  1. While studying at Candlekeep I had the selfish thought come into my head of how nice it would be to have the resources of the great library in my very own home. The study rooms are comfortable enough, but I can't exactly practice my fireballs and extraplanar summoning in there now can I?

  3. One day I realized there's nothing in the Orders of Accordance that say you can't create a Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion in your study room! I quickly mastered the spell and could now study in my dream house (complete with several cats), and was very content for a time. However the 24 hour time limit continued to annoy me. One time I even overslept while the duration expired, unceremoniously tossing me into the study in my pajamas. Ouch!

  5. At first I thought it hubris that I would be able to improve a spell created by the great Mordenkainen himself, but after studying other permanent pocket dimensions (the rooms in The Hearth and Bags of Holding for example), I was surprised to learn I was able to extend the duration of the mansion! Only by an hour or two at first, but eventually by weeks and now months. I believe at this point the mansion may very well be permanent!

  7. As I grew emboldened to take advantage of my new space to study increasingly dangerous magics, I also grew concerned of any way my new mansion could somehow cause others harm. One possibility was that someone eventually becomes trapped in here without me around, as they wouldn't know the egress command word.

  9. At first I thought to simply hang a sign by the door, but realized in the event I were to summon a creature with the ability to read and speak common (they're more common than you'd think), they'd easily be able to leave my mansion and invade Candlekeep! So, I took the liberty of creating a little puzzle to hide the word. It's a good bet that anyone coming in by way of Candlekeep enjoys books enough to figure it out, but let's just hope I don't summon any demons that are avid readers.
