  3. good afternoon
  4.
  5. APotentBeastToday at 3:44 PM
  6. Hey! How's it going?
  7.
  8. RiggjaedenToday at 3:44 PM
  9. just trying to keep up with everything happening atm
  10. [3:44 PM]
  11. quite the wild ride
  12.
  13. APotentBeastToday at 3:45 PM
  14. Yeah this has been... quite the week in esports to say the least.
  15. [3:45 PM]
  16. Woof.
  17.
  18. RiggjaedenToday at 3:46 PM
  19. so i was talking to PB about the idea of trying to salvage a lot of these content creators and such
  20. [3:46 PM]
  21. he mentioned that i get in touch w/ you
  22. [3:47 PM]
  23. ive been around doing this stuff since 2009. primarily before there was a lot of money involved in the scene.
  24.
  25. APotentBeastToday at 3:47 PM
  26. PB is a good guy. I have a lot of love for the WoW community so as I see this unfold I feel a bit of me that wants to help what I can to right the ship of the scene.
  27.
  28. RiggjaedenToday at 3:48 PM
  29. held world 1st and 2nd for several years throughout end of Cata and all throughout Mists of Pandaria. i was leading Blood Legion during that time.
  30. [3:48 PM]
  31. took a break in 2016 after my dad passed away and things just blew up in the raiding scene
  32. [3:48 PM]
  33. came back at the end of last year (Nov) and started up this team. trying to get things back to where they were.
  34. [3:49 PM]
  35. but this time starting from scratch, literally. we finished top 10 US just a few weeks after forming the guild. def a promisning start, and looking to be much better in shadowlands.
  36. [3:49 PM]
  37. thats just some quick background about the current guild situation and myself.(edited)
  38.
  39. APotentBeastToday at 3:50 PM
  40. Appreciate the background! For such a short time frame the fact you got top 10 US is pretty impressive so you guys should all be proud of what you've put together so far.
  41.
  42. RiggjaedenToday at 3:50 PM
  43. yea, but i def want to see us getting back to World Top 5 range within a few tiers.
  44. [3:50 PM]
  45. a lot of work though.
  46. [3:51 PM]
  47. plenty of other branding ideas as well. just dont really have any money to get the ball rolling on all this stuff.
  48.
  49. APotentBeastToday at 3:52 PM
  50. A little bit of background about me is I was with Method for a couple years. Went from player > team manager > GM. During that time worked with all of the teams and all of the players, while working with sponsors (both endemic and game-specific such as WoW), and tournament organizers + more. To say the least I grew a lot of love for WoW while I was there. Once I had my son I had to part ways with Method and haven't been back in the scene since. Prior to Method I was an owner of another org & we had salaried a Arena team -- Rockets Esports.
  51.
  52. RiggjaedenToday at 3:52 PM
  53. what years did you raid w/ method?
  54.
  55. APotentBeastToday at 3:53 PM
  56. Amongst other teams. We had about 5 salaried teams with Rockets Esports. I never raided with WoW to be honest... I was a pro player for Overwatch when they were in that scene prior to OWL.
  57.
  58. RiggjaedenToday at 3:53 PM
  59. ah, gotcha
  60. [3:53 PM]
  61. was jsut curious if i may have known your character name. ive known a lot of the older method guys for a while since we competed w/ them for a few years.
  62. [3:54 PM]
  63. but ya, i dont really know how all the structural organization goes. i just know i can help facilitate the WoW raiding portion of that, and actually anything PvE related
  64.
  65. APotentBeastToday at 3:55 PM
  66. You sound like you're certainly the right guy to help any org propel themselves deeper into the scene of WoW
  67. [3:55 PM]
  68. So I don't know how much you know about the scene and how things go with guilds these days, but I'm privy to quite a bit since I had to handle a lot of those communications and contracts for Method.
  69.
  70. RiggjaedenToday at 3:56 PM
  71. podcasts, coaching sessions, social media, etc. these are all things ive wanted to get going at some point, but just need to get some orgs/sponsors on board to be able to pay people
  72.
  73. APotentBeastToday at 3:56 PM
  74. guilds <> orgs I should say
  75.
  76. RiggjaedenToday at 3:56 PM
  77. just depends on what specifically you'd be referring to. i know how a lot of the guild structure and stuff works, but very little about anything financial.
  78.
  79. APotentBeastToday at 3:59 PM
  80. So when it comes to financials of where orgs see the benefit it's difficult. The only money orgs get from raiding guilds is from content creation for the most part. For example, paying guild members per article they write.
  81. [4:00 PM]
  82. In total transparency, I am looking to launch a new esports organization with a big focus in WoW. https://twitter.com/gg_embrace More focused on total inclusion of people, community, and finding ways to better the scene in every way possible.

  93. Esports is notoriously toxic
  94. [4:01 PM]
  95. Which leaves a lot of room for improvement
  96.
