  1. The summer sun shone bright in the open sky, near blinding to the serpentine women who had become accustomed to the dim light that filtered down from the forest canopy as they made their way along the river towards their destination. Even their normally keen thermal vision needed time to adjust, so used to the clear contrast between body heat and humid forest air, not having the grasslands - and soon sand - around them burn with the same heat as the air itself... And what a heat it was. While the summers within the forest were stifling, agitating, enough to get a cold blooded woman's blood pumping to a dangerous degree, this was different, dry and hot, all at once fatiguing and invigorating... All in all it was a novel sensation, something never experienced by a race who had never set scale outside their densely wooded home. But never let it be said that the lamia of Hundred Scales aren't creatures of habit.

  3. Amidst the river delta, along the coastline overlooking the vast and endless ocean, a small fishing village was built. Huts of cemented sand cropped up nearly overnight and merchants eagerly flocked to trade goods for exotic fish, fruit and shells. Where its twin to the north west was a project of long term abundance, counting on dedicated cultivation of the hills to eventually pay off with lush orchards, the fertile silt of the river and abundance of fish, game and plantlife made for an astounding short term boom for a place with such an abundance of open space and so little cover; to say nothing of the fact it was a paradise for the more aquatically oriented of the lamia race, allowing their skills to truly shine and flourish.

  5. Of course, it was thanks to this abundance and the face that the land did not need to be prepared overmuch that the serpents were able to truly indulge in their most sacred (and anticipated) of festivals. A large pit had been dug out at the center of the town, surrounded on sides by tables and stalls offering a great feast for all in attendance, and at the bottom sat several nude figures from effeminate rabbit folk to burly bear and wolfmen to lanky cat folk. Many were bandits, captured by hunter patrols, bound and drugged and left to sit under the watchful eyes of the myriad scaled women in an equal state of undress... The quite hungry, lust filled eyes. The feasting lasted from dawn to high noon, the residents of the village and their merchant guests all waiting with almost unbearable anticipation for the sun to settle directly overhead. The tension was almost palpable, chests heaving with labored breaths, lithe bodies squirming and writhing impatiently, some women even coiling and grinding together in a hopeless attempt at easing the heat that burned away at their bodies. They all waited, eyes on the men below, and at the town overseer awaiting her signal.

  7. When the village head finally gave the signal the writhing mass descended upon their prey like a great wave crashing upon the shore, the pit quickly filling with squirming bodies, coiling and fighting over the men below. Prospective husbands were mounted, bitten, squeezed until their seeds were sown within needy, dripping holes only to be force fed a bundle of herbs and passed to the next woman desperate to be filled with a clutch of eggs. It was sexual chaos, pure desperation and need unleashed like a steam pipe bursting, the sea of slithering, squirming forms making it hard to tell who was doing what - or who - at any given time, and with the overseer herself lost in the thick of it there was no one to keep order as the village spiraled into their own lust.

  9. The festivities would go on until nightfall, many of the men would pass out in the thick of things, utterly drained and exhausted, some mentally fried from a severe overdose of venom and whatever strange herbs the herbalist had thrown together to boost their stamina and virility. Those that survived of course would be taken as communal husbands, and submitted to these trials once more the next summer, and the one after that, for as long as their bodies held out.
