annoying. In sharp contrast, "Ghost of a Chance" from the second season was also about the heroes trying to slow down and have an ordinary day, but it was also imbued with a sense of purpose and substance.

Sandiramon is a much less impressive opponent than Mihiramon; partially because he is out in the open so much and partially because his abilities aren't well established (what exactly was he powering up?). It's also underwhelming that the 3 champion digimon are able to beat him, and he just couldn't help attempting to tarnish their victory by revealing information on his group.