  97. RiggjaedenToday at 4:02 PM
  98. haha, this seems like some opportunistic timing to say the least
  99.
  100. APotentBeastToday at 4:02 PM
  101. I couldn't agree more haha
  102.
  103. RiggjaedenToday at 4:03 PM
  104. writing articles and stuff is something that people have been doing for a while. i wonder if other means would yield comparable or better results.
  105. [4:03 PM]
  106. like setting up coaching sessions and such
  107.
  108. APotentBeastToday at 4:04 PM
  109. Coaching sessions, Masterclass type material, etc.. there are good avenues for income for players.
  110.
  111. RiggjaedenToday at 4:04 PM
  112. i say that because this tier was the first time it was a major guild doing exactly that
  113. [4:04 PM]
  114. has a lot of ppl w/ their eyes on that type of approach
  115. [4:04 PM]
  116. Limit finished world 1st this tier and their raid leader didnt even play the game
  117. [4:04 PM]
  118. he just coached via screen share
  119.
  120. APotentBeastToday at 4:04 PM
  121. That's super interesting...
  122.
  123. RiggjaedenToday at 4:05 PM
  124. so it kind of has a lot of appeal atm. i think we could definitely capitalize on that
  125.
  126. APotentBeastToday at 4:06 PM
  127. For what it's worth I think there are a lot of opportunities to make money in the scene. I'm also a full stack programmer so I can create an entire platform that enables players to make money in various ways... particularly with content creation. Working on plans for native mobile apps on iOS and Android too on top of website so people can always be in touch with what's happening
  128.
  129. RiggjaedenToday at 4:06 PM
  130. and that can even be expanded on down to the personal level of having people buy coaching sessions for cheap prices to help them improve diff aspects of their game (mythic +, raiding, pvp, etc)
  131. [4:06 PM]
  132. thats awesome
  133. [4:07 PM]
  134. i def think this has potential. im not sure the steps that would need to be taken to get to that point, but im willing to sign up and commit the time/effort to get things in motion. this is my fulltime job (streaming), so i put all my focus into it.
  135. [4:08 PM]
  136. and i can get the guild on board as well.
  137.
  138. APotentBeastToday at 4:08 PM
  139. I love finding dedicated people. I think we could make something work between us for sure. Up front it would have to be for free until we create a platform that enables content creation and monetization. Should be pretty easy to do.
  140.
  141. RiggjaedenToday at 4:09 PM
  142. i went down a very similar road back in 2011, but it was just not really the right timing to do all this stuff. streaming wasnt nearly what it is now, nor was gaming as big as it is.
  143. [4:09 PM]
  144. yea, for sure. im not expecting any instant results. im all for helping build something, but would just want to make sure things were handled properly so that if/when it does pan out, people are in a good position.
  145.
  146. APotentBeastToday at 4:10 PM
  147. Absolutely. Nothing from this is for me to gain anything personally, it's all about just giving back to the players and people who make gaming great.
  148.
  149. RiggjaedenToday at 4:11 PM
  150. respect. im just trying to get to the point where i can make a living off this stuff. spent 8yrs in the Marines and did a bit of college. this is just where my passion and interest is it. want to be able to do it long term.
  151.
  152. APotentBeastToday at 4:12 PM
  153. I'd love to help make that happen. Where do you guys think you'll rank next big raid in the world? If you had to take a ballpark guess, obviously I know there is no science in this scene but gauging dedication level of the guild and where things can progress.
  154.
  155. RiggjaedenToday at 4:12 PM
  156. i think a realistic guess would be around top 15 world
  157. [4:13 PM]
  158. for perspective, we finished the same reset as the rank 18th guild did this tier
  159. [4:13 PM]
  160. and we had just made the guild a couple weeks prior. tons of roster changes since then and in a much better spot.
  161.
  162. APotentBeastToday at 4:13 PM
  163. That's great to hear
  164.
  165. RiggjaedenToday at 4:13 PM
  166. my goal is by the 2nd tier of the new expansion we can be top 10 world
  167. [4:13 PM]
  168. i know thats ambitious, but its the goal at least.
  169.
  170. APotentBeastToday at 4:14 PM
  171. ambition is great, I like ambition haha
  172. [4:14 PM]
  173. talk to the guild, gauge their thoughts, and if everyone is on board with the general idea I think we can work through some details
  174.
  175. RiggjaedenToday at 4:15 PM
  176. sounds great. i'll get back to you asap.
  177. [4:15 PM]
  178. thank you for your time.
  179. [4:15 PM]
  180. and nice to meet you.
  181. [4:15 PM]
  182. Charles or Rigg, either works for my name btw. whichever youre comfortable using (first name or char name).
  183.
  184. APotentBeastToday at 4:15 PM
  185. really great to meet you too, thanks for the fast response
